An anime series dedicated to the 80th birthday of Fujio Akatsuka since Osomatsu-Kun debuted in 1962.

It's basically a timeskip with the sextuplets now adults. The ED is catchy to listen to. XD

Danm, that first episode was drop dead insane with all of those rapid fire spoofs and parodies — the comedic timing was sharp and felt very Gintama-ish. Dunno what they're gonna do with the rest of the series, but as a stand alone story the first episode was fantastic.

The titan peering over the wall at the school reminded me of the first episode of the Attack on Titan School spin off.

Second episode is all hilarity with the siblings getting drunk since they can't find work. grin

Ichimatsu in Garfield cosplay and Jyushimatsu in Odie cosplay. It just fits.

I take it you need not have seen the original series to enjoy this properly? Sounds funny and I'm not watching any comedies right now, so...

The show starts out in the style of the original cartoon and establishes as much as you need to know about the characters early on. It was always a gag-based series with sitcom characterization.

You don't need to. From what I heard, the brothers actually have vastly different personalities than in Osomatsu-kun. It made nods to the original series, but otherwise a standalone.

Also, the first 10 minutes are extremely misleading about the actual content.

Goddammit this episode. I'm here for laughs not tears dammit! That cat hits way too close to home.

Episode 1's being struck down due to Japanese laws not having exemptions for parodies.

This is so damn hilarious. The replaced episode 1 apparently only makes fans more eager to buy the BD. On Amazon the pre-order even surpasses Owarimonogatari.

Great job, Japanese laws.

I'd like to think that someone got jealous that the Attack on Titan gag in Osomatsu was better than the actual Attack on Titan gag show, but Osomatsu parodied a lot of stuff.

It's not like Gintama since they mostly stick to other Jump series when it comes to explicit parody.

Looking to upgrade to park bench.

Episode 6. The first half made me laugh a lot, but the second half wasn't that much. Anything past the horse race only made me feel bad for Iyami instead.

Eh, not like there is much continuity. He'll probably be just fine and well next episode.

Also, Osomatsu-san confirmed to be running for 2 cours

This show is like a crossover between Nichijou and Gintama.

You never know what you're going to get next.

It would be interesting if there's some continuity (or maybe even a plot) regarding the Black Factory. It works as a one-off gag, but it if pops up a few more times it could make for a decent overarching conflict.

Sayonara, episode 1. Oh well, it's not like it'll be disappearing from the hundred other anime viewing sites on the internet.

I guess the new Episode 1 is either going to be another parody sketch with less blatant homages (I didn't understand most of them anyways), or a skit made in the style of the current episodes.

So...8 more episodes in and this thread has never updated? What gives?

Edit: The latest episode (9) is pretty heart-breaking though...

That second half. Ugh. This is like ESP Kitty all over again. Not like Jyushimatsu needed any more reason to be one of my most favorite matsu (along with Ichimatsu), but damn.

I wonder if we're gonna get a serious episode for each brother.

For the record, apparently there was an unaired skit "Virgin Hero", focusing on Choromatsu when he saw a group of college students and wondered why his life is so different. It was supposed to air in episode 5 or 6, but I guess the controversy made them remove it.

I don't understand what's happening in that video.

Wow. I'm shocked at how legitimately touching Episode 9 was. It was also a nice change of pace to see the brothers help one of their own out and root him on instead of sabotaging his relationship.

I didn't know what "14" at the end was supposed to be, so I looked it up. Apparently it's a pun on Jyushimatsu's name, and she used it to cover up the wound she inflicted on her wrist from a previous suicide/self harm attempt.

Damn. sad

It's actually Jyuushi's wristband. You can see him wearing it beforehand with his baseball uniform if you look close enough.

I guess at some point he gave it to her.

What I got from it (partially) is Jyushimatsu was in a store as an employee. And he was doing training on how he'd interact with customers.

Let's say his NO INDOOR VOICE isn't going to help him a lot. tongue

Episode 10 was one of the funnier ones.

Seafood girl's samurai crustacean outfit actually looked really cool.
