Interesting...I'll give that a pending other suggestions.
I found this one pretty amusing.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"I'll give a slight edge to 3 because the OP suggestion looks too much like Elves Versus Dwarves.
3 is good.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?3 works for me.
Oh God, I love 3.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.3 is pretty witty and amusing, so it gets my vote.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThree is good. Much clearer what's going on, and also more amusing.
Reaction Image RepositoryBetrayal is not vital, but it is common. That King was killed by an enemy.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Yeah, I think we have enough agreements here.
Caption or no caption?
Here's a suggestion of mine:
"Here's rooking at you, king."

I prefer just "Checkmate." (no quotation marks)
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Checkmate is good with me.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Agreed. A simple "Checkmate" will suffice.
And yikes the old pic is huge!
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportOkay, then I support Checkmate as well.
And wow, the old pic really IS huge. Holy crap.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel."Checkmate" is added and tagged. Locking up.
The Kingslayer and The Oath-Breaker have the same page image. (They are different ideas, though it's weird the article descriptions don't mention each other.)
Changing either would be fine, but I'd slightly prefer to change The Kingslayer. (Jaime Lannister is not the Trope Namer, but similar issue.) I suggest this image◊ and the caption: King Thingol is betrayed and killed by dwarven jewelsmiths in The Silmarillion.
