The strings-heavy track that played when the Gundam showed up near the end of the episode was some real hype stuff.
"And you must be Jonathan Joestar!" - SueLate to the party, but: I don't think Mika has anything against Kudelia. I think he refused to shake her hand for the exact reason he said, and his saying that the equal status the handshake would've indicated was fake was nothing but a blunt observation, no particular resentment.
My money is on Kudelia ending up as a mechanic. Probably including a scene where she walks up to Mika with some kind of "good luck out there" sentiment with a grease-stained hand extended.
Should've checked the list.Oh that'd be kind of nice to see. I doubt she's gonna get the implant so it'd make sense.
Do the Gundams need the implant, though?
That's probably something that we'll find out by next episode.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"Gjallarhorn is basically OZ in space so far. And I hope to god Fareed isn't the series Char clone as he seems to be being set up.
Something about that sound track reminds me of a historical fantasy series but I can't place it.
Coming out of the first episode, and I got these questions:
1. For those coming out of Aldnoah Zero, anyone get the feeling Natsuki Hanae as Biscuit was channeling Inaho Kaizuka when he told Orga he sensed Gjallarhorn's Ahab Reactor?
2. Anyone notice that Norman Bernstein (Kudelia's father) ratting his own daughter out to Gjallarhorn is a nod to Franklin Bidan pretending to defect to AEUG just to steal a Rick Dias?
So.
Orga and Mikazuki are exceptionally close friends. Like, exceptionally close.
I'm probably reading too much into it, but come on.
A gay ship in Gundam that is canon? That would be acceptable.
On the romance front, I hope we get the patented Okada NTR love triangles.
She has also written a show featuring screaming fights about lesbian incest, so, uh. There is that.

Oh my stars.
i. hear. a. sound. That is less acceptable. Far less acceptable.
If this is about Wixxoss, the script and plotting for that were excellent, but unfortunately it utterly failed in doing what it was SUPPOSED to — marketing the Wixxoss card game. XD
But yeah, Okada Mari + Gundam is highly unusual, but maybe it'll really better than the other Martian Rebellion show we had recently *coughs*.
Can't guys be close friends without someone speculating that they are gay?
Well, I guess this is nothing new in Gundam...
"Can't guys be close friends without someone speculating that they are gay?"
Nope. Too many shippers exist for that to happen.

If you're talking about BRS, that was supposed to be creepy and abusive...
We'd speculate that they were bi if that hadn't been shut down
I'm speaking, of course, of Simoun, the other show she wrote for with lesbian incest in it. Apparently. Okada didn't do series composition for Simoun, just nine episodes but she did write the episodes with lesbian incest.
I'm not sure how you read my post that compelled you to point this out to me, though. I wasn't suggesting Okada approved of lesbian incest, or anything. Just relating a humourous and odd anecdote. Okada seems be fond of the Psycho Lesbian trope.
Too late. If there's one thing Okada loves more than psycho lesbians, it's NTR love triangles.

Before we get too far into this, what's the operative definition of NTR for this thread? I've seen that term used so much to describe so many different things that it's meaningless to me now.

25 episodes, apparently. Could conceivably be split like 00, though
Just 25 episodes could be a shame. There are a fair number of recent mecha that, in my opinion, would have been a lot better with enough time to establish a sufficiently grandiose plot.

25 episodes is plenty, as long as they use their screen time well. Trying to compress a 50-episode series into 25 episodes is problematic, but it's entirely possible to write for 25 episodes from scratch and come out with something great.

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.IE. The first Build Fighters.
But it seems like we are getting a honest real robot series here. Finally.
I liked the music as shown in the first episode.
Can't wait for the OST.
