"{When we find a vehicle, certainly.}" Ching said looking over to her Master. "{Honestly, this isn't even the largest ship I have, so Mana upkeep isn't really much of an issue. It has enough firepower to help in combat and it's small size will not get us noticed right away if I had a larger ship out.}"
She thought for a moment and added, "{You're free to come aboard if you like, Norman. For someone your age I take it walking to our destination would be exhausting.}"

Fuyuki City, Japan, 1994
Alba blearily stared at the tower as everyone around her chattered and hurriedly made plans among themselves. It's one thing to be woken up from a long sleepless night to an alarm clock, it's another to wake up to the sounds of war. But...it seems the grail war waits for no one. And Rider was already on point, doing what he could. In her head, Alba cycled through several dozen books' worth of factoids, trying to figure something relevant here...but as Alinia pointed out, the closest thing to a recorded plan to invade Japan wasn't going to happen for at least a year. America would still be occupied in the Pacific War at this point, and the Yalta Conference was still days away. Would it be the Chinese Army pushing in? No, that can't be right either...
...
Alba sighed with resignation. No good. She was finding it hard to think with all the sounds of war surrounding the area. The ominous black tower in the distance was giving her a headache just staring in its general direction, much less looking straight at it. The only question she could come up with was probably a question everyone else here knew, so she felt foolish asking it. "What was so important about Fuyuki, Japan that the third grail war started here?" burned in her head as she walked after all the other magi.
We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Claire landed in the past with a small 'oof', regaining her balance and looking around quickly. She half-listened to the others as she looked around the area, eventually agreeing with the general consensus - stay where we are, more or less, and send others out to scout.
Lancer, I think it might be best if you stayed with us...unless you have any objections?
Avatar from http://x0whitelily0x.livejournal.com/7486.htmlAlright, this will be my last post for a long while, please forgive me.
Fuyuki City
"As you wish, Ginoo." Caster replied, giving Leon's orders a quick nod of acknowledgement.
The fairy felt faint...this place was unnatural. It was the complete opposite of what she stood for, what she was.
"Although, Master, perhaps we can find a safe place to designate as my territory?"
As for the scouts, it really wouldn't take long until they saw something worth reporting.
Just beyond the bridge, in the city's larger business district, a battle was going on. One side was made of human soldiers. What was odd about them were the fact that they were not Japanese. No. They were Europeans. Germans.
The Germans were barking frantic orders at their troops, their lone tank firing at their enemy. Among the soldiers was a well-dressed aristocratic man with dark hair holding a staff...and he was chanting a spell.
Their enemy could only be called monsters. They were like living shadows, black as night, taking the form of large figures that had a humanoid body but a wolf's head and claws.
All over the battlefield was black mud, and any of the soldiers who got too close to said mud screamed and melted.
"Alinia... I found something. Germanic soldiers, a magic user among them fighting against monstrous beasts and some sort of dirty mud... Hmm a curse of some sort?" says Scathach, relying on her knowledge of magic to try and categorize the effect she saw "Something really nasty, whatever it is" she says, reporting what she sees and feels through the pebbles she magically inscribed with the rune of searching, pebbles which flew on all directions to report back to their Mistress.

Rider’s eyes showed hints of displeasure as he watched a shadow beast eviscerate a soldier. “Conríocht (Werewolves)…" He muttered under his breath. To see the creatures that were considered guardian spirits in his homeland mindless tear through the soldiers was not a sight he enjoyed seeing.
Speaking to the rest of the group, he said “If ye masters choose for us to assist, I suggest ye best grab a mount, lest someone take a wrong step into the cursed sludge."

Alinia committed the details of Scathach's spell to her memory. She hadn't seemed to do much, there wasn't any noticeable production time, interesting. In any case. "German soldiers? I don't think any of them left the European theater - and with a magus openly in their ranks, too..." She looked at Leon. "What should we do?"
Exist, pursued by bear"That is odd, isn't it? This should be allied territory for them, yet they're clearly armed.." Leon replied, holding out Innenwelt in front of him.
"I don't particularly want to, given that they're Nazis and all, but they're the only other humans around for now. If we can save them, maybe we can ask them what's going on. That's your order, everyone. Call back your servants, we're going to save them."
"And whatever you do, don't touch that weird mud."
A bolt of bright green light arced out from the German Magus's staff, eviscerating several Shades. However, more continued to pour in from the surrounding area. They seemed to be able to walk straight through the mud unharmed. In fact, they seemed to grow a little, as if the mud nourished them.
"I wouldn't have to be doing this if I still had Lancer!" yelled out the magus, his voice clearly expressing irritation and anger. "We cannot allow a loss here! For the Fuhrer!" he cried out in an attempt to inspire his men. It seemed to work, as they continued to fire their weapons despite the inevitability of their death.

Winda listened to Rider and Leon's orders and nods. She sends a message over to Archer.
"Head back, Archer! We're going to save these guys whether we like it or not!"
She summoned Gulldos because of Rider's suggestion and synchronized with her familiar by using her Kamuy headband. Gulldos grew enough to accommodate Archer and Winda. She climbed aboard and waited for Archer to return.

"Lancer? Let's go," Alinia said. She pulled a few more of the marbles out, muttering under her breath and dropping them onto the ground. They quivered for a moment, before spreading outwards to form a thin ring around Alinia that glowed with the pale blue-green of her Magic Circuits. "I'm as ready as I'll ever be."

Rider nodded, bringing his fingers to his mouth before releasing a sharp whistle. A faint whinny answered him before a pitch black horse shimmered into existence, slowing to a halt beside its master.
Rider gave the horse an affectionate pat before leaping onto its back, and offering a supporting hand to Alba. "Ye ever ride a horse bareback, Milady?"

right, this shall be an interesting first battle
Berserker's hands started tightening, 'For someone's glory' began to become even more intense in how it covered him, and there was a certain amount of blood lust beginning to emit from the servant himself. It was quite easy to see how much this mad man was looking forward to battle

Alba takes Rider's hand and allows herself to be pulled up onto the black horse. She sheepishly admits "Only once when I was a little girl. I can only hope this time doesn't end with me being bucked off." She rifles through her pockets for a loose piece of paper as she steels herself for conflict. Puzzling out how the German army got itself to Japan is less of an immediate concern than the shadowy lupine monsters absorbing the foul-smelling...swampish ichor(?).

As the group approached, the Shades halted their assault. They pulled back a little, then turned to completely face Chaldea's members. They growled and their forms seemed to tear apart with anger made visible through powers unspeakable. Then, they rushed in.
More of them came out from the ruins of nearby buildings, all converging on the tightly packed group. It wasn't a trap, these creatures clearly did not have intelligence for it. Instead, it seemed like they had stumbled into a massive group of them.
The German magus swung around, taking note of the approaching figures and the change in the tide of battle. "These damned wolves have found new prey! We're moving, men! Let them feast on those idiots!" he yelled out, leading the retreat himself. He would occasionally swing back and fire a few bolts of green energy, but his main focus was on running.
His soldiers fired a few pot shots behind them, but whatever courage they showed before was now replaced with the honest desire of getting out of there as fast as humanly possible.
"Alright everybody! Change of plans! We're going to fight through these things or find some easier way out!" Leon yelled out over the cacophony now present. "Caster, leave this to me." he muttered, concentrating on Innenwelt and muttering several arias under his breath. The bounded fields began to grow in size, as well as gain an actual visual boundary.

G was here - 2/9/24Julie cursed in French as the wolf-shades appear. "Mademoiselle, stay back." She pulled her sword from her side and readied herself.
Alinia pulled her Azoth Blade out of its sheath and began chanting under her breath, the air around her twisting and lifting her loose hairs. She levelled the blade at the wolves, making sure that none of the others were in her line of fire as she continued chanting.
"Get ready. I'm going to clear some of these out." She focused, and the gathering around her blew forward. A tunnel of oxygen and hydrogen, concentrated out of the nearby area, formed before her. "Feuer." A tiny spark appeared at the tip of her dagger, and a column of concentrated fire exploded outwards towards the Shades.

Exist, pursued by bear"Master, now would be a good time to get on the boat." Ching said as she stood up from her seat and moved over to the front of the boat, there rested a single small cannon that was now facing the shades rushing towards the group.
The pirate smirked to herself as a Chinese pistol appeared in her left hand and a Dao appeared in her right. She lifted her sword and pointed at the incoming wolf-shades.
"Fire."
The moment the word left her lips the cannon on the boat roared to life, firing off a blast at the enemy.

"It might be prudent to spread our forces a little bit sometime later." Norman chimed in, seemingly unphased to the death and destruction. Anomalies were just this: they were supposed to take you off guard and he was not shaken by mere pictures of war. "Given how close we're to the apparent army, a group like this will attract too much attention.
He glanced over at Ching sailing her boat. {Mind if we change your ride soon?} He asked. {Might be best to conserve your Mana if possible and there will be plenty of vehicles around to use.}
