i really love these designs. way more cooler than the ones from the web series.
MIACrossing my fingers so that Cartoon Network won't mistreat it like their other DC cartoons (besides TTG).
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).You guys better use the App then! Because Cartoon Network is abandoning Nielsen and thus TV Views dont matter as much anymore.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Which STILL needs a cable subscription to work, thus rendering the whole thing pointless.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).x3 If that happens, at least now my little sister will know the same pain I feel with the shows like Green Lantern & Justice League Action . . . she’s a fan of DC Super Hero Girls as evident with her having a Supergirl doll and always wanted to watch the specials on CN On Demand.
Also, yes that purple haired girl is Zatanna. Her appearance is based heavily on her Bronze Age look during the Satellite (and Detroit) era of Justice League.
It's cool that they added Jessica Cruz.
I really love like these designs. I just hope that girls will all have unique personalities, rather than being counterparts to MLP Mane Six.
I don't see why they would.

(Compares and contrasts the SBFF still and the DCSHG still)
Okay, Batgirl, two shades of purple: check. Purple cape with yellow on the inside: check. Green eyes and red hair: check and check.
And Supergirl, muscular build: check. Face of sheer "I kick butt, deal with it.": check. (Side note: does her haircut remind anyone else of New 52!Kara?)
Yup. This is looking very much like SBFF 2.0 (it'd be more like SBFF if it was Wonder Girl rather than Wonder Woman, but I guess having Diana was non-negotiable, so I'll let it slide).
I am happy.
RE: Zatanna: I seriously thought the purple-haired girl was Star Sapphire, but it doesn't look like she has a ring...
(Googles "zatanna bronze age".)
Huh, the more you know, am I right?
Overall, this is looking promising. I await to see if we'll get a demo reel of sorts via this year's SDCC. Other side note: I wonder who else we'll see. (Is hoping to see Nobody and Beacon...)

David Perez is the character designer for the Lauren Faust reboot, by the way.
Lauren Faust talks about Ivy on the new DC Super Hero Girls series.
So either she has secret identity or split personality. I heard that's a thing in newest reboot.
So does that mean this take of Poison Ivy is basically Thorn? If so, ten bucks say she would have lesbian feelings for Jessica Cruz; that goes the same for Harley Quinn.
Man I don’t think anybody but the most comic book nerd will get that referenece/allusion.
I know about Rose/Thorn character but I don't know anything about her/their romantic preferences.
Oh all that romance stuff was an allusion to Infinity Inc Annual #1. Specifically with Thorne/Rose relationship with Alan Scott Green Lantern, her being the biological mother of Jade & Obsidean, and that ending which saw Alan marrying his secretary Molly (aka Harlequin).

Zatanna's new design is... something? I didn't know who that was until I read it was Zee. I thought it was her (I'm not familiar with many mainstream DC characters like her, after all) but it just didn't look like Zatanna... I really like the redesigns. I thought the series was going to be the web-show with new animation, ala Monster High and the other similar series, but it looks like a retool.
Supergirl seems more feisty judging from the artwork. I bet she'll be more akin to Super Best Friends Forever than her DCSHG personality.
I hope this series doesn't get Screwed by the Network like JLA.
And yeah, not hard to see the MLP comparisons, surprisingly Bumblebee is the Fluttershy expy.

Huh, and here I thought Bumblebee will be the group’s Applejack. Ha Ha Ha! Get it? Because Applejack in the upcoming MLP reboot is going to be black . . . well at least the pony equivalent of a black person.
Or at least this show equivalent of Rarity. Ha! Ha! Ha! Get it? Bumblebee is compared to Wasp from the Marvel Universe, and Wasp (Jane van Dyne) is a fashion designer just like Rarity from MLP. Okay this is my last joke explaination.
Though from the descriptions its safe to say this show is definitely an unofficial continuation to to Super Best Friends Forever especially for Supergirl being a delinquent and Batgirl being a genki girl (hell Nicole Sullivan is even reprising her role as Kara).
And in regard to MLP Mane 6 comparisson it goea like this:
Supergirl is Rainbow Dash: just like in SBFF
Batgirl is Pinkie Pie: Again just like in SBFF
Zatanna is Rarity: Because its Zatanna. Her profession is that of a stage magician so she would be thw grandiose character
Bumblebee is Fluttershy: Completely subverting my expectation that Jessica Cruz will obviously be my pony waifu.
Jessica Cruz is Applejack: Since the whole activist deacription may relate to AJ’s status of being the goody two shoes of the mane six or something like that.
And Wonder Woman is Twilight Sparkles: Mostly due to main character leader status. Plus valedictorian would mean she is the biggest nerd of the group; take it from a nerd like me who manage to be in rhe top 15% in my local high school.
Applejack black? How does that work? Will she be a zebra?
DC Girls might end up being copies of MLP, I said. Don't see why, they said. No one listened. No one. Who's crazy now, huh?!
Judging by the first picture we're getting something that MLP never had though: proper anti-six, that's cool. Of course though half of them had to be Batman villains.
Wonder who will be Spike AKA most prominent dude in the show. Aside Batman that is. I bet there will be Batman.
Still, It's cool that SBFF is so contextless that this as well might be a contimuation with new designs, probably voices and twice as many main characters.
This article goes a bit more in-depth with the SDCC panel, and it discusses the villains in detail.
Also, here's a small clip that promotes Teen Titans Go! Apparently, there will be a new short that premiered before the movie.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I don't know if I'd call DCSHG a copy of FIM. Honestly, this just seems like how Faust does characters. The FIM characters are all expies of Milky Way characters after all.
I wouldn't be surprised if her Wonder Woman is just the Super Best Friends Forever Wonder Girl with a new name. Supergirl and Batgirl already are.
I'm pretty interested in it. I want a trailer already.
I think she based the Pony characters' characterizations off of ones she gave to the ones she owned (or the closest to the ones whose names were owned by Hasbro) as a kid.
Which means she ported the characterizations to her original IP, then to Ponies?
This series seems pretty interesting. Though I guess it'll be a bit of an adjustment getting used to Kara's personality here, especially coming from the CW version and the Rebirth version. Basically going from... I guess a combo of Pinkie Pie and Applejack (with a bit of Twilight Sparkle in the Rebirth version) to straight-up Rainbow Dash here. Ah, well, I'm into it. I was a fan of the SBFF shorts, so I'm so here for this. Also, I'm so happy Jessica Cruz is here! I get the feeling Diana might end up being my favorite, haha. I've always loved the valedictorian nerd types. Then again, maybe someone else will end up being my favorite. I have surprised myself with who I end up liking the most before.
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.I always assumed those were loosely based on her childhood memories, with the rest coming from Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls. Or maybe she just really likes the "jock, activist, shy guy, spunky girl, nerd, etc" archetype and has been using it for years.
Thanks for the remind—-
Oh, that's new, those redesigns are pretty good! Supergirl and Batgirl look pretty similar to their Super Best Friends Forever designs, as expected. Assuming the purple-haired student's Zatanna, she's got a very interesting attire to her that keeps a magical aesthetic in-tact, while being unique to her previous looks.
It's been a while, but the reboot plot seems consistent with the original run's Superhero School set-up in Metropolis.
