I'm not sure. Maybe the writers wanted to do more with her but couldn't. It was sort of like how in Wonder Woman: Bloodlines , where the movie would've originally focused on Wonder Woman's relationship with Cheetah, and how she would go through a redemption arc, but then Wonder Woman 1984 covered similar territory (not completely, but similar ideas) and Silver Swan was used instead. Maybe Cheetah would've been more active and possibly even become less of a jerk, but then someone higher up said "No, you can't use her that much."

I don't mind Jessica's beliefs (I actually think it's cool how creative she can get using her constructs in non-violent ways), but I find episodes that focus on making her beliefs sympathetic or "right" end up making them really obnoxious instead.
Also, she's against violence (like throwing a punch or creating a sword), but is okay with shooting her opponents with arrows?

I think the worse case of that is the episode where she fills in for Babs at the burrito place and selfishly refuses to actually do any work because she cares more about her beliefs than actually helping her friend.
Like dude, your friend asked you for a favor, stop being an asshole and do the fucking job you agreed too.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
I had that same issue with Sam in Danny Phantom. I couldn't find her sympathetic at all because she was so aggressive and forceful about her points, but the show itself rarely calls her out on it.
Its the reason why Jess is kinda my least favorite of the main girls.
Like sure Kara can be an asshole, but there's a certain level of obnoxiousness and trite clichés that make green characters like Jess very unbearable.
I have to say though during the episode when Diana lived with each of the girls to try out new homes, I snickered a bit when it was shown Jess has 2 moms. Of course the activist gets the 2 moms/dads parents.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Veggie Burrito Bucket is right up there with Hate Triangle for my list of disliked episodes. I've not seen the Diana as houseguest episode yet, which one is that?
see my completed Tangled (Varian) fanfic collection! https://archiveofourown.org/works/24467056/chapters/59049532Here's a bit of fun trivia. Some people who worked on the 2015 DC Superhero Girls on the creative side have done some work on the 2019 DC Superhero Girls. Bryan Turner, a storyboard artist on season 3, was the storyboard artist for "Working Stiff", and had Linked In says he's doing a bit more. Patrick Rieger (one of the season 5 story editors) and Tim Sheridan (who wrote on Lego DC Superhero Girls: Galactic Wonder) both wrote during season 1.
Speaking as a self-identified environmentalist and meat reductionist who reads/listens to a decent amount of vegan literature, I find it annoying that a lot of writers can't really do green characters right when they're in the spotlight, and Jessica is no exception. Most episodes that spotlight a green message tend to be awful, with probably the only exception being #MisgivingTree.
There is of course #VeggieBurritoBucket where she is forcing veggie items to the customers, and #SirensConch and #AngerManagement, where she defends invasive species which has devastating effects over the native population and harms bio-diversity. The thing about #VeggieBurritoBucket, it didn't really have to be that way. A slight change in framing would of put her in a much better light. Just make it so that she told the manager that she's vegan and ask if he can make accommodations to handle non-"meat" items (cleaning, veggie prep, cashier work, drinks, etc.) and that he's being unreasonable. Still get the hijinks, still has the payoff, Jessica looks less a big jerk. The thing is, when it's not the focus, Jessica doesn't stuff it down everyone's throats. There were plenty of episodes and shorts where they've had meat in front of her and other than looking a bit dour at times, she doesn't say anything. And there were plenty of episodes where good supporting characters will denigrate eating vegetables (Antiope in #AwesomeAuntAntiope and Hal in #AsteroidBelter). It would be nice if the green character's flaw wasn't that she was ignorant of the very thing she's an activist for.
A sneak peek of The Warrior And The Jester (which is airing on August 8 in the US) was uploaded to the Cartoon Network Africa You Tube channel.
Man, to earn so much ire over a short episode.
I haven't actually seen all of the shorts, I got bored somewhere halfway through. Just didn't felt like they're bringing their A-game for those, they feel too stock (there are a few picture day shorts and a few egg baby shorts, despite that the second one has a whole episode about it).
x3 I already see this episode being a "Shaggy Dog" Story for Diana.

I'm wondering if writers are setting up male villains as a counter to Invincibros. We have Hath-Set/Hawkman, Toyman/Aqualad, Sinestro/Green Lantern, and Cavalier/Green Arrow. We just need enemies for Flash (We have options, Captain Cold would be obvious) and Steve Trevor (If Maxwell Lord won't return and they'll use WW villain, options are down to Ares and Dr. Psycho...I seriously doubt it would be Egg Fu or Angle Man. Garth uses Superman's foe but he gets away with it because Toyman doubles as Kara's foe) Actually, that would be kinda ironic because DC Villain Girls aren't direct counterparts to Hero Girls.
I've actually enjoyed Toyman more than in the last episode. He actually gave me Boom!Eggman vibes, all flying in his mech and throwing lines like "The whole reason I pilot a giant mech is so I don't have to be self-aware".
I feel like writers really like to team up Bumblebee with other heroes to make up for the lack of her own episodes. Illusions Of Grandeur, Tween Titans, The Bird And The Bee, Working Stiff, The Minus (not exactly team-up but she's the second most important character), and now, Powerless.
Funny how every Gordon episode features the edgiest 90s-iest villains. They did overall a pretty good job with Bane, I feel like his days of being used as generic Brute in adaptations are finally over...I just wish that people would come up with literally any other way to defeat him than "pull off the pipe". This is getting so old.
Another thing...I feel like this season has weaker character designs and action scenes than the first one. This is easily where Deathstroke wins over Bane.
Maybe he hasn't unlocked his full potential yet. We might get an Atlantis episode where he taps fully into his heritage and proclaims "Yes! I can talk to fish!" dramatically much to no one's enthusiasm. "That's...that's really great, Garth."

It is odd that the writers have yet to bring her back after presenting her as the show's Knight of Cerebus.
