I think this sounds like a supertrope to the others. The page itself has only three examples, and still manages to duplicate one. The description is also needlessly sarcastic and whiny. Not sure if it's worth keeping.
- Low Interaction Mechanic: Any kind of reduced player control. Seems to involve both temporary reductions and games that aren't very interactive in the first place.
- Controllable Helplessness: Can't do anything meaningful, other than perhaps forward the dialogue, or action in a similar way.
- Expository Gameplay Limitation: Reducing the player control for the purpose of focusing attention to exposition.
- Injured Player Character Stage: Reduced number of actions due to injury of the character. Also Gameplay and Story Integration.
- Related tropes:
- No-Gear Level: Similar to the above. Might not reduce the number of actions if gear only provides stats, or are functionally replacable (like different weapons), so it's not a subtrope.
- Press X to Not Die (and Press X to Die): Actually different, since it's usually about being able to do something different in a specific situation, which technically adds to what you can do.
Yeah the trope itself needs to be replaced.
Really it's mostly about scripted cutscenes that give the player limited control over, like say the opening to Skyrim you are in a cutscene but can't move but you have control over the camera and can look around all you want while the script plays or you are in a Walk and Talk conversation with someone so you actually gotta keep walking to keep up while they jabber on.
Yeah. Cut and take the supertrope to YKTTW? With a more neutral writ up?
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickWho ever does it should make it come from a more positive perspective. It's not wresting away most of the control, it's allowing more interaction into other wise traditionally static cutscenes where you are watching a scene.
I suck at description writing though >.<.

The description for this trope is rather vague and written in a very complain-y tone. It was launched two years ago and has zero wicks and has yet to be indexed. The kind of thing I think it's describing is already adequately covered by Injured Player Character Stage, Controllable Helplessness and Expository Gameplay Limitation, and these tropes' descriptions are more specific and neutral to boot.
