I think enough remakes of Kong have been made as it is, IMO this new direction taken since the 2017 film has been for the best instead of rehashing the original film over and over (and much better than how King Kong Escapes and King Kong Lives did it). Gives us a chance to see plotlines similar to the ones used in the comic books and novelizations that deal with other things than Kong being taken from Skull Island and dying.

Prettiest Meta Knight Gijinka, nglThat's what I'd figure as well. I imagine they'll introduce elements from King Kong Escapes too. Another mad scientist trying to harvest the earth's core for a rare element with a mechanized kaiju might be a bit of a retread, but I imagine at least the Gorosaurus could show up and they might just reveal Dr. Serizawa jr is alive to slot him in Dr. Hu's role.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."
Yeah, a lot of monsters could use more love in general, like Gorosaurus and the aforementioned Varan. Others could include Ebirah, Hedorah and even Gabara.

Funny how for how much the original Son of Kong gets flack and is usually forgotten about, it left its mark on the mythos since Skull Island is only destroyed in that film at the end and has been consistently destroyed in a lot of adaptations ever since.
And yeah, pls let Kiko live and have adventures with his human friends in a series styled after Kong: The Animated Series
Prettiest Meta Knight Gijinka, nglKiko's presence pretty much confirms that Kong isn't the last of his kind in the original film regardless of whether or not his actually his child. Everyone just assumed he was the only giant ape because we only saw him but we also only saw one of each other animal as well. It wasn't until later films came along where it became canon.

The Iwi in Kong: Skull Island were mostly played by actors of East Asian and Southeast Asian descent.

I would like to see Cthulu (or Lovecraftian lore) in the Monster Verse

In all honesty, if they do go with Son of Kong, perhaps the story will involve Kong finding an orphaned member of his kind in the Hollow Earth and trying to find more of his kind.
