Thank you. :)
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.I did indeed have a good time. :) The movie is fantastically amazing.
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.Nice to know you loved it, too!
In other talks, anyone else feel the Godzilla trilogy feels like a bit of a remake of the Heisei Gamera trilogy?
- 2014 Godzilla/Guardian of the Universe'': Ancient Kaiju awakens and fights his old nemesis species that threaten to overrun the world, initially they nearly lose but eventually triumph with some small help from humans.
- King of the Monsters/Advent of Legion: Extraterrestrial threat comes down to terraform Earth into a suitable environment for it, the heroic Kaiju are temporarily "killed/defeated" by a massive explosion then resurrected by sacrificing something, humanity helps in the fight directly and the heroic Kaiju obliterate their foes with a Super Mode after being empowered.
- Godzilla vs. Kong/Awakening of Irys (admittedly a bit of a stretch): Humanity sees the Heroic Kaiju as a threat due to destruction caused by them and fights their previous ally, Heroic Kaiju seeks out an ancient rival, heroic Kaiju nearly die to the real villain of the film but are assisted by a second wind and distraction into a victory.
Thank you. :)
Just one question, though. Did I miss a movie or something? :S I'm having a bit of trouble remembering if Godzilla fought with King Ghidorah recently. ^_^;;
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.In the previous movie in the series - Godzilla King of the Monsters.
It's where the head is from.
The left side got decapitated in the middle of the film, though he grew it back.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Aw nuts, I did miss one. x_x ^_^;;
Princess Aurora is underrated, pass it on.Should have been called Godzilla vs. Kong: Kevin's Revenge.
GIVE ME YOUR FACESo what happened to Jonah who took the head in the first place ?
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."The novelization implies he's the one who sold the head to Apex, very likely in order to let them resurrect Ghidorah through MechaGodzilla and continue his plans of human extinction through it
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."Wasn't Serizawa the one that bought the head in the first place?
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.You know, it's funny that the movie is ostensibly about Godzilla fighting Kong, but the main conflict is actually between Godzilla and Apex, where Apex tries to build Mechagodzilla and Godzilla tries to stop them. Kong is tenuously related to that conflict at best, and has to be pretty much literally dragged into it.
Also Godzilla is kind of a dick to Kong for flimsy reasons and tries to kill him over and over, even though Kong only starts the fight once
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."That's actually how the original King Kong vs. Godzilla played out too.
King Kong is dragged into fighting Godzilla by humans.
Hilariously, the first round consisted of Godzilla using atomic breath to singe Kong, and Kong deciding to turn around and walk away. Because he's not an idiot.
The humans are kind of assholes to Kong in this movie.

Disgusted, but not surprisedThey mention that Godzilla and Kong's species are ancient enemies, but is Kong himself even aware of that?
"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimHe definitely isn't, I mean even when Godzilla nearly killed him, he's more interested in seeking out his species' homeland to see if he can find more of his kind.
Whatever was in the past, it's Godzilla who pettily clings on to it even when his "rival" doesn't even cares to remotely continue the rivalry

"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."Kong's basically the equivalent of a feral child since he was orphaned at a relatively young age and was left to fend for himself. He knows jack and shit about his race's heritage.
Disgusted, but not surprisedYeah, I was saying throughout the movie that Kong is taking this pretty well for someone who was literally hauled to Antarctica against his will.
And like I said, that's also the situation in the original 1962 movie. Kong has to be air dropped into fighting Godzilla.
Kong really doesn't want to fight Godzilla if he can avoid it and only does so when he has no other choice.

Disgusted, but not surprisedHe's taking it better because of Jia, the child who has an empathetic bond with him. The movie makes it pretty clear they'd have to probably actively fight Kong to drag him outta there if she didn't convince him to go along peacefully. It's Kong basically shrugging and going "I trust you, kid, so I'm going along, but this shit is wack."
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Kong is literally too old for this shit, which probably explains all the Shout-Out poses to various 80s action heroes, including one they acknowledged in the credits.
Ironic, given Godzilla is way older.
I missed the part where that's my problem.Kong was signed up for a movie where he goes to his ancestral homeland and protects the one person he considers family.
Issue is that nobody told him about the giant radioactive lizard that wants to kick his ass over a metaphorical dick measuring contest.
Hope you have fun
