Honestly, I'm just more baffled by the fact that for Mechagodzilla, the filmmakers decided to rip off Galvatron from Transformers: Age of Extinction of all fricken things.

To be fair Kiryu was essentially the Age of Extinction Galvatron, being that the mecha was built around the actual skeleton of the original Godzilla and apparently, traces of Godzilla's DNA on the bones has Genetic Memory which in turns causes Kiryu to go a rampage when it remembers it was Godzilla with a hatred for Tokyo.
Yeah, it's more likely the creators were paying an homage to Kiryu than ripping off Galvatron.
The way Mechagodzilla bites it thanks to his controls being shorted out also reminds me of how Mechagodzilla was defeated in Terror of Mechagodzilla. In that film, Mechagodzilla is only beaten thanks to the Heroic Sacrifice of the cyborg Mad Scientist's Beautiful Daughter who had Mechagodzilla's control system imbedded in her own body.

Godzilla doesn't really need to use his brain since he has enough brawn to not matter in the equation. To him, this is just a daily exercise. Kong has to think outside the box and use unorthodox methods to essentially stay in the game. And it should be evident that once Godzilla realizes that Kong is a much tougher opponent than he initially thought, he cut loose and easily clobbers Kong with no mercy.

There are differing factors of intelligence, all animals have biological attributes that make them behave in different ways but may not be significantly more or less smarter than the other (ie gorillas have dexterity that lets them interact with their hands, while dogs lead more with their nose and mouth). Godzilla is intelligent and has a notable personality, but given his size, long tail and atomic breath leans more into that rather than interacting with the environment or biting the enemy. Kong is quicker and more acrobatic, using wrestler moves instead of going for raw power - at least here, since in Skull Island he was the biggest and nastiest thing around.
Comics are just words and pictures. You can do anything with words and pictures.I do like how when they can't figure out how to hack Mechagodzilla they dump booze on the terminal to short him out. Though if I were in that situation, when Mechagodzilla starts rampaging my next action would probably be to run into the room with the Ghidorah brain and just start ripping chunks out.
Granted he's a black guy so I guess that kinda evens it out.
Though its why I preferred Kong's group overall. Liked the characters overall and felt they served a purpose while..... I guess Godzilla's group just felt really random and pointless.
Like the people following Kong all have something of a connection or reason to be there. Godzilla's group is basically just a random gaggle of dumb conspiracy theorists and a poor schlub who somehow stumble their way into the plot.
Fun movie though. Goddamn that was some incredible action.
In a setting where they now have a government organization rise to become it's own N.G.O. Superpower with dozens of expansive black sites, with the Oxygen Destroyer being deployed in the same breath as it's revealed, the nuances of crackpot conspiracy theorists do not really seem applicable.

For like the first 20 minutes, there was some audio problems on the family TV and we couldn't hear the dialogue. We only fixed it around when Nathan was recruited so I have heard little about whatever the guy blathered.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Among one of his claims was that APEX’s elevator goes to hell.
If so, then they should’ve taken the pole.
Ladies And Gentlemen, For Your Consideration, King Kong With A Lightsaber: https://youtu.be/wYjH9dDFsRo
Saw it.
I enjoyed it. Kong's a much stronger protagonist than Godzilla, though, and this film kinds of cement it. He gets allowed a much wider range of emotions and even has something of a character arc here, so his side of the film (with the hollow earth stuff and the King Arthur parallels, complete with a metaphorical Excalibur) is much more interesting while Godzilla is pretty one-note.
The human side as usual is pretty weak (Serizawa is almost laughably useless), but the little deaf girl steals everybody's thunder and the film should have just been about her and Kong.
For the titular fight, they're now basically 1-1. We need a rubber match.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Godzilla works best when you're not sure if he's fighting alongside you or against you. He's a Wild Card that must be tread with care and caution, something to be feared or respected. A force of nature, a god for all purpose and intent.
Where as Kong represents the underdog, the one you always root for and cry for when he dies (or is nearly dead) since his debut. Naturally, he's always going to be the protagonist whenever there's a fight between him and Godzilla (since Godzilla is never the underdog in fight against King Kong for obvious reasons).
Makes sense when you consider their movies of origin. I am talking the classic black and white movies.
Godzilla from the start was an embodiment of disaster and destruction. We are meant to find him scary from start to finish.
King Kong otoh went from a god to a sideshow attraction. We are meant to find him scary at first but pitiful and relatable by the time of his death.

Making Mechagodzilla is simply begging for trouble. Normally, humanity would be beneath the notice of the Titans since there's really nothing that humans could do to them. But when you decide to make a mechanical Titan designed to kill other Titans... well, if the bugs can create a Terminator to wipe out mankind, do you think humans would be merciful to the bugs after discovering they can do this?
