Liam's laser melted through the turret's housing as it swiveled to aim at his new location, causing it to detach entirely, noisily clattering off the roof.
"I think you oughtta," Fell said in reply to Vespa's question. "At least until it's safe to leave."
Vespa was sitting behind a wall only a few feet away from where she had tried to engage a grenade in close combat, and could hear repeated laser fire on the floor directly below her.
Bogdan's impromptu road spikes looked as good as they were going to get. His sensors picked up a faint noise through the garage door - what sounded like "Prepare for detonation in five..."
Flesh is a design flaw. They weren't giving him a choice, Bai felt. He felt like he had offered them a chance to stay down, to not throw their lives away for some cause, but they didn't accept. In his eyes, they looked almost pitiful as they were still laying on the ground in a pile, a bit of fear in their eyes as he stood over them. He rationalized it as removing armed insurgents, opted to keep it quick, and pulled the trigger multiple times in their directions.
"All right. Sounds like....they're keeping the looks busy. We doing- agh- we doing ok?"
Vespa kept both hands on the pistol, finger off the trigger for the second, as she rocked back and forth slightly.
"Hey, uh... you guys should be frig- careful. I'm going to shoot first and ask questions.....later if anyone comes a knockin'."

Taking aim a few last times, Forlorn tried to cover Bogdan's escape. However, he couldn't afford to use up too much time in case they decided to start shooting at him again, and rolled away from the window and slung the rifle.
He ran down the stairs, taking care not to go near the door to the room Vespa was in, lest he accidentally be involved in a friendly-fire incident. "Mr. Chun," he said over the radio as he ran. "I took out the turret covering us and the robot's got Zaivous locked up in the garage. We're going to need some heavy firepower if there's anything in there."
Waiting a few seconds for Bell and Mr. Chun to finish executing the guards before he could jump down the final flight of stairs, Forlorn took stock of the assorted corpses, using his eye to scan the bodies for any and all usable weapons and items they might have on them.
Bai's Jackhammer made quick work of the guards, penetrating their armor easily at that range. Turning away from the guard behind the corner to fire at Mr. Chun's targets, Bell's systems issued a warning as she took laser fire to her back. Her knight's plate ablated the beams well enough, allowing her to shrug them off until she could be bothered to acknowledge him with another burst from her Thunderbolt.
Liam would find a dozen or so laser rifles and four autopistols among the carnage, as well as four collapsable shields, currently affixed to the left gloves of their owners. There remained one of the heli-bladed grenades on the ground next to one of them, yet unused.
Bogdan's mechanical legs took him away from the garage just as the large metal door was blown off, and for a moment it looked as if it would land across his impromptu spikes on the ramp, creating something of a safe bridge over his hard work. It didn't come close to covering the entire jagged ramp, however. The black SUV Fell promised would be there immediately floored it, hurtling through the smoke and out of the underground opening, tearing up its tweels on the concrete protrusions. The vehicle was designed to take punishment, though, and kept moving along, although at a reduced speed.
"Okay, shit," returned Fell's voice, "Target's on the move. Miss M., any chance you can take the wheel and get after him? Or maybe someone can provide long-range support while he's still visible?"
A moment later, four more guards poured out of the garage behind it, apparently to cover the SUV's escape. They were clearly better armed and armored, deploying large, machinegun-like weapons from behind the cover of the ramp's edges that fired an almost continuous stream of violet lasers at the worker drone as he retreated for the distant van, turret in hand.
From the guards' radio came, "Rendezvous with the escort in one minute. We'll get the Father to safety. Die with dignity, brothers."

"Bell, get Vespa to the van!" Forlorn shouted as he picked up the heli grenade, placing it on his strap where he had previously had his own grenade, and then picked up a pair of the best-looking laser rifles from the deceased guards. Holding one in each hand, the targeting computer in his eye adjusted as he darted out of the building.
Activating the rollers in his boots, he raced off in the direction of the escaping SUV.
"I-I can—", nodding, taking off the headset and hurrying through to the driver's seat. She took after the wheel, and checked the engine, making sure its on. After which, taking upon her experience of driving in the old country's jagged roads and unkempt dirt paths, starts to drive at speed.
Internally, all her professional training, she bemoaned, has not prepared her for this. Speeding up, and occasionally looking back to make sure Malware is fine, she kept Anton by the door, ready to jump out on a moment's notice.
"Mr. Fell, can you get us another van our way? J-Just in case."
Bodan meanwhile, shrugged off the lasers. Unlike bullets, lasers dissipates and doesn't leave much effect unless its-continuous. As the van drives close, Anton opened the door and helped Bogdan and the turret in.

всегда веренBai could see the light show emerging from the garage, and he quickly started setting up. Not wanting to risk tanking the lasers, even from his shielded position, he stepped back a few feet from the window and kneeled. Raising his grenade launcher, he quickly inputted the garage door's coords into his HUD. Instantly, the HUD painted the expected flightpath of a grenade, which should land very neatly directly behind the advancing group.
His arms pointed the launcher towards them, the suit corrected to as close of a perfect angle as it could get, and Bai pulled the trigger. Even before the grenade had landed, he quickly turned around and started exfiltrating back towards the van.
"Sent one a while back, actually, Miss M., but it won't be there for a good forty-five minutes," Fell replied. "This will probably be over, one way or another, by then. Don't let him get away."
Half of the rapid-fire lasers switched from the fleeing Bogdan to the van as it entered their view, the other half to Liam as he gained on the guards' spiritual father. The van's armor took a broadside, and Liam found that his clothing was on fire before Bai's grenade halted the hail of lasers.
The elites in their thicker armor seemed to shake off the mortar hit, however, and scattered from the garage like agitated fireants before another grenade could be launched into their midst.
Flesh is a design flaw. She gave a nod out of reflex, veering closer and closer—This, is likely to be out of her depth. Her hand is shaking quite-terribly.
Still, a job—is still a job. She voiced a code to Anton, who opened the door just as Bodan hopped inside. After depositing it in a corner, Bogdan and Anton shielded Malware from any fire that went through with their body, while one of them occasionally looks at the door and the holes to see if they are within jumping distance from the Father's van.
всегда веренGoing as fast as the suit would let him, Bai jumped through the already abused entry that had been used quite often that night. Considering that it looked like night, instead of a bright red and purple day outside, his singular grenade did the trick.
He stopped outside of the building and positioned himself one more time. He removed the next fragmentation grenade from its launcher, and inserted an IR smoke grenade. Soon enough, the HUD painted another trajectory, and he sent the grenade forth, trying to land it in front of the squad. It had better land, as he had minimal cover from this angle. At the same time as all of this, he called over the comlink, saying "This should be enough cover. Where am I needed next?"

Somewhere
Not having too many options, Forlorn threw the rifle in his right hand away and started to wrangle his right arm out of his trenchcoat. With his left hand, though, he focused on the vehicle ahead with his eyes and let the automated systems take over firing the rifle, targeting the wheels on the SUV.
Bai's smoke kept their enemies from firing for the moment, allowing Liam and Anastya to chase the SUV unthreatened. Liam's lasers found their target, but the vehicle's damaged wheels proved remarkably heat-resistant. Still, in their state its overall speed was lower than his or the van's, and they were catching up. Anton was soon within his robotic legs' considerable jumping distance.
Then the SUV's roof opened, and what Liam at first thought was another pop-up turret raised out of the hatch. Rather, it was a guard standing behind a shielded, pintle-mounted machine gun, pointing right at him.

Flesh is a design flaw.Bell nodded her head at the last instructions, leaving the battlefield to go back with full haste towards Vespa... making sure to knock as instructed to avoid any friendly fire and calling her on the intercomm anyway to let her know she was there "There we go... don't worry, this knight is getting you out of here"
The machine-gunner atop the SUV was spun, smasming hands squeezing off a few stray shots into the empty fields around the road as his ribs were demolished by Anton's blow. He hung limply out of the roof of the vehicle, no longer a threat. Bogdan, meanwhile, was busy cutting through the vehicle's hood. This caused the driver to swerve back and forth in an attempt to shake the robot off, but his vice-grip on the car was too solid. Once he made a big enough hole in the front armor, Bogdan then applied over 45,000 degrees Fahrenheit to the electric motor.
With a bright flash and a loud snap from the engine block, he SUV was soon decelerating, not having gotten far from the property. The headlights of a convoy of several other vehicles could be seen down the road, however.

"Alright, hide out in here for now. Chun should have the bottom floor covered for now, but keep your eyes open just in case," Forlorn said, dropping Vespa off in a room on the second floor. He made sure to close the door on the way out, and then went back up to the third floor, this time approaching one of the side windows.
Unslinging the sniper rifle again, he lined it up in the general direction of the turret from memory in order to have a good starting angle, and then quickly popped up. He fired at the turret, hoping to take it out before ducking back to cover.
