This is all leading to Asta being exiled and having to go that conveniently unexplored Heart Kingdom, isn't it?

To be fair, Yami tried to confirm if Vangeance was Patri, but was fooled. Julius didn't have any solid proof so he did nothing.

Fair? What's that?

But yeah, it is true they both tried to figure things out, but couldn't quite find anything to prove it.

Unsubtle as it all is, this judgement is shaping up to be Black Clover's most interesting plot decision so far. I'm the whole reincarnation fiasco lead to something potentially much better.

Well Asta's reply to the alternative of the show trial being the magic knights paying for their crimes is "Fiat iustitia, ruat caelum!"

I think it actually works better for the Black Bulls though.

You can tell Tabata is kinda stalling with this arc.

Nothing much actually happened in this chapter, just reacting to Asta's imprisonment, smug nobles being smug nobles, & the Bulls going "Asta's my friend" each.

The latter is especially noticiable padding considering 3 pages were taken of just bits of the Bulls & them each doing their exclamations.

This arc is clearly to provide a a break while the actually important stuff is being developed.

Yeesh, that's one weird way to look at this chapter when it has been very well-received.

At least we saw the other characters on what they are doing post-Elf Invasion on their reactions to Asta being treated as a criminal. Then, the Black Bulls arrived just as Asta was about to be condemned to death along with threats to the church that raised him and it turns out that the actual date of said trial was misled so no one else would go into Asta's defense but Yami and his squad did. I haven't felt this moved since the Enis Lobby Arc in One Piece.

Also, Secre for Black Bulls yes.

I’m just wondering if there actually is gonna be a point to all this like the theory that Asta is being exiled & that is the reason why he is gonna travel to one of the other kingdoms.

Nero is finally an official Black Bull and plus the Royal Captains have made the save along with Julius using his position to save Asta from execution.

I guess that's what happens when you try to suppress certain feelings for so long instead of dealing with them in a healthy manner.

But supressing them is how things are always handled in Manga.

Asta is at least a bit closer to the truth than Yami is. Still way off, but closer.

Just caught up… Damn, we're only 5 chapters in and this is already my favorite arc. This series is finally slowing down a bit, thank god.

I never thought I'd like Charlotte more as a romcom protagonist either.

...Asta is a little sharper than most Shonen protagonists.

He's still off, but it feel like with the right clues, that tiny brain of his might actually catch on fully....or am I giving him too much credit.

I was hoping they'd be like "Of course you're in love with Captain Yami, was that supposed to be a secret?" but this worked too.

A bit stereotypical, but still funny. And makes Sol even more the worst though, to know she was the only one really like this.

Ha only Sol genuinly bought into the man-hating crap, that's both hilarious & sad.

I'm a bit curious at how Yami would react to a bona fide love confession. I'm not sure his brain can even compute the concept of "wuv".
