  • Name: Valsione R (and Lune Zoldark)
  • Work of Origin: Masoukishin
  • Appearance: Lune is a blonde girl with a white top, blue wristbands, a blue headband, and torn jeans. Valsione is a gigantic armored version of her with pink hair and green eyes.
  • Powers, Weapons and Abilities:
    • Divine Arm: A sword used for melee combat. An improvement over the Valsione's Divine Arm.
    • Divine Blade: A powerful katana made of Orichalconium, used for melee combat.
    • Hyper Beam Cannon: A beam cannon that fires large beam shots.
    • Psycho Blaster: A very powerful attack, capable of hitting multiple enemy targets. Several bursts of energy originate from the Valsione hands and expand in a spherical area, damaging all enemies within the weapon's range. While very different technologically, its use is very similar, but less powerful, than the Cybuster's Cyflash attack.
    • Makyuu Mirage Ball: The Valsione summons two spheres of energy from the saucers in her shoulders and then merges them into one ball of spiral energy. Then, sends the ball to the sky and volleys it to her target, destroying it in an energy explosion.
    • Cross Saucer: A pair of disk-like weapons, mounted on the Valsione R's shoulders, are launched, flying towards its target, striking it several times in a cutting fashion.
    • Moebius Jade: An upgraded form of the standard Cross Saucer attack. The saucers are launched, but insteand of flying towards the target, both saucers fly in circles over the Valsione, then crash one with other, and shatter into multiple "gems" of energy. Then the Valsione sends the "gems" to attack her target.
    • Cross Smasher: The Valsione fires a pair of different colored beams that spiral around each other into an enemy with a drilling effect. Note that this is the same weapon mounted on the Valsion.
    • Kakusan Cross Smasher: An upgraded form of the standard Cross Smasher attack. The Valsione fires multiples Cross Smashers from all sides to one target.
    • Engetsu Sappou: The final and most powerful attack of the Valsione R. Upon summoning its Divine Blade, the Valsione R brandishes its weapon in a circular motion. With the view of a full moon in the background, the Valsione R flies high into the sky, then delivers a thunderous diagonal slash at its target, following up with a powerful horizontal slash.
  • Personality: Lune Zoldark is an athletic tomboy who loves piloting robots.
  • Backstory: Lune Zoldark is the daughter of the former leader and brilliant mad scientist, Bian Zoldark. After joining the Earth Federation forces over a misunderstanding and a bunch of robot wars, Lune attempts to retire in Las Gias, but a portal sucked up Valsione and Lune, bringing her to the new world.

Alright. Feel free to come back if you find something that piques your interest.

Vox's signup is still on the way, I believe, and after that there should be room for one or two more participants.

  • Name: Odin, piloted by Tychus Findlay
  • Work of Origin: Starcraft II
  • Appearance: The single greatest creation in the history of mankind, according to its pilot. As for scale... This is a guy in seven-foot PowerArmor (same as Tychus) next to a Thor, the Thor being the downgraded version of the Odin (a transport ship that can carry three Thors can't fit the Odin).
  • Powers, Weapons and Abilities: Multiple heavy weapons systems including anti-ground particle cannons, anti-air missiles, artillery barrages and a tactical nuke launcher, and while it's not equiped for melee combat, it has no minimum range. Tychus has Power Armor which can't be removed without killing him, a gatling gun and grenades. Terran vehicles are shielded against radiation and vaccum.
  • Personality: Willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, as long as it's well paid. Little to no morals, enjoys cigars, getting drunk and into fights and causing wanton destruction. That said, he is a very faithful friend.
  • Backstory: A friend of outlaw Jim Raynor, he took the blame for both when they were caught and ended up in prison without ratting him out. Recently released, placed in Power Armor that kills him if he tries to get out, and on a mission to kill Sarah Kerrigan. On finding the Super Prototype Odin, Findlay smuggles himself inside and commandeers it, expecing to lay waste to a suburb of the Planet City Korhal.

The tactical nuke launcher might have to be nerfed or excised completely. Other than that, I think it should be fine.

SC has issues with Units Not to Scale, so it's not an instant-win thing. The range and damage are nowhere near RL nukes, it's more a very large bomb with a mushroom cloud.

@Locoman: Would it be alright to also bring in the Protectobots' headquarters, to serve as their base and repair bay?

Also, what do you think about the mass-shifting deal for Defensor? Should I forgo it (from most screenshots of Defensor in the G1 cartoon, they don't appear to mass-shift) or give him an extra height boost so he stands a bit more of a chance (maybe) against Prowlastator? tongue

Locoman Since: Nov, 2010
#59: Jul 24th 2015 at 1:47:56 PM

Yeah, the Protectobot base should be fine. I'll elaborate more on that in a little bit. In terms of mass-shifting go crazy; God only knows how big or how small combiners are supposed to be.

If it helps any, he's about a head smaller than Devastator in the Combiner Wars series, which would peg him at about 38 meters or so, but it seems like you're taking inspiration from the Sunbow cartoon where bringing up scale or consistent proportions only earns derisive laughter.

[down] Yep, that works out.

^^^ With a very large radius rather than single-target damage (damage-wise, it does 500 vs buildings, 300 vs units, knowing that a standard tank has 150 HP) and no fallout. It gets used once in the entire game, so he won't be throwing it around every other battle.

@Locoman: See, I know that scale in Transformers (ESPECIALLY G1) is eff'd in the aft, but that IDW cover of Windblade standing on Defensor just irks me. tongue Originally I was going to peg him at 20 meters, but what if I go for 30 instead as a mild compromise between 'mostly-accurate scale' and 'how did metal grow like that?'

And yeah, I'm going for the G1 Protectobots here, but using their Combiner Wars/Unite Warriors appearances (so they look cooler wink). (The toys of the five are the best of the line, I think, and they've been on my mind lately. tongue)

  • Name: Preytor.
  • Work of Origin: War of the Monsters
  • Appearance: [1] [2]. Approximately 40 metres tall.
  • Powers, Weapons and Abilities: Preytor is a deadly hand-to-hand combatant with giant bladed appendages. She can also spit corrosive slime at enemies, as well as gigantic leech-like parasites that latch onto opponents and do sustained damage. She can also fly and move with surprising speed and agility.
  • Personality: Preytor is in essence a mindless insect, driven by animal instincts to survive: she has no goals or desires beyond surviving and thriving, securing food and territory, and destroying anything perceived as a threat.
  • History: Preytor was once an ordinary praying mantis that had mutated due to exposure to alien fuel by a scientist researching the effects of the fuel on normal animals. She grew to a monstrous size and proceeded to devour the scientist and join the war of the monsters.

That should work out. There are plenty of wild islands for her to roam free between battles if you're so inclined, or you can just have her wreak havoc in the city. tongue

Whew, this took a while - mostly because I was technically writing six character profiles. tongue

  • Team: The Protectobots
  • Work of Origin: Transformers: Generation One
  • Appearance: "Reporting for duty!"
  • Backstory: The Protectobots are a sub-team of Autobots who specialize in rescue and defensive operations, led by the charismatic and high-energy Hot Spot. They have been given permission to operate separately from Optimus Prime's team with a hidden base of their own, allowing them to quickly respond to emergency situations as the need arises.

  • Name: Hot Spot
    • Function: Protectobot Leader
      • "Rust never sleeps, and neither do I."
  • Appearance: Height: 10 meters
  • Powers, Weapons and Abilities:
    • Water Cannon: a powerful high-pressure water cannon mounted onto the ladder platform, which is capable of shooting at a distance up to 350 meters before beginning to lose force. Useful for dousing large fires from a safe distance or forcing opponents off-balance. Hot Spot carries a water reservoir on his body, but he can also link to fire hydrants and other sources of water to maintain a steady stream.
    • Fireball Cannon x2: Hot Spot's personal sidearms. Able to shoot blasts of blue fire at up to 1100˚C, with a range of 2.5 km. In vehicle mode, they can be mounted either on the sides of his ladder turntable, or on the sides of the ladder platform.
    • Improved Carrying Capability: Able to bear 30 metric tons for a limited amount of time. Hot Spot has been known to exceed this limit in times of extreme duress, though it leaves even him worn out afterward.
    • Combiner: forms the torso of Defensor.
  • Personality: Hot Spot is a 'Bot who leads his team by example. Whether it's a raging battle or a raging fire, he'll dive right into the thick of it alongside his allies – and he wouldn't have it any other way. He has many traits that tailor-fit him to this role: quick-thinking, charismatic, strong, tough and well-armed. His teammates find his endless energy inspiring – if a bit exhausting – but this specific trait lets him command even the most philosophically different of 'Bots like Blades and First Aid as a tight-knit unit.

  • Name: Blades
    • Function: Air Support (technically)
      • "War's a dirty game – and I'm a dirty player!"
  • Appearance: Height: 5.5 meters
  • Powers, Weapons and Abilities:
    • Twin-Barrel Chain Gun: handheld heavy weapon custom-made for Blades. It can fire slug-based rounds or energy blasts at impressive speeds - though Blades' reckless nature often means he runs out of ammo/energy early into the fight.
    • Smart Missile Launchers x2: arm-mounted missile launchers that fire 'smart' rockets; these seek targets based on encoded computer images – meaning the longer Blades is able to keep his opponent in sight, the greater the homing capability of these weapons becomes.
    • Photon Rifle: standard defensive sidearm for Cybertronian rescue units. Blasts from this weapon are as strong as flashes of lights equal to 5000-watt light bulbs, capable of temporarily blinding other mechanical life forms and damaging most types of visual equipment... though Blades has modified his copy of the weapon, giving it a setting that drains its power reserve but can burn through medium-strength armor in a few hits.
    • Rotor Blades: technically not one of his 'main' weapons, Blades nevertheless uses his alt mode helicopter blades – whose durability has been improved to resist attempts to shoot him out of the sky – as improvised swords. Unfortunately, this also means that if they are damaged or destroyed in a fight, Blades will be unable to move in alt mode.
    • Combiner: can form any limb for Defensor; nominally the right arm.
  • Personality: Blades does not fight fair. The very definition of a 'street fighter', he prefers close combat to the ranged keep-away style his loadout and alt mode should nominally give him, reveling in the thrill of a face-to-face battle. Still, he wouldn't be so obsessed with getting up close and personal if he wasn't good at it in some way; his lighter frame and speedier choice of vehicle mode allows him to bob and weave around opponents, getting them tangled up before he closes in for the kill.

  • Name: First Aid
    • Function: Doctor
      • "An ounce of maintenance is worth a pound of cure."
  • Appearance: Height: 5.7 meters
  • Powers, Weapons and Abilities:
    • Crystallizer Cannon: a quad-barreled device that fires beams that weaken the crystalline structure of metal. At lower settings, it can break through debris and safely remove metal shrapnel from allies; at higher settings, it can be used on parts of an enemy robot, causing the afflicted pieces to shatter like glass when struck.
    • Cyber Cleaver: though the last weapon one would expect a 'Bot like First Aid to have, this melee armament has repair-based uses as well. The blade is sharp enough to cut through medium-strength metals – perfect for reaching damaged machinery or carefully cutting through structurally-compromised debris.
    • Precision Laser x2: beam emitters that are mounted into his fists. His improved wrist motion lets him use these for delicate tasks such as surgery, though they are not as powerful as some standard Cybertronian weaponry.
    • Combiner: can form any limb for Defensor; nominally the left arm.
  • Personality: First Aid is an soft-spoken and compassionate sort, always willing to lend a hand to any injured being – he's even been seen speaking with and 'calming' broken non-sentient machinery. His cautious and meticulous manner serves him well as a Cybertronian doctor, though it can make him indecisive and slow to respond at times. When push comes to shove, though, he's willing to jump into the fray himself in order to save and protect others as best he can.

  • Name: Groove
    • Function: Scout
      • "War is a problem, never a solution."
  • Appearance: Height: 6 meters (with mass-shifting) – Length: 2.3 meters (human-scale vehicle mode)
  • Powers, Weapons and Abilities:
    • Twin Vaporator: multi-barreled, all-purpose weapon that can fire a variety of debilitating mists – oxidizing, freezing and corrosive. Groove must keep wind speed and direction in mind when using this, as the mists can easily be blown back towards his allies if he isn't paying attention.
    • Photon Pistol: standard defensive sidearm for Cybertronian rescue units. Blasts from this weapon are as strong as flashes of lights equal to 5000-watt light bulbs, capable of temporarily blinding other mechanical life forms and damaging most types of visual equipment.
    • Improved Engine Efficiency: befitting his position as a scout, he can reach speeds of up to 220 kph, and his efficient engine allows him to travel up to 1300 km before needing to refuel.
    • Combiner: can form any limb for Defensor; nominally the right leg.
  • Personality: A pacifist at heart, Groove is often more comfortable on the open road, admiring the clear skies above and the scenery that whisks past. Though his relaxed and easygoing nature means that he often questions his role as a Protectobot, it speaks volumes about his trust for his teammates that he's willing to put aside his dislike for battle when innocent lives are in danger.

  • Name: Streetwise
    • Function: Interceptor
      • "You have to know where you are before you know what to do."
  • Appearance: Height: 6 meters
  • Powers, Weapons and Abilities:
    • Energon Shotgun: triple-barrel pump-action firearm that can fire either slug-based rounds or energy blasts in a short-range spread. Energy mode has an additional feature: a blinding-white muzzle flash that delivers the same vision-scrambling effect as a photon pistol.
    • Air Compressor Cannon: a specialized non-lethal (to a typical Cybertronian, at least) weapon that fires extremely compressed air at such high pressure, it's capable of knocking down – or back – even the heaviest of foes. Its incredible range of 80 km adds to Streetwise's effectiveness as a pursuit unit.
    • Supercharger Engine: Streetwise's pursuit capability is assisted by this custom engine, allowing him to reach a whopping 400 kph. Unfortunately, he cannot maintain this speed for long, and can risk fuel drain or even overheating said engine from overuse.
    • Combiner: can form any limb for Defensor; nominally the left leg.
  • Personality: Streetwise's patience and meticulousness as the former spotter of a sniping unit let him adapt to almost any environment. He can see details in the background that others may miss, then use them to his advantage when the chase (almost inevitably) begins. Though somewhat-jaded by the necessary target elimination of his previous background, he nevertheless believes that there are many other ways to end a war – which is why he joined the Protectobots.

  • Name: Defensor
    • Function: Super Warrior
      • ''As long as one innocent being is threatened, none are truly free."
  • Appearance: Height: 30 meters (Minimal mass-shifting)
  • Powers, Weapons and Abilities:
    • Fireball Cannon x2: Defensor wields Hot Spot's personal sidearms as his own. Able to shoot blasts of blue fire at up to 1100˚C, with a range of 2.5 km, and their power can now be increased even further by tapping into the reserves of the Protectobots that comprise him.
    • Force Field: Defensor's signature ability – a fully-impenetrable shield that he can project up to 20 meters around himself and any nearby allies. Sadly, it's fairly energy-consumptive, and he cannot maintain it for too long.
    • Impervious Armor: a less-consumptive extension of his force field ability, Defensor's entire body is significantly reinforced by the energies of the five Autobots that comprise him, rendering him extremely resistant to most artillery weaponry.
    • Improved Carrying Capability: able to lift 140 metric tons with one hand. Like Hot Spot, Defensor is able to exceed this limit if necessary in times of extreme duress.
  • Personality: Unlike most of his combiner peers, Defensor is fairly well mentally-adjusted from the fusion of his five Protectobot components' minds. His specific quirk comes in how he treats humans (and other weaker beings): he would gladly sacrifice his own life to protect them if it ever came to that. While this quirk allows him to fight on in their name even when suffering grievous injury, it also means that he often spends more time on defensive and rescue tactics rather than attempting to quickly take down the source of danger. Almost parental and highly emotionally attached to those under his protection, he would like to befriend the ones he protects, but his great size and alien nature tend to keep them wary and frightened.

I guess I might as well explain what happened since there might be a solution out there.

The plan I described as "non-viable" was to use either Asuka or Rei, and the reason I said the idea was "non-viable" was because I haven't seen Rebuild 3, which is the point in continuity that Mari's come from, and I didn't want to cause some sort of foul-up by bringing them in from an earlier point, or from the original series continuity.

I'm planning on having Mari come in from somewhere between 2.0 and 3.0, which is a really poorly described period anyway. So it shouldn't be a huge problem.

(I'm assuming Mari is accepted, BTW?)
