- Name: Stanley Morrison
- Age: 31
- Gender: M
- Appearance: Getting both Agent 47 and Patrick Stewart vibes.
◊
- Costume (If Applicable): When doing an independent investigation Stanley typically puts on pinstriped button-downs with suspenders.
- Personality: Stanley tries to always stay stable and have control of the situation. He never goes in half-cocked, but he also has a fairly loose definition of how prepared he actually has to be, given his power. He sees it as his duty to help the cops with his powers in any way that he can, and that he needs them just as much as they need him.
- Biography: Stanley has served as a cop most of his life. With little job prospects after high school except for some good grades in art classes, Stanley got himself in shape and joined the LCPD at age 18. He spent 7 years of his life as a beat cop before trying to advance, bouncing around the LCPD bureaucracy. He eventually got a job, briefly, as a Captain, but found that the authority didn't suit him. However, when the Chief announced that city hall would be giving a few cops some procedures to let them compete with the Supers, Stanley signed right up and went under the knife. Bombarded with Karynite Rays, Stanley's talents for art became supernatural and clairvoyant. He joined the Detective force, and now serves the cops catching criminals in a superheroic fashion but without all that messy faceless vigilante stuff.
- Abilities:
- Stanley can create clairvoyant, self-updating comic books about real people. If he can get an accurate look at someone's face, in person, and then draws a cover for a comic book starring them on a bunch of blank sheets of paper stapled together, his power activates. The contents of the pages will fill in over the course of 24 hours to create an accurate, dynamic surveillance system on the comic's target. He can only have one comic "active" at once, but he can dismiss the effect and leave the comic unfinished, and he can't pick up where he left off if he does so.
- Stanley is also still a competent cop. He's proficient in unarmed combat and is an accurate shot with a pistol. He is well practiced in defensive driving and tailing a perp, especially in a squad car.
- Equipment:
- A sturdy, reliable pistol effective at up to 200 feet.
- An LCPD Detective's Badge
- A personal pursuit sedan he drives during investigations.
- An apartment pretty close to the police station in Civility.
- A kit of pencils, pens, and paintbrushes along with a shitton of paper and staples to make his comics.
- Additional Notes:

- Name: Giancarlo "Gian" Desiderio—Death Grip
- Age: 19
- Gender: M
- Appearance: Gian is a rough guy, but he still tries his damnedest to look good. He has rounded features, a prominent pair of full lips and large, perceptive eyes. He almost exclusively wears slick black suits, most of them let out by a few sizes to allow him to hide bulletproof vests and weapons.
- Costume (If Applicable): When he needs to make an appearance as Death Grip, Gian puts on a helmet with a one-way view—from the outside, he appears to just have a smooth black mask covering his face with a minimalist white hand over it. He also puts on a simple breastplate, black with four stylized hands in white. He leaves his arms bare so that the antennas bound to his body can extend, but also has black armor on his legs patterned with smaller images of grasping hands, again in white.
- Personality: Gian sees violence, particularly his own, as a great tool. He thinks that basically everything in the world is at least implicitly backed by violence—money, laws, and to a certain extent altruism. He wants to be on the right side of violence so that he benefits. His job as a high-tier mafia enforcer is enjoyable because of his ability to indulge in violence, but he is not satisfied with what he has in life. He knows he's raking in decent money as an enforcer, but Gian also knows that he could be getting more: as the mob boss. Seems simple enough, just kill his way to the top and declare himself the head of the various, uh, things... that the mafia does, and then the money would go to him instead of the bosses.
- Biography: Gian comes from a long line of tough-guys. His grandad was a boxer. Dad was a soldier. He was juuuust barely too young to go to war during its height, and only got deployed near the end—basically on cleanup. It sort of bothered him, that he never got to see the glory of full warfare, but it also shaped Gian's understanding on violence. He was a guy with a gun in a hamlet full of scared Luxem... bourgians(???)—that gun had more of a social role than as some kind of tool to kill someone. It was during these small raids on isolated villages that he found some crazy-ass loot none of the brass wanted: a set of four robotic hands and a harness to control them, collectively known as Der Greivier. The thing seemed to hook straight up to the brain, and nobody wanted to test it out. So when Gian went home and realized jobs were pretty dried up, save more of the legbreaking he'd been accustomed to in the war, Gian realized he could go big with these things. He joined up with the Calzaretta crime family out in Modernity as both Giancarlo Desiderio and as Death Grip, menace to all who'd defy them.
- Abilities:
- Gian is bonded with Der Greivier, an armature of brass frames, wires, and extendable antennas coming out of his back. A single gleaming shaft of brass runs down his spine and extends over his shoulders, to the middle of his lower arm. Wires regularly branch out and connect to Gian's body every few inches. When he activates the rig, a pair of radio antennas sprout out of his arms like fins to control the four hands, the second half of Der Greivier. The hands can move up to ten feet away from him, and have little swiveling thrusters on the wrists to let them fly around. They move and strike with as much force as Gian himself—so, quite a bit—and he feels everything the hands do, allowing for precision and power.
- Gian is also pretty dangerous without Der Greivier; he was in the war, you know! He's a good shot with a rifle, he can certainly take a hit, and all those shitty military rations gave him an iron-clad stomach.
- Equipment:
- A collection of really nice cases that can fit the hands of Der Greivier or any number of other weapons, ranging from violin cases to briefcases to luggage trunks.
- A nice penthouse out in Calzaretta territory.
- A good old Chicago Typewriter. Also a Tommygun.
- A few compact pistols.
- Lots of really nice suits, combs, hair care products—basically all the equipment he needs to be dressed to the nines every day.
- Armor. Gian almost always wears a kevlar vest under his suit, but as Death Grip he ups into actual ablative plating designed to resist bullets in the form of a chestplate and leg plating. He unfortunately can't cover his arms, for fear of blocking the signal to the hands.

I added a discussion and world building thread
to help fill in some of the missing details that I thought up. Here's hoping it helps out.

Just the title, though people are free to have campy heroes if they want. Or they could have gritty loners, or whatever.
Unfortunately, I can't really come up with a scale since powers are pretty wide in variety, but I'll let you know if I think it is overpowered. I think a rule of thumb is no singlehandedly destroying city blocks or anything of that scale?
Slight WIP because I do want to give actual visual images

Alright, so I was never any good at developing settings (the majority of the groundwork was done by Taco and Saturn, I just did my best to make my initial islands idea and location match with the era and local culture), so to help me flesh out Los Cielos and the current technology more, I'm inviting Taco and Saturn to be my co-GMs. Please, treat them with the same respect you would treat me. Maybe moreso.
- Name: Tomas Anna Lomas, Golden Eyes, Ojos de Oro, The Golden Mouse, Torkal, Runt-Down, Tommy, Dumpty, Skipper, Talos.
- Age: 14
- Gender: Male
- Appearance: Tomas is a boy, with light brown skin, sheer black, shoulder length, straight and silky hair, and a short, thin build. Nevertheless in his small stature and slim build there is surprising strength... for a boy. He's very physically active, light and fast, agile and flexible. His body has quite a few scars here and there, some showing on his lower lip, side of the forehead and such. His hands are calloused and strong, though surprisingly soft to the touch... with long dexterous fingers. As mentioned, he's small even for his age, his face looking quite boyish most of the time, though his expressions show more maturity than you would expect. His most startling feature, however, is his eyes which are a vivid gold color.
- Personality: Tomas is at heart a kind young man, that cares for his own and tries to look out for those who can't do it for themselves. Rules and regulations are things he opposes, coming from a background where the sources of injustice and pain tended to come from the more privileged, fun stifled by the authorities and gangs. He's mature for his age, but remains a boy still, so he can be quite childish and emotional about certain issues. On the other hand he is daring and charismatic, quick to make friends when he wants to do it and good at getting along and understanding the downtrodden and young. He's also fiercely creative, a near genius with color and expression with dexterous hands to match... indeed, take everything from him but if he can't create or draw he'll quicker go crazy than if you take away food and drink.
- Biography:
- Tomas Anna Lomas, sole child of the Lomas family, just mom and dad coming to Los Cielos from Peru. Settled in Oportunity, the name did mockery of the fate of the Lomas family. Both mom and dad had to work long hours to make their little corner store turn small profits. Thus young Tomas was left to his own for the most part of the day, to be raised by the streets and make an extended family of young immigrant children. Despite being a tad harsh, life was good and happy, full of adventures ranging from the neighborhood... and beyond, as Tomas was quite adventurous and made his way as far as he needed to look at the sights. At some moment, Tomas discovered his love for art and fell in with the tagging scene, his love of heights meshing well with the culture and style as he hung out with some taggers, making his neighborhood definitely more colorful. His room became an ever shifting easel as he painted wonder upon it.
- School just kinda, didn't work for him... while enrolled he misses ten times more classes than he goes to. However, he has gotten used to making ends meet, doing odd jobs around to make money. He developed, or rather tapped into a sort of network of kids around near the whole city... from his wandering around, getting to know shortcuts and ways in and out of the different wards, for getting around and sharing the information among the kids, making friends and organizing some baseball and soccer games among the islands he's made many friends who look out for each other. He's no boss of anything, but the other kids respect him and they all keep in touch and help one another.
- However... things changed a bit one night, a year ago. While his dad came home from drinking with his buddies they got in the path of a fleeing gang and a gunfight with the cops, his dad shot dead. It was a dark night, clouds hanging in the sky and thunder rumbling without rain. Tomas saw the corpse of his dad being dragged away and then just ran. Filled with pain and loss he ran and ran all the way past the bridge reaching Civility and getting close to the bridge of modernity where he saw it... A Heaven. To taggers, high places with lots of space right close to commune routes... where a painting will get seen by thousands is called a Heaven. And Heaven tends to be hard to reach. The side of that tall office building was almost put by God there for him. Out of his mind, Tomas began to climb for it... jumping over a fence, dodging guard dogs, going up fire escapes of a nearby building... doing a jump that nearly killed him. He didn't care, at the moment... he just had to get all the pain inside of him out. Against all odds and the difficulty of climbing the thing, Tomas reached it... and opening his backpack, began to work. The rainless storm raged... hard enough that lightning hit a power station, giving that section of the city a power blackout. That was the only reason, really, why Tomas could work near all night on his masterpiece without interruption. And as he worked somehow the complete darkness didn't stop him. He could see his easel before him even in complete darkness.
- By the time morning came, Tomas collapsed on the roof of a nearby building... and he left his masterpiece. An upside-down image of the city, with great skyscrapers with god like figures of the powerful reaching down, coming from a base countless mice, some dead, some merely skeletons, but all with bright shinning eyes on top. And looking from the top of it all, a pair of golden eyes, shedding tears. Tomas didn't sign his work, but all who knew him, knew it was his work. By the time Tomas arrived home he was changed... and his amber eyes had become perfect golden. He obtained some abilities then, though nothing extraordinary. He worked even harder at keeping his friends and extended family safe, casting wider his net of contacts and getting to know the nooks and crannies of the city even more. With his father gone and mom left alone to tend the store, he sometimes helps her... though lately, he has made trips to Tranquility as a lady has noticed his talent for arts and become sort of an sponsor... she pays him to do some private art for her. Tomas doesn't tend to like the rich, but this one in particular is quite alright.
- Abilities:
- Golden Eyes, Golden Senses: Tomas ability is that of incredible perception. His eyes and senses are more than step beyond normal people. With his eyes he can look as if through a powerful telescope, in the dark and even see heat and ultraviolet and infrared. He can even see through walls. His hearing is incredibly keen, capable of listening on a whispered conversation through concrete walls and picking up specific sounds in a crowd. He can catch scents like a hound and his sense of taste could put professional tasters to shame. Touching upon a wall, he can feel the vibrations of people moving on a different room and the like. Basically, super senses. He also has a pretty good memory, capable of memorizing a fifty digit code word hearing it just once. Finally, his hands are quite precise and with a good grip, making him good at delicate craftwork.
- Mice get everywhere: Tomas knows his way around the city, possibly knowing every nook and cranny Opportunity, Equity like the back of his hand and of the rest of the wards, he knows some secret passageways and ways of getting around and hidden in the rest of the isles... even knowing some paths through the sewers.
- Incredible artist: Tomas is really good at drawing, with a steady hand and a great sense of creativity. His graffiti around the city tends to be either the most appreciated or most hated, though there are better than him around.
- Parkour: Tomas knows how to get around, being a great runner, slippery in a chase and quite adept at climbing and jumping. He can lift his own weight handily and is all in all, dexterous and agile for a boy.
- Street Fighting: Tomas has had to fight many times in his life. He knows to take a hit and not cry about it and is all in all a good fighter for his age. Which means the sixteen year olds kick his ass if they get the drop on him, but even the bigger kids his age get beat by him.
- Equipment: Backpack with pencils, colorful chalk, cans of spray paint, bandages and bandaids, a sketchbook, a small knife, some loose change, empanadas, some water and the like. He also tends to carry a baseball, baseball bat, some gloves and a modified trashcan lid to serve as a sort of shield or improvised sled during the winter. Due to his activities not being exactly legal, he carries a scarf to hide his face together with a variety of knit caps, baseball caps or other caps to wear and hide his identity.

- Name: Johnathan Drescher
- Age: 24
- Gender: Male
- Appearance: a 6 and a half foot tall grey creature with shoulder length black hair. His fingers and toes are taloned, he has large fangs and ear with bat-like facial features. Wears big and tall men's clothing, a simple button up shirt and pants.
- Costume (If Applicable): His human form is a man of just under 6 feet tall with a runner's build. He has red hair and green eyes with plain features. The majority of his power is sealed in this form but it allows him to better withstand sunlight.
- Personality: Johnathan has a sense of honor mixed with a nasty temper. He tries to find the truth in everything as per his job as a PI. He also has a mind for dirty tricks and a willingness to use them.
- Biography: Me? I was born in Chicago, back during Capone's stint as top dog in the city. I was too just old enough to volunteer when the 2nd big war broke out, so I did. I served with pride in the ground war. Then I was captured. The enemy took me to an old castle. They strapped me to an operating table, stuck me in a pentagram wth some old, dried out, headless corpse with its head next to it on the ground. And hit us both with enough electricity to kill a regiment. I don't know what they were trying to do but I don't think turning me into this thing was it, they sure as hell looked surprised when I killed them. I returned to the army and they put me to work on the "Monster regiment" with other mutated supers like me until they sent me home. I couldn't go back to my family like this so I moved out here and well...here I am.
- Abilities: Johnathan is a Psudeo vampire, he has some of the abilities, none of the more supernatural weaknesses and his weakness to sunlight isn't as bad as an actual vampires. (I.e. He is severely hamstrung and lightly burns but doesn't die).
- Superior strength and agility.
- Thirst for blood
- Paralyzingly gaze (eye to eye only which must be maintained, can be resisted depending on willpower)
- Shapeshifting (limited to a human form at the moment)
- Enhanced healing (how enhanced is based on how much blood he's consumed recently)
- Predatory instincts (Likely from the other guy, delivered in a high class British accent)
- Equipment: A .50 revolver and several small hand grenades he smuggled back from the army.

-dramatic music ensues-- Name: Kara Onise Angela, aka Hurricane, aka Nameless
- Age: 19
- Gender: Female
- Appearance: Looks like this
.
- Costume (If Applicable): Kara in her costume wears a simple outfit really, with black denim jeans, two belts crossing in an x shape over her hips. Her top consists of a long sleeved white shirt with intricate green wind patterns, and a black jacket with the same green patters. She keeps her hood up and has a stylized eye mask with the same green wind patterns.
- Personality: Kara is a rather kind person, with a sense of good, though without the self restraint of something like law enforcement. When she’s in the ring though, she’s laser focused, with her lack of self restraint truly shining as she pummels her foes into submission.
- Biography: Kara grew up with a relatively happy life, and went through school casually, getting average grades. Eventually she made it to college, and went through that too, though dropping out after her second year. All this time, ever since she was 16, she’s been fighting in underground boxing rings, binding her chest and wearing her hood up as she made the term Nameless into a name for herself. Her father was a boxer himself, with a well known name before he was drafted for the World War, but luckily he came back. She uses a technique called the flicker jab, which is an extremely quick snapping jab meant to tack on hit after hit in a few seconds. She had beaten down several opponents, but her desire was left unfulfilled. She knew she could never go pro, at least not now. But at some point, she gained something… She emerged as a super, a latent power showing itself. She could hit harder than ever before, and the winds now answered her command.
- Abilities: Kara has a strong skill as a boxer, and this is backed up by her powers. Her strength is much higher than a normal person's, able to shatter a concrete wall with a single jab. This of course means she definitely has to hold back in her normal boxing matches, less she accidentally kill one of her opponents. But what makes her truly unique, is her ability to control the wind around her. This can manifest in several different ways, such as blasts of wind with each punch, the creating of air currents around her body within a foot and a half around her in a circle to push an enemy around, and direct them where she wants, and also to create a form of pseudo flight. She can also concentrate thin blades of wind along her fists to create a razor wind slash with each punch thrown, creating a deadly storm of cuts when combined with the flicker jab.
- Equipment: She doesn’t need equipment.
- Additional Notes: She has other hobbies aside from boxing, and that’s actually playing hand harp.

- Name: Betty Bedlam
- Age: Created in the 30s, and has the appearance of a girl around 17-18?
- Gender: Female
- Appearance: Here.
◊
- Personality: Betty's personality is an amalgamation of traits from plenty of famous cartoon characters. The cleverness and cockiness of Bugs Bunny. The sassy and seductive nature of Betty Boop. She is ultimately a fun loving girl, who thinks life is one big joke. She's very intelligent, hyper-aware of the world and how people work and think, but she has very little sympathy or compassion. She doesn't care about people, property, personal space, decency, dignity, or offending others. She doesn't ever listen to orders. She loves to mess with people, especially when they deserve it, and even when they don't. She loves jokes and humor of all kinds, and it's pretty much one of the only ways to get on her good side. She can be completely vulgar and politically un-correct. She has a short fuse and a quick temper. She has to abide by the rules of cartoon tropes, so when exploited, she can become quite naive. Despite having a fractured, bitter mind, she does not attack with provocation or reason. She does not act for randomness-sake, unless it is really funny. She's got something of a soft-spot for young boys, but she still sadistically treats them like toys.
- Biography: When Betty was first created as a cartoon character, she didn't have a lot of popularity with kids, who already had better and more original cartoon idols. But, then the war came, and she was retooled into a cocky, scandalous trickster who would seduce evil business men and villains, then blow them up. Her cartoons became political, and she took on all kinds of targets, particularly the Japs and the Nazis. She shot up in popularity with adults, and became a household name. Then, a freak nuclear accident with a television set turned to one of her cartoons brought her to life in the real world. At first, Betty tried to be her regular happy-go-lucky self, kind and friendly to good people, mean and vicious to the villains. But more and more over time, Betty began to see the way the world really worked. She had to deal with things like death, pain, violence, sex, and the war in her own cartoon world, but coming into the real world, she realized how fake it all was. How nothing ever lasted and had real meaning. She learned the value of permanence, and it made her bitter. She was the only toon in the whole world, and no one would ever really understand. It was all one big joke. And she was gonna laugh it up. She found her creator, killed him, deciding she didn't want that loose end. She joined organized crime, having ties to robberies, weapons, drugs, weapons, and sex trafficking. To this day, she is an infamous and dangerous villain, famous in the city and the world.
- Abilities: Betty is subject to Toon Physics, and it gives her some interesting abilities.
- She can't die, but she does feel pain and can be knocked out.
- She can contort, distort, stretch, shrink, enlarge, and inflate her body in a near-limitless number of ways.
- She can have her limbs and body parts removed and rearranged.
- She can quickly change her clothing and hair.
- She can mimic voices to a near-perfect degree.
- She can remain suspended in mid-air as long as she is not aware that she is in the air.
- If pushed by a large amount of force, she will stay in motion until stopped by a solid object, like smashing into a brick wall.
- If she runs through a thin object such as a screendoor or a wall, it will leave an outline of her.
- Betty can also become 2D, taking on the shape of a completely flat object, slipping through cracks, or appearing almost invisible at the right angle.
- Equipment: Lotsa weapons in her arsenal. Guns, mallets, swords, knives, TNT, sticks of dynamite, grenades, a cannon. She has ties to the weapons ring in the city, so she always has access to more weapons, but she still has to have a way to move and store them like normal, since she can't use a Hammerspace in the real world. She can carry a lot within her clothes though.

- Personality: Ashley is hot-headed and defiant. She is quick to challenge authority she feels is unwarranted particularly when it appears to be cruel or oppressive. While she isn't stupid, she can be uninspired when dealing with problems. She will often resort to violence when other alternatives don't work in what she deems to be a timely manner. Ashley can be a bit difficult to get along with, but she can become a fierce and loyal comrade if one is willing to put up with her.
- Biography: As a child, Ashley never really fit in. She was too aggressive for the other girls and never made many friends. Her mother died when Ashley was still young and her father never remarried. Her father was partially to blame for her outcast status, for he encouraged her fighting spirit and often treated her like the son he never had. Ashley when along without much of a goal after she graduated high school. That is until Pearl Harbor was attack. Both Ashley and her father were swept up in the wartime fervor that followed, but her father was too old to volunteer. So he and Ashley decided that she would go. She forged several long-lasting friendships and was in the war until Germany was on its last legs. It was during this time that she was caught in a blast from an experimental device that she was helping transport. She survived the explosion without a scratch, but her superiors decided to give her an honorable discharge regardless. - Durability: Ashley's body is extremely durable. Bullets and standard explosives cannot pierce her skin or damage her insides. She is not completely inadvisable as more powerful weapons can harm her. If she is wounded, she recovers like any other human.
- Sonic Acceleration: Ashley can accelerate her body to great speeds after a second of concentration. She cannot maintain this speed. She can accelerate herself in a short burst in a direction chosen as she concentrates. This direction does not need to be the one she is facing. She can accelerate to about a hundred miles per hour, but she can increase that speed if she concentrates for a longer period of time.
- Combat Training: Ashley's military experience means that she can hold her own in a fight and possesses discipline that keeps her from losing her head.
- Equipment: Ashley has a small apartment in Opportunity. She has no real need for equipment beyond that.
- Additional Notes: Ashley possesses a fully documented and established alternate identity under the name of Max Roberts.

Sleep? Sleep?! Sleep is for the weak!- Name: Jack Jones-Tower
- Age: 26
- Gender: Male
- Physical Appearance: Jack is a 6' 1" white brunette with green eyes. His costume is a black and white three piece suit, fedora, and a grey full-face covering mask similar to Sportsmaster's on Young Justice. For reasons we may never know, the suit became really comfortable after its Ladeen exposure.
- Personality: Jack is a cape, though he gets a kick out of scaring criminals with his powers and is something of a Blood Knight. He is quick to take charge, but is happy to stand down if a better leader presents himself. Jack is a very altruistic person and became a superhero for the sake of doing good (and because it looked really fun).
- Backstory: Jack grew up in Dante city, and was 15 when a meteor shower fell on the town carrying Ladeen, a substance that gives people Size Shifter powers. Jack was at a school dance when one meteor crashed through the sky light and hit him on the head. He found that his tux grew and shrank with him and later received a Ladeen-Carbon mask that would do the same.
- Abilities: Jack is a Size Shifter that can shift any where from the size of a LEGO figure to 100 ft tall, though he prefers 50 ft, because after that Square/Cube Law starts taking effect. He is also superhumanly tough and isn't affected by heat or cold. Jack is a skilled boxer.
- Equipment: A suit, hat, and mask that is as invulnerable as he is.

Here's the character sheet:
Name: Nikolai "Niko" Kuznov
Age: 4, but appears 17
Gender:Male.
Appearance: Niko has short brown hair, amber eyes, and looks to be of Russian descent. He is 5'11, and appears to be in good shape. Despite being an android, Niko appears almost perfectly human, save for his facial expression (or lack of) and metallic tint of his "skin". Dresses in a dark red shirt, brown work pants, and a bomber jacket.
Personality: Niko always acts in a calm manner both in and out of combat. Coupled with a monotone voice and deadpan expression, it's no surprise that many people's first impression of him are usually along the lines of "Creepy." Despite his stoic demeanour, Niko is an amiable individual who fights to support the people he cares for.
Biography: Nikolai was "born" when in one of Possibility's many laboratories when a mysterious power surge swept through the workshop of Robotics genius Anya Kuznov, and scrambling the programming of her prototype android, resulting in it becoming sentient. Anya quickly came to see the android as her own child and gave him the name Nikolai, hoping that he could help bring victory to the Allied forces. Unfortunately, disaster struck Possibility a month later, and in the chaos, Niko was separated from his mother.
In the years following the meltdown, Niko settled down in the island of Opportunity, doing odd jobs for food and money. Even after 3 years he still thinks about Anya, and wonders if she's alright.
Abilities:
- War Machine: Niko was originally built to fight in the war, and is well versed in both armed and unarmed combat.
- Well-rounded eater: Niko's internal power source is an advanced bio-furnace, which generates power using organic matter as fuel. How much he needs to eat depends on how much power he's used. Nico can eat anything within that range to use as fuel, including bones, alcohol and even wood.
- Driver: Fairly skilled at controlling small-to-mid-sized vehicles in both normal and combat situations.
Loadout/Equipment:
As Niko is an android, he comes inherently equipped with several abilities and weapons:
- Body: Niko is extremely strong, able to lift 400kg without issue. His body plating is also highly durable, able to endure gunfire and melee weapons with little damage. However, he is vulnerable to strong electrical attacks and industrial magnets; the former causing havoc on his systems, and the latter rendering him completely immobile. Another weakness is that although Niko is waterproof, he is incapable of swimming.
- Energy rifle: Built into Niko's right arm. Fires bolts of energy that can stun or burn through an opponent. Uses energy cells that Niko loads into his forearm, and has a range of 200m
- Shield generator: Built into Niko's left arm, it forms a protective barrier in the shape and size of a full-body riot shield. However, keeping the shield active constantly drains of Niko's power, discouraging him from constantly keeping it up.
- Gravity thrusters: Niko's feet contain low-gravity thrusters that allow him to run faster, jump higher and break his fall from tall heights.
- Pistol: A standard M1911 Pistol with 2 extra magazines. Holstered in his belt. Useful for shooting in close quarters or intimidation.
- Rucksack: Olive coloured military rucksack Contains supplies, ammunition, some food, a water bottle, mechanical tools and other miscellaneous items.
- Motorbike: A Harley-Davidson FA
◊.
Additional Notes:
- Niko is significantly heavier than his size would imply, weighing roughy 110 kilograms. As a result he quickly sinks if dropped into water, making swimming impossible for him.

(streeetch) Alright, let JUDGMENT COMMENCE!
- Stanley Morrison is accepted.
Think he does commissions in his spare time?
- Death Grip is accepted.
I want to make jokes, but sgtpendulum hasn't joined in on the fun.
- Silas Grant is accepted.
Incidentally, you don't need to make profiles for "NPCs" (I suppose a more accurate term would be non-POV player characters) if you don't want to, though it's always greatly appreciated.
- Tomas Anna Lomas is accepted.
Try to stay out of trouble though, will ya kid?
- Johnathan Drescher is accepted.
I'll try to keep the nightlife in mind for you.
- Kara Onise Angela is accepted.
Sting like a bee, baby.
- Betty Bedlam is, tentatively, accepted.
I'm a bit worried about her contortion and hammerspace powers, but villains need wider arsenals moreso than heroes since there always seems to be a bit of dogpiling whenever a villain does do something.
- Ashley Baker is pending.
Please pick one or the other on the invulnerability or the superspeed, please don't have both. Having them in combination is kind of overpowered, and fairly unoriginal besides.
- Jack Jones is rejected.
The character bio seems poorly thought out, inability to be affected by heart or cold also doesn't really feel like it fits thematically. Also Dante City is a very boring name for a superhero city.
More seriously, the profile does seem poorly pieced together; if you're still interested, could you write something more elaborate and cohesive?
- Niko is accepted.
That reminds me, when do we start seeing signs of the Cold War...
- @ KR Vandal: do it do it do it

Name: Rebecca Nyx (Called Lucid when in costume)
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Appearance: Rebecca is short for a college student, around 5’ 3”, and is often still mistaken for a younger child. Her hair is straight and jet black, and it stops at her shoulders. Her eyes are a dim purple color, and her skin is pale. She often wears dark colors like blues, purples, and blacks. She usually wears simple sports dresses when going out, though she does have an expensive wardrobe for parties and other important events. She wears more casual but still expensive clothes for school and work.
-Costume: A black modified motorcycle helmet that serves as a mental focus. The visor covers her eyes from view, but it will glow purple when her powers are in use, and is decorated with a third eye motif. A pair of small horns are attached to the top for decoration purposes. She wears a dark purple cloak on top of a slim black body suit. Her chest is covered by a protective bulletproof vest, and she has a belt around her waist that can carry smaller items attached to hooks. Her boots are lightweight to not inhibit movement, but have good grip.
Personality: Rebecca is considered a very intelligent and hard working, but fragile girl. She was taught politeness and the rules of high society at a young age and this attitude sticks with her even now, or at least during the daytime. Her outer guise of being a sickly girl who’s focused on her school degree fools many people into letting their guard down. At her core, she wishes she was normal, but realizes that she will never be, and strives to hold onto her regular life as much as possible until she eventually does go over the edge. This is what turned her to crime. She will do anything to preserve her sanity, and is ruthless in her actions as long as it leads to her goal of getting the supplies she needs to stay herself. Rebecca is a villain of necessity, but a very good one nonetheless.
Biography: Rebecca’s parents were medical scientists, and they lived in California when she was born. A few years later, they realized that their child had an “imaginary” friend, which they thought nothing of at first. And then they started seeing strange footprints and claw markings around the house, as if a creature had gotten in.
Rebecca’s power started to develop to the point where she would manipulate objects around the house with just her mind, and that was when they decided to move to Los Cielos to get a diagnosis for what was wrong with her. A doctor who specialized in psychic phenomena declared that she was creating a psychic construct that followed her will to a degree, and prescribed a set of mental exercises and drugs to help her gain control. Soon, she was living a much more normal lifestyle in her parent’s expensive home on the Island of Tranquility, though she was home-schooled for safety concerns.
Her father left at the start of World War II to help with research to assist war troops, and returned a year ago to see his daughter off to her first year of college on the close by island of Modernity. But during those six years away, Rebecca’s supposedly controlled abilities spiked in power, requiring bigger and bigger doses of medicine to reign back in.
After waking up to her room being torn apart by her own mind, she realized how dangerous she could potentially become if the monster in her head continued to rebel, and decided to hide how bad it was to not scare her parents into doing anything rash- like tossing her into an asylum for research. And this was what triggered her thieving. She stole from labs and used her own studies to synthesize her own medication, and occasionally stole money to pay for her equipment that could not be bought legally.
Her nighttime activities have been occurring for the last year or so, though her parents still suspect nothing. She currently shares an apartment on Modernity with Kara as she works on her Bio-chemistry and Psychology degree.
Abilities: Psychic manifestations. Rebecca’s takes the form of a large creature that is a cross between a wolf, a bear, a bison, and a lion. No one besides Rebecca can visualize it, and it is invisible to others beyond the large shadow it casts when present. It is silent, but can be physically felt.
The monster is around 8 feet tall on its hind legs, around 200 pounds, and has a set of horns, clawed paws that can grip things, and a head like a canine’s with a set of bone crunching teeth. Rebecca controls it with her mind, and uses the shadow it casts as an indicator of where it is in an area. If she is placed in complete darkness, she and the monster are blinded until a light source is used.
Her control over the beast is linked to her mental state, and her psychic abilities put a lot of stress on her. Rebecca uses special medication to maintain her powers, and without a steady source, her ability can possibly go beyond her and rampage freely. The creature she summons can be injured by conventional weaponry, but small knives and low caliber firearms won’t do much to stop it, though it will take scratch damage. It heals by retreating into Rebecca’s mind, and needs at least a few hours to recover. Another psychic could possibly see the monster if they connected with her head.
Equipment: Road flares, a large flashlight, and a small packet of personally made medication pills.
Additional Notes: If Rebecca is unable to take her dose of pills at least once a week, she will slowly lose control of the beast and become nothing but a medium for it to slaughter with.

The RP!
Discussion
(Credit to Saturn for the introduction!)
"I teach you the Übermensch. Man is something that shall be overcome. What have you done to overcome him?" ~ Friedrich Nietzsche
The Übermensch. The ultimate being. The superman. The embodiment of all of humanity’s power, wisdom and strength. An ideal philosophers used to paint a picture of what man could hope to be. An ideal that a man used in Germany to start a war. We all have dreams and aspirations, but what can we as a species claim to be reaching out for? For all our technology, allowing us to dive into the deepest depths of the sea, or soar past the skies and conquer the stars, can we ever hope to truly be more than what we are, everyone of us? After the war, nothing was really up in the air.
Demons. Beasts. Gods. Whatever they have been called in the past, people of great power have walked amongst us throughout history. It doesn’t take a genius to figure why these people usually like to keep it on the QT. History’s proven that life isn’t too kind to those who are different. But the fact that these people exist is undeniable - the Second World War saw to that. The public wasn’t too kind to these folks, but they didn’t really have much of a chance to complain about their new neighbors. The war was raging on, and the Allies needed an ace in the hole. And when the Axis revealed their trick card, powerful characters of their own, people sweetened up pretty quick. In defense of home and country, these supers, as they're now known, rose to the battle, and the world took notice. World War II has left its impact - the horrors of war, yes, but also great leaps and bounds in technology, new threats home and abroad, and an optimism for the future.
And that optimism is symbolized nowhere better than Los Cielos, a pocket of Heaven right next to the City of Angels. A new kind of city, built by the wealthy, but built for everyone. The first of many cities that would come to be known for a high population of supers, where they could live and thrive. This city, and the rest of the world along with it, live in a "tomorrow that never was." Every well-off family has gotta have a robot butler these days, and the kids are all playing games on their Tech-Boys, and every family has a sleek low-gravity Chrysler, if they can afford it. A city at the forefront of the latest in fashion and entertainment, where the best and worst of Hollywood visit. This city would come to define the change of world history as we know it, and it would define what exactly it means to be a superman.
The date is December 22nd, 1945. Your stories start here...
Hello and welcome to the Golden Age! I'm your host and Game Master, Starbound2, as I'm sure you're all aware. It's just about that perfect time of year when summer's in full swing, and young play by post RPers like myself are itching for a freeform superhero and supervillain RP to let our ideas run wild in. Well, that's what I'm here for - to provide players like you, like me - like us! - a fun sandbox to play with whatever latest character's itching in the back of our minds.
So! Like many superhero RPs before us, this is a freeform RP where the characters are the plot - villains are encouraged to wreck havoc, heroes are encouraged to stop them, and during their downtime they can all get some character development over some hot cocoa by the fire as they plan out this coming Christmas. But! We need to define that playground we're in, and what was one of the modern world's most defining moments but the aftermath of the second World War?
Welcome to Los Cielos. This artificial chain of islands was developed in The Roaring '20s, funded by the wealthy from Hollywood during the growth of the film industry. "A heaven for the angels to come home and roost," as it were. This world saw advancements in technology much faster than the world we live and, with a little behind the scenes help from some yet public supers, it made the construction of this little archipelago possible.
Speaking of advancements, the influence of supers in the timeline made things move along a bit faster than normal. Or in some cases a lot more. We got lasers, robotics, some pretty sleek cars, but our televisions are still black and white, phones are still on cord, and sadly we got no internet. Think Batman: The Animated Series, Skullgirls, The Big O or pre-post-apocalyptic Fallout if you need some aesthetic references, or Art Deco, Raygun Gothic, and Zeerust.
Beyond that, let your heart go wild! As long as it's not too overpowered, feel free to go nuts with your powers. The city is your oyster!
