Sen sidled a little closer to the bar, staying across the street from the man she was fairly sure was the tail everyone was talking about. She feigned interest in the wares of a streetside merchant, which wasn't too hard given the bright cloth swatches that festooned his cart, and waited for things to go bad.

It's been fun.Hiding the rolls on this instance since... well, there were a lot @-@
As the group quite noticeably stopped on their path, discussed something and then split up, the young man grew lightly agitated... that only their keen eyed guide would realize. The young man tried to remain casual, fiddling with something on his pockets and looking up at the sky as Taura and Ryu both passed him by, entering the Sake den.
This afforded Kuroko tons of time to get onto the roof unnoticed and then proceed to move through it. That Kuroko could sense, there was no other threats nearby... only scattered people on the not so busy alleyways and the street of the sake den. Kuroko could get relatively close to the young man... crouching low on the roof over him though if he peeked over he may get seen.
The young man seemed to perceive Sen, taking account of where she was at the moment... but at the sudden cheers coming from the den after the two bigger members of the team slipped in, the supposed spy and lookout turned to casually get a read of the situation inside, peeking through the door.
Taura for her part couldn't notice anything too strange about the patrons of the den... a couple old men that must be regulars, some thugs and hooligans drinking in plain mid day and a pair playing some manner of board game on a corner. Not a big crowd, so it wasn't too crazy when they cheered and the server grinned, money keen on his eyes as he asked the serving girls to break out a lot of sake for Ryu to pay for and serve to everyone.
Old Satsuma, Rooftops
The man in black crouched on the roof and readied his tools. If the two in the inn failed to knock their quarry out, he would strike.
Draw ninja-to and bag of ball bearings, remain hidden.

Taura turned around slightly on her stool, keeping the spy and Ryu in the corner of her eye. In the meantime, she waved over at the servers. "Hey girls, don't be shy now, make sure to pour me a tall glass!"
Ready action: Follow Ryu and perform the "Help" action on him, if he moves and/or performs an action.
A whole flurry of motion happened all at once as Ryu called out to the spy. First, the young man nearly jumped at being pointed out by his quarry... he merely bowed his head awkwardly and then moved away from the door... causing Ryu to move out to him, Taura quick on his steps. Hearing the shuffling movement of a chair fall due to Ryu's sudden movement, the spy began to run... until he sees, Sen blocking the way down the street and coming for him... and Taura and Ryu would come down the other way and out of the den quite soon.
Thus, the young man darted into the alley between the sake den and the neighboring building... though Kuroko was hiding right on those roofs. From there, Kuroko could reach him... try to drop onto him, though that may go wrongly. If Kuroko runs back through the roof a bit he could go past the young man and then drop right on his way into the alley... it would not be something everyone can do gracefully, jump from a roof into an alley and land on his feet, but then again, Kuroko is kind of trained for this. Or he can try to attack from above in another way, chase him or some other plan.

"Right where I want you! No one else around!" Ryu declared, and threw out a hand. He spoke a few words of power, susurrating whispers, alongside a gentle wave of his hand and a lilting, low note on his Nohkan. He cast Sleep, centered on a point slightly below the Spy to make sure Kuroko would stay out of range.
Consuming a 2nd level Spell Slot to sleep 7d8 worth of HP.
After Ryu finished his spell, calling onto the powers inherent within himself and the world, a wave of power extended from the point he selected... and from it, first a couple of rats and a cat fell asleep, then the running young man dropped right on his face asleep as he moved and one of the serving girls of the sake den down at the storage room through the wall fell magically asleep.
Kuroko for his part, even as a light wave of drowsiness hit him jumped from the roof after a running start, spinning in mid air to land on a low, perfectly balanced crouch with his weapon and bead bags in hand, just before the now sleeping young man.
The boss of the Sakeden for his part was yelling given how Ryu just ran out after promising to pay everyone drinks, though some patrons stood up to the bar to demand them, things seemed to calm down but a bit as Taura stayed at the door.
Ryu tilted his head towards Kuroko. "Thanks for your help, guys." He shuffled through his bag and pulled out his ten feet of iron chain, along with a lock, in one hand, and his coinpurse in the other, a small red pouch decorated with his name. He tossed the coinpurse to Sen, then turned and crouched in front of the spy. He began binding the spy's arms and legs together as he spoke. "Head on back inside and enjoy some drinks, I'll chain this guy up then meet you inside. Also, all the patrons will probably want me to cover that round of drinks I promised, so if you could hand off the purse that'd be great."
Old Satsuma, Alleys
"You've earned your drink, Mister Miaalden - I only ask that we do not keep my lord waiting for too long." Kuroko nodded approvingly, satisfied by Ryu's show of his magic. "Now, I am forbidden from drinking on duty, and our 'drunk' friend here will need some company... So let me help you with that."
He knelt down beside the prone spy and tore out a strip of clothing, which would serve as a makeshift gag, and then began to search his body.
Stow equipment. Search spy for items, especially hidden weapons and identification. Investigation check if needed.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation."I'll never hear the end of it if I don't make good on my round of sake." Ryu said, "I need to keep a good reputation, after all, if I'm to become a world-renowned adventurer and performer." He snapped the lock on the chains, then dropped the key on his body. "Anything else to do to him? I have Dispel Magic and Zone of Truth, but we might want to save that for when I don't clip anyone nearby. Speaking of which." He nodded towards the sake den. "We should probably head back inside to make sure everyone in there's okay. Sleep travels through walls and floors, so I probably clipped some poor innocent barmaid or something. I'll have to awaken her, maybe with some beautiful Nohkan melody."
Old Satsuma, Alleys
"It would be foolish to bring our friend into the den in his current state, and if my senses do not fail me, it seems that he is alone," Kuroko replied. "So I will guard our prisoner here if need be - and do what you must, but do not tarry, or I may take him to my lord without you. Magic or no magic, I know a man who would wring the truth out of this one," he added ominously.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation.Taco remove 7 gold from your inventory for paying the drinks
As Kuroko looks into the man's pockets, he'll find no weapons... just a pouch with a generous amount of coin, a set of bandages and... hidden in one shoe, there would be a ring. Simple and plain really, except for a peculiar engraving like that of a spider on the surface of it.
The barkeep, for his part, look at Taura with annoyance, gazing at a generous saucer full of sake left there since a while. Taura had been yelling for sake for a while, not noticing it had been done already in between her running out of the establishment like madmen.
Old Satsuma, Alleys
"Ah. Our friend has learnt that it is not safe to carry large amounts of money in dark alleys." Kuroko made a show of pocketing the man's coin purse and bandages - but when he got to the ring, he surreptitiously slipped it into his own pouch. A spider... Master Sakahiko should find this interesting.

Not a substitute for a formal medical consultation."Okay, that's it for us!" Ryu waved at the crowd. "We've got to go now!" He swiped a saucer of sake, threw it back, then set it on the table. "Thank you for your help in assisting us! I hate to go so soon, but our party is in a hurry!"
He rounded the corner as soon as he left, nodding to Kuroko. "Any loot? Tools, contract, potions? Maybe his salary, something to comp the 7 gold of sake I just bought?"
Sake Den
"I asked for a glass, but all I see here is a thimble. If I had wanted a drink so small that even a child couldn't feel it, I would have asked for one," Taura said, picking up the saucer, and making a show of how small it was in her hand and how she could quickly down it all.
Setting down the empty saucer, she continued. "I need a tall glass - or if you may, a mug, a flagon, a tankard, a jug. A large cup, even."
Old Satsuma, Alleys
"More than enough compensation, but precious little else. Our spy was paid very well for this job." Kuroko held the loaded purse up to the sound of jingling coins, and tucked it away into his belt. "Even so, we are running late - we should depart the scene first and divide the spoils later, lest we be mistaken for an actual back-alley gang. Now, if someone would get Miss Taura out of the sake den..."
He eyed the open entrance doubtfully.

As they entered the sake den, Ryu pointed to the bartender. "Excuse me sir! My associate and I are going to be doing something very stupid and dangerous very soon, government work! Which is why before we do, we're going to get roaring drunk!" He sat down at the bar and stared up at the bartender behind a blank helmet. "Hook us up, if you don't mind. In fact... Eh, I got enough." He swept his hand around the room, making sure to catch their tail in his motion. "Hey! Who else wants drinks? On me!"
