Hm good point, it could be a "run the hell away from a Horus" deal.

Maybe it'll be friendly! Or maybe it'll be a sorta-sentient base/level a la CYAN.

For the fashion-obsessed among us, here's a Tumblr blog that showcases every outfit in Forbidden West.

[Lance Reddick, known for his performances in The Wire, and the John Wick, Destiny, and Horizon franchises, has died at the age of 60.]

Same genus, different species. The submersibility is a pretty distinct adaption.

Launch trailer for Burning Shores

Sweet that it looks like we get a Far Zenith weapon.

Burning Shores is out. Anyone played it yet?

More Quen, a lost offshoot of the fleet. But without any living Diviners, they don't recognize Aloy and are vulnerable to the crazy Zenith using them as a cult labor force to build a ship and get off the planet.

As vile as Londra is, he at least deserves credit for taking the effort to use the locals. I don't know why more of the Zenith didn't attempt to use the locals. They were all rich and powerful elite, they're well acquainted with the idea of making others work for you.

I haven’t played it yet. There are a few things that are higher priority for me coming out soon. But I do want to play it at some point.

After hearing about that Titanic submarine incident, suddenly Faro's stupidity hits very differently because real people can in fact be just as Lethally Stupid as Faro. Especially the richer ones.

It's money and a lack of accountability. Most people would do stupid things quite often if they had the means and no one to stop them. This is why more regulations are always needed at the highest levels.

As it turns out we really do need rules cause humans can't really be trusted to regulate ourselves

If left to their own devices so many people would get hurt out of nothing but pure impulse, stupidity, and lack of forethought

I mean, I feel like that's a cynical oversimplification. Not wrong, just a rather dark take on it.

Let's put it another way: Humanity evolved in small bands reaching the low hundreds at once. All our social behavior is built around a life where you can reasonably expect to know the names of everyone you'll ever meet. Then we invented enough technology (agriculture, architecture, animal husbandry) that we could exist in vastly greater numbers. So then we had to invent social technology (government, laws) to keep up with these new advances, situations that evolution never prepared us for.

It's a problem, but it doesn't have to be some In Your Nature to Destroy Yourselves Humans Are Bastards problem.

Is it about time that somebody created an overarching Horizon page to chronicle every game in the series? Because frankly, I'm getting sick of having to put down Horizon Zero Dawn/Horizon Forbidden West every time i put down an example that exists in both games, and it would be much simpler if we could just say "The Horizon series/trilogy/however many games they make after FW".

Right before Dragon's Dogma II. Huh.

Guess I'll be replaying HZD until they've definitely ironed out the performance. Wish they'd backported gyro aiming to the first game, though — I know there are ways to set it up with third-party controller drivers, but it just doesn't feel right to me. Keyboard + mouse is great for aiming, but doesn't quite capture the directionality of movement that controller offers.
