Mine was one of the video game-specific tropes. The one I can think of the most (probably not the actual first but one of the earliest ones) was Adam Smith Hates Your Guts.
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonDual Wielding was the first one I found. I remember I was trying to look up techniques for my writing, and instead I was sucked into the never-ending cycle that is TV Tropes.
"Can't make an omelette without breaking some children." -Burbut for me, it was healing shiv
Remember what we used to say? JACKPOT!@Odd 1:This is a bit off- topic but yeah..honestly if it wasn't for my tendacy to submit to Bile Fascination, I would have never became member of this site after seeing that page.
I still can't believe how different the wiki and the troper community was in 2009-2011 compared to today.

Macron's notesBeyond the Impossible, at a time where Troper Tales was a thing and before most of the stuff inside got cleaned up and reworked to become Serial Escalation.
Don't stop, just proceed, 'cause this is what you need-proceed, just proceed, 'cause this is what you need!Nightmare Fuel if that counts, next was Cosmic Horror Story back before everyone paid attention to the difference between that and Eldritch Abomination.

You say I am loved, when I don’t feel a thing. You say I am strong, when I think I am weak. You say I am held, when I am falling short.I think it was Cutscene Power to the Max. I think someone linked it in a video game thread in a forum I used to frequent, but that was like 2009/2010.

135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300A long, long, time ago, I somehow found my way onto this site, and found the Hammerspace trope. I have no idea how I did it, or how I missed this beautiful insanity, but eventually, after a few years I found my way back, using.... something.
"The Stick has sentimental value. It's like an enormous, hideous teddy bear we can kill things with." -rikalousDarker and Edgier, from the Homestar Runner wiki's page on the Xeriouxly Forxe cartoon.
Just pretend I wrote something witty here, okay?I was looking for actual villains who were killed off at the end of their movies. I happened to search for a trope name verbatim, and the rest is history.
My first trope was Disposable Fiancé. I was linked here from a forum somewhere and I've been trapped here ever since.

The End of the World as We Know It.
"I, Exdeath, have disguised my self as a splinter, waiting for this very moment!" -Exdeath, 1992Nightmare Fuel. No one should be surprised that was the first trope I saw on this site.

Everyone call me elf monsterCluster F-Bomb. A friend and I were looking up something from Meet the Demoman when we happened across the page. I decided to explore it a bit more at home, made an account after a year or two, and here I am now.
I have a feeling it was Fantasy Kitchen Sink. I know I discovered TV Tropes through the Welcome to Night Vale article, though.
