"So a death cult it is then.", Larius mumbled. "Maybe they tried to turn themselves into Lichs and failed? Or they didn't and are just pretending to be dead."
Kneeling down on the ground, his staff in front of him, the Necromancer attempted to raise one of the skeletons from the dead. They wouldn't be able to tell the group anything useful but would probably be a valuable asset in battle.
The skeleton's bones rattled and shook before it stood up from where he was left. It sure did prove he was dead. The Skeleton is now under Larius's control.
The remaining ways to advance to other rooms were the stairs on the right and the doors further down. None of the bodies seemed to have anything else of any worth aside from those rings.

"Not I," Regulus replied. "Perhaps we might take them with us, if nothing else of value can be found. But that is a decision for later."
Regulus started towards the doors with his lantern. "I say we clear this floor before ascending. I'd rather not be caught on a flight of stairs with foes both ahead and behind."
Nihil assumpseris, sed omnia resolvere!Pastoval moves next to Regulus and walks with him toward the doors, "Aye, seems like the most sensible plan." Pastoval remains alert and perceptive. He hope to detect and intercept any possible threats before they can target his less physically adept companions.
Sleep? Sleep?! Sleep is for the weak! The door seemed to be unlocked and the putrid smell of the rancid flesh was still coating the room. However, if he could get past the smell, there would be something behind the door. They seemed to be growling with the sound of flesh being torn. They must have been eating something-or someone-and they haven't detected them yet.

Pastoval hears the noises and his entire body tenses, "Boys you better be ready, here it comes." He rears up on his hind legs and slams his forelegs into the door in an attempt to knock it down. If he succeeds, he'll immediately cast his spell to light up the room and hopefully blind whatever is in it.
Sleep? Sleep?! Sleep is for the weak!As the door is blown off it's hinges-it was rather old-the creature on the other end would be blinded by the cat-like creatures's spell. The creature in question looked to be human...a human with rotting flesh and eyes black as coal.
Zombie
Some people don't understand that when you die, you're meant to stay dead. Don't listen to the movies and comic books, Zombies are incredibly fast and capable of leaping to great heights-after all, they've lost quite a lot of weight. How can these creatures walk around when they're technically dead? I don't know!
WARNING: Zombies tend to hunt in packs. If you see one, many aren't far behind. Also, do NOT let any fluids into open wounds. It won't be pretty...

The Zombie's head was shot clean off. And like any other Zombie, without the head-or rather, the brain, it goes back to being just a corpse. The flaming ball illuminates the room and exposes the group to what's inside. Sadly, it also alerts them to their presence.
"...Kill...them...!" hissed one of the undead creatures that seemed to be in the far back in a group of other Zombies. This one seemed to hold some kind of staff with a horned-skull at the tip, pointing it at the party as the Zombies stood up and rushed at them.
Zombie Hoard(10)
A group of Zombies is either incredibly bad or really annoying, depending on the numbers. But being covered in undead monsters is only fun once.
Lich
An advance Zombie that seems to dabble in some form of Necromancy. How can a creature missing 95% of its brain cast spells? Again, I don't know, but Lichs seem to be smart enough to talk and smart enough to make commands, so maybe it still has a functioning brain...it just wants yours.

"A cult, by the look of it," Regulus said. "But were they meaning to die, or did they call something that they could not control?"
