Yeah, Lothric Knight Sword is more or less DS III's Baller Swag Sword.
Sweet. Once I get enough shards to upgrade it I'll be able to switch over.
Anyways, I found my way to the giant's chamber in the chapel. Is it wrong that I cheesed him with arrows?
You can kill the giants surprisingly easy in melee but it would have required you to get a bit further into the chapel.
God I love the bow.
I'm in the rafters of the chapel. I thought the 3 knights up here would be an issue, but I managed to get them all to fall off thanks to the bow.
The Deacons of the Deep are a super easy boss. While I had Anri and Horace with me, I feel like the Deacons are passive enough that having help wouldn't matter.
Farron Keep is really annoying. Deep poison swamp combined with samey terrain makes it really hard to navigate. I miss the Rusted Iron Ring.
I have a weirdly hard time with Deacons of the Deep, even though everyone tells me they're super easy. There were many bosses in the game I handled better than them.
The first time I played through Farron Keep it was absolutely miserable and honestly much more aggravating to me than Blighttown, if only because the Grus are such obnoxious enemies.
The second time I went there though I actually had a much easier time, I guess because I knew what I was looking for.
Just be glad you didn't go there before the Cathedral like I did.
tfw you learn a gesture because you got invaded by an NPC while out of Estus and died. And I thought the Wheel Skeletons down here would get me.
Also the boneball can suck it.
I almost did, but assumed I shouldn't be there based off the message the game leaves you.

I'm almost up to the point where I stopped playing last time. Does it make any difference to Siegward's quest if I kill Pontiff Sulyvahn before going through the dungeon to fight Yhorm with him? I didn't get Siegward to show up there last time.
Also, are the other upgrade paths any better in this game or should I just stick to regular?

Depends on the build. Refined is the best for a Quality build.
It depends on the weapon some times. There's a lot of dex weapons that are best with a Sharp infusion, even on a Quality build.
>sulyvahn is wrecking me
>after slowly improving I am finally able to get him to half health
> suddenly he activates his second phase and spawns a clone and i die
yeah fuck this i'm going to the dungeon
When Sulyvahn starts to summon a clone, that's your chance to go ham on him. If you manage to kill his clone, he'll just summon another one, leaving him no time to fight back.
You need to meet Siegward before reaching Sulyvahn, otherwise he'll just move along without you, and you'll also lose Greirat the Thief (unless you found Patches and gave him Siegward's armor set).
Irithyll is a pain in the ass.
All of the Pontiff dudes are hardcore.
I get invaded by a jerk NPC who decides to have a Divine Blessing on him after I exhaust all my resources. So he kills me.
The stupid bridge beast shows up in the moat and makes life miserable in general cause I can't hit him without losing more than half my health. And the water means you have very little real fighting room.

I've died a LOT to the Pontiff Knights. They do so much damage and can stunlock you so quickly that you really have no choice but to learn to time your rolls properly against them and/or just get the first hit and kill them off in one combo.
Man fuck the Yhorm fight. I finally got Siegward to show up but couldn't remember how to use the stormruler properly so he just got killed by yhorm while I wasted all my FP and died. Welp, that questline ended up being a bust.
...Dang, didn't even know Siegward could die during that fight. :/
That fight is pretty bad yeah.
The fight I hate is the Aldrich fight. It's just such a pain in the ass for me.
Sulyvahn's a pain — I usually end up summoning the NPC phantom to help with the fight.

OH MY GOD YOU GUYS I BEAT HIM HOLY SHIT
Fuck that was horrible but at least it's over now.
God who thought platforming in this game was a good idea? Also the unnecessary fog doors in Firelink.
It took me way too many tries to get the loot in the tower because I kept barely missing the ledge and dying.
Wow, I thought Irithyll itself was just Anor Londo but as it turns out Anor Londo proper is in the game. That's neat.
EDIT: Fuck, I think Greirat is dead since I didn't tell Patches to save him and I already killed Sulyvahn. Oh well.
Yep, just found his ashes in the sewer. Seems like most of the questlines in this playthrough are ending up short.

Platforming: the bane of every Souls game.
Aldritch was a breeze compared to Sulyvahn. The curse beast I fought in the hallway prior to the fight honestly aggravated me more (I don't know why since the one in the Cathedral was easy both times I got up to that part).
Also farmed for a Lothric Knight Sword and made it refined, it's putting in some serious work.
