A thing...am I the only one who has to think of the House Of Cards opening with the Sense8 Opening?

It's a bit like the House Of Cards opening... If the House of Cards opening made me be like "Humanity, Fuck Yeah!"

...

So no, it's not like the House of Cards opening at all.

...its like the Good Counterpart of it. But the way the music and the scenes interact just really evoke it for me.

"Import Export"...Lito's "Fuck my life, I can't believe that" face is hilarious.

Yeah, when I heard that "import export" line, I was like, "oh yeah. Definitely drugs." [lol]

Well I was more general smuggling, but drugs are probably involved too.

Lito is just generally good at the FML face. Great comic relief. even when trying to kill himself.

Yeah, I've got about 0 pity for him. Like, I would have done the exact same thing in Sun's position, but really, he deserves prison.

Lito seems to be the official The Chewtoy when it comes to funny moments. Now he gets to share Sun's Menstruation issues?

Lito having Sun's issues was so great to watch. Though when that originally rose it did make me wonder if the people who menstruate within a group tend to synch up. I mean, if sharing a house can cause people to do so, I have to wonder about the ability to share a mind. And the "import/export" reaction was classic. Like, of course the jealous ex he is helping her avoid by pretending to be in a relationship with her used to work for an international crime boss and is so feared that the guy she cheated on him with not only left town but left the freaking country. Of course. Loving Lito's acting.

Just finished episode 7 and saw the re-intro of Mr. Whispers (can't remember if he was seen after 1, don't think so). Oh my word can we talk about that?

Capheus is a good person. He cares for his sick mom and is a ray of sunshine in general. [tup]

So, I just started watching this on a whim, and I have to say, this is one of the best 'Why the hell not?' shows I've ever watched, at least so far. I'm only on Ep 2, but the characters were interesting, well-written, and well-acted, and while the plots' taken a while to get moving due to introducing the characters, what we've gotten is enough to make you wonder just what the hecks' going on. I do have a question though; do they all actually meet in person at some point, or is everyone separated for the entire season, only meeting in telepathic communication and the like?

Also, part of the reason I think this show works is because the Wachowskis have Mr.Straczynski backing them up. All of the Wachoskis' usual interesting and mind-bending ideas are either there or seem like they're going to be there, but I think having Straczynski around helps give the show a sense of humanity that, at least for me personally, isn't often found in the Wachoskis' works. It might well be a Crack Pairing, but it's a darn good one.

I also noticed that the show's only gotten 68% on Rotten Tomatoes; upon reading some of them, I noticed that most reviewers only saw the first three episodes before dismissing it entirely. Maybe for an episodic series, they'd have a point, but I think with a show like this, you need to see the whole thing before you can judge it fairly. So yeah, no points for them.[tdown]

Only two characters end up physically meeting by the end of the season.

[up] Ah. Well, from what I've heard, there are 5-6 seasons planned, so they've got plenty of time to get everyone together. Here's hoping.

I hope Straczynski is right about having arranged actor deals for all planned seasons. One of the things I hate the most about TV series, is when they start bleeding actors, and twist the plot around that fact, with protagonists going through two or three True Loves in so many seasons, and best friends dropping out of the plot without a word.

It would be especially bad in such a a show, that is all about deep bonds, even outside the cluster.

Also, I want to see four more seasons of Daniela, Lito and Hernando being silly together all the time.

[up][up][up]Even if it does start bleeding actors, I think the show can still work in spite of that. Straczynski was behind Babylon 5 after-all, and he made replacement plans for every single major character in advance in case some of the actors left, which some did. It all managed to come across as natural without being forced, and I'd say some of the replacement characters were better than the old ones. (With Sheridan over Sinclair being the big one.) Of course, given that this show is partly about close bonds, replacing characters might be a bit harder to do here, but if it comes to that, I've got faith that Straczynski can work it out.
