Finished my character, go have a look at it. Also, shouldn't we get a discussion thread for world-building and lore or do we just discuss it here? I've already got an idea of a goddess of nursing.

http://www.last.fm/user/sgtpendulum Yo, check out what I'm listening, it'll be heat, brah :^)You can go ahead and make the discussion thread if you want, but I can imagine it'd be harder for the latecomers to figure out what's going on when the discussion thread gets long.
Yes, I'm interested in this rp, but I'm still putting together a character. Got a concept, but not much more than that at this stage. Hope that's okay.
We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Well, Zirconus is done except for the personality section. If its allowable I'm probably just going to figure that part out as I go.
Also, are we going to be restricted to one character? Or can we have multiple characters at the same time? I'm probably not going to start with two characters. But I'm still curious.
Click Click Boom BoomK. Oh and whoops forgot to go image trawling for Zirconus.
Edit: Image found. Not quite what I had in mind, but its close enough.

We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Done!
- Name/Aliases: Victor
- Sex/Gender: Male
- Race: Patchwork Man
- Pretty much, a Patchwork Man is Frankenstein's Monster in design — a sentient undead being created using the parts of other people and animated using high amounts of life magic. One side effect of this is that he can detract and control parts of his body. Reattaching the limb — or attaching a new one if the prior one got destroyed — consists of just sewing it back on (usually — due to crystal field mutations, there's one major exception for Victor, mentioned down in Bio). He also is rather hard to kill — he's been impaled, torn apart by wolves, and set aflame, and the only long-lasting effect is a fear of fire. Unfortunately, due to being Undead, spells targeting undead beings affect him too. And there's the simple fact that people get disturbed seeing someone's limb fall off...
- Appearance:Hat, ring, coffins, and skeletons not included.
◊
- Gear: A staff, some medical equipment, and Fritz, a raven who, thanks to being altered by a crystal field, can talk. Victor also wears several layers of clothing to hide his stitches and mismatching skin colors.
- Skills: Victor has a lot of medical knowledge for a creature who's only been alive for a few years. He and Fritz theorized that his brain might have come from a doctor, but they have no way of knowing for sure.
- Magical Powers: With some effort, Victor can transfer some of the life magic keeping him together to use on someone else. However, due to the lack of training and unwillingness to make himself drop dead in the process, he's limited to healing minor wounds/sicknesses and temporary reanimation of creatures no larger than a wolf.
- Cybernetic Augments: Nope.
- Personality: Victor has only been alive for a couple of years, and while he's gotten good at passing himself off as a human — albeit a grey, blind human — he's got a few odd traits. For starters, he often is curious about things — often to the point of tinkering around with corpses, which bothers Fritz a lot. For another thing, he's reckless in a fight, due to the fact that he can stitch himself back together after it's done. He's a good man, though, with an unwillingness to see (so to speak) someone in distress. He’s also hesitant about revealing his less-than-living state — the last several times he revealed this didn’t turn out so well.
- Background: Victor has had a rough life. He first awoke on a table in an abandoned building, with no idea of how he got there. He wandered about for a while, testing his abilities and stuff. Unfortunately, one day, he fell asleep in a crystal field, due to the fact that no one else was in there and he didn't want anyone spotting him. This choice had some pretty bad consequences — when he woke up that morning, his eyes were gone. To make matters worse, he couldn't place new ones in — they simply turned to ashes in his sockets. For weeks, he stumbled through towns blindly, until one day he heard cries of help coming from a shady carnival owner's caravan. It wasn't until after he accidentally caused a scene — and was forced to retreat into the forest — that he learned that said person was a raven, who had mutated due to the crystal fields as well and had escaped with him in the crowd. With said raven, Fritz, acting as his eyes, Victor set off to find someone who could fix them. Unfortunately, they're running low on funds, so they're hoping on joining Aerith Wings.
- Class: Healer, I guess...
Here comes the Magitek guy!
- Name/Aliases: Nathaniel "Nate" Henyo
- Sex/Gender: Male
- Age: 27
- Race: Human
- Appearance: Nate stands at 6 feet tall, with dark brown hair and light green eyes. Aside from his gear, he wears a skintight suit beneath his clothes that allows him to sync up with his gear. Over that he wears a normal gray shirt with black pants and a brown longcoat.
- Gear:
- Mask: When fully formed, looks like this
◊. Protects his face, offers him different modes of vision, and links to his comms. Allows him to manage the ambient Mana his gear stores.
- Scepter: A meter-long metal staff that looks like this
◊, but gray and with a purple crystal at the head. Capable of absorbing magical power and release it as Nate wishes.
- Grav-Grenades: Unfolding spheres that unleash a small gravitational singularity that draws objects in the field toward the center, temporarily holding them until the power runs out.
- Feather Fall Boots: The only pieces of tech that Nate bothered to buy. These are black metal boots going up to his knees that allow him to land on his feet from any height, and with relative quiet.
- Mask: When fully formed, looks like this
- Skills:
- Magitechnologist: Nate is an up-and-coming expert on magitech, skilled in harnessing the power of the Rift into technology for practical use.
- Magical Powers:
- Eye of God: Nathaniel summons a floating orb that rains lightning in a cone under and around it. It lasts for several seconds and moves according to Nate's will before being recalled into the Rift.
- Claw for Power: Nathaniel conjures up a claw that homes in on a target that can use Mana. Upon striking, the claw deals damage and transfers power to Nate, giving him a shield, a speed boost, and enhanced power for a couple seconds.
- Cybernetic Augments:
- Tentacles: Three advanced cybernetic arms that look like this
◊, but with purple glowing eyes. Connected to his spine and in direct communication with his brain, they're three extra eyes and arms for Nate. Oh, and they can release laser beams. Fully contracted they're 3 meters in length, but can triple that.
- Tentacles: Three advanced cybernetic arms that look like this
- Personality:
- Background:
- Class: Mage/Support, to at least communicate that he hangs in the back because he's a researcher.

Allurand and surrounding world loading, 28%...- Name/Aliases: Holly Azure aka. The Angel of Rousing Courage
- Sex/Gender: Female
- Race: Angel- Legend says that angels are born from the souls of innocent humans killed before their time. Whether or not this is true is unknown, even to the angels. Angels have the appearance of normal humans with a pair of semi-ethereal wings. Despite their similar appearance, angels possess speed, strength, and durability that borders on superhuman. Angels spend their time fighting for righteous causes and just individuals. Angels are theoretically immortal, the violent lifestyle that angels tend to lead cuts this short. Angels give themselves titles based on what they perceive to be their greatest defining attribute such as “The Angel of Righteous Fury” or “The Angel of Honorable Retribution.” Angels also often take human names to better interact with other races. Angels have no shared culture or settlements and are so few in number that they rarely encounter another of their kind. An angel’s birth is accompanied by a sudden, violent storm and a brilliant flash of light in the same color as the angel’s wings. They are born fully mature with basic knowledge about the world. Other angels are drawn to these birthing events and act as mentors until the newborn angel is properly prepared. Rumors of fallen angels that pursue evil ends are unfounded and completely false. At least, that’s what the angels say.
- Appearance: Holly is tall and muscular with dark blue wings. Her hair is black and is kept rather short. Her eyes are hazel but glow the same color as her wings when she uses her magic. A long scar travels the length of the left side of her face. Tattooed on her right arm is a series of small hash marks, seventy-nine in total.
- Gear:
- A lightweight set of metal armor.
- A cold iron bastard sword.
- A belt pouch full of rations and other items useful to a traveler.
- Skills:
- Melee weapon training: Holly is skilled with numerous melee weapons, though she favors the bastard sword.
- Diplomatic maneuvering: Holly would rather solve a problem without bloodshed, if such a resolution is possible. Over time she has grown rather adept at talking enemies away from violent conclusions.
- Combat Experience: Holly has participated in enough war and bloodshed that she is able to cope with extreme situations.
- Magical Powers:
- Warding Shield: A blue energy shield that blocks any kind of attack at the expense of Holly’s stamina. The shield can be made larger, but doing so drains her stamina faster.
- Rousing Visage: Holly is surrounded by a blue aura that heals nearby allies and gives them the courage to continue fighting no matter how bleak the situation. This spell costs a lot of Holly’s stamina, so she only uses it in the most desperate of times.
- Cybernetic Augments: None.
- Personality: Holly feels that her greatest attribute is her ability to find courage even in the darkest of times. Though she will take steps to avoid battle, when it cannot be avoided she will charge after her foes with relentless force. Outside of combat she is generally politely conversational and serine. When she has grown to know and care for a group of companions, she would gladly lay down her life if it saving even one of them. Her greatest desire is to earn the loyalty of her companions and to show them that their trust is not misplaced. Holly has a rather puritanical morality and isn’t shy about making her objections known.
- Background: For countless years Holly has fought a righteous war across Athalenes. She has served kings whose cause was just and overthrown the less virtuous heirs of those same kings. Her entire life has blurred together into a single crusade of lives lost, wicked slain, and allies mourned. After seeing so much of Athalenes, but only in war, Holly grew weary of the endless war and decided to find peace elsewhere. Upon learning of the Aether Wings, Holly was struck with hope that she might find peace and companionship beyond Athalenes.
- Class: Tank
- Name/Aliases: “Jas”
- Sex/Gender: 100% muh-male
- Race: Human. At least, we hope so.
- Appearance: A tall man with a wide chest, broad shoulders, and long muscular limbs that belie his old age. He has scars all over his body, especially one long on his face across his nose. He's got jet black hair with gray streaks scattered throughout which is kept neatly slicked back by some unknown force. He wears a few pieces of jewelry like a gold earring and several rings on his fingers to look fancy. He normally wears a vest covering a nice black shirt, suit pants, shoes with gold buckles and a giant fur-trimmed coat, but it's too tattered to tell what it is anymore. Sometimes he makes do with a Hawaiian shirt, shorts and sandals when he's told to dress up better.
- Gear:
- A giant metal hook prosthetic affixed where his left hand would be. It is unbelievably sturdy, and no one knows what the heck it's made out of. Maybe it's the hilt of a broken chainsaw. Maybe it's pure carved jade covered in a metallic paintjob. Maybe it's a cleverly disguised holder for all his delicious candy bars. Or maybe it's the shattered pieces of his former life.
- A cigar holder somehow full of a nearly endless supply of custom thick, buck cigars that he obtained from a dear friend. He's almost never seen without one in his mouth. Considering how often he smokes them, it might explain why he's so at peace with the world.
- A stuffed parrot he keeps on his shoulder he named Sunday. He sometimes talks to it and takes its “advice” over other people, although it might just be an act.
- An eyepatch that he wears as a replacement for his aviator shades. No, he doesn't need it, it's just holding its seat until he can find those shades again.
- A combat shotgun with several rounds. Nothing magical about this, just for when he wants something dead and he doesn't care how.
- Skills: He's an experienced survivalist, managing to survive in the most hostile environments for years at a time. He's written his own version of the anarchist's cookbook from how often he's had to make do with being stranded in the middle of nowhere with nothing but the clothes on his back and maybe a box of scraps. He's innately gifted with languages, knowing how to curse out someone's mother in 14 languages and knowing how to just curse in about 44 others. He is also a rather good cook, gymnast, and dancer when he wants to be. He might have a few more, but he doesn't remember. Oh, and there's probably something involving firearms or weapons in there, but hell if I know.
- Magical Powers: Zip, zilch, nada.
- Cybernetic Augments: Zip, zilch, nada.
- Personality: Jas almost always a smile plastered to that face of his no matter how dire the situation, even when he's the responsible party. He is perfectly happy to just share a drink with his friends rather than fight, but won't hesitate to blow someone away if they're a threat. He switches between being impulsive and being cold and calculating, depending on how angry or how plastered he is at the moment. He suspects he might have mild schizophrenia because he's seen things that look just plain weird...although part of that might be all the times he's passed by those strange giant glowing crystals. And the amount of times he's been poisoned. And all the salt water he's drank. Hell, he doesn't even remember why he's called “Jas”, but it's stuck. When he has his mind set to something, he WILL see it through no matter how much destruction he has to cause in the process.
- Background: Born homeless with a single haypenny to his name, Jas had enough guts and determination to turn that haypenny into a countless fortune...starting by using it to knock out that passing by rich man then stealing all his money and clothing. Living the life of sometimes soldier of fortune, sometimes vagrant, and sometimes just crazy wanderer, he has explored the vast majority of Athalenes for whatever treasure he imagines should be his. Or at least, when he remembers he's even searching for said treasure. His memory is filled with quite a lot of holes in it.
- Class:
Mutually Assured DestructionCombat support and sometimes comic relief

A quick note on the back story, I'm kind of planning on Zirconus being the only confirmed member of his species on Athalenes but I'm not adverse to someone else making a crystal being thingy. If that's not ok or whatever, I'm fine with changing it though.
