Alexander heard the woman answer, and thought a bit to himself.
On one hand, he didn't really need the woman's help, and having her tag along would've probably slowed him down. On the other hand, having another person travel with him would improve his survival chances. And who knew, she might have turned out to be useful.
Alexander then replied.
"Whatever. Just, don't slow me down"
That said, he continued walking.
Not wanting to get caught on the water, Mana launched herself to the other side of the river, twisting to dodge and catch any arrows fired her way to throw them back even faster at the scouts. After she landed on the other side of the river, the Chosen trusted her new powers to guide her towards her target as she sped at the shadows, feeling for the sources of danger at which she would strike.

Having said that, Alexander stood there to observe the girl's reaction. Something told him she had more power than he thought... Even though she didn't seem to be evil, his scars had taught him better.
