Well, here's my character, then:
Name: Regulus Irving
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Appearance: Regulus is a brown-haired young man, a hair's breath under 5'10. His personal grooming is half-hazard: he will take fastidious care of his clothing and equipment, but his own hair is left to its own devices most of the time, with the occasional self-pruning that makes it look worse than if he just let it be.
Magic: -Pact of Enki: Regulus has made a pact with a being of water named Enki, who has given Regulus a measure of his power. Regulus can summon a spherical reservoir of about 10L of water, and then psychically direct Enki to control it. He can move it about, have it change shape, density and acidity, as well as pressurize and launch portions of it as projectiles. He can also affect other bodies of water in the same way, so long as he bonds with them via a blood sacrafice, requiring one drop of blood for every 10L or so of water present. -Ring of Enki: Placed into any container of water, this green stone ring will slowly exude a greenish cloud until the entire container is obscured, which will then clear, leaving behind a container of perfectly clean and pure water that is safe to drink. Any poisons or toxins will have been removed.
Magic Weaknesses: If someone should touch the pact mark on his left wrist, while contact is maintained, Regulus will be unable to use his pact-magic (or communicate with Enki). Additionally, Regulus does not have control over the water, he must direct Enki, who is without senses, to control it instead. While Regulus can replenish the water that is lost from his reservoir(e.g. from projectiles, hitting things, etc.), he cannot do so until the lost water evaporates. He also loses control of any water that is removed from his reservoir or a bonded body of water(see above). Finally, using water dehydrates Regulus, and he cannot hydrate himself using water that he has summoned (although he can use pre-existing water that he is bonded to).
Equipment: A heavy iron bracelet on his left wrist, obscuring and protecting the pact-mark; A backpack containing a bed roll, a small amount of food, serveral waterskins, flint, a lantern, a fishing net, and a small steel knife.
Personality: Regulus is reserved and self-controled among those he doesn't know, and prone to be secretive. Around those he feels comfortable around, he demeanor changes completely and he becomes much more open. Honest and concerned about acting honorably, Regulus is extremely concerned with not accruing, and paying off debts, whether they be of money, of honor, or of conscience. Additionally, Regulus is extremely fond of artifacts of the past, and knows much of old lore concerning civilizations past.
Bio: Growing up in the harbor-city of Lindburg, Regulus grew up in, on, and around the ships his father worked on, first as a master and later as a shipwright. His father spoiled his only child, paying for him to study the ancient artifacts he so loved at the University of Arvyn.
There, one day by the lake, Regulus met the water being Enki, who was trying to escape from the mage Conrel, who had bound him and forced him away from his home far away, binding Enki to his person in order to extend his life. Regulus agreed to hide Enki within his body for the eight days it would take before Conrel's extended life ended.
Now, his father is getting old, and Regulus has left the University that has been his home for the last five years, searching for both a purpose to his life and a means of supporting himself and his aging father.
Nihil assumpseris, sed omnia resolvere! As of now, the official RP has started!

Name: Richard Ladon
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Appearance: Alexander is tall, quite tall for his age, with short silvery hair, neatly combed back and bright, green eyes. He normally wears a blue robe, from when he studied magic back at his academy. Not able to bear the stuffy confines of shoes, he instead wears a pair of extremely durable sandals. A single fingerless glove adorns his right hand, concealing a few marks from spells gone wrong.
Magic: -Hands of Creation- Alexander is able to create personal reality constructs that he can control in the direction his hand/s is pointing in. For example, he creates a fireball by creating a ball-shaped construct, and then filling it with fire. Note, he can only control things he puts in the construct bubble, not anything that was there or enters it, unless they agree to it affecting them. The further from his hand that he manifests the construct, the more difficult and strenuous it is on him. This also applies to the size of the construct, and what is contained within. Primal elements are the easiest, as are metals such as iron. By charging it up a bit, he can create more than one construct at a time, but each increases the strain exponentially.
Magic Weaknesses: He needs access and mobility of his hands to do his magic, as it focuses his spells. Also, the power of the spell is directly proportional to mental strain. So, he can't cast spells when his hands are bound closed together. Also if they're numb or paralyzed, and pain messes around with the casting. Otherworldy background magic also interferes with his magic. He's also mostly suited to a few opponents, and lacks sorely in the department of spells that could hit a wide area, having only a few, powerful ones. Casting also tends to be slow, as he needs to create the reality construct first, before changing it.
Equipment: Contained in a small sack he carries with him is a few books on arcane lore, and some food. He also keeps around a few salves of pain ointment.
Personality: Alexander tends to be distant, but not coldly so. It always seems as if his eyes see further than what he looks at, as if he's in his own world. However, when he does focus, he's generally a friendly, if serious person. He's got a strong sense of adventure, as well as wrong and right.
Bio: Alexander grew up carefree, unbeknownst to him living in a sort of meshed reality of his own and the real one. After this was discovered, his parents sent him to the Academy of Magical Instruction to learn how to control his powers, much to his chagrin. Never again was he able to see that little sphere of his own personal paradise, and he longs for it everyday. Still, he doesn't forget who he is, and tries his best not to give in to living in that fantasy world anymore. After he graduated, he just wandered around for a while, making a living as a wandering mage for hire, taking small jobs such as assisting more accomplished wizards.
However, he soon discovered his magic had a dark side. His worst fears could inhabit it without him trying, as an unconscious reflex, which is how he scarred his right hand when he tried to defend himself from his own reality, despite lacking the focus needed for it.
Still, he got along well enough for most of his life, not all that much special happening to him.
He comes from Cerandul, a mystical province of great mages, each with strange, almost unique powers. It's mostly temperate in its climate, and mainly trades in goods of a magical nature.

Basically, he can create small areas of his own personal reality which he can basically use to create his spells. He channels this magic through his hands, creating the frame of a construct. This in itself takes time, depending on how large it is. After that, he can basically manifest almost anything inside the construct, within reason. As it becomes more complex, so does the drain on him become larger. The prime elements like fire or water are easiest to manifest, and basic metals like iron are also pretty simple.
To use any of these, Alexander needs a lot of focus, or else the construct will break apart or, in the worst cases, explode when something is manifested. Background magic, pain, and his own fears will interfere with casting, increasing the chance of mishaps. When his hands are tied together, numb or paralyzed, he can't do anything. Also, it takes time to create both construct and contents, so his casting is quite slow. While he can create more than one at a time, it drains him more with each one.
In essence, he's all about strong, but slow attacks, normally on only one or two targets.
hey, is there any space for me to jump in? also, are races from fictional worlds accepted (i.e., manaketes and taguel from fire emblem awakening, hobbits from lotr, etc.)?
You call Hamlet an emo teen, but wouldnt you be pissed if your mom used the leftovers from your dads funeral at her wedding to your uncle?- Name: Robin
- Age: 17
- Gender: Female
- Race: Dracona
- Race Description: (A humanoid race native to the caves at the feet of the Mountains of Noverist, where it is not as cold as it is farther up. They have prominent, pointed ears, forked tongues and eyes with slit pupils. They tend to be slightly shorter than the average human, usually about five feet at adulthood. They also have an expanded lifespan of about 25 years compared to humans, and age slower as a result, reaching adulthood around the age of 21. They are widely known for their greed, excellent night vision, and amazing sense of smell, and many have a predisposition to fire magic, though this is not always the case. They are often stereotyped as greedy and overly obsessed with the ownership of gems, semi-precious crystals, precious metals, and related things, often called a hoard, though this is mostly because many dracona use these materials to channel magical energy and recharge their magic. Their name would imply a relation to dragons, but they are thought to be more closely related to wyverns or snakes.)
- Appearance: Robin is about 4’6” with a slight build. She has dull, messy purplish-grey hair that reaches her shoulders and dull red eyes. She wears a pendant on a silver chain with space to interchange various gems and bits of metal. She wears a red cloak with a broad yellow trim over a short sleeved black shirt. she also wears a pair of tan knee-length pants and while she carries a pair of brown boots, she prefers to walk around barefoot. Her skin is almost strangely pale, similar to someone who spends much of their time inside of caves.
- Magic: Due to the draconic method of using precious metals/gems/etc. to power magic, Robin can use many types of magic, but has a talent for fire magic and prefers it unless she's in a pinch.
- Magic Weakness: Since her magic is powered by gems and such, if she loses them or they are stolen, she cannot cast. Additionally, if they are overused before recharging them or strained, they may become useless for charging magic.
- Equipment: Pendant made to hold various gems/metals for casting magic, Cross-body bag holding the following: smaller bag containing hoard, snake food, small dagger in case of emergency, a few first aid items (bandages, pain salve, etc.), canteen holding water, and a bag of dried meat.
- Personality: Robin is very practical and has low empathy, and loves competition, or more accurately, winning. However, she is fiercely loyal, and may even stick around to the point of being a bit annoying. She is very confident in combat situations, but much less so in social ones, preferring the company of her snake familiar, Martius.
- Bio: Robin, like many dracona, grew up alone from a relatively young age. At the age of seven, Robin's parents, for lack of a better word, keeled over, leaving her to raise herself. Though she was old enough to hunt food for herself and find a nice cave to live in, she had such limited contact with creatures other than her snake familiar and the creatures that she killed and ate that by the time she left the mountains and mingled with other intelligent creatures, she lacked many social skills and was nearly tactless. While she eventually adapted to more social environments, she is still hard to get along with. She eventually turned to dungeon crawling for a way to spend her time, collect more wealth, and bring her glory and praise.
- Other: She has a snake familiar, a ball python named Martius which has been with her since the age of fourteen whom she considers family, and will defend as such.
Well, character wise, I see nothing wrong. But could you explain her magic a bit better. Like, why does she need gemstones to power it? How do they power it-does she eat them, does she absorb some kind of energy from them, what? And when you say 'many types of magic', do you mind giving me a list of what she properly can and cannot do, just so she can't use a 'deus ex machina'.
oh! sorry. magic wise, she has to have them nearby and be focusing on which one she wants to use, so if there were one, say, across the room, she couldnt use it, she would have to pick it up and charge it first. in regards to what she can use, its strictly elemental (fire, water, earth, and air) and in regards to what type of stone shes using, so for example, if she was trying to cast fire magic, she would have to have that type of stone, she couldnt just pick up some random rock off the ground to use it. she carries mostly fire stones since that what she specializes in too, so shes limited in regards to that too. i hope that makes sense, and if theres anything else i need to specify/change, please just say so!
You call Hamlet an emo teen, but wouldnt you be pissed if your mom used the leftovers from your dads funeral at her wedding to your uncle?I've been feeling a strange urge to play a guy like this for a while, so I might as well see if I can use this thread to vent that urge.
- Name: Grendan
- Age: 17
- Gender: Male
- Race: Human, technically
- Appearance: Short white hair, brown eyes, rather nondescript skin color... and, oh yeah, he's 9 feet tall and extremely muscular. He's perpetually shirtless (since it'd be too much trouble to get something in his size) and wears a pair of shorts, iron gauntlets, and heavy boots. If anyone sees him without his enhancements, he's a somewhat scrawny guy who's only about 5 feet tall, though thankfully not emaciated; this form is only likely to be seen if his magic gets dispelled, though.
- Magic: Muscle Wizardry. This rare form of magic specializes in long-term physical enhancement and healing, though there are also a few short-ranged offensive spells available. Practicing this branch of magic has two known side-effects: The augmentations to the body also increase size for the duration of the spell, and the method of gathering power renders the practitioner somewhat resistant to necromancy. Muscle Wizards generate magical power through physical activity (the more strenuous the activity, the faster the generation), and tend to cast with quick motions of their arms to offset the cost of casting; that this tends to involve punching enemies while blasting them with a force bolt is just an added bonus, as far as they're concerned. Understandably, Muscle Wizards tend to lead lives with high levels of physical activity, with comparatively short periods of time dedicated to research.
The primary weaknesses of this form of magic are that its spells are rather simplistic due to a combination of short research times and the requirement for physical activity to power them (and thus comparatively easy to dispel compared to the power put into them), and extremely limited range (just outside arm's reach). It's also, incidentally, rare primarily because it requires a certain quirk of physiology in order to convert effort into magic directly.
- Equipment: Grendan's gauntlets have a small protective enchantment on them, both to preserve them and to protect his hands when he punches things a person probably shouldn't be punching. He also carries weights, several kinds of dried foods, and a minimum of five skins of water at all times in a heavy-duty satchel.
- Personality: Grendan... isn't entirely there mentally, to be quite frank- non sequiturs, completely missing the point of conversations, and occasional blatant randomness are to be expected (nothing too bad, thankfully- he at least keeps the randomness verbal only, and can even hold a coherent conversation if he tries). Highly proud of his overdeveloped physique, and works to maintain it as long as he can, especially in light of what he's like without his magic augmentations. That said, he's fully capable of being serious when he recognizes the need, and rather than hamminess he tends more toward sarcasm. He DETESTS being considered a burden, and will, if given the opportunity, work to rectify that status however possible.
- Bio: Grendan, despite his current appearance and unnatural vitality, was quite sickly and frail as a child, hospitalized often and taunted by his peers for being a "runt" or a "burden." However, his talent for Muscle Wizardry was discovered when one of the medical mages who cared for him noticed that the walks he regularly took generated minute amounts of magical power; shortly afterward, he was apprenticed to the only practitioner of the craft on the staff. His current size and physical ability are the result of nearly a decade of strenuous activity and diligent enchantment.
On a side note, he seems to have overcompensated for his puniness as a child when he learned to perform the enhancement spells himself.
- Other: Has a familiar (or perhaps "pet") silverback gorilla. Claims to have tamed a bear at some point, but this is not commonly believed due to lack of proof.
You know, I try not to hold favorites when I host R Ps, but damn, I love this guy! And it looks like everything is in order.
Grendan is accepted.

I am also interested if space is available.
