Damien smiled and opened his mouth to order when the waitress came over, only for her to run by, chased away by her manager before he could place an order. He blinked and looked around a moment.
"I know it's early, but was that seriously the only waitress? Man, the people who'll agree to work at 6 AM. Ah well, I guess I can wait."
His stomach rumbled and he groaned.
"...dear grandma why did I eat a light dinner last night."
What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?Nothing to see here.

http://www.last.fm/user/sgtpendulum Yo, check out what I'm listening, it'll be heat, brah :^)Diana grumbled, "Alright, I'll let you have one sip." Then plucking the coffee out of Rachel's hand, she had a sip of her own before handing the warm cup over to Tsukika. "And since I saw you take that sip already, that's enough for you. Here you go, Ta-chan. Remember, just a sip; don't chug it."
Dusting herself off and having her... transformative parts rescind away, Diana did her best to stand dignified as she walked Tsukika into the diner, sharing the booth of some more travelers on their trip - namely Andreia and Damien. After a few more minutes, a waiter finally came by, a young white haired rabbit boy obviously on his first part time job.
"Sorry for the wait! What will you be having?"
"A meat lover's omelet for me, and strawberry delight pancakes for sunshine-before-morning here."
"And what will the other couple be having?" he asked Andreia and Damien.
Damien couldn't help but chuckle at the waiter.
"We aren't a couple, actually." He smiled. "We're just friends, all going on a road trip. And just plain pancakes for myself, thanks."
He leaned back, stretching, and yawned.
Hope Danica doesn't think I'm trying to steal her girl. He mused. It was certainly a meaningless thought brought on by tiredness. Besides, Marvin was hotter.
What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?"Roundabout?" Alexi parroted, her curiosity peaked. "Well, could you...play it for me? Can you play without any help or do I just strum anyhow and the song will play? Oh, before that though..."
She walked over the to the group outside of the restaurant with Bud still strapped onto her and asked "So which one of us is 'leading' this road trip?" with a finger quote on the leading. "I'm pretty sure we're not gonna be just going to Waterstock and do nothing afterwards..."
http://www.last.fm/user/sgtpendulum Yo, check out what I'm listening, it'll be heat, brah :^)Andreia finished eating her pancakes and headed outside with her coffee, passing Danica on the way. "Oh, hey Dani." After taking a closer loom at Danica, she said "Man, you look bushed. Here, take my coffee." She offered the cup to Danica.
“Not a promise, not an oath, or a malediction or a curse. Inevitable." - Taylor Hebert"But I don't even know the song!" Alexi stated with confusion. "How do you play one song when I'm just guessing how it goes entirely?"
Regardless, Alexi trusted in Bud's words, mostly to experiment on his claims, and strum away on the D string randomly.
http://www.last.fm/user/sgtpendulum Yo, check out what I'm listening, it'll be heat, brah :^)"Okay, yeah, if you just play along, you'll... you'll intuit what to play..." Bud started doing a quick progression of notes, a hard and low set of chords. "This rhythm repeats through most of the intro, but you need to play with me if I want to get it perfect. Listen to what I'm playing and close your eyes. Feel my consciousness and yours. It's a little harder than a normal bass, but it's way more rewarding."
Alexi listened closely, nodded at every instruction the bass guitar has to say, then when he finished, Alexi closed her eyes, perked her ears up and said "Okay, I hear ya, let's...ergh...rock."
She cringed a little when she said 'rock', sounds a bit too old school for her but whatever.
"I'll follow your notes, just lead the way."
http://www.last.fm/user/sgtpendulum Yo, check out what I'm listening, it'll be heat, brah :^)With Damien and the Lovely Ladies
There was a brief moment of awkwardness as the waiter proceeded the information presented to him. Then with a flush and a bow, he immediately apologized.
To Damien: "I-I'm sorry, I just assumed-"
Then immediately to Andreia: "Ah, s-sorry too about the confusion- oh how did I not notice you already had stuff, ah give me a sec, coffee, right, right..."
Scribbling down all the info, the bunny waiter headed off to place the order.
"...I know some people who'd eat that boy alive," Diana said to herself.
After serving Andreia her coffee and the others their drinks, and after Andreia set outside, the waiter returned with everyone's meals and set them down. "There you go, and sorry again about all the mix up... Will there be anything else?"
Diana put her hand over Tsukika's mouth, instinctively, before she could order more coffee.
-“-exactly the same, but I thought we could find a common point there.”
Alice babbled in a slightly gargled manner just as her motor and cognitive functions reactivated. It seemed like her train of thought was still rolling even as she was in stand-by, which was why her words came up as a non-sequitur. Nonetheless, she soon noticed what had just happened, and she was kinda mortified to she her friend and some new acquaintances carrying her around as if she was an unconscious drunk.
-“Pardon me, Lyndi, fellows: Could you please put me down? I can walk by myself once again. Sorry for the inconvenience.”
"It's better to burn out... THAN TO FADE AWAY!""There's a pedal that can play backwards?" That's all Alexi managed to say, to play a complicated bassline like this without any fuck ups doesn't put words into her mouth to show how amazed at such power. But as the sun rises from the west, she realized that the road tripper's strapped for time already.
...
But she ain't gonna let go of the bassline. Alexi got up, with Bud still in hand, walked over to the group outside of the restaurant and announced, though obviously at unease with the volume she's speaking in, "Guys, we need to go! We're going to lag behind time!"
She relayed the same message to the people inside, though with Bud still in her hand, she push the door with her feet. After that she went out again and started to look for Alice. At first distressed after she realized that the robot girl was nowhere to be found anywhere in the parking lot, once she looked up, she feel confused at why the dragon wannabe is gripping Alice.
"Eyo! Let go of Alice, I'll gonna be riding with her!"

http://www.last.fm/user/sgtpendulum Yo, check out what I'm listening, it'll be heat, brah :^)"I am pleased to see you are awake again, Alice." Lyndi gently set her friend's legs down. "While I have no doubts in your grandfather's talent, perhaps we shall be fortunate and come across one who is more suited to fix this glitch than he."
She then spun her head around as Alexi talked to her. "We are to depart now? Oh, how joyous!" Her tail tapped against the ground, rhythmically, her excitement clear. She indicated towards the RV. "Would I be correct in assuming that I am to ride in that vehicle? I seem to be too large to be accommodated by 'The Enigma'."

Imagine Alexi's excitement right now, riding on her friend's vehicle, on a road trip with the first major destination is the ever legendary Waterstock Music Festival, at her hometown no less. Though, to be fair, the road trip is very loosely planned, and Waterstock is still days away, so the group is planning to just fuck around, for a lack of a better term, for a bit before getting there, and then plan the next major destination after that. Still, she can't wait to show her friends the new underground(or in her term, underwater, haha) stuff she has been listening to over the years and she can't wait to convert them from plebeians to hipsters.
Not that's not the only reason, she also just wants to enjoy the company of her friends and have some fun. What kind of fun, she's not sure, but it would certainly be better than just sitting at her dorm, shitposting 'ironically' on /mu/ like the last few summers.
Alas, Alexi can't exactly express that excitement since she's dozing off in her seat. Nine AM is awfully early for a bunch of college students.
http://www.last.fm/user/sgtpendulum Yo, check out what I'm listening, it'll be heat, brah :^)Finally on the road, and with seemly endless possibilities, and all kinds of strange and unique experiences waiting for her, Alice's spirits were as high as they could get right now, despite the blank expression on her face.
Even the most mundane sights on the road, (like the sporadic vehicle, the lonely billboard, or the roaming creature) and all the “empty” space between points of interest were fascinating to her, as she hadn't personally seen other landscapes beyond the limits of her hometown, (at least, as far as she remembered) so even these simple things sparked her imagination and curiosity.
Nonetheless, there was something that mortified Alice right now: The ceaseless and annoying noise of the RV's old engine. It wasn't the sound itself what it bothered her, but the fact that her fellow trippers had to endure it because of her. (since she was the one that donated it for their trip) She could stand that obnoxious cacophony, but she wasn't sure if her organic mates would be so resilient.
-“I apologize for the engine's noise. Grandpa warned me it would be a little loud, but I didn't know it would be this bad. I'm so sorry everyone.”
She exclaimed as she addressed the group as a whole.
"It's better to burn out... THAN TO FADE AWAY!"Unbeknownst to Alice, Alexi woke up when the robot apologized for the rickety engines.
"Oh, don't worry about it," Alexi lazily assured as she squirmed in her seat and blinking hard against any light that came into her amphibious eyes. "Back where I live, there's always submarines driving by my family's flats...erm, that's what we called apartments underwater, and some of them are pretty rickety. I get used to it."
What Alexi will never seem to get used to is the strange voice Alice is using and her weird emphasis on some words, which is somewhat poetic, since that's how Alexi managed to hear that monotone machine voice out of the crowd and spotted her, then she went up to her, commented about how robotic her voice is and somehow, they ended up as acquaintances and eventually friends. She was not sure about other people being that excited to see a humanlike robot but to her, it's her first time seeing one and it's completely amazing and surreal at just how human Alice is.

"It's not my money, Diana, it's daddy's money... And besides, you know you love the birthday present I give you" says Rachel slowly and with a bit of a tone an adult would take explaining something to a child... while sipping her coffee and letting out a little sigh of happiness. Taking advantage of the small bit of darkness there is still before the morning comes when asked for the coffee back she goes "Eeehh, come on Diana~ Let me take a sip... also, hi there Tsukika. Nice to see you here" says the vampire with a little smile.
