Oh no, the Nightsong was absorbed into another guy entirely right as Cecil was going to give her a piece of bread. He quietly mutters "Hey what are you doing" whilst Vladek takes in Nightsong's immortality. He's pissed at him for interrupting what could have been a tender moment but he's way too focused on helping the ones in need to really do anything and instead just offers the bread he made earlier to her to munch on.

He'll have a word with Vladek but it's probably not a good idea to instigate what could be a murderhobo in their ranks while someone is hungry.

...

Morgan/Azura

Screw the actual objective of taking down Morgan, the moment Mark sees Azura, it's on sight for him. He swings out a fireball to contend with the flowers that's being sent after them, even if it's a ploy for his actual attack, the fact that Mark's running for Azura's flank to approach her from an unusual angle means he's gaining distance away from Morgan.

He's unleashing more flame-amplified whips at Azura, even though he's coming in from her flank to suddenly ambush, he'll eventually run in tandem with Beruka's general direction (or at least catch up to it), seemingly getting the hint and Refia's suggestion to lure her.

Blind to the tides turning against the favor of his army beyond the stage, Mawgrim felt the raw strength, the sheer power the small ‘umie bore within itself, and reacted in the only way an ork would when faced with the promise of a legendary brawl: a long and hearty laugh of delight. Though his laughter soon dies down as Morgan begins screaming in pain, replaced by an almost disappointed groan at the child’s display of weakness.

The flowers are spread across the field and Mawgrim begins to feel his thirst for battle simmer. He recalled the wizards of the Empire and their efforts to calm the tides of war with grand spells cast against entire armies. They were effective against most—save the corpse legions which had no individual will to fight, and were rather puppets—but were rarely effective against orks; not for some inherent resistance they had against the magic, but rather because of the sheer volume of their will to fight. They could be calmed, given time, but because it took so long to drain their vast amounts of bloodlust down to a manageable number, the magetowers were often crumbled and drowned by a green sea before their targets could be fully placated.

It was much the same here; though the flowers began to sap his WAAAGH! energy to the point where he visibly shrunk a foot or two, Mawgrim trampled through the field like an oversized Hulk child, never keeping Morgan out of his sight, always reminding himself of his purpose! Even as the thorns surged towards him he kept running. Blocking was for ‘umies too scared to feel pain. When an ork was faced with an attack, he ran through it! And that was what Mawgrim might’ve done, had the thorns not proven fake.

He ignored Morgan’s warning as the shards rained across him, all leaving only minor scrapes and cuts, save one. Mawgrim didn’t stop charging until he found he could charge no more, toppling over and collapsing as the bud embedded within him had grown to the size of a human’s chest. But he had no interest in nor time for Leonidas to remove the rosebud for him, reaching a hand to the plant and tearing it out of his ribcage. A fountain of emerald fluid exploded from the hole in his torso, but though it sapped no more he found himself tired, on the verge of peace, the worst possible fate to a creature such as him. His muscles trembled and shook and failed him as he tried to rise, his mind could think naught of battle nor bloodshed, his eyes began to grow dark as he lifted them to Morgan…

Morgan.

"GRAGH!" The savage and guttural half-roar bubbled in his throat as he remembered why he did anything, his purpose here on this planet, any planet, the reason for his entire being: "WAAAGH! WAAAAAGH!!" Orks did not function the way other beings did. When they grew tired, they did not need rest,'' like inferior beings did. They needed only a reminder to get back to their feet, they needed only the premise of another fight to keep pushing forwards. They need only the spirit of the WAAAGH!

Mawgrim’s roar evolved into a howl from the chest as he erupted back to his feet, exploding towards Morgan, leaving his axe behind as he opted to throw hands with the child instead; the green and muscular right fist and the red and metal left mace both working in tandem to batter and bruise the child’s torso, aiming for his ribs, his collarbone, his gut; anything that could be broken, he intended to destroy.

Pucci grunted as he heard Ketheric falling, the flesh splat of his body against the surface, only to be rebuilt once more. He hadn’t noticed the pear, but was content for a moment to leave the warlord there and call it a day.

No. That is my fear speaking, but I must not let it have a voice. A loose end cannot go untied.

"I…have an idea."    He spoke aloud.    "It’s not likely to work, but it’s worth trying. My ability entails theft: I can steal both memories and ability, if I get within range of someone, thus preventing them from accessing either. However, there’s a caveat: I can’t choose what power I steal. If he has more than one supernatural ability, something he’s been hiding up his sleeve…it’s up to fate alone which one I end up taking."    Pucci explained. He understood the risks well, that to come within range of Ketheric—who excelled at close-combat battle—he’d stand no chance against the warlord.    "I can try to use his immortality, if I gain it, to withstand being so close to him…but if not, I’ll need a failsafe. Some way for someone to pull me out before he kills me. And, of course, I’ll need a way down…"

With great power…you know the rest.

As he looks over the menu, Thor answers Ishizu with a nod.

"Remember to be careful how you speak to him, though. He's likely still reeling from a certain event, and I'd hate for us to accidentally set him off."

Loki finishes the remainder of his chicken.

"Excellent meal. My complements to the chef."

He pours himself another glass of champagne.

"Regarding Ninten, if he is indeed in no mood for a conversation, I imagine he wouldn't take kindly to anyone pressing a certain issue. Just a thought."

"No need to worry.", Ishizu says, but agrees.

"I will contact him for you then.", Pseudo says as he grabs a communicator.

"Thank you. Ah, as for food, can I have some sushi?", Ishizu says, the latter half to Alt.Demo, who responded to Loki with a nod.

"I still can't comprehend what you see in raw fish, but sure. Winged girl, your rice'll be done in a minute."

"Alright.", Iris says, staying near the counter.

On the further topic of Ninten, Locke agrees with Loki.

"If he makes it clear he doesn't want to, we shouldn't pressure him."

"There should've been an alarm if we had an intruder, unless they came in with you somehow.", Pilly says as she walks to the door too, opening it further and looking in. Nobody yet.

"Did they go downstairs? There's nothing of value down there-"

Pilly then gasps.

"Oh, wait, that huge cannon we have against aerial attacks is down there! What if whoever's down there starts messing with it? We gotta make sure that doesn't happen!"

Ashes of Nohr - IGNITION

Moonrise Battlefield

As Mawgrim battles Morgan, their forces find themselves battling great odds themselves. Perhaps too great for even them, for the breaking point mentioned above has been reached : screams of death and agony echoes around the battlefield as orks or Githyankis find themselves cornered and isolated, the former laughing in brutal delight still as they chop down the undead, but still finding themselves a part of the horde all too often.

Two more bones spikes sprout from the ground, causing further chaos and destruction as more undead soldiers drops unto the Githyanki squads, brutally isolating them from their allies. Massive Smelter Demons grabs Orks and Githyankis alike and go back to the Old Chaos to burn them to death, when they aren't content just incinerating them.

Still, undead falls, and the air is thick with the ashes of Smelter Demons - the Githyankis and Orks are losing, but they are not going down easily. And plenty of them still remain, with some isolated Githyankis having to fight alongside Orks to fend off the overwhelming odds.

Moonrise Battlefield - Morgan

Morgan inwardly smiles and scoff as he sees the group approach him, falling headlong into his trap. Even his wood covering being set on fire, while the most upsetting thing to happen to him, still couldn't make him genuinely panic, even if he put up a pretty good face for it.

Binding Vow: Make my horns the most durable part of my body, making the rest of it frailer, in exchange for increased Cursed Energy output.

In short, any attack specifically targeting that part of his head would not work, while the rest of his body would become much easier to damage. It's why he had bothered to goad them so openly into attacking a part of his head that he'd covered up to add further incentive to attack there and not somewhere else. And that way, he could buy himself some time, as he did here, slamming his hands together and raising one towards the group, thumb pressed against the palm of his hand with all of his fingers pointing skywards.

How about I plan out removing this hostile parasite from my body first? Law nods to Ms.Thingies as she raise a green shield, and teleport off the Cursed Buds, gathering them under his foot and quickly crushing them.

The various projectiles hit his wooden shield, and Bucky's grenade and Karzon’s mace even break it, but Morgan doesn't slow down. Which could be a hint, even if his horns weren't hit.

Collapsed Husk. Barren Soil. Inert Glass. DISASTER PLANTS.

With his Cursed Energy Output all manners of enhanced, and with the full Cursed Chant sang, the roots that Morgan creates are horrifically fast despite their size and violence, attempting to violently slam against the group, emerging just as Mawgrim get closer to him, with Morgan's eyes widening in slight fear at the realization the Ork had not fallen into his trap. Leonidas will be able to shield Nina, using his spinning shield and shoving her behind him as he keeps the roots away. But he can barely do that off his centuries of combat experience. And Law and Kusakabe both perform far more poorly, with Law finding his hands and arms wrapped up especially.

Nevermind the sheer concussive damage : the roots attempts to warp against the bodies of those that get knocked down by it, with the ground itself becoming a rolling sea of thorns, making it difficult for grounded units to keep their footings. And for aerial units, or good jumpers, the thorns shoot out of the ground. Not just to catch them, but to create a miniature thorny forest in front of the stage, partially snapping some of Joseph's strings along the way.

As for Ms.Thingies's shields, the roots try to gather around it to crush it. Due to Morgan's spell being all manners of amplified, and Ms.Thingies's shields weakened, they try crushing the shield directly by applying monstrous pressure. But he first try having roots emerge from under the shield to snag the group under his plantular grip!! Meanwhile, Morgan is restrained, but with his current Binding Vow, he isn't affected as much as Garon. And he aims down the portal to send a sharp shard of wood at it, attempting to forcefully free himself otherwise to jump up and join his structure.

You can't use your parrying technique in the air, right?! And you, you can't use those moves of yours to teleport off with your hands tied! Morgan jump about, his speed enhanced (even if it was still below Azura's by a large amount) by his raising output. The group is left to hover in the middle of the forest, with thick thorns wrapped around their waists and arms, sparing only Leonidas and Nina. Not that Morgan cares for them too much : he focus more on whoever evaded the thorns to start with.

Corrin didn't see Morgan as much, but he had to acknowledge his tactical prowess and strategy. And sadly, those traits passed over to Demented Spirit Morgan, who knew that the best way to neutralize a group trying to overwhelm him was to make the environment something only he could master. And isolate them one per one, if not take them out in one attack entirely.

And while he'd try to open up his Domain to score an easy kill, he had to admit that he was fearful of the Emperor interrupting that. As such, Morgan contends with having an enormous rose start blooming in the middle of the forest, Cursed Energy radiating out of it as it begins drawing in energy. The consequences for the group if it's left to bloom will be suitably tragic. And if Morgan is going with this solution instead of trying to crush it, it's because the roots are still mostly good for restraining people and objects.

The bloom of this rose will strip you down to the bone! I guess it's a fitting fate for thin-skinned individuals like you!

Morgan does not restrain En Ryuu as hard as the others. Mostly because he's banking on it trying to free itself and accidentally setting the entire forest on fire, including its allies. As for Morgan, he jump up the air to try to go after Mawgrim (even if he got caught) and those who can fly and escape his roots, attempting to slam them into a thorny little room above the rose area, which close up behind the fighters once Morgan enters.

Get me free and I'll be able to get us out of here! Law curses.

Morgan understood that being so durable made him compliant, he needed to put himself in danger. And out of everyone so far, Mawgrim was the person closest to having his malicious "respect".

You, I'll beat you to death with my fists! Let's go! Morgan says, immediately running in to try to slam his fists against the chests of Mawgrim and whoever else is with him.

LAW, KUSAKABE - UNAVAILABLE

LEONIDAS, KAA - AVAILABLE

Azura, meanwhile, runs after Beruka. But having slowed down slightly, she's in place for Pampin to punch her, sending Azura flying forward past Beruka. At the last moment though, right as she's about to hit the strings, she stops herself by slamming the air in front of her... And then has to dodge the ice beams tossed her way, not noticing the metal muzzle on her mouth.

Sadly, and to spell it bluntly from the start, the muzzle doesn't really block her speed. Azura's whistling before doing a high-speed attack is merely an habit she inherited from one of her Memorlies. A little habit she find to be a waste. And if anything, the muzzle would probably help her. Luckily, the sudden realization that she has it cause her to be hasty, and she finally close in on the strings.

Refia will be able to shoot out her White Magic into it, and Joseph does the same with Hamon, causing Azura to be engulfed in both kind of energies as she screams in pain and agony. While initially willing to target her, Corrin stops as he winces in pain from hearing it. But he and Kaa keep going... though Morgan's empowered rampage cause them both to hesitate. After quickly nodding at one another, Kaa is sent to fight Morgan, while Corrin flies after Azura.

Azura, who's struggling with being hit and immediately blasted by the Emperor with a Mind Blast (duh), causing her brain to lock up for the briefest of moment. A moment that Beruka immediately use for her benefit, squatting to the side and leaning a bit on her left as she raise her left arm and give Azura the meanest punch she can throw. Her focus is iron, letting none of her anger at Azura cloud her judgement as she toss the meanest punch in her life at her stomach.

And the sparks of black...

dance again

BLACK FLASH!    Azura barfs out blood behind the muzzle as her body almost break in half, Beruka having punched her with enough strength to easily snap them. But still, with Azura being on the defensive, Beruka try pressing on without her allies, fearlessly running in after her, letting the Black Flash fuel her speed and reflexes as Azura attacks without even having recovered fully, still sliding back as she toss in what feels like a few hundred stabs of her naginata. She bobs and weave in between them, her Construction Magic slipping out from her back to form small round platforms behind, above and around Azura, the speed of it enhanced by Beruka's discovery of the Black Flash.

Choso help further, scattering some blood orbs around Azura as floating orbs. Not damaging her due to them not going off, but still blocking her way further, boxing her in, and making it more difficult for her to evade the attacks.

Left unable to quickly flee to one direction, Azura keeps her face cool as she tries to jab Azura in the face. But Beruka deflects the attack by slamming it to the side with a backhand. Fast as Azura is, her attacks are predictable. And by using the Black Flash, Beruka feel like she can predict Azura easier than ever. What's more, the shock of being deflected this easily cause Azura's stance to waver, causing her to be almost lifted off the ground as her weapon buries itself into the snow ground next to her.

She's able to get it free quickly, using her high strength to swing it in a upwards diagonal arc. A desperate gesture that Mark counters when he jumps in, wrapping his whips around her arm and the weapon to cause it to get stuck in the ground, leaving Azura defenseless as Beruka once again gathers the focus she needs before punching her square in the mouth, black sparks flying from the impact point as Noah's muzzle explode into pieces, with blood and bits of teeth as part of the debris around Azura's head.

   BLACK FLASH!

Azura is, for once, completly overpowered. And as she recoils from being punched, her face twist in rage, her eyes bloodshot as she furiously snaps forward, any manner of serenity or dissonance gone from her features, replaced only with an expression of pure hatred. YOU FUCKING BITCH! She snarls, snapping back only to eat another punch to the face, black sparks flying out from her visage once again as Beruka sends her flying with abandon, letting Azura ragdolls across the battlefield uncontrollably to crash into a random large debris caused by the emergence of one of Ketheric's bones spikes, causing the top half of the debris to explode.    BLACK FLASH!

The first Black Flash earlier... and now three consecutive Black Flashes... As Beruka stands at the feet of the hill where Azura landed on, something in her eyes has shifted. For she's awakened, tapping deeply into the corner of her soul to achieve greater power. And as Corrin watch from the backlines, they both became aware of an approaching phenomenon at the exact same time both.

A small humanoid shape, approaching at a very fast speed. Not towards Azura, or Beruka, or Noah, or Charlian, but Refia.

I LOVE

THE TASTE OF

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!

The Demented Spirit Refia join the battle by trying to slam into Refia, wrapping her four arms around her counterpart as she attempts to crash into her. Should she succeed in doing that, she then try to slam Refia into Charlian, almost on accident, before trying to fling her upwards, with the Demented Spirit flying after her real self to grab her head and spin her overhead twice to throw her at the ground, at which point, DS Refia attempts to slam down into the real Refia's back, with ground-cracking strength.

Should she succeed in all of this, and in pinning down her real self, DS Refia blubbers madly, with four eyes on her face to complement her arms, a larger set of antennaes, and a oversized, fleshy-looking cleaver, with four holes on the edge of it. She try stomping on her enemy with her one foot like a petulant child.

I DONT WANNA SHARE RUMIA! DIE! DIE! DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE!

Beruka groans at the situation happening under her nose, while Corrin quickly head over to Refia to try to help her.

What the hell is that?!

It's Refia's Demented Spirit! Azura wasn't all that thorough decapitating her!

Just destroy the head. Choso says, blasting off towards the Refias.

Speaking of Azura, the hill explode as a scream of frustration ring around the battlefield, stunning Beruka as she prepares to head for the large debris. On top of it, with smoke pouring out of it, the silhouette of Azura stumbles into view, her eyes glowing blue as she prepares to strike back. And as she does that, her right arm briefly become surprisingly larger, bulking up as she begins to lean forward, covering the lower half of her face with her hand.

JOSEPH JOESTAR THE EMPEROR CORRIN CHOSOAVAILABLE

Vs Ketheric Thorm

Ketheric Thorm is in a picky situation - but not one he cannot overcome. He grabs his shield and prepare his hammer, gearing up for a smite before doing an upwards strike with his hammer. Said strike mangle his arm absolutely beyond repair but it quickly regenerate as the shield is flung towards Kidd, the sheer force behind the initial throw allowing it to go up Kidd's railgun attack, splitting it in half and allowing Ketheric some respite.

What?! Kidd screams in pain and surprise as the shield wreck his railgun (which turns into a shield), blasting him out of the air as an explosion of his own energy engulfs him. He survives, smoke pouring out of his wounded body. And as he start getting back up, Ketheric Thorm does the same, jumping upwards to rejoin the wrecked second floor, showing just enough precise control over himself to jump to the second floor.

And as he does that, Shadowheart use a Fire Bolt on Phoenix, beefing her up with her flames per request before running over to Kidd to heal him again. Curo! He's healed enough to stand up right as Ketheric arrives. And as he stands up to greet them, his movement suddenly stop. And before soon, he's left looking at his hand, his body still clad in shadows but looking noticeably... different, for what they can see. Shadowheart's eyes especially widen in horror.

Because, as Ketheric steps into the light of the moon, filtering on through the holes in the wall caused by Phoenix, the group will see that that his appearance has shifted, with his torso stretched and elongated, revealing his stomach to have been ripped out by a force that tore a hole clean through his armor. His arms are longer than they should be, reaching up to his knees, and bits of green flesh and white hair poke through his metal helmet, with it and his suit of armor both looking considerably more weathered and worn down, parts of it now rusty or inexistant.

What is below the armor is not pretty. And when Ketheric's voice filter through, it's laced with a slight echo.

What have you done?! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?! Ketheric says, knowing exactly what they have done. And when Kidd answer his request with a loud cackle, delighted at his panic and fear, Ketheric roar in abject anger and fear, which he quickly make up to be the former, menacingly stepping over to the group; Pathetic wretches!

You don't look so healthy, General! But you can count on me to have you look even worse before we're done wi- Ketheric doesn't abide by talking being a free action and step up to Shadowheart to punch her in the chest, at speed that surprise her. She hit the ground and slump over as he try to bash Pancho and San Martin with his golden hammer, before focusing on Phoenix, whom he try to grab by the throat before hitting with a deadly smite, having lost none of his strength.

'I have fought and killed millions like you before being given this gift! I only need to prove worthy of it again! Kidd readies a hand to grab Ketheric with, attempting to have him pinned down, but he gather a lot of metal first to try to make that possible!

Moonrise Grave - Nightsong

The Nightsong's eyes widen as Vladek achieves his goal: siphoning off her immortality, and Ketheric's by proxy. But while Ketheric is harshly hit, the Nightsong's overall appearance remains identical, if sadly pinned down. Base miscreant! What devilish trickery is this?! She finds the strength to yell, shaken at the infamy of being held down by a madman, and finding herself still abused by another. And as the infernal chains around her are snapped by Arbiter, Zuko, Marco and Salazar are up to carry their group in terms of reacting to a maniac seizing immortality.

W-wait! What are you doing?! We were out to stop a madman from achieving immortality, not empower you! While Vladek could be argued to be simply very pragmatic, Zuko can tell that his Evil Laugh is not simply gleeful mirth. And if they needed an immortal ally, the Nightsong surely could have been that.

Yeah, that isn't exactly a good thing to do, buddy. Marco says, sprouting his wings and trying to make himself more menacing. Not because he think he is menacing, but to have Salazar shoot through the wings right afterwards, attempting to futilely nail Vladek in the head. He knows it's pointless, but it make up for the lack of reaction from everyone else.

I'm just surprised it took you that long to turn against us! Salazar says, still trying to sound cheery, but keeping a thin threat to his face. Depending on what Vladek does next, they then either prepare for a fight... Or rush to the Nightsong. For an immortal being, suddenly being mortal is a scary feeling indeed - but not one she can dwell on for too long.

Lay a hand on me, O brave friend. For, diminished as she is by the works of devils and tricksters, Lady Aylin only need the slightest of push to take flight again, and bring divine punishment upon Ketheric Thorm - He who wages war on Life! She raise her hand, and should anyone touch it, the Nightsong smiles as the light of the moon bears down on whoever does the deed, going down their arm towards her. It streams around her body, dispelling the hands floating around her as she begins to raise her right arm.

Below, the Necromite swarm gather - and Zuko, Marco and Salazar realize that they are in danger of being overrun, Lady Aylin slams her hand down on the ground with enough force to dissipate and shatter the green summoning circle around her.

DAME AYLIN

OUR LADY OF SILVER! HEAR ME! SHE WHO GUIDES, THE MOONMAIDEN SELUNE! MOTHER OF THE SO CALLED NIGHTSONG! THE NIGHTSONG... Dame Aylin raise her fist again, and as she slams it down upon the ground, a pillar of light blast forth from the moon, engulfing the building and going down one step after the other, smaller pillars of light blasting forth from the building. The Necromites within are instantly killed, and upon reaching the ground, the beam cause a shockwave that hit all the way to Moonrise Crypt, causing the bones spikes, now arranged like a massive ribcage, to crack and shudder, white flames covering them and instantly killing any undead crawling out from them.

When the group look up, Aylin is floating over them with long white wings, clad in metal armor and a silver sword, with a helmet around her face. It still bear cracks... But silver light filter from them, and her glowing white eyes glance upon the group with a satisfied smile. HARK! WARRIORS OF THE MOON! I MUST MAKE HEADWAY TO MOONRISE CRYPT IMMEDIATELY! AND WILL CARRY A BRAVE WARRIOR OVER TO IT - FOR THE REST OF YOU, LEAP! RUN! JUMP! CRAWL! BUT MAKE IT TO THE CRYPT AT ALL COSTS! THE EVIL OF KETHERIC THORM AND AZURA END TODAY - AND LET THE RECORDS SHOW THAT NO HERO WAS FORCED TO STAND IDLE WHILE THE BATTLE HAPPENED ELSEWHERE!

My ears... Marco still smiles, glad to see she was okay. But right afterwards, he frowns. You sure you okay? You've lost your immortality, right?

AND SO HAS KETHERIC THORM! I MUST SEE TO HIS END, AND I MUST ASSIST YOU ALL IN YOUR BATTLE - YOU, WHO HAVE FREED ME FROM THIS HORRID PRISON! WORRY NOT FOR ME, NOBLE FRIENDS OF THE MOON, AND KNOW I GO TO BATTLE AS A PALADIN OF GOOD AGAINST EVIL WITH THE FIERCEST OF ARMOR - BRAVERY! Oh AND YES I WILL TAKE THE BREAD THANK YOU!! Lady Aylin offers her hand over, and the first person to take it -preferrably Arbiter wink wink- may want to put on their seatbelts as she scoops them up and fly across Moonrise Grave, heading over to the crypt as a bolt of light, with Cecil's bread lodged in her mouth.

A bolt of light that split the sky in half, dispelling the turbulent weather and cruel sky to reveal a beautiful, star-filled nightsky filled with the light of the moon. As if asserting that Selune had finally shown herself.

Zuko, Marco and Salazar watch her go, with an impressed Prime floating by.

... I don't want to sound mean, but I think we're going to have a hard time making it to Moonrise Crypt from there. And as Zuko points this out, the sound of whirring engine resonates across the rooftop, as the Batwing, piloted over by Gortash, finally shows itself, illuminating the group.

Finding yourself in need of a ride?

Luin understood the severity of the situation nigh immediately; as the bowgun bolts crackled against her suit, chipping the paint at best and leaving concerning gouges at worst, she knew that neither she nor Sebastien could withstand the assault for long. An unorthodox solution presented itself, though, with the incoming lancer. She lifted a foot to slam down on his spear as the Stained warrior approached—think Sekiro-style mikiri counter—before reaching out to grab the man and wheeling around so he’d face the gunners with her, shield and all, as she dashed towards them to eliminate the foes with a barrage of kicks and point-blank gunshots.

Ashes of Nohr - IGNITION

Moonrise Battlefield - Azura and Morgan

Well, the flail that Dracus took for his attack hits... and shatters upon impact due to the Binding Vow. R.I.P. to Karzon's main weapon.

As such, one of the empowered roots hits Dracus hard enough to make him go flying across the battlefield. He brutally hits the ground and stops moving. Whether he's dead or unconscious isn't clear.

Karzon manages to recover from the gas and, even with armor on, manages to swiftly evade a root that was headed his way. But only barely.

"Enough of this... this calls for drastic measures."

Karzon coats his hand in... light magic? Yes, that's definitely light magic, not dark magic.

a shield (notably not shattered unlike in this picture) appears in his hand, replacing the damaged shield he had before. The shield appears magic in some way too, as it envelops Karzon in a faint glow.

"With the Shield of Ages, I may yet stand a chance."

Right after this is when the ground becomes a rolling sea of thorns, and Karzon simply drops the Shield of Ages and stands on it to basically surf over the sea once it reaches him. This protects him from damage, but isn't going to protect him from being trapped in the root forest along with everyone else. Dracus, too, ends up inside it somewhere.

The roots start to bloom. Dracus and Karzon will have some extra time since they're protected by armor, but it will not protect them forever.

"I did not yet wish to use this much, but..."

Karzon is enveloped in light magic and warps over to Law's position, immediately slashing at the roots around them in an attempt to destroy them.

"I pray you hurry with getting everyone out, or we will all perish!"

Moonrise Grave - Wayne Tower

Vladek gets pushed aside, though he doesn't care. Nor does he care about any questions or accusations thrown at him. He finally has what he's wanted from the beginning.

"What I am doing is simple: gaining the power I sought. You should be grateful, for now Ketheric Thorm is vulnerable. Regardless, I still have a couple of uses of my spell, so I will go see if I can't get a little more elsewhere."

He swings his hand dramatically as his dark magic envelops him. Salazar's bullet goes through and hits him through the eye hole of his helmet, but he doesn't seem to care one bit anymore.

"Nevertheless, there's no use in fighting you. We still share a common enemy, even if our goals differ. So take the woman and do as you will... while I will go drain Ketheric's miserable peons of everything they have left! Ahahahahahahaha!"

With that, he warps away. His Shadow Knights down below vanish with him, so if there are still Necromites about, that could be a problem.

... well, Lady Aylin has that covered it seems.

Ashes of Nohr

Afterlife

As the holy flames burn away the undead and the clouds part to reveal the moon, Pyre's soul is hit with a massive influx of energy.

-woah! This is... this is something, alright!

Tower

Pyre's soul flares brightly... before forming a new body. In the crater where Pyre had detonated herself now stands a tiefling reformed. She jumps into the air, hovering for a moment before rocketing off, passing very close to the edge of the tower's roof, following the gleaming streak in the sky that is Aylin.

"Lady Aylin! I see everyone else was successful in freeing you!"

As Pyre soars along, she looks down and notes... that she doesn't have any weapons to use. She still has her magic, at least. And her claws.

"Finally taking the fight to them, then?! Let's do this!"

Courtyard

"Fucking hell-"

Noah actually looks surprised at the sheer damage Beruka managed to do to Azura. The muzzle he had conjured fades back into Magical Energy, and Noah thinks for a moment. Azura is back up, and now angry. Fun!

Strings, strings, strings- do I have anything that makes strong fibers?

The answer is no, no he doesn't. But he does have another trick he can use. One that could at least screw up Morgan.

"Fuck it- Let's do this! HOLD THE DAMN GREMLIN STILL!!"

Ally Callout: All

Drawing Rhongomyniad from off of his back, he grips it with both hands. He holds it up to the sky, light gathering and making a grand, spiraling lance of light.

"O shining light, overflow from your bounds and emcompass all of creation! Let the balancing force of this world be broken! Rhongomyniad!!

The lance starts to overflow with light right as Noah throws it down at Morgan, putting all of his strength and energy behind this strike. The lance speeds downwards, impacting right near Morgan...

THOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

...and exploding into a giant pillar of light. This will happen upon contact with the ground, Morgan himself, or any shielding, meaning it can't exactly be thrown back. At the last moment, Noah pulls his arm back, warping any nearby allies back towards him to avoid catching them in the blast.

"Hoo... that smarts..."

Noah starts to fall from the air, too exhausted to move.

Mana Exhaustion: 1/3

vs. Ketheric (now with 100% less immortality!)

Phoenix quickly absorbs the offered flame to restore some of her lost energy before raising her stun baton and meeting Ketheric's attempted throat grab head-on. She grits her teeth, the baton putting all of its power into shocking Thorm (like intended) while she clashes against him. Due to how electricity and nerves work, he might find he has trouble letting go of the baton. She reflexively twitches to the side, just barely dodging the smite, it burning away her coat and causing the flesh below to char slightly. Phoenix winces at the feeling, but doesn't let up. Seems she's not as resistant to holy energy, being the energy of gods and her not technically being one.

"You REALLY need a better move than that. It's so common!"

At the last moment, she suddenly sweeps her legs, aiming to topple Ketheric before leaping back.

Batmobile of Nohr

Save

  • > Ashes of Nohr - Nightsong
  • Mall Visits are Better with Friends

At this point "Pyra" and Squad has lost track of what is even going on. All they can do is stare in silence and awe of the Nightsong's transformation, with the only other thing that caught their attention being Zuko's remark and the Batwing.

Flying back on their own would be really slow and take up a lot of energy that "Pyra"'s saving for the fight, so the Blooms will board on the Batwing (as 4 passengers: "Pyra", Ui, Ravenos; Blizzard on the Typhoon, Splash and Zap as a stack; Bluster and Sizzle as a stack). "Pyra" will also share a sandwich they made with the Squad.

If Marco is also on the Batwing, "Pyra" would ask the following:

|You|

"What is a Devil Fruit?"

Otherwise, they would just rest and maybe read about TvTropes text formatting for future Ui Techniques.

As Katre is running back into position, Tsujigiri goes down.

   "Tch."

"Alright, Slimy, let's finish this! Return!"

Slimy uses Return, a generally strong attack further boosted by Physical Move ↑ Next from Rhea's Seed of Mastery, and the built-in property of getting stronger with Sync Buffs (which he just got).

Outside Baritone Bar

"I'm not surprised or impressed," X shoots back. He drops Vile on the ground in front of the Cybernought and dashes back, spreading his arms and expanding his Nova Aura to guard Katie and Tayden.

Because she's safe enough now, Katie is looking at the bar, trying to estimate if it's a safe distance away from the impending explosion. Would be a real shame if it got destroyed at the end of all this, if only because she wouldn't get the chance to order Energon for herself.

Ashes of Nohr

Moonrise Battlefield

Refia grabs the string, trying to keep torching Azura with holy flames.

Until she senses a demonic presence all too similar to herself, letting go just in time to get slammed into by her Demented Spirit.

Killswitch engaged.

She recovers as they're flying, grabbing onto her malevolent doppelganger's wrists and dashing in an arc around her to avoid colliding with Charlian.

"You sound more like Tzema than me."

Refia knows a weakness of hers that Rumia, and by extension the Demented Spirit, don't. And if this monster's body replicates her own, cybernetics included... then it has the same weakness.

As she pushes against the Demented Spirit, she shifts her grip to the "normal" left arm's elbow, feeling for a tiny button hidden under the loose skin where the joint meets the upper arm. By pressing it, Demented Spirit Refia's cybernetic forearm will deactivate and detach, and if the arm regenerates, it'll be made of demonic energy like most of her body.

Normally, if the arm was torn off or broken, she'd be able to regenerate the prosthetic along with the natural. But this built-in separator function is specifically designed to prevent that, and is keyed to her own fingerprints to ensure only she can do it.

The plan? By removing all the cybernetics from the Demented Spirit's body, she will not only be weaker, but become vulnerable to instant obliteration by White Magic, which Refia herself would be without all of hers.

-

Steve nods. "Let's do it, Bucky! Leonidas, we could use an extra shield!"

He rushes to Bucky's side, standing between Morgan's attack and the ex-Winter Soldier, letting his shield protect the both of them to ensure an opening to pull off their team combo. He hopes Leonidas will provide them additional cover along the way.

-

The Batwing isn't the only vehicle cruising around the Crypt and its surrounding areas.

The Batmobile comes crashing into the undead hordes, Link steering like a maniac on drugs — and not because he doesn't know how to drive, this is just his style. He activates a turbo boost and does a donut, letting the thrusters burn down the zombies in a ring of fire.

Wayne Tower

Thel 'Vadam hesitates to take the Nightsong's hand, but he ultimately does so, letting the power flow into her.

He releases to let her go sicko mode on the undead, resulting in him letting out a groan as she prompts him to take it again. He does, being ferried off to fight Ketheric Thorm.

Being undead puppets, the dark warriors don't have the reflexes to react quick enough to stop Luin from doing her thing. The bowgunners fall before her might and thankfully don't rise again.

"Seems puppeteering something dead is harder for them." Sebastien comments over their radio as he weaves around a greatsword swing before sweeping the dark warrior off its feet. He then swings his batons down to crush the head, and the parasite with it.

Back with Luin, two sword and shield warriors flank her and charge in to both swing at her at once.

”Seems so!” Luin returned, just as she was stricken by her attackers: one swing she managed to avoid, but the steel of the other scraped against the machine’s leg, sending flying a hail of sparks. She grunted and swung around to hit the puppet in the head with a pistol before firing a round into its chest, while sharply kicking out at the other.

Ashes of Nohr - Tower

That fiendish fiend! Rumia would beat him up but beating up immortals kind of gets boring after a while since they can't really die. She hopes he gets existential depression or something.

Oh shit they're about to go! And she wants to kick that Ketheric guy's butt! So she quickly grabs onto Arbiter right as the Nightsong lady takes off, causing her to yelp and hang on for dear life.

The sword and shield puppets soon fall as well. By now they've thinned the crowd considerably, especially as Sebastien uses a tornado to send some crashing into their fellows. Two last dark warriors remain. One swings a greatsword at Luin while the second convulses as the parasite bursts out from his body and tries to attack her with black tendrils.

She strafed away from the greatsword swing—avoiding it by mere inches—before the other foe burst into a Dark Souls Pus of Man ass tendril fiend, swiping at her with noodles of darkness. "Gah!" She hissed as they made contact, staggering her backwards. Luin drew both hand cannons in the Stained monster’s direction and fired rapidly, hoping for Sebastien to take care of the other.

The Stained monster of a man screeches and keeps charging at her even as she blasts chunks out of its body. Thankfully as it makes a grab for her it finally takes too much damage and keels over dead, bursting into magic energy. The other dark warrior meanwhile gets ganked by Sebastien who sends it flying into the ceiling and then right back down again with his suit's abilities I'm too lazy to remember the name of.

Anyway. The cavern is quiet once more, all their foes now double dead.

"...I hate zombies." Sebastien mutters in the aftermath.

"Are they usually like this?" Luin couldn’t help but ask. She held her guns to the side and spun them, and as she did the metal plating shifted to grant it a new form. It was green now (somehow) and considerably blunter, less of a weapon and more energy-dispersing devices, with wide discs at the end of their barrels. She took aim at herself first, firing off a few green orbs which melted into her armor to repair it, before pointing them at Sebastien and squeezing a few off at him as well.

Sebastien pointedly looked at the Stained corpse.

"No. But just as unpleasant in their own way." Sebastien sighed. He then admittedly flinched a little when she used her weird heal gun but relaxed when it repaired the dents he took in that fight.

Sebastien nods and the two head deeper into the darkness...

More crystals dot the walls, some purple and some pure black. Though as they head deeper they get the delight of also seeing black slime add to the "decor" of the place. Sebastien making a sound of disgust when some of it moves as they pass.

Soon they reach a fork in the road, two tunnels going separate ways. Luin can just barely manage to hear the vague sounds of battle down one way while the other is silent as ever.

Red Hood, Vi, and Bucky are smacked away by the sudden burst of roots, the attack breaking the faceplate of Jason's helmet enough to expose his right eye. Before any of them can recover in time, they're summarily ensnared by yet another set of roots.

"Once I'm done with that annoying little clown, Kenjaku'll be lucky if he's still a bloodstain once I'm done with him," Red Hood snarls, using the Soultaker katana to cut one of his arms free. Tossing the sword to that hand, he slices up his remaining bindings before liberating Bucky and Vi from their respective restraints.

"Well, it's official," the former Winter Soldier remarks. "I hate that slimy punk more than I thought possible."

"Join the club, Sarge," Red Hood replies. "Vi, see if you can't free everyone who's been tied up and take down that flower. I have enough experience with giant plants to know that whatever it's gonna shoot out won't be pretty."

Vi raises an eyebrow, but decides against asking about said experience.

"So, what are you gonna do?" she inquires.

"Morgan didn't seem too worried about everyone targeting that shield blocking his horns. I'm thinking his weak spot just became his strongest point," Red Hood explains. "So, I'm gonna keep hitting him until I find the new one, then make him beg for mercy he knows he'll never get; if I don't kill him on the first try."

As Jason clears a path through the mini-forest of roots by carving through it with the Soultaker, Bucky puts his shield and rifle away, then gives Steve a thumbs-up before charging straight towards Morgan.

"Here comes the clincher!"

He attempts to slug Morgan in his smug face with enough force to launch him towards Captain America, planning to pummel him senseless in tandem with the Star-Spangled Avenger. Should their combined assault prove successful, he concludes the beatdown by moving to punch Morgan's head directly into Captain America's shield.

"Unyielding Justice!"

Once the two Howling Commandos have finished assailing Morgan, Red Hood attempts to sneak up behind the pint-sized psychopath and mercilessly drive the Soultaker straight through his back.

"I've had enough of you, runt!"

-

Vi makes her way over to every ally who's currently restrained by Morgan's roots, tearing their bindings off as she does so. Once everyone's free, she points to the downed Dracus.

"Someone make sure he's still breathing."

Turning her attention to the flower, she calls out to Kaa.

"Hey, kid, help me tear that thing down before it spits up death on us."

Marching towards the aforementioned flower, she begins battering away at its stem with one well-placed punch after the other in the hopes of toppling it before it can release its payload of presumably deadly spores.

Thor and Loki both nod in agreement with Locke, before the former brother turns to Ishizu.

Sylvia wastes no time heading dowanstairs, readying herself in case she might have a fight on her hands.

"If the company survives all of this at least."

"I trust that it will.", Locke says. Given that he knows the future of the company, it's safe to say he'll be right and things will turn out alright in the end.

As Iris now takes her rice and flies towards the others, there's some quick footsteps that can be heard from the hall. Iris, Locke, Ishizu and Alt.Demo look and see-

"Yo!", Ninten says with a smirk as he runs into the cafeteria, holding a giggling Mattheo up in the air. The infant's clearly enjoying it.

"How fast. I only just now had him on the phone.", Pseudo says.

"I was already on my way 'cause it's nearly Mattheo's naptime. ... Whoa, I didn't know we got visitors. Hey Thor, Loki, angel girl!", Ninten says as he walks over to Ishizu, looking at Thor, Loki and Iris as he does so.

There's no sounds coming from downstairs. But Pilly's sure that someone must be down there, as she knows that door was closed a few minutes ago.

They'll eventually end up in the room with the hidden exit, which is also opened up. Proof that Pilly has to be right.

Pilly enters the hallway first, and-

Bap!

"AH!", Pilly yelps upon getting her knee bapped, jumping back a bit. She looks down and sees... the Deliderp standing there. Pilly lets out a sigh.

"False alarm, it's just the bird you brought with you.", she says to Sylvie as she picks up the Deliderp.

"Might be a potential ally. Or at least someone else they seem to have it out for." Sebastien comments and heads through the noisy tunnel with Luin. Soon they find themselves in a dead end of sorts where more of the small creatures they fought before are, surrounding a larger specimen of their species. Immediately noticeable is the larger one is miraculously untainted for now but the same can't be said for its fellows, who seem to be intent on ending it judging by the injuries inflicted upon it. It growls, sparking electricity as it finds itself backed against the wall.

Any enemy of Oltura’s was an ally of theirs, Luin reasoned, and thus ultimately concluded that defending the assailed beast was in their best interest. Rather than attacking the children (which she’d leave to Sebastien, thanks bud) she instead opted to heal the larger monster the same way she had herself and her ally only a few moments earlier. The downside, of course, was the brief cooldown between transformations; for the next five or seven seconds, she’d be unable to change her weapon back to an offensive tool.
