The change in the once-Poacher’s voice didn’t elude Luin; though perplexing, she found no time now to focus on it. She leaned in, tapped Deluge’s hide to get the Elder’s attention before pointing beyond it at the ground just beneath the Gravios’ feet. Heeding this came a fountain of spray from the Namielle’s jaw, intending to wet the soil beneath the giant foe and disrupt its balance, if not make it trip altogether.
Khars’Li drew back, seeing his assault fail and picking up on the same smell of gas he’d identified the monster by, only now magnified tenfold, hissing from its shell. As the space previously occupied by him burst into flame, Khars’Li reconsidered his plan. He needed another approach. The Poacher on the monster’s back seemed a fitting enough target, and presumably easier to chop in half than the beast itself, and this was all the information he needed. With blade sheathed, he dropped again to all fours and charged the Gravios, attempting to jump onto its side and climb towards the man upon it…

With the Death Army's immediate threat mitigated, Domon turns his attention back to their source.
"Hooooooooooooh...!"
His Gundam's wing-like magnetic field generators spread out, projecting a halo on its back. Its chestplate flips open to reveal a jewel-like energy multiplier, from which a wave spreads over its whole body, turning it a brilliant golden.

Raex's swollen cheeks scraped the edges of his helmet, a stark reminder of his prior confrontation with Volke. Having split from Vildebjorn temporarily, Raex's journey to their rendezvous had detoured into Estraole, the region David
had walked in his initial arrival years prior.
The steps his Lord had taken in this place were ones Raex echoed, following along in David's path and whispering gently in the templar's ear that he was on the righteous straight. Soon, he'd encounter another ally, Raex was sure of it. His azure boots crunched blackened dirt, smashing through obsidian sediment on a continual march while he scanned the surrounding area.
The bubbling flames of the volcanic activity in this region were yet another reminder of Volke, the smell of his burned flesh and the sound of his wicked laughter pushed to the forefront of Raex's mind. It was a shame that a man with such incredible determination had sunken so low, an oddly apt reminder of the corrupted men of his world. Coming to a stop at the crest of a hill, Raex's head slowly moved left to right, studying the onyx plains of Estraole.

Estraole
Adam really liked Eve and Hub Centralis but he disliked training within it. Not only because Gram's very nature made it awkward for Eve to create magic fields for him to train into, but also because he feared his intense sword training accidentally hurting innocents who hadn't done anything wrong, although Adam was convinced that, should he do that, there would certainly be slain evilgoers nonetheless.
But, not wishing to pick through the corpses to determine which had been evil and which had not purely based on conjoncture, Adam had elected to flee to a place where he was sure and certain that no regular being dwelled - the volcanic plains of Estraole, where he found adequate heat and isolation to train. There, he could be seen going as purple blurs of light, testing his speed and control over it within this realm by way of doing sharp turns, endlessly spinning around a singular stone that he pretended to be a very well-defended enemy, attacking from one side while actually attacking from the other side.
Simple tactics, but it was for a simple sword. And all was well because of that - So long as Adam kept himself sharp, so would his sword.
Nonetheless, after a little while, Adam finds himself hearing somebody's footstep and pauses abruptly, the strength and speed of his cancelled movement sending out a large shockwave, uplifting the ground and raising a colossal amount of dirt which slammed into the rock hard enough to lift it off the ground and send it flying god-knows-where.
Adam stood in place, long ears flickering, and he slowly stood up, pretending to still be looking for the intruder. If they were evil, they would try to flee or attack. If they were virtuous, they would approach him sanely. Either way, he was watching out.
Nautolan picture belongs to Bonesmarinated on twitterMansion - Filia
Not by social skill, Emma's continual omissions are easily noticed. Filia's nature as a demon clues her into such things, a subconscious instinct that kicks in like an automated lie detector. One thing she can pick up on, however, is how awkward the conversation has become for all parties, and pressing the subject further could alienate a potential ally.
"Interesting. His magic is potent, but he's keen to physical force in equal measure."
There was a dash of relief in her tone, and the demoness seemed to relax, raising a quizzical brow at Refia's comment.
"I would be a poor guest if I didn't open my ear to your struggle, Refia."
Pausing, she turned back to Emma.
"If you're offering, I'm inclined to accept, but I would be remiss if I did not stress that this man may prove to be more than you can handle."
What may appear to have sounded like concern was the demoness covering her bases, and lying to Emma would only seal her fate in Filia's eyes.
Estraole - Raex
From his hill, Raex's gaze suddenly snapped to Adam, a purple blur that danced across the black and orange environment in a vibrant contrast that demanded admiration and inquisition. Before the templar could even see the man behind the blur, Raex was certain he was who the Lord had sent him to find. Adam's sudden stop shook the hill, and Raex planted his feet in the wake of the shockwave.
"I mean you no harm! I am Raex."
He shouted, walking down the hill with a wide gait, raising his gauntleted hand to the sky with an idle wave. Adam's presence was a marvel to the templar's senses, a smile stretching from ear to ear as Raex believed he was in the presence of a paragon.
"What is your name?"
Adam
greets Raex with a wave as well, and a grand old smile. As Raex identified Adam as a noble steward fighter of justice, so did Adam, who saw in Raex someone of a caliber much needed in the Arena. Someone who, when seeing evil, wasted no time pondering on how to talk to it, convince it or calm it down. If anything, his only hesitation was picking which weapon would be best suited to efficiently murder the evil.
It was a thing between paragons - being able to notice each other off at a glance. Their radiant purity was like righteous sweat pouring off their bodies, uniquely difficult for the trained eye to miss.
Hail, Raex! I am Adam. And like you, I am a designated enemy of evil!
Nautolan picture belongs to Bonesmarinated on twitterEstraole
This swordsman's proudly righteous attitude was a refreshing change of pace compared to the muted tones Raex had grown accustomed to in recent months. Simplicity was bliss, and Adam's legendary namesake spurred the templar further. Raex bowed his head respectfully, planting a gauntlet on his chest.
"I see no reason to abuse our time with pleasantries Adam, I am seeking assistance with dousing a great evil. A demon, Lucifer, who brought my world to ruin."

The Devil Gundam lets out an unearthly screech as Domon grabs and slams it against the prison, grinding it against it. It manages to stop them halfway across though by digging in its 3 legs into the ground, capitalizing on Domon being potentially caught off guard by following up by opening its chest panels. They glow red along with its optics as it uses its Mega Devil Flash to fire a beam at close range at Domon!
If successful, its body shakes while it makes another metallic groaning sound. If unsuccessful in stopping his kick it instead catches itself in mid-air by hovering and fires a long range Mega Devil Flash.
Either way, Domon unintentionally gets it out of the way of the Hyaku Shitty's attempted headshot.
The Zaku is saved from being blasted to death by Hiling fucking throwing a dead Graze at it, which does knock it over but when it gets up; the DG cells have spread and created another Death Army. Oops. Said Death Army starts running at Domon with its big metal club.
Speaking of Grazes, 15 and 16 arrive to see the mess going on. 16 attempts shooting at Maul's MS whilst 15 hesitates and backs away due to its proximity to the Devil Gundam, whose head swivels around to notice it.

Maul meanwhile will have to deal with some of the roof also coming down towards him but he does manage to block this particular passageway from being flooded with the DG Cell infested.
Unfortunately this makes a lot of noise so unlike the stealthy Pharmaceutical Dealer he gets the full attention

Somu is ignored due to failing to do any real damage so Nick is in danger of being incinerated by a charging up Magma Beam. Only for it to go wide as it stumbles due to Deluge's trickery. The Stained Monster roars and flaps its wings for an assisted jump, before slamming down with an eartshaking thud; intent on using the tremors to knock down the various fighters.

Maul is discovered! He's been fully anticipating this but the dual-bladed lightsabre come out with less enthusiasm than it would in the usual case due to the panic going on outside, on top of outrunning his own debris. That, and he finds slugthrowers uniquely troubling because of the way they melt instead of politely bouncing off the blade back into the shooter.
Still, Maul spins his lightsaber for intimidation's sake and let the Force guide him, allowing him to see the path of the bullet. He leaps to the right side of the wall, digging his right foot in then jumping upwards into the ceiling over the guards. Then, he drop into them, bullets bouncing off his metal legs as he raises his legs high, attempting to stomp on the middle guard with his full weight while bringing down his lightsaber, attempting to have it come down as a guillotine to split the two guards into separate halves.
A bullet pierce into his right arm. He'll pull it out later.
Should it fail, Maul gets up right away by way of using his cyborg leg to spring in mid-air, doing a frontflip and spinning his dual-bladed lightsaber while upside down to try to cut down the guards. He then falls to the floor and catch himself with one arm. And, should the guards not be done by then, he flings himself upwards yet again to plant himself on the wall over them, attempting to stab them through the skull, with full intent of having his saber pokes through their crotch.
Oof.
Either way, regardless of success, Maul cracks his neck and keep running.
Le Lion Pourpre is hit in the back and falls forward, red chunks exploding out of it as it gets struck. Its deliberately-primitive AI decides to put the literal fucking demon metal robot aside to focus on something that's threatening its life first and foremost, turning around and trying to blast the Graze with its Vulcan Cannons.
Said Vulcans keep firing as it thrust forwards, attempting to stab the Graze with the Dark Saber.
As for the Zaku, it grabs its rifle and take potshots at the Death Army running at Domon's back. However, it only take a few shots before running out of ammo, requiring it to discard and reload, thus putting an early cap to its offensive.
Mal smiles for the first time in a while. And does a similar salute. She was human, but she was alright. Republic Army 97th corp Mobile Suit engineer and pilot... Technically. I wasn't really part of it but I got an ID because otherwise the space roads were all clogged up due to the war. He says.

Reyna draws a spell card...
And her grin widens.
"It's my lucky day. I play the Legendary Spell Card, Mortal Enemies!
It reduces all opposing monsters' DEF by the number of Spell and Trap Cards that have been played during the duel, for a maximum of 1000! Any monster hit by this effect that is reduced to, or, like your Jet Dragon, already at 0 DEF...IS DESTROYED AS IF BY BATTLE!"
Hiryu glares up at his archenemy, Solo, appearing in the air on Kaiba's side of the field. Hiryu leaps up, Solo jets down...
And in a Single-Stroke Battle, Solo falls, and Hiryu's slash passes through to hit both Blue-Eyes Jet Dragon and Master with Eyes of Blue. That's a solid 900 DEF reduction.
"When a monster is destroyed by the effect, I get a random one of Option A, B, or C, just like Hiryu's attacks! And I receive...Option C,
which grants the Flight effect to one of my own monsters, letting it ignore your monsters to attack your life points directly one time, in addition to inflicting the same ATK/DEF debuff as before to a random one of your monsters!"
"Now, I play the Genprey
that's been sitting in my hand in Defense Position, then play Option C on Hiryu!"
Hiryu reaches out his hand and sends forth a spherical drone, which projects the shape of a screaming phoenix out of flames. The flames also reduce both of the Master's stats to 0, due to its randomly-targeting debuff effect.
"And I attack your Life Points directly!"
Hiryu sends forth the firebird to ram into Kaiba's Hero for a clean 1000 LP damage.
"I receive a copy of Option A. Finally, with Agility to attack again, I destroy your Master with Eyes of Blue!"
Hiryu cuts down the Master, and Kaiba takes another 1000 LP damage.
"And another copy of Option A. Hiryu's Agility may run out this turn, but I will play both copies, granting both of my units a shield...practically guaranteeing they will survive until my next turn! And then I'll show you...my trump card!"
While this is a major play for Reyna, there is one thing she missed. She could've simply saved Option C for later, attacking once to destroy the Master and again on Kaiba's LP directly. Then again, who knows how that might have changed the RNG to get two copies of Option A?

Hub Centralis
Charlian can feel the anxiety weighing on his heart lessen as he received the message, quickly jumping up from his bed to head to the bathroom, grab a towel, and wash his face while typing out a quick reply.
Great! let's meet at this park near my home, I'll send you the address.
I hope you live near hub centralis, because it'll be a long trek otherwise, to say the least
I'll be waiting near the entrance, cya there
After quickly finding and sending the address of the quaint little park to Amelias, Charlian just quickly ran to the park (for a small workout) and plopped down on a bench near the place that most people just enters from. The park doesn't really have a specific entrance, being a large open area where people can roam peacefully, but there is a small paved path weaving through it next to a large stone sigh that spells out the park's name, and the start of that is where Charlian can be found.
As he waited, Charlian can't help but speculate what has happened between them in the past, or rather what Amelias did in the past. She mentioned that older version being who she was, and while it's easy for him to just say that she's not that person anymore, it can still be very hard on her.

Kana Shiro and Mal heard, chirping. Whistling to the two are a series of blue birds landed on the bars, seemingly merry and oblivious. But Mal would be the first to notice that in one of the bird's bills was a small gold leaf trimmed talisman-
That he'd be able to recognize.
The eye faced Mal suddenely, and the birds all spoke in unison in that damn... Medicine Vendor's voice:
"Found you."
"Found you."
"Found you."
"Found you."
"Found you."
"Found you."
The Medicine Vendor now knowing where Mal was, sped down the hallway, his Geta's now clanking against the hard floor as he made his way for the imprisoned man.
Da Poacher
The Stained Poacher focusing on the Oldblood had forgotten the other reptilian present. Soon he was now finding himself fighting back to back as Veyolkos would snap his bill at the man, keeping their attention split. They couldn't make a fatal blow if they were worried either about a row of obsidian blades cutting them in twain, or a Laitivern's jaws making purée out of their head.

This was... easier than Raex expected, but the templar wouldn't question his good fortune in finding Adam. Looking at Adam was like staring into a mirror of sorts, if not for him being an elf, Raex may have initially thought he was speaking to some alternate version of himself.
A future version, maybe?
"I appreciate your upfront agreement, however, I would be foolish not to test your capabilities. I will not lead a good man such as yourself to his death! Come, show me what you are capable of!"
Stepping away from Adam and drawing his greatsword, Raex flourishes the steel weapon and levels the blade at the elf.
Reyna VS Kaiba
Blue-Eyes Jet Dragon is destroyed by the effect of the Spell Card, while Master with Eyes of Blue's defense drops to a pitiful amount. And then again by Hiryu's effect.
Kaiba's LP are hit directly by the first attack that follows, with Master with Eyes of Blue being destroyed immediately after.
Kaiba hums for a moment. His expression is as stoic as always, so it's not really clear what he thinks of this development. But he isn't nervous, meaning he still has a plan in mind.
"... I draw!", he says, drawing as he says. He narrows his eyes a bit.
"... I end my turn."
Whoa, did his hand brick? His field is completely empty right now!
"I almost have all the cards I need. Her cards so far have been weak in offense but powerful in effects. The chances of me losing the rest of my Life Points this turn should be less than 1%. As long as I can buy enough time, I will win this.", he thinks to himself.

Reyna takes a deep breath as she draws her next card.
"I really, really didn't think I'd make it to this... I attack your Life Points with Hiryu one last time, just to get a final Option...and I get a copy of Option C!"
She adds the card to her hand.
"NOW!"
Reyna removes her Hiryu and Genprey cards from the Duel Disk, the latter dissolving into nothing since it was conjured by an Explore effect.
"I tribute Hiryu and Genprey to summon my highest-level unit: the leader of the Research Commission! They call him a Rajang in human form. I've seen him and a Rajang in the same room, and I can believe it! The one, the only...THE ADMIRAL!"
As she plays the level 9 card, the man appears in the field, flexing his muscles and shouting boastfully.
"He may have a paltry 400 ATK points, but his effect coupled with a whopping six thousand DEF allows him to wear down any foe in a war of attrition! Even in Attack Position, any attack against him is compared to his DEF instead of his ATK! Unlike a normal unit, a failed attack on him won't destroy his attacker or damage your Life Points, but every time he survives battle, you must place a debuff of 700 points to both stats of one of your own monsters...and it stacks!"

Then, having entered this stance, he leans forward and stab forward, sending a pressure of air as an opener! It'll do "blunt" damage if it hit, but the intent is clear - to surprise Raex!

Kaiba takes another 1000 damage to his Life Points.
And then Reyna's ace monster is summoned to the field.
"Whoa! It's not every day you get to see a monster with SUCH a high defense!", Mokuba commentates. "Is there anything in Seto's deck that can attack over that?"
Kaiba scrutinizes the Admiral for a moment.
"I remember you showing me that card. Its defense is half that of what you could've made it if you had converted it 1-to-1. I'll admit, it's imposing."
He grins.
"Even so, it will soon fall before the might of my dragons all the same. I draw!"
Another card is drawn.

He shows Blue-Eyes White Dragon, prompting the other dragon to appear on the field.
"I then summon Priestess with Eyes of Blue

The Tuner appears on the field.
"I now Synchro Summon my dragon and my priestess in order to summon Azure Eyes Silver Dragon
◊ in Defense Position!"
The two monsters disappear from the field as Azure Eyes Silver Dragon takes their place. Mokuba is once again confused. Why didn't Seto use the Alternative White Dragon's effect to destroy a card on the field first? It could've destroyed the Admiral.
"With Azure-Eyes on the field, you can't target dragons with effects until the end of my next turn.", he says. "You won't be able to reduce the stats of this monster. But I'm not done just yet!"
He plays two Spell Cards.
"I activate two Cards of Consonance
◊, sending the two Tuners in my hand to the Graveyard in order to draw two cards for each of them, bringing my hand back up to four."
He discards his Tuners and draws four cards.
"One of those Tuners was a White Stone of Ancients
◊. Normally this allows me to Special Summon a Blue-Eyes White Dragon from my deck, but since my last remaining one is already in my hand, I can't do that. Instead I'll use its second effect, banishing it from my Graveyard to return a Blue-Eyes monster from my Graveyard to my hand."
The card is added back to his hand.
"Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon will ensure my Life Points will be spared for at least another turn. And with the current cards in my hand, I can tell you this."
His grin widens.
"In one turn, your ace monster will perish. And in two turns from now, this Duel will be over! Make your next move, I end my turn."

Hub Centralis
The young man looked at the Phoenix Gundam in awe as it landed near a building. Seeing a Mobile Suit from the perspective of another Suit is one thing, but watching it fly through the air, transform, and land in its humanoid form as a human is another. It has a broad silhouette, but its body and wings are sleek and doesn't have a lot of hard angles, which is fairly uncommon for Mobile Suits.
No, I can admire the Phoenix later, right now, I gotta talk to a friend. With that said, he waved at Amelias and patted the empty spot on the bench. "Hey, you're here. Come on, sit." His voice is a touch softer than usual and a lot more casual, having less tension than he did during missions they go on. "How've you been lately?" The yound man started off with a bit of a general question in hopes of helping her open up. Reaching into the heart of the issue so soon would be too intrusive, and wasting too much time on small talk would make the mood awkward.

Adam's plan works to perfection, astonishing Raex with a sudden blast of pointed air that rang against his chestplate, sending the templar skidding backward with a smile on his face. Twirling his blade, Raex rushed forward, striking at Gram and attempting to force Adam into a bladelock as a contest of sheer strength between the two!
"Impressive strike, but I must test your strength before dexterity!"
Assuming Raex's gambit paid off, he pushed hard against Adam, sundering the earth beneath their feet and sending cascading cracks for a stretch beyond their collective vision. Bubbling magma began to rise from the earth, sweat beading from Raex's face, but the templar was not in the least tired.
And neither was Adam.
The Sentinel of Stone
"Gah-"
The earth suddenly shaking below him, Somu is thrown off balance- and loses concentration on his spell, the gathered essence sparking out randomly before dying out.
"Oh, come on!"
Realizing now that he probably isn't going to get a good chance to put his spell together right now, he shifts tactics.
"Let's see how it likes this!"
Raising his hand skyward, he releases a burst of ice and crystal energy from his hand, which combines together over the Gravios to form jagged ice spikes that rain down onto the Stained beast's body and wings and explode into lingering patches of ice on impact.

gives a daring laugh! A test of strength?! Haha, let us see if your sword is as mighty as it looks! And as Gram slams against Raex's sword, Adam's eyes widen in impressed awe. For indeed, as sparks fly off both blades, neither give up. And the group around them, in fact, is the one to suffer the stress of the battle as their flesh and bones and sinew prove tougher than any volcanic rock in existence.
Geysers of lava rise aroud them as cracks spread from the clashing ground, with hills being split in halves as daring cracks creep up volcanoes, readying themselves to dismembowel them clean. Even the sky seem to shudder and suffer from the tremendous force exerted way below!
What awesome strength! Never before have I been so thoroughly challenged! Adam can't help but compliment, seeing more and more sparks jutting out of the blade.

The Devil Gundam isn't about to sandbag and lets out a mechanical roar as it flies up and sends out the Four Heavenly King Bits all after Domon! First comes Grand Gundam's bit, attempting to ram him and stab him with its electrified horns! Second the Bit corresponding to Heaven's Sword Gundam, attempting to blast him with a burst of flame like the original. Third is the Walter Gundam's Bit which simply aims its tentacle limbs and tries to hit him with its beam cannons.
Last is the Master Gundam Bit, which crosses its arms arrogantly before swooping in; its hand glowing with the all too familiar energy of his own Master's technique. The Darkness Finger!
He at least won't have to worry about the Death Army and Death Beast, the former taking a hit and losing its arm thanks to Mal's Zaku and both now gunning for it! The Beast still has its machine rifle and begins taking aim while the disarmed Death Army charges into simply shoulder charge with its other arm.
Hiling at least dashes to the side to begin flanking the Death Beast, but won't make it in time to slap its shit before it gets a shot off.

"I've been better." she admits, fidgeting with her hands. "On one hand it feels... cathartic to literally confront my past mistakes but on the other... being reminded of them is not very pleasant."
Judging by her expression she seems to be downplaying it.
"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."Lost Woods
Shadow blinks, and, after another moment, facepalms.
”Yeah, of course that makes sense. I let my frustration get the better of my rational thought, but, in my defense, I was just telling Kii-Saa-Raa-“
He raises a finger, still facepalming.
”-they told me they accept the names, by the way, so we’re good on that front-“
He looks back up, brushing himself off.
”-that I’ve had a heck of a stressful time lately, and I specifically tracked them down because I wanted to meet up with an old friend, or three in this case, and figured I’d want to check in on them since I had that feeling they’d have revived by now. I was actually going to try to find you next if you hadn’t been just around the corner already. Funny how things work out. Anyway, can’t really fault me for being a little tense when I’ve been balancing the weight of the entire omniverse on my shoulders, but I shouldn’t have flown off the handle.”
He glances up to Kii-Saa-Raa, and nods.
”Y’know, you have a point. They are the roughest, toughest creatures in your world, and even Zorc, himself a deity, was afraid of them. He practically shook in his nonexistent boots when I alluded to the Empress of Light, a Fey Goddess from another world known as Terraria, during our battle, likely figuring I was referring to Horakhty instead. Comparing the two Goddesses, they may both have power over Light, but they couldn’t be more different in moral fiber. The latter’s certainly a lot more merciful and well-meaning than the former, as the Empress was a cold, imperious individual who wished to bring all of Terraria under her Hallowed dominion. But I digress…I’ll take your word as experts on the topic of Monsters, being Monsters yourselves.”
He then glances back at Noah, and, after another Beat, sighs dramatically, drooping in an exaggerated manner for comedic effect.
”You’re right…for once. I wasn’t thinking clearly. I can talk to the Winged Dragon, and I even did so after rescuing them, but we didn’t exactly hold much of an extended chat before they went back home. In fact, it was a bit of a one-sided conversation on my part. In my defense, again, I’m an omniversal guardian. It’s easy for me to space out on certain details when I’ve got to keep tabs on the entirety of observable reality.”
He straightens up, and tilts his head.
”Summoning Obelisk without the card, huh? Pretty similar to a good, old-fashioned summoning ritual from other worlds…I’d love to see that! Knowing your brother, he probably said something clever about Gods, didn’t he?”
He then suddenly pauses, sighing, and turns back to Kii-Saa-Raa, giving them a solemn look.
”Eh…sorry, just thought of one of the things I originally came here to ask you. But before I begin, would you be averse to me patching the Kaiba brothers into our telepathic link so they can hear you?”
He frowns, clasping his hands together.
”…now, Kii, Saa, Raa…? I’m sorry if this brings back bad memories, but…what do you remember about the battle against Zorc? You guys really put your all into it and you were a major help. I don’t think we would’ve been nearly as successful as we were in halting his rampage if you hadn’t given your lives for Kaiba’s summon. Thanks to the boost it gave us, we were able to make comparatively short work of him before he could reach an area of the Arena that hadn’t been evacuated, so we were able to prevent him from taking more innocent lives. I just want to know…”
He takes on a sympathetic expression, wrapping his wings close to himself like a cloak…rendering his own cloak rather redundant, but that’s beside the point.
”…it didn’t hurt too much, did it? When you…y’know? Passed on? And do you think you could tell us about what it was like when you revived? Again, sorry if you feel I’m pressuring you too much, I just really respect the three of you and wanted to check in on your wellbeing, because I see you as friends of mine and wanted to make sure you’re in good health.”

"Life isn't a fairytale. There isn't always a 'Happily Ever After' waiting for you at the end of the road." ~ Isengrim Heath-Stalker

Judicial Malpractice
Maul is a very confident man. He would not have been able to do half of what he did if he wasn't 100% sure that his wits, his skills and his strength could not carry him through danger. He would think nothing of these creatures - or even of the metallic golem that Maul daftly avoided by way of running and jumping into the hole he'd created inside the prison, metallic legs almost whining beneath his weight as he flung himself upwards.
Why, in his heyday, he'd charged Dark Sidious himself. Perhaps the most powerful Dark Side user the galaxy had ever seen.
Yet he wanted nothing to do with these things rampaging in the prison. Some would call it cowardice but the truth was that these zombies were such a violent rejection of life as to make all things capable of breathing and living automatically afraid and viscerally hateful towards them. As such, Maul, instead of risking infection, opted for a more pragmatic solution.
Raising his left hand, the Zabrak concentrated the Force around a portion of the ceiling in front of him and tried to bring his hand down, hoping to have a good chunk of it come down to block the path. He prepared himself for this damage to the building to have consequences, but he also would rather deal with the wrath of architecture than whatever was going on outside. And he ran deeper into the prison, using the shared bond with the Medicine Vendor to try to find him.
And as for his suit, it tried to shoot at the Devil Gundam Jr, falling to one knee hard enough to crack the ground, raising its rifle before trying to go for a full-powered beam shot to the head of it.
Elsewhere, the Zaku raised its Death Army trooper as a shield, tempering the damage, but its own brutality bit it back in the metal ass as some of those heavy-ordonance caliber still pierced through the robot shield and hit the Zaku hard, sending it toppling over with ground-shaking force, marking a deep gauge into the grass as the giant struggle to raise itself up.
As for Mal, he looks pensive. He'd promised Bone not to...
... Well, no, he'd promised Bone he'd show Ez a good example, to her amusement. But that wasn't enough. The girl was right. He needed to reconcile with his past self if he wanted to win. That one guy could canalize his anger, his hatred, his loathing of everything better than he had. Why, he'd survived Ryloth, after all. And he'd need his best, not the mess he showcased at the town, if he wanted to save Ez.
His desire to be free, his yearning for the stars, his wanting to be united with his promised beloved. He needed to grab those feelings back and let them be put into protecting Ez, his daughter, to give his word meaning again. And after... Well, maybe feeding the fire would put it out?
... You're right. I felt like my life had only made sense when I was... angry. And hungry for something. Or when Bone and Ez were around. But still, it was so terribly easy for him to lose these. And by comparison, it was so much easier to hunger for something immaterial. Something you could never lose, because you could never gain it.
But thinking that way, would he still care for Ez, if he did as that woman said and acted selfishly, fighting for revenge and because deep down, he liked the feeling of proving superiority over someone else?
... What's your name? I'm Mal Zanzeux.
