Mordekaiser
"Did you not listen?"
Mordekaiser asked rhetorically, a chiding tone in his voice accompanied by another low chuckle as the Iron Revenant clenched his vacant fist. The swirling ocean of souls surrounding them squeal louder as an uncountable number are mutilated, transforming into jagged constructions of sharp steel that rush from the fog toward Nazo from behind.
One even strikes Mordekaiser, but he's unaffected, stalking forward at the hedgehog with an unstoppable march.
"I would not stain my world with your soulless corpse, abomination, but I will keep you here until those constrained by lesser limits recover."
Mordekaiser raised Nightfall high, slamming the gargantuan weapon where he predicts Nazo will be, an explosive expulsion of Shadow Isles Magic accompanying the slam, ideally dazing the hedgehog for whatever Marxkirby had planned.
Shortpost for the day
Lost Forest
Shadow loosens the bandana that obscures his mouth, revealing his full face, and the warm, reminiscent grin that’s now fully spread across its minimalistic features. He takes a careful step toward the Ultimate Dragon, clearly excited, yet sure to avoid making any sudden moves that could alarm the creature.
”Hey, there, old friend. I see you remember me. I had a feeling you’d be out here somewhere…I simply cannot tell you how refreshing it is to have to finally look up to talk to someone again! A rare occasion for someone of my stature, I assure you.”
He beams up at the Dragon’s three heads, holding his arms out in an inviting gesture.
”Why, if I were just six feet taller, and a little less in control of my emotions than I currently am, I’da’ probably pulled you into a hug by now, heheh… Think you could meet me in the middle, though? I’d definitely appreciate that, ‘cause, well…It’s been a bit of a tough time for me, lately, and I’m really, truly happy to see a familiar face or three.”

Upon seeing the huge moth carrying the very same bone she saw back at the ruins, Sofía let out a loud gasp.

Cafe, Hub Centralis
Once again, the mentalist reached out to the ship's hull with a trembling hand and caressed it with a smile on her face as she listened to Artemis' explanation of how the ship grows with every experience. It gave her a good idea what kind of person Artemis is like, as well as reminding her of the person she entered the Arena to find. An endless soul... that manifested a realm that grows indefinitely... Magnificent." The woman muttered as she followed Artemis into the ship.
The woman marveled at the decorations, not for their appearances but for the amount of power they contain. She can't perceive any light from inanimate objects because they're not alive, but this is an exception as this whole collection is now a part of Artemis' EGO. Though, what really captured her attention is fact that the ship itself seems to have a spatial distortion inside it, housing a ordinary-looking room that, by all means, can't fit into a ship of this size.
As much as she wants to just plop down on the couch out of habit, Thessaly refrained from doing so until her host does so first, opting to observe the nature of this place. It's a mix of old and new, resulting in a very chaotic feeling that she can't help but take a moment to enjoy with her eyes closed. It sent a strange signal into her brain, causing a tingling sensation to spread throughout her body that doesn't feel entirely unpleasant, just... unfamiliar.
Actually, that's not quite the right word. The individual elements are familiar, but the mish mash isn't.
"I'm very glad to see that you're moving towards the future, Artemis, though... it's also immensely helpful for one to occasionally visit the past. That's true for even those who can hop through time." The woman's eyes fluttered open as she flashed Artemis a smile, not unlike how a wise teacher would give advice to a student. "That's especially true for you, as your past- your experiences- are attested by these trinkets, allowing you to do a variety of things with them."
"Review them, organize them, re-experience them... What I wouldn't give to have something so readily accessible..." Thessaly gently ran a hand over some of the books, tapes, and games as she strolled around the room at a leisurely pace as she observed them more closely, speaking somewhat breathily as she noted the wide variety of genres and quality of the medias Artemis collected. "You don't even need to dust all of this." For the first time in their conversation, her voice showed a hint of humor.
Eventually, she would wander to the sleek, metallic door that stood out. Though, out of courtesy and caution, the mentalist didn't try to open it on her own. Instead, she simply ran a hand over it and looked at her host in a surprisingly non-expectant manner. "I wonder if this door holds anything interesting behind it."
Pokey the Horse and Gumby - Vs. Nazo
After watching Mordekaiser disappear with Nazo, Gumby just sighs, "I'm glad you're alive, Pokey."
While getting patched up by Gumby, Pokey agrees, "You can say that again, pal."
Both clay figures quickly dart away from the rifts appearing everywhere.

"No problem."
Emma opens and closes the drawer a couple of times until a pack of ground coffee appears — it took her a bit before she noticed how it worked.
She just puts some of the grounds straight into the cup and adds in a sugar packet.
Like Filia, she seems unbothered by the heat and only waited because the coffee hasn't mixed completely. Yet, the way Filia mixed her tea was a head turner. She wonders if it's a Filia thing or a thing her kind does.
"Different places make it differently. You can add things to change the taste around but at the end of the day even a few beans makes it a coffee." She adds.

realStained, Azy
Some Time Prior to that Fateful Cairo Night…
It’d been a long night. She swayed in the saddle, half-asleep, as Deluge took up the convoy’s rear. The Namielle slithered behind the group, moving lethargically so as not to dehydrate himself before any potential battle—Gog forbid—ever even broke out, leaving behind a trail of slime.
Patrolling the caravan’s left wing, the alert Khars’Li
made up for his war-sister’s lack of attention, alert and sniffing feverishly at the air for any threat. By the time he picked up on the enemy’s scent, burning gasses masked with earthy mixtures, it was too late: two were lost instantly in the ambush. Luin shuddered awake on the Namielle’s back. "Gwuh—?!"
"Move!" The Scar-Veteran roared, violently thrashing his arm in a gesture for the Guildsmen to find cover while he slid his blade to his back and dropped down onto arms and legs both, breaking out into a frenzied dash at the Gravios. Upon reaching the gargantuan, armored Flying Wyvern, he’d reach for the macuahuitl’s grip and swing it across the monster’s ankles in a quick, smooth motion.
Further back was Luin, snapped into urgency. From its sheath on the saddle she drew Landslide, hefting the Pupitar-hammer onto her shoulder. Deluge shrieked a hissy roar, spreading ray-like wings before folding them again and padding towards the—
Nick?! But her eyes moved from him to the Gravios just as they unblurred, and though his armor was different, the malice the man atop the opposite monster exuded was plain as day to recognize. Him! The talkpiece of their great foe, the bridge through which it’d communicated to them once already. "You must be getting pretty desperate, Oltura!"
——
Azy, with eyes wide and heart drumming, lunged to the side in an effort to avoid the incoming rolly polly of doom. Yet it proved too little; the beast deftly adjusted its course and wheeled back around just to defy Azy’s dodge, crashing into him and throwing him to the desert sands as the Nightmare unfurled, bouncing off the dune and coming down on both legs with a shrill warble. Before it had the chance to continue its reign of terror upon the group though, Verdant called upon the jungle’s fruits, sprouted them forth in the midst of a wasteland. The vines jailed the Nightmare where it stood. While their foe thrashed to free itself, seeds bursting like firecrackers against its hide, Azy was staggering back to his feet.
He knew a blessing when he felt one, and right now, Glint was making him feel quite blessed. The youth smirked and nodded his companion’s way. Blade brandished, the baku thought giddily: showtime! Sand at his feet rose in a plume, Azy erupting from it at the creature. His first strike opened a wide gash along the Nightmare’s side from which a very visible dark fog—its Anima—spilled out. His second further shortened its tail, the tip already severed earlier in the battle (if you guys recall), but the Nightmare didn’t allow a third: a violent swing broke itself loose of Verdant’s trap and crashed its head into the quickly approaching Azy, throwing the young man head over heels above the beast.
But as he wildly somersaulted on a steep parabola, reached its top and began a breakneck fast return journey, the baku reached for the pendant at his neck. He held it out and shouted a phrase in some unknown language. A strange thing happened then. The pearly gem within flashed brightly, and from the beast below rose its Anima towards the locket, the aura of menace forcibly detached and no longer shielding the beast for only a split second. It’d need to be enough. "Now!!"
With great power…you know the rest.Lourent
Glint rushed in, rapier brandishing as his porcelain joints creaked. He spun like a cyclone, blade our ad he crashed into the nightmare ad q whirlwind of star light and comet metal, crashing against the monster under the Baku's command. Sparks flew out from the impact as Glunt was basically trying to pin the creature in place through his attack.
AwawaThe Sentinel of Stone
Khars’Li would find the monster's hide to be pretty tough, even on Gravios standards, as he essentially only scratched the paint on its ankles. It roared and he could see the fire/poison gas pores begin leaking out black fluid, his only warning before a full deluge exploded out! If he was FOOLISH and stayed up close he'd find the black ooze to be rather caustic, not a good thing to stay in.
The Poacher meanwhile noticed Veyolkos at the last minute, raising the shield of a Rathian sword and shield to block the talon strike. The momentum still carried him off his mount and he rolled as he touched down, swiftly getting back on his feet.
"My master need not be troubled by the presence of vermin like you." the Stained Poacher replied to Luin, though (likely to her surprise) with a voice that sounded neither like his original one nor the Dragon's own.
Nick meanwhile got no verbal reply save for the Gravios breathing in and spitting out a fireball at his stupid face.
"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."Lost Forest
Despite still being a wild creature, the Ultimate Dragon understands the gesture, lowering its heads further to meet Shadow's hands.
Though as this happens its six eyes move to look behind Shadow, who should be able to sense presences entering the forest. Three, to be exact.
One of which he may instinctively remember.
Nazo Unleashed
Nazo being temporarily gone gives Sinterklaas the time he needs to get back on his feet. To save Slecht Weer Vandaag, he brings out his bag and lays it over the horse.
Within moments, the horse suddenly vanishes, the bag now falling on empty ground, after which the elderly man picks it back up again.
"Wees veilig, mijn goede vriend. Rust en genees." (Be safe, my good friend. Rest and heal.)
Rifts in spacetime start to open all around. Sinterklaas readies himself.
Hub Centralis, Eve's hospital
"Alright, this should be the place.", Hero
◊ says as he, Kel
◊, Aubrey
◊ and Basil
◊ look up at the hospital. Hero turns to the others.
"Alright, keep in mind that this is a hospital. So Kel, Aubrey, I'm expecting you not to go into any heated arguments."
"Well obviously.", Aubrey huffs.
"I've been to a hospital before, Hero, I know how to behave.", Kel says.
"We've... all been.", Basil hesitantly says to Kel's first point. The four of them go quiet for a moment.
"... Hero. Are you gonna be alright?", Basil then asks.
"Huh?"
"Yeah, last time you saw Sunny was when he...", Aubrey starts, but she can't quite finish it. Hero closes his eyes and takes a deep breath.
"I... needed time."
Kel puts his hand on his older brother's shoulder, looking worried.
"If you wanna wait outside-"
"No. No, I..."
Another deep breath.
"This has to happen at some point. And I'm done running away from all of this. Despite what happened I don't want to just pretend we were never friends. I need to see him myself."
Kel smiles a little.
"If you feel too much pressure, let me know, alright?"
Hero smiles a little now too, opening his eyes again. When did Kel become so reliable?
Aubrey puts her spiked bat in a bag that she throws over her shoulder. No way is she going to walk into a hospital with that thing on display, and she's not gonna leave it outside either, someone might steal it.
They all mentally prepare themselves before going through the entrance.

In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.Eve's Hospital
Is always ready for people to walk into its halls. Although there are smaller pains and such, Eve wants people to know she isn't prioritizing their pain over another. So she usually spawn a copy as soon as she can - but visitors, due to not having any urgency of their own usually, simply need to wait by a queue. A rather small one though, due to the nature of Eve's healing making prolonged stays moreso a choice on their part than anything else.
As such, the group will need a little time to wait before they move up to a desk occupied by a clone of Eve, who's wearing a hat with "STAFF MEMBER" on it in case people get confused by all the other Eves running around.
Hello! How will I help you?
Nautolan picture belongs to Bonesmarinated on twitterThey quickly notice that the visible staff members... all kinda look the same? But they choose not to question it for now. Even from what little they'd seen, this place felt weird. Like some kind of fantasy.
It doesn't take them long to find the queue, and while Kel quickly gets impatient as they wait (and Aubrey gets annoyed by his impatience), neither of them acts out. Eventually they make it to the front of the row.
And of course, with Hero being the oldest, most polite and the most charming of the group, the others let him talk once they make it to Eve.
"Pardon me, are there any patients here registered under the name 'Sunny'?"
He doesn't use Sunny's last name just in case this wasn't the right place.
In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.Eve's hospital
The Eve clone check in on her papers. In truth, she's checking in with her Hive Mind but that gives a more professional look. For shame though. Paper is such a waste! Like a slaughter of trees.
Why yes I do! I could take you to his room quickly or guide you to it depending on your wants. But I can assure you he's been recovering very well!
Nautolan picture belongs to Bonesmarinated on twitterThe four all look incredibly relieved. Given that that lady had found Sunny hurt in the woods, they were all dreading that he'd be in an awful state.
"We'd be incredibly grateful if you brought us to him, miss.", Hero says.

The Eve Clone nods and join her hands together, her hands glowing as a blue circle appears around the group. It's soft and warm, as if to incite them to trust in it.
Alright, stay still for a second, if you please! And in that exact timespan, the group is teleported in front of the room with Sunny in it, without the clone - if anything happens, she'll know anyway.
Nautolan picture belongs to Bonesmarinated on twitterWell, that, uh... catches them off guard.
"What the fu-heck!?", Aubrey quickly corrects herself. They're in a hospital, after all.
But the trusting vibes that the circle gives quickly makes them calm down again.
Until they get startled by being warped.

"-which is why they scrapped that attraction, at least from what I heard back in the day.", Tony Becker
◊ says as he sits on a bed. Sunny
◊ is sitting on the other. Neither of them are injured anymore at this point, but Sunny had been helping out in the hospital in exchange for being allowed to stay and sleep here (as he had nowhere else to go).
As for Tony, with him having been Sunny's hospital roommate after the whole Pittrap thing, he'd formed somewhat of a friendship with the quiet, imaginative boy. Sunny was basically his opposite in everything but curiosity, in which they were equally matched. Whereas Sunny preferred fantasy, Tony was a boy of realism. While Tony didn't mind some silence, he would crave interaction much faster than Sunny did.
Sunny, however, was also a good listener, and he seemed to have somewhat of an interest in spooky tales, so oftentimes when Tony dropped by to visit he'd regale Sunny with all the various rumors of Fazbear Entertainment's past.
Like the rumors of how children had gone missing, or of how someone got baked into a pizza, or how it was said that there were Fazbear-themed cryptids stalking the town at some point. And even some rumors about the Pizzaplex, despite the topic of that place being... less than pleasant to Tony.
At least Sunny'd made it clear that he didn't have to tell him anything he was uncomfortable with. Tony had the strange feeling that Sunny understood this on a personal level.
Anyhow, Tony practically falls off of the bed when suddenly Hero, Kel, Aubrey and Basil are warped into the room out of nowhere. Sunny (who was facing the other way from them) immediately goes over to Tony to check up on him, giving the four a moment to come to grips with what happened.
And then they see him.
"S-Sunny?", Kel asks. Upon hearing that all-too-familiar voice Sunny freezes for a moment, then turns to look, his eyes wider than usual. As Tony gets back up, he notices his expression and keeps silent. Sunny usually tended to look pretty emotionless, so for him to have such an expression right now means this has to be important.

In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.Eve's hospital
An Eve is also sitting in the room. She's been appreciating Sunny's help and keeping an eye on him to guide him if he ever need any question answered, finding it to be a better way of doing things than teleporting next to him.
Frankly, I think that you'd do well staying away from eating pizzas. She comments.
Nautolan picture belongs to Bonesmarinated on twitterEve's help had been greatly appreciated by Sunny, especially considering he kept hitting his head on stuff all the time here since...
Y'know...
His eye. So he has much less depth perception now.
Sunny, Kel, Aubrey, Basil and Hero all stare in silence for a bit, as if all of them want to say something but none of them know what to say.
Tony glances around for a moment.
"So, uh... it was fun catching up with you, but I gotta get going again.", Tony says to Sunny, briefly getting his attention. It's clear that he read the room and is leaving them to their personal matters.
Sunny nods in response, and Tony leaves the room, giving a quick 'hi' to the others before doing so. The four watch him leave the room, then turn back to Sunny.
"... h... how did you get here?", Sunny asks. The response to this is not a verbal one though, as Aubrey suddenly lunges forward to grab him into a hug, startling him again.
"Seriously!? You disappear for weeks on end and we hear you were hurt enough to go to the hospital and that's the first thing you say to us!?"
"U-uh..."
"W-we were really, REALLY worried!", Basil says, tearing up a little.
"Your mom called us all in a panic asking if maybe you'd come back to Faraway Town in secret! Everyone thought you'd run away! And then that portal thing appeared in your room while we were looking for anything that could help explain what happened to you!", Kel says.
Hero is still silent for a bit.
"You're... you're okay though, right?", he asks. Sunny looks at him, looking nervous for a moment, then nods.
"They took good care of me here.", he says. Eve will probably like hearing that.
"I don't have money. So I work here now, and they let me stay."
Kel pauses, then chuckles a little, though still wipes away a previously-forming tear. Everyone's getting emotional right now.
"W-why am I not surprised?", he says, smiling again. "You really got a knack for doing side jobs here too, huh?"
"I-it's good to know that you're alright enough for stuff like that now. ... uh... h-how is...", Basil nervously asks.
"My eye doesn't hurt anymore.", Sunny says.
"R-really? How?"
Sunny glances at Eve with a slight smile. Eve had probably watched him enough that even a small smile was a genuine and big gesture from this boy.
Aubrey lets go of him, wiping away some tears of her own.
"I'm so happy that you're alright.", she says, surprising Sunny, to which she looks unamused.
"What? Did you think I'd be happy you got hurt!?"
"N-no!", Sunny quickly says. "It's just... last time..."
"That was then and this is now! We've all had time to think. Besides, I was already considering joining that little group chat you made with Kel and Basil before hearing that you disappeared. I... I think I'm ready to give rebuilding our friendship a start again too."
"..."
Hero now looks at Eve.
"Thank you so very much for taking care of Sunny. Does... does he have a hospital bill? How much does he owe you? I can probably pay for it... hopefully."
In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.Eve's hospital
Eve raises her hands and shake her head left and right. I don't need money. Scenes like this are all the "repayment" I need. She says, with a warm smile.
... But I must say, one last time, that it'd perhaps be good for you to have your eye back, Sunny.
Nautolan picture belongs to Bonesmarinated on twitter"O-oh! That's... incredibly generous of you, miss. Thank you.", Hero says, perplexed.
Then they all hear about the eye and pause.
"Wait, Sunny. They can actually get you your eye back here!?", Kel asks. Sunny nods.
"And you said no!?"
Sunny nods again.
"B-but why? I-if you can have your eye fixed why wouldn't-", Basil says. Sunny speaks up again.
"I don't want to forget again."
That has everyone silent. Basil had been the first one to reach back out to Sunny after the latter had moved. And Sunny had told him what his mental state had been those past four years. Eventually Basil (with Sunny's permission) had told the others about that too. That the trauma had made Sunny forget what happened that day.
"... even so...", Hero says.
"I can live with this.", Sunny says. His tone of voice is the same, but his friends know him well enough to know he's made up his mind.
".. maybe... if Sunny changes his mind one day we can come back here. Would that be okay?", Kel asks Eve. For all they know, the offer would cease once Sunny leaves the hospital.
In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.Eve's hospital
Eve puts an hand on her chest and leans forward. I am never one to recline an offer. Should you ever change your mind, well... I built this place to stand out. She says, giving a little laugh. She didn't get why he didn't succumb to her offer after her friends said so, but, ah, what could she do?
This world limited her convincing abilities tremendously.

"A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to."Sombra plants his feet in preparation for battle. When he becomes aware of the Spirit Battle conditions in play, it leaves him in shock. If she's got these conditions, it implies that... she's a Puppet Fighter..! That's not great news... although the mention of a Final Smash gives him an idea...
"Konngara!"
He summons the Smash Ball Spirit he had received from Master Hand
and sends it to Konngara, who retrieves and absorbs it, gaining a similar power-up to Sectonia's, albeit less extreme.
"You are wrong! This light is not yours to wield! It is you, in your fixation, that are becoming its weapon! You cannot-" while he tries to reason with Sectonia, the lightning rakes across him, and he screams.
Despite Sombra's heroism, despite being purged of darkness and wielding light, despite the fact he used Galeem's Spirit for a time... He is still a dark-colored being with a name that means 'shadow'. And for the combined intolerance of Sectonia and Galeem, that seems to be enough to count him as a creature of darkness. Not to mention, the fact that he was among the ones who brought Galeem's end in the first place probably means its judgment is hardly impartial.
Unfortunately, for someone like Sombra, who already suffers from insecurity over the past atrocities he's committed, this kind of condemnation still hurts. "So... despite everything... it's really not enough, huh..? Maybe... she was right sending me here..."
Konngara, seeing this, gives the puppet Sectonia a hollow grin. "Really? This is who you deem to be a force of darkness? Of all people? Wow... it's... almost impressive. You... are an even worse judge than myself!"
With a mirthless laughter, she begins weaving between the lightning streams to get under Sectonia, then leaps and repeatedly slashes upward at her with Morpho Knight's sword.
