THE CAIRO TRAGEDY
PART I
Her teeth grit hard enough that they crack. Blood pours from her nose and mouth due to sheer effort. Her eyes are wide open in a way that make her fearful of blinking, least they accidentally punch a hole through her eyelids. Thorn was giving it her all to stay sane. To stay angry enough to be empowered by her rage without succumbing to the primitive fury that she'd shamefully displayed. She held her lightsaber so hard that she was afraid of shattering it, with none of the grace its curved design begged her to handle with.
But what else was she supposed to do, considering that she was up against something that would single-handedly justify the likes of Darth Traya? Whatever she was fighting was a god or a devil but it was The Force. And it rampaged as either would do, its head and body separate as they both slaughtered their opposition, further adding chaos to a battlefield she hadn't fully cleared of the madness.
She was a living tornado - Thorn would be t(h)orn to shreds trying to jump into that. Her body was not a target, but her head was. And perhaps that was a trap. Perhaps a god had no use for a head, as she proved so... vigorously sending them both independently of one another to slaughter more mortals. But Thorn meant to fight. And one of her targets was slightly less lethal than the rest by mere presence.
What she needed was allies - the fat armored one had regained skill to his blows, but she feared she could not get his attention. Or that he had merely regained his senses enough to fight competetently' while still indulging himself in mindless wrath. She needed another ally - and she found another, looking down to see a primitive with blonde hair and a glorious nose not so different from Thorn. One Thorn nods slightly at, as if acknowledging it.
But she also look down at her regenerating arms - and, if needed, the gears she had. If she had ODM, then Thorn points at her, words coming off her mouth like cockroaches as she has to fight her rage. You... primitive... Help me... get to that... She was almost afraid of using the Force to move faster - like trying to fight an ocean by tossing water at it. And she points her saber at it.
She'd get down her little hill and would put an arm around Annie, not caring if it hobbles the latter. THIS BEAST IS A GOD! FLY US TO IT AS QUICKLY AS YOUR PRIMITIVE MACHINERY CAN AND I SHALL SPLIT ITS HEAD IN HALF WITH MY SABER! LET US BOTH CARVE OUR NAMES INTO GALACTIC HISTORY WITH IT! She would actually put Annie's name in it (after learning it, which she hadn't bothered to recently) because Abeloth's presence made Thorn sick. Her bones felt weaker, as did her lungs, and her heart felt like it was desperately trying to claw its way out of her chest before being eaten by Abeloth.
But all that mattered was that her hands held steady - and should Annie succeed in getting them closer, Thorn scream as she grabs her saber two-handed, leaning back as far as she can before slamming her lightsaber towards Abeloth's forehead, attempting to plant her feet into her eyes (if she had any) before screaming as she try to split her in half, by the simplest way - sliding down her massive head.
PART II
Megumi felt little remorse as his machete sunk into Scorpion's throat. He was his enemy and had tried to kill him - and the other man seemed to acknowledge the same. Megumi thus spared him little thought as he rushed towards Jayce, using the lull in time offered to get his business in order. Luin was okay, so was Pucci, so seemed to be Advol, and the weird bat guy and Luin were getting the handle of Firefly, whom Megumi decided he'd help them handle later.
He went close to Jayce and pulled his hands together, forming the sign of...
Round Deer
Megumi's Round Deer stood much taller than a man, with a creepy bony mask for a head with one pair of slanted eyes on it and antlers that looked like bony hands reaching out. However, it exuded the opposite of Cursed Energy, the reverse of it really, which'd heal Jayce's wounds further. Also some of Megumi's, but less, meaning that Scorpion's marks were still on him as he unsummoned his deer.
Right in time for Megumi to feel dread, so much dread that he had immediately unsummoned his tame to protect it for danger.
Looking up, Megumi sees DIO, the vampyr, and realizes that they've been played by the mere Charisma DIO exuded. One all too similar to the King of Curses - beings of pure power and ancient wisdom mutilated into deep narcissism and a belief that strength justified their every actions. That single I instantly had Megumi on the defensive, fearful of the vampire's moves.
But not so fearful as not to lose his nerve.
Pucci would feel a growl near him, and would see shining claw close to his neck. He had not unsummoned Totality, and the bodyguard had turned on its former protector, seeing that DIO was apparently interested in Pucci. No matter what kind of ability DIO had, he'd need to be really fast, or to have some sort of crazy power, to save his apparent subordinate in time.
I don't like taking hostages. Get out of here. Megumi says to DIO, trying not to let his voice falter as he held his knife out, blood still dripping from the tip of it.

At the back of her mind, Taylen was afraid the Inquisitor would drop another zap of lightning while giving an excuse of "I don't believe you". But the gamble paid off, thank goodness.
She paused for a moment. Both to catch her breath, and to ensure the Inquisitor was sufficiently far away.
There were many tools on her person, but most had already been confiscated... apart from a slim lockpick. Tucked away in a secret pocket in her sleeve, it was designed to be accessible even when she's handcuffed. For once, she was glad her wrists were sore, from spasming against the metal tool - it meant hope.
Her fingers stretched towards her wrist, trying their best to grasp at the lockpick. So close, yet so far...
A little nudge... come on, just a bit more...
And finally, she managed to pull the lockpick out into her palm. She first worked on the cuff holding that very hand, fingertips twirling around the tool at a speed indicative of experience. After all, it was hardly her first time picking locks, one-handed or otherwise. Once that cuff was undone, she swiftly moved onto the one on her other hand, then her ankles. The instant she was free, she leapt off the table & made a beeline for the door.
No time to lose.

Charlian is unable to detect the contempt coming from the second ReZEL C, he is still able to recognize the curtness behind the Graze Commander's simple response. While he never expected them to cooperate as if they're comrades, the inflexibility of these soldiers still stung a little. "I'll go and clear out the Plumas. Razangriff Raven, moving in." is what he said before his red machine flew towards one of the many minions of Hashmal, intent on making his move before the mechanical angel can advance any further.
Super Robot Wars: Original Generations - Believe in Our Bonds
Razangriff Raven is a machine that boasts no fancy beam weapons, no special transformation features, and no special systems designed for psionic powers. True to its origin being that of a hover tank, it is an excellent blend of heavy firepower, tough armor, and decent mobility, with the last of them being enhanced by a flight pack mounted on its shoulders. It's not fancy, but it's just the right machine for a monster who can deflect beam attacks with its potent Nanolaminate Coating.
Raising its Heavy Linear Rifle, Razangriff Raven fired a quick barrage of penetrating slugs at Pluma 8
before bashing away whatever will remain with a swipe of the shield on its left hand. Then, with practiced ease of a veteran pilot, Charlian put the Linear Rifle away before swinging a giant cannon on its right side into place. Taking a deep breath to calm his beating heart, Charlian boosted the Razangriff Raven into a midair position and waited for just the right moment where the crosshair on his control screen aligned with Pluma 3 and 14 while the laser sight focused on the former. The young man then held down the trigger to fire an powerful piercing energy beam,
intending to destroy both Plumas at the same time.
The Compressed Charged Particle Cannon doesn't exactly fire the same beam as a Mobile Suit's beam weapon, but it may still have limited effectiveness against Hashmal's coating. That, plus the fact that it's one of Razangriff Raven's most powerful weapons, made Charlian decide that it's best to use it to clear out the Plumas quickly instead of saving it for later, where it will have limited effectiveness against the Mobile Armor.

These were the words on every monitor in the control room, flashing and flickering under emergency power. Popillion walked over to the nearest terminal, and starting tapping away at the touchscreen.
"A black hole? Well, if the warp-cells were online, the facility would neutralize it before it got out of control."
The CEO had the device, at least, no longer displaying those cryptic words, in only a few moments. It didn't seem like she was locked out of anything.
"...The moment I turn the defenses off, Ana is guaranteed to know where we are. Let's find out more- find out more about what we're dealing with first..."
She said this unsteadily, nearly muttering it.
The room was surprisingly small, bathed in an uncanny blue light by the flickering monitors.
A diagram appeared on Popillion's screen...
Reading the blueprints, the notes, the descriptions, horror dawned on Popillion's face. She covered her mouth with a hand, and took a step away.
"...How did I not know my facility had a weapon like this?"
If Croque should read it herself, she would quickly realize the purpose of the weapon.
It was not a bomb.
Or, rather, it was not just a bomb.
It was a targeted weapon. A device that could be used from the arena and only the arena.
It targeted a universe.
It nullified that universe's existence.
It multiplied the effect.
The name, defoliant, was a metaphor for its primary use case: Select a place along the proverbial "world tree", and the Eraser Defoliant would...
Snip off a branch.
Power and Aura
When Power punched the wall again, it did not do anything this time. Unless you count creating another dent in the wall and making a rather loud clang, in which case it was a mission accomplished.
Either way, Aura was more or less right: Power was wasting their time.
...
From a nearby hallway, there was the clang of Power's fist against metal.
The exact same sound, not echoed, but repeated exactly at it was.
Jerrod and Croque
The foreboding silence continued as the facility stretched on. No surprise that it was tough to navigate, the place was annoyingly enormous.
Still, the duo eventually came across a very large room. Seemingly some kind of storage bay, the enormous empty warehouse was... well, empty. Despite having space for all kinds of items, objects, or even vehicles, there was almost nothing.
Almost nothing. There was one thing, in the center of the room.
A single figure, standing perfectly straight.
Slowly, they turned.
Emerging into the light.
It was...
...
A man. An ordinary man with dark hair and a comb-over, wearing an ordinary uniform. He looked, quite frankly, scared out of his wits.
"Uh, you two aren't here to kill me, right?"
Yatta!"I can't see anything in that direction... but this weapon has never failed us before. If it's pointing that way, there's probably a good reason for that."
"Well, it's as good a direction as any, I reckon," Sombra says as he follows the formerly evil spirit. "I'll be glad to get out of this nightmare of a place as soon as we possibly can."
Mahke Etstop - Situation II
Still confused as hell, Mahke glances at DIO with an equal mix of awe and fear. Immediately, she quakes in her boots, afraid of what DIO might do to her if he desires. A true mark of a villain in Mahke's opinion.
Barely overcoming her phobia of the British vampire, Mahke simply stammers, "W-what... what are you?!"
Morph Moth and Commander Yammark - Falling Angel
Going further in to enemy territory, both Jestas assist their allies with the nearby Plumes. Yammark's Jesta pulls out grenades and chucks it at the drone she's staring down. At the same time, Morph Moth goes for her beam saber and attempts to impale the drone with it. Hopefully, this should be enough to put them down.
Morph Moth attacks Plume 12, while Commander Yammark attacks Plume 9.

Jerrod walked into the darkness at a leisurely pace, his firm and steady footsteps echoing throughout the hallway as he and Croque made their way to a very large room, a place that immediately prompted the man to slow down considerably. This may just be an assumption he's making based on his own experiences, but whenever he came across massive rooms like this, there's usually something dangerous waiting inside. There is no reason why any single room would be left so conspicuously empty otherwise.
The Controller slowed down even more as he noticed a single figure in the center of the room, until he saw who it is they've just encountered. When he noticed that this seems to be someone belonging to the military, he took a single step forward to get a closer look at his face, but that's all he did before stopping entirely and motioned for Croque to do the same. "Hey, let Popillion know that there's someone in a military uniform here, but don't make it sound like he's a survivor that needs to be rescued yet." is all he whispered to his mechanical companion before speaking to the man.
"That depends on who you are, sir." Jerrod purposefully kept his language vague to avoid giving away information and to keep the man under a certain level of pressure so he can get as much information out of this guy as possible. While this is the first person who isn't one of his allies he has seen in this facility, and his frightened disposition suggests that he's one of Ana's victims, that doesn't exclude the possibility that this man is placed here as a bait of some kind or a thrall under Ana's control, the latter being a very real possibility if Ana is a psychic.
That is why Jerrod is not going to take a step closer until he can ascertain how much of a threat this man can be to him and Croque. "Why don't you tell us what you're here for, what happened to you, and what you've seen?" The Controller asked calmly as he activated Lustrous Euphoria's physical prowess boost without manifesting it entirely in order to avoid alarming the soldier. It doesn't hurt to prepare for a confrontation beforehand.

The Theater
It wad too be expected... another godzilla victory. Part of his ling line of them. That part did make Nymbulda smile.
Not as much as having Denji in her arms did. She brought his face closer to hers and gave him a peck on the cheek, the woman trying hard not to be a lightshow. Though an excited flick of her tail did send a blue-skinnes critter flying through the air, the weirdly rendered entity shrieking before they hit the wall.
Luckily for Nymbulda, everyone else shushed the currently injured caricature sliding down the wall. Nymbulda would have to check up on them in a bit. Maybe do some chores for them as payment.
But now, it was her time with Denji.

Croque - Popillion
Croque seemed to become a statue for a few moments. Her eyes were wide and unfocused before suddenly narrowing to points. She looked over at Popillion.
"You mean to tell me. That you had no idea that this place had such a device? Do you even realize how badly this could go- for everything?!"
Croque has half a mind to slam Popillion into the wall over and over right then and there. But that wouldn't solve anything.
"Who would decide to make such a thing? The thought itself breeds nothing but megalomania. To be able to erase an entire branch of universes- do your people have no limit to what they think is reasonable?!"
Croque - Jerrod
Croque nods silently, her eyes focused directly on the man. Her face is still hidden by the helmet, which is probably a good thing- her face is... a mask of neutrality. The knowledge that her other shell has gained has spread to this one, as well. Despite the shock she feels, she remains standing beside Jerrod. Her voice rings out mentally to him, with no shift in her posture.
The bomb... Isn't a bomb. It's... a device that can wipe out an entire branch of the multiverse. For some reason, Popillion didn't even know she had it in this facility. I'm not sure if I believe her.
Croque still doesn't speak- it would probably only put the man more on edge. She simply watched.

Multiple Godseeker shells are engaged in combat. Some of them are faring better than others- an unfortunate limitation of my tech. Others are attempting diplomacy. Some look to be succeeding, while others have progressed to fighting. Unfortunately, this may doom those branches of these worlds. Logically, there are infinite worlds to branch off from afterwards.
...are you sure all this will be enough? We both know what occurred last time you fought her.
It may be enough to stop her for now, Doctor. We can finish the job when these powers are properly analyzed and integrated with my systems.
Alright... Just... Don't lose yourself in all this. Is it really saving the multiverse if you've become just as bad as the thing you're trying to stop?
I target worlds that are predicted to fail anyway. I'm not heartless, and at any other time this would pain me terribly to do. But I can't afford to care when so many lives are on the line.
...
Doctor?
...you're starting to sound like how I used to be. This is a slippery slope, Croque. Make you you don't leap off of it in the process.
I won't. I promise. I have plans with the words I may be dooming for now. They'll persist.

FALLING ANGEL
Ohhhh, some fire in her! Nice! The pilot says, hearing Julietta. He notes other big units - some of them speak to the others, and he realizes that apparently, they're all teaming up against an utterly dire threat. Huh? Could a guy in that weird thing be really that dangerous? Well, he likely was. The pilot could not afford to mess around and find out.
And indeed, though he did some damage, this caused him to become the target of no less than three of the damn crawling things. Droids?! Gah! And the thing was making more of 'em!
Hey! Those closest to me! Help me shoot that cliff down! We'll bury these things! He couldn't risk collapsing it, but as he stomped down on the ground with his Xeku, raising its big hefty metal leg in a groan of iron before bringing it down like a silver meteor, he fetched one of two bazookas this Xeku came with - a regular one, which shot big missiles. Big missiles by giant robot standards mind you.
He relied on Louise and Zinin due to relative proximity with their own firepower.
Assuming that they haven't made it to the top of the cliff, the pilot fire his bazooka, his Xeku bending its knees forward before actually shooting, the ground cracking and shattering at its feet as it fire a rocket powerful enough to cause the robot to reel backwards. Aimed accurately, the projectile try to hit the cliffside itself, with the goal of causing a landslide (if the explosion's splash damage doesn't work) to catch the Plumas and bury 'em under all that rock.
If they've made it to the topside, the Xeku pilot still ask for help and aim down, firing his rocket this time, with the goal of trying to eliminate the beasties with splash damage. He keeps firing from his side though, attempting to catch the dodging Plumas with more bursts of fire from his 120mm.

Thus she opts to follow the old woman into the barn, glancing at the dog with unintentionally the same sort of look that it was giving her. Almost as an afterthought, she also remembers to tuck the Goreshiv back where it belongs by her side, briefly grimacing with discomfort as one of the mutant fingers still clinging to its handle brushed against her own normal human hand.

The combined beams of Marxkirby and Sans keep him locked in place, until...
"You want liberation? Then I ought to stop holding back!"
A red Battle Aura flares up around Nazo, pushing DUX away in the middle of his barrage of attacks. As he lets out a power-up yell, the earth shakes.
More than that, the world distorts. Everything shimmers and warps as if it were all an elaborate illusion.
Then it cracks. It snaps like a rubber band. Light engulfs everyone...and when it fades, they're not in the Arena anymore.
The ground at their feet is a garish pink, twisting with dark spirals, squiggles, and other odd symbols on the ground. The sky above is a constantly moving rainbow pattern that hurts to look at. In place of a sun, there is a giant sphere of pure black over their heads, as if they were in the orbit of a black hole.
Nazo looks around in confusion, as if thinking this is some kind of trap. "What's this...?!"
An OP Event has begun. All limitations on power levels are removed. Character strengths are now lore-accurate.

"That explains a lot." , P03 says.
" Extradi... tangi... uh..."
"Sometimes he can be hit, sometimes he'll go through things. Now be more quiet.", Sylux quickly says.
" Oooooh! So what do we do?"
"We go to that building in the distance." , P03 says while pointing at the only building in view. "The Mother is somewhere in there."
Phantoon phases out of view for a moment, then reappears a little further. Sylux points with their finger.
"We should try to sneak past him then. When he disappears, we move. When he reappears, we quickly hide. If we do it right, he won't see us."
" So Red Light, Green Light? Alright, I'm game."
Phantoon vanishes again. Sylux shifts into the Lockjaw (the smaller they are, the harder they'll be to spot) and moves as fast and silently as possible, heading for a well large enough for the whole group to potentially hide behind.
Star Boy, as previously mentioned, tries to dim himself (and this works, the gold on him more brown-ish now and the white more gray-ish) and starts floating after Sylux. He almost chuckles, finding this exciting, but thankfully manages to stay quiet.
He reaches the well. Once the others are close to the well too, Phantoon will start to become visible again.
Nazo Unleashed
As his horse returns to his side, Sinterklaas gets back up and seems startled by Nazo's outburst of further power.
"Oh jee, dit is niet goed." (Oh gee, this is not good.)
A very big understatement, to be sure.
The world seems to shatter around him as Nazo induces an OP Event. Both Sinterklaas and Slecht Weer Vandaag are completely disoriented by this development, which is understandable.
As such they get caught completely of guard by Nazo suddenly attacking with a meteor shower of energy blasts. Both of them seems to get engulfed by the storm, leaving their fate unknown.

The Good Hunter get the gist. They'd have something similar, if not worse, so they can understand the conondrum.
They vanish out of sight and reappear behind the wall, quick on their feet.
UNTOLD LOSS
If Aura is naturally worried, Power is ecstastic as she goes along, summoning her huge bloody hammer by digging her nail into her wrist and forming the blood into a huge warhammer, which lets out a strange mix of sparks and blood as she trails it to the ground, laughing loudly.
BODY DOUBLES! YOU MIGHT BE POWER!! BUT I AM...
As soon as they turn the corner, Power does a tiny jump and let herself slide forward, swinging her entire body in mid-air (with Aura possibly getting hit by the swing) as she rotate her upper body almost at a 180 degree angle, stopping right as she gets into view and swinging her warhammer at whatever she sees. And if it miss (and once again Aura will need to duck), Power lets out a scream as she spins along twice, letting go of the hammer the third spin.
A CLEVER TRICK FOR MORE SPE-BEUUARRGHH Power nearly pukes as her hammer travels down the hallway. Should it hit anything, it'll try to smack them into the wall, violently bursting into a pool of blood on impact.

Popillion instantly looked offended with Croque, narrowing her eyes as she took a step away from her.
"Well- the Popillion Data Storage Conglomerate is obligated to develop weapons. If we didn't, how would we defend ourselves from monopoly-makers? Secure the interests of our shareholders? Keep the data in our storage from being leaked?"
Looking at Croque, expecting instant retaliation, she flinched.
And then she took a deep breath.
"...Believe me, if I knew my scientists were making a weapon like that, I wouldn't have allowed it to be made in the first place. You have my word, this thing was completely beyond my supervision... and we need to stop it."
Turning, Popillion accessed a nearby terminal.
"I'm going to deactivate the defenses. The moment I do, tell Jerrod, he can warp us all into the basement. That's where the weapon is, and more than likely, that's where Ana is too."
Power and Aura
Aura sees it first.
Behind the corner, a glowing white object. It was stretched and strange, almost like a hand.
Pure white. Bright white. Three-fingered.
...
Then Power hit it with a hammer.
BONK.
The hand retreated into the darkness, letting out a sound that was mixed of horrific high-pitched tones and static noise, before disappearing without a trace. Aura and Power felt a certain sense of relief, which could not be placed among normal emotions.
Whatever that was, it had left, and its presence no longer hung over them.
bro was just chilling? unnecessary.
Jerrod and Croque
The man responded to Jerrod... slowly.
"I-I don't know, um... my name is..."
He shook his head. "Oh, god, I can't remember it... I can't remember my name! Why can't I remember..."
Taking a step back, the man clutched his head.
"Can't remember, can't remember... I was here to... I was just doing my job, oh god, don't take me too!"
Eyes widening, the man reached out for Jerrod-
Then, he turned transparent, and disappeared.
Gone. There was no trace of him left.
DISABLE DEFENSES
Popillion tapped a final word into the console, and each of them felt relief. Their powers were no longer being inhibited by the facility's defenses.
Though Popillion's hand trembled, thinking of what they had to do next.
Yatta!N and Uzi
Wow! I can't believe that the captain of the ship was actually a ghost! And I can't believe that he was being controlled by the vampire Janitor who was tired of being bossed around in life and used the Captain as a proxy to do terrible things to tarnish his reputation! What a case that was!
Yes! Lucky for us that we were robots with unsuckable oil! But his vampiric blood was very drainable from his body thanks to my holy ammo and you pining him down!
How do you even have Holy Ammo? In such quantity? I mean, there was blood in the entire ship all week!
Haha, we're Murder Drones! We're made to murder anything we come across, even fictional monsters! That have a disturbing tendency of NOT being fictional when crossing the universes!
But you couldn't slay ME! Uzi says, pointing at herself, both drones watching the exhausted ship and its crew make it to the dock of Hub Centralis. N smiles and happily rub his head against N, before both bots let out an inorganic sigh of exhaustion as well, slumping on their rails.
... But while that was going on, did you think about what we could do to spare ourselves from being hunted down by a maniacal man-machine? A MMM, if you will?
Of course! And it's such a genius plan that I just didn't feel like communicating it to ya till now! Just listen-
Hub Centralis, Streets
It's animated outside - people are running down the streets, hanging their laundry, kissing, doing organic things Uzi find very repelling and ugly! Grr!!! She'd go apeshit on these humans if not for the fact she was looking for, hard as it was to admit, allies. They needed to stop Adamas in a way that wouldn't kill him and then discover what he knew, what he wanted and who sent him.
Then they'd kill him.
Or should they? He'd respawn, right?
My little bolt, I'm waiting for your super secret top tier plan to get working!
Tsk! Plans work best when the viewer doesn't get to know them in advance! Uzi says, shushing him. N nods quietly, and the couple keep walking into Hub Centralis.

Upon spotting the Gigantamax Torterra, Yammark loudly yells, "A green giant turtle! Hell yeah! Show us what you can do!"
"It t-took you this long to notice...?"
"Well excuse me, Morphy..."
Ataru shakes his head in disapproval.
Gumby - Vs. Nazo
Since Gumby isn't in the arena, he now has access to pure imagination. A child with that power is among the most dangerous things to picture, indeed.
The first thing Gumby does with this power is to grow to the size of a skyscraper. He is immediately perforated by the negative blasts, turning him into a Swiss cheese giant. The odor of Swiss cheese attempts to flow into Nazo's nostrils.
Regardless of that scent tactic working or not, Gumby attempts to crush the braggart villainous hedgehog like a pancake.

Hub Centralis, Somewhere
Even now, three years after he’d first donned the mask, swinging through the city never brought so much joy.
He roared over streets, shot through scaffolding, zipped around corners, and rebounded off trees of glass and concrete in this urban jungle. He remembered the first month—hell, the first year—he’d taken to doing this every day. The clumsiness, not knowing the extent of his own speed and his embarassing crashes that even now he’d get recommended to him on You Tube under a title along the lines of: OOPSIE-DAISIES! SPIDERMAN SMASHES INTO BUILDING!
There was a particularly persistent video that followed his For-You Page like a nightmare no matter how often he tapped that “Not Interested” button in the corner, a twenty-minute long “Spider-FIEND EMBARASSING CRASHES COMPILATION!!!!!” uploaded by the official Daily Bugle amount. Well, at least they respected the hyphen.
But now? Now he couldn’t remember when the last time he’d slipped up had been. Now he somersaulted with every swing; did flips and tricks that inspired whoops from the people below. Now he texted-and-swung, watched those same moments on Tik Tok as he patrolled the city, watched Awesome Spinosaurus Edits and the same exact “Artists Who Can’t Sing vs Artists Who Can Sing” videos with increasingly more ridiculous effects and less screentime for Yabadabadoo every time.
Such was his life now. Wake up, get his early morning classes out of the way, and once he was out, he’d put on the mask and begin the day for real. His patrols started around lunchtime, while crime was hangry, and they’d end just after sunset. The other guy took over from there. Though they’d never met, there was a shared understanding between the two vigilantes.
Well, regardless of all that, today was already shaping up to be a more interesting day than most were. He’d stopped a bike robbery already, helped an old lady cross the street, chased the lapdog that jumped out of her purse across half of Center Park before catching it and bringing it back (she’d somehow ended up on the other side of the street he just helped her cross), helped her cross again, stopped the same bike thief, did a backflip for a couple kids on their way back from school, then had to stop one from breaking his back when he tried to copy him, stopped a different bike thief from trying to steal the same bike, and put Shocker behind bars after he tried to rob a bank. Again. He finally got to employ the “Shocker trying to rob a bank, huh? Shocker!” joke he thought up just this previous Sunday, at least!
Anyways, all that, and it wasn’t even 4 yet. The activities of the day had just began to hit a lull and he was taking a quick lunch break, eating a sandwich from his favorite deli with his mask lifted to his nose as he sat against the side of a building, when Spidey noticed a crowd gathering at an outdoors cafe below trying to get his attention. So he quickly finished up his hoagie, pulled his mask back down, and swung down there for the round of selfies, unaware of the two scheming bots nearby…
With great power…you know the rest.

Filthy Corpse World
Sylux is... suitably somewhat disturbed by the Good Hunter's bloody tears. It's like every second this guy... girl... either or finds another way to take Sylux by surprise.
P03 simply looks amused at Lenna's suggestion.
◔ ⌣ ◔
"Making the Mother surrender? Hilariously naive."
ب_ب
"In this game, bosses don't 'surrender'."
"But if you want to waste time trying I'm not going to stop you."
"The two of you have some insane powers if you're being truthful.", Sylux says to both Lennas. "And here I am, a mere hunter for hire."
They look at Star Boy.
"And what can you do?"
" Anything.", he bluntly says.
" ... well, I used to be able to do that, but some big blue turtle guy put a limiter on me so I don't have nearly as much magic available to me."
(¬‿¬)
(¬_¬)
...
It happens super fast, but for just a split second P03's expression was a smug one.
" Anyhow, while I was captive in that giant robot head for years-", he begins to say without giving any context at all. " -I've heard people talking from the outside whenever they'd try to get me out. This ship was mentioned enough times that it stuck to me, and when the doors opened a few hours ago I sensed it so I asked Lenna if we could come check it out because I got curious."
He smiles widely.
" And now we're here!"
... wait, a few hours ago? That's before Collector Samus and co showed up.
That's even before Ridley tried to get into the Glitch Realm.
"That must be when that blue doppelganger of yours got in." , P03 says while looking at Collector Samus, answering that question right away.

Roy's and Trina's cabin
The aforementioned Roy and Trina
◊ enter the cabin, both carrying some food and other various supplies.
"If there's one thing I don't like about this hidden cabin it's that it takes way too long to get supplies back here each time we have to go get some."
"You've said that before."
"Well it bears repeating."
Trina ignores any further whining and enters the room where Greyface is sta-
She pauses in surprise when the room is empty. Travis, after putting down the stuff in his arms, also looks and is equally surprised.
"He's gone."
"There's no fight of a struggle or break-in.", Trina says as she inspects the room. "Which can only mean he left on his own accord."
"He's finally better, huh?"
Trina starts to grin in excitemenet. A rare sight.
"Then our work here is done for now. We can go back home."
Travis smiles too.
"We really did it, huh? Father Khalasar's going to be thrilled!"
"Maybe for once your optimism is warranted. Let's pack and leave until the time is right."
—
Somewhere much further away, Greyface (without his mask on)
◊ sits on a small steel platform that's driving forward. It's all that could be recovered and repaired from his floating platform. But at least he doesn't have to walk.
Even if he had to though, his mind is too laser-focused to care about whining for once.
"I need to build up my resources somehow. Make a new robot suit. New weapons. New everything! Those two kept me up to date on everything that's been happening, so I have a good idea on where to try first."
He narrows his eyes furiously.
"Watch out, Ness. Next time we meet, I won't hesitate. This game of ours is gonna end, and for once I'll be the winner!"
He drives off into the distance.

In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.
