Dromuund Kaas - Arena

Baz Bambozine could now brag to her father about getting into the Sith Academy.

Of course, Baz herself wasn't all that pleased at the prospect - standing over the arena, watching down at the fighting Sith Lords like animals unleashed for a bloodsport of a sort, surrounded by other Sith Lords and their sycophants, whom she was at a risk of angering or otherwise upsetting if she ended up being too clumsy and accidentally bumped into one of them.

To avert herself from that fear, Baz had calculated a path between her portion of the balcony and some drinks, which she occasionally picked up when she felt thirsty. She'd also surrounded herself with some of her squadmates, most of whom shared her nervosity. That is a nice swing... Baz says, watching as the Siths fight one another, one of them pinning another to the wall by pressing his lightsaber against hers.

Hahaha, he lopped her head off! We're still at a stage where we can take bets, right?! laughs one of her squadmates - Belizor. Most shared her nervosity, but he didn't. And though he knew better than to delight too much in it, he still stood out from the rest in the more passionate commentary he'd have to deliver. ... He seems to be a contender... Tilpa agrees, although she's careful about her wording - even if they had been weak, since they died, none of the imperials troopers wanted to trashtalk these Sith Lords.

Even dead, they had a higher standing than some troopers, most of whom had been invited as courtesy.

A lot of these corpses were contenders. Romo points out to his colleague. The tall man points down at the inert bodies of the dead Lords in the Arena. A second is all it take for the Lords to turn the tides. He wasn't wrong - all of them were amazed at seeing the red blurs swinging below, with their even faster wielders jumping around the Arena, clashing their lightsabers with inhuman grace, speed and movement. When some of them weren't tapping into the Sith Dark Arts to unleash lightning or try to direct the Force itself into crushing windpipes.

In fact, the contenders only become truly visible when they stopped - often because they had been struck down or otherwise immobilized. And this meant that Baz and her squadmates couldn't really see where Thorn was - for all that Baz knew, she'd died. And her sister would only know at the end of the fight. With there being low odds that there'd be a corpse to bury.

It distressed her - and her knuckles whitened as she pressed her fingers against the glass of her drink, with so much force that, had one of the Sith Lords below decided to rip it out of Baz's grasp to use it as a projectile, they very well might have failed to.

But there was a second reason behind her nervosity - one that was creeping at the edges of her sanity, ebbing and flowing, there but desperately trying to be ignored by Baz. And fortunately, she quickly found just what she needed to be able to safely ignore it. Look! She warns the rest of her squadmates, enthusiastically pointing somewhere close to the victorious Sith Lord.

Who will see Thorn standing a few feet away from him, with a Lord's decapitated head by her feet. She'd discarded her helmet, leaving her long black hair to flow to the wind behind her. And she'd lightly customized her coat wrapping her hands (finger expected), knees and lower legs in red fabric, with the tip of her coat being in a deep shade of red as well. The rest of her outfit, which generally left only her face exposed, was black, with some hints of red here and there, such as on the tip of her sleeves or the pauldrons she wore on her shoulders.

Treachery was the way of the Sith - Thorn knew that. And she knew that standing still like this was a risk. But still, because she felt like it was required of her to do so, the young woman spun her lightsaber to perform a little flourish with it, a calm smile on her face as she did.

And perhaps, for no real reason at all, the ambitious young Sith would feel dark, cold claws seize his courage away from him at the sight of it. But nothing that would make him flee like a coward - in such an environement, blatant use of her gift could turn against Thorn. And she knew better than to rely on it to win her fights. It was merely a way to make him slip up moreso than try to get him to leave in fear.

And besides all that, besides the pragmatism...

... Thorn just really enjoyed lightsaber duels.

The young woman spun her hand again as she lowered the weapon to her right, the incandescent tip of her crimson blade illuminating the ground at her feet. Then, after giving her enemy more than enough time to get ready, Thorn bent her legs slightly and propelled herself forward like an edgy missile, an hand behind her hand as she used her curved lightsaber to try to prod for weaknesses in her foe's defense.

He'd beaten his last opponent by overwhelming her - Thorn sought to avert that by trying to take the upper hand in the fighting early, launching a series of quick, if non-committal, attacks with the tip of her lightsaber. She'd stab half a dozen times in a quick succession before going for a horizontal slash from the left. And should her opponent not force her to change tactics, she'll lift her arm up to try to slam her weapon down on his skull, about twice, before trying to quickly thrust her arm back and forth for another stab.

Onyxis

Venti hated... HATED... his current situation. Nach'Honok had promised to help him and so far they hadn't gotten close to finding Lumine. If anything they had just gotten more lost on where she could be. They encountered Morax's who weren't their Morax, weird blind lizardtaur people who loved radiation sickness, and an especially aggressive redhead who just enjoyed beating the shit out of people named after vegetables. Don't even get him started on Narcissus!

Scaling a mountain practically submerged in a thick blanket of frost, the diminutive bard looked our of place in his aqua-green attire. And seemingly no winter gear besides a brown wool scarf.

Nach'Honok said that Taraki and Ao Bing were also missing, and had not rejoined with him on comms in a while. Shui Gui probably thought he was nuts, but this was more than just some rendezvous for the kick of it.

They needed their friend... especially with what was around the horizon.

Luckily! The Wind here respected his authority too! He had heard rumors of someone The Traveler was familiar with-

That he personally couldn't stand.

Not because they were especially evil... It was just they were hard to read. Harder to even predict. And in general especially nosey.

After trekking through the icey, rocky terrain, he came to a ledge that would have give him a pretty good view of the area. It might point him to the right guy.

Wirh a quick burst of anemo energy he practically shot into the sky, and using his own hood, began to glide back down to earth. He was rather nimble free-falling, using the cold currents surrounding this overhanging peak with swift-like accuracy. When he finally landed atop the ledge, he brushed himself up and looked up-

Mortified.

An entire castle, frozen. Ruined. But he had seen this kind of destruction before.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1000059445.jpg

And as he stepped forward, he became more than aware of his surroundings.

"Ok Barbatos, he has yet to ever directly attack me..."

Only to suddenly see a sphere of energy appear besides him. It glowered with the purple sparking and chittering of electro energy. It bubbled and fizzled into a lilac purple eye- staring back at Venti lidless and inquisitive. Understandbly, Venti was a little nervous, cracking a unsure grin and immediately began to look around the ruined fortress.

"Do you know Oculoth-"

The Eye immediately shot forth a burst of Plasma, and Venti steeling himself quickly shot towards rhe right of the eye and pulled back his bow, letting loose an arrow rhat pierced the eye in an instant, anemo energy dispersing the construct. Though Venti saw both the wind and eye become, black flakes, not a reaction he was all too familiar with.

That's when a rift opened up beneath him, at first his skin sizzled, and using a blast of Anemo to leap up into the air he glided motionless above the churning purple energy beneath him...

Just as it split the earth where he had just been standing, a massive rift opening up that led all the way back down to the bottom of this mountain.

And yet the wind wad telling him this is the guy he was looking for. Oculoth didn't know cryo though... tsking his bow out he looked forward at the Fortress, to the source of this energy...

That wasn't Oculoth...

This floating, otherworldly creature, composed almost entirely of three tentacles, emerging from a semi-golden carapace. Gnarled into a beak-like maw, it held within its venter a glowing, violet orb with a dark, catlike pupil, three smaller eyes protruding from stalks atopnthe crown of the carapace. The tentacles it bore were segmented and made of something not quite metal, but not quite skin. Dark turquoise at the base, they coursed with that dame void energy before fading into bright violet at the tips.

Its voice was... something else. It lacked any softness, cold, and clinical.

"My preliminary reactionary tests show me you're a... physically capable organism. You lack the cryogenic properties that has decimated this patch of earth. You are not my target. However, you can offer up-"

Venti's senses were telling him to quickly move out of the Rift's sphere of influence, and quickly darting to the side he saw the earth return to the spot this creature had destroyed. Alongside a sudden burst of void energy that erupted forth with such intensity Venti had to shield himself from the sudden kinetic force now blasting against the anemo wall he had to put up.

   "Contribution..."

Venti practically snarled and held the string on his bow back, running as he kept it pulled, charging up an anemo blast. This void entity seemed more than willing to play along, and patches of the earth suddenly clicked with violet sparks. Firing off his shot, it soared through the air accumulating more and more anemo energy, becoming something akin to a raw sphere ofnhurricane grade force. The void creature clicked the bill of its carapace together, and suddenly went limp, the body fell to the ground as it's central eye flew away with impeccable speed.

The anemo burst collided with the fortress, and wirh only a second of delay it seemed the icey castle would stand. Instead however, its walls cracked and with a sudden boom the entire fortress exploded outwards and to the sides, part of it trailing down the mountain in a avalanche of debris. Venti knew something was up, and scanning the terrain, he couldn't even find the body of this void creature...

His expression souring, he suddenly realized... he couldn't move his feet. They were stuck to the earth. Everytime he lifted his food a strong magnetic reaction would occur.

"...Neat trick."

A couple of pieces of hard rime fell onto his shoulder, and looking up he could see a piece of permafrosted earth hovering above him in a perfect circle. Venti's irises started to glow, energy coalescing and notching onto his bow string as wind gathered around the Archon.

"Just full of them are you?"

The Rime started to fall apart and reveal the body of the creature, the rye shooting back into place it as glanced back down at him with calculating indifference.

   "Likewise."

Venti could feel disturbances in the earth, vibrations akin to some pulsing rhythm. It traveled up his body, bouncing around as the void creature stared him down. Venti was able to surprisingly keep a chipper tone as he faced something down that was... both shockingly familiar and completely alien.

"Whats your name big guy?"

"Previous organisms have asked this question when in distress. Replicating earlier prompt statement: Does it truly matter here?"

The archon let out a devilishly cheeky grin, shaking his head side to side.

"Nope!"

Vel'koz only had so much time to respond before a sudden bursybof wind hit the creature, tossing it around with incredible force, grains of ice and gravel now made effective enough to move through terrain like a molten needle. As the void creature was battered Venti blew onto the earth at his feet, cracking permafrost and snow as he hopped away from the magnetized ground.

"Irs just a common courtesy-"

Venti's eyes went wide as he saw waves move across the earth, magenta and rippling against the earth. He checked the gale force cyclone originally buffering the void creature and found nothing there...

Quickly taking flight Venti prevented himself from being made into particles as the waves became great swatches of vibrating plasma, quickly rushing to where he was standing.

Landing once more, Vel'koz attempted to smash the end of his tentacle through the archon's head, who seemingly blinked our of the way and grabbed a hold of the tentacle, slamming Vel'koz down like a sack of potatoes. As he went to notch some energy onto his bow Venti suddenly felt time coming to a crawl. Turning his head back to face him felt like a century, but three independent hooked waves of void energy were spinning in place around eachother. The time it felt to register what was happening and act on it seemed like literal millennium, before he felt his body get ripped from where it was standing, molecule by molecule, before being thrown into the ground as if his density matched that of a star's core. As reality moced in real time he let our a audible gasp of pain, arching his back off the ground like a fish as he held up his bow.

"Let me indulge in your name, now. It is largely irrelevant but, perhaps it would comfort you."

Venti started to giggle, and while Vel'koz was curious, he didn't pause. As white lights started to surround his eye, he looked down at the diminutive bard, expecting either an answer or some form of retaliation.

"If you must know... I like to be called Venti. Barbatos... Nike... take your pick... But my friends call me Venti."

   "Understood."

The void creature fired off his Lifeform Disintegration Ray, a blast of pure kinetic energyyearing through the air, and expecting to land on Venti, quickly realized there was an error. As the dust settled... he had no data on the man before him.

"Intriguing. Incredible speed or instanteous relocation-"

Vel'koz quickly produced a barrier of Void Energy before him, stopping a cyclone from crashing right into him. Dead molecules flaked around him, having the consistency of ash and the color of charcoal. He glanced a tad worriedly into the massive tornado crashing against his defenses, seeing this "Venti" as being the eye of the storm itself.

   "You are enchantingly destructive, Venti."

His smaller eyes could discern a faint grin amongst the veil of debris and anti-matter the two had created.

"Ehe! Likewise!"

Both stayed in their elemental stalemate, before Venti broke the storm. Vel'koz could see how the permafrost was scoured, the texture of sand. Hardstone eith the consistency of Loam. This humanoid was a threat. As it prepared a retaliatory strike, Venti was suddenely besides the beholder-like entity. Instinctively Vel'koz lifted a piece of earth and wrapped himself in a bubble of void energy, preparing to crash down onto of Venti. Yet in all irs calculations, it didn't expect the following to come from this individual, especially with such gentleness:

"I could use your help."

"... to be fair, I don't think it can actually talk.", Iris says. She crouches in front of the Deliderp.

"Are you waiting for someone?"

It tilts its head again. Does it understand? Who knows.

Duckus hops up on Milo's head.

"We wanted to keep an eye on it 'cause it sometimes lives in the cave with us, so it's kinda... y'know, gettin' attached and stuff, quack."

The duck then raises one wing, holding it to his chest.

"Why, it's... someone we know back from our place. I doubt you've heard of him."

Milo barks again, then walks up to Iris (with Duckus still on his head). Iris turns and pats a now happy dog on his head. Duckus seems to smile a bit more at the sight of that.

Sylvie kneels down to look at the Deliderp.

"Alright, so... who are you waiting for? Could you draw them on the ground or something? I want to at least know what exactly this mystery of a person looks like," she says, keeping an eye out for whoever the strange bird could potentially be waiting for.

Loki smiles his usual smile.

"I don't know, my family and I are rather familiar with quite a few people. Perhaps this royal-sounding gentleman might be among them," he says.

Thor raises an eyebrow.

"Really? I can't say I recall Ovarr or Psyco ever mentioning this bird staying at your lair when Loki and I visited them," he replies.

THE WRONG END - SUNBURST

The Sniper stops for a moment, and while it seems like it'd be Zeloai's use of the Force that'd bother him, he's actually stumped by being asked what he knows about that strange man in a suit. Because all his memories, which feel like they're pouring down his skull like a waterfall, involve other people. As far as he knew, he'd spent his entire life in that town.

The Spy whistles at Zeloai's Force proficiency. Which will be magnified yet again - unusual generosity that he might be compelled to be wary of.

... We were colleagues and enemies. The deadliest mercenaries on this planet - la crême de la crême. A title which we all lived up to when we decided to waste years of our lives fighting for the sake of two brothers who had fortune opposite of the number of grey cells dancing in their skulls - that is to say, they were wealthy and stupid, competiting over worthless gravel. And then a third one appeared to send robots at us. Although we still do kill each other... for old's time sakes. The Spy says, lightning up a cigarette.

I wound up in this place dying, although that was due to an unforeseen twist of fate the likes of which no professional could have foreseen, let alone overcome.

2FORT - RED BASE

hmphhuhuhuhuhuhuhu... The Spy had done well picking the Medic as a diguise - nobody would question a Medic running towards a wounded Heavy to provide him with some healing, right?

Except that the Spy hadn't anticipated a most vexing yet obvious development - one he'd realized only as the flames of annihilation engulfed him, burning the flesh off his bones, courtesy of a Pyro that was also making their way out of the battlement.

He had a Syringe Gun equipped.

The Wrong End - Anthill

I was reborn in that world. And I've been striving to escape ever since. Defeatism... isn't something that suits me. Izzy Marrant suits do. And Success does even better. And if I can show those cowardly rats that escape was plausible all along, well, it's all the better. The Spy says, putting emphasis on his words. In my world, you are... a good shot. Our little ragtag band will benefit from your presence, truthfully. so long as there aren't too many of you The Spy adds, cryptically.

The Sniper scoffs at that, but while the Spy sounded insane, they were next to someone who was making stuff float with his mind. That, and the Sniper himself was hardly a rational person. A rational being.

Fine.

And then the sun rolls in - making it unlikely the trio will pursue the conversation. Running up to the rooftop, Zeloai, the Sniper and the Spy will all see that the streets below are a mess of statues making their way to Gorgeous Gary's Disco Floor, apparently ignoring the trio above their heads. Cold comfort for the group, since they aren't guaranteed that this ignorance will persist.

Nevermind the intensity of the sun above... The group won't be able to linger outside for long without eventually being dehydrated at worst, getting some nausea or sickness at best. That said, there are two options. First of them being the ladder the Sniper originally used to climb up. The way down is clear - for now - meaning the trio could use it to escape.

The second option? Jumping off the rooftop and into a window next to it, which will result in the jumper smashing through the glass and rolling off the floor to emerge at the second floor of the Disco... Floor. There, they'll be able to join Cap, Totem, Metal Blaze, Soan, Gau, Reed, Baz and Irina against the statues below, not really an escape option - more of a endanger option. But fitting with a true Jedi.

A third, optional, decision is to go back to the building they just left and try to see what to do from there - but the Sniper decides to pick a fourth option. Fighting off the heat, he plops down and start firing into the crowd of statues below, scoring headshots one after the other. Not enough to really start picking the numbers apart, but it's a start that'll make the group's job inside easier, thanks to Zeloai's skills at convincing the Sniper to work for them.

The Spy, however, isn't so easily impressed. Your rifle won't cut it against a crowd! He quickly analyzes his situation - Zeloai seems to be a trustworthy fellow. And the Spy's arsenal was ill-equipped to handle big numbers. I will make my way down and carry some of it - free up your little mind magic if you need it. I will not scamper off with those - I'd have nowhere to go.

If Zeloai trusts him, the Spy leaves with the equipment. But even if Zeloai doesn't, the Spy leaves. He doesn't see himself in a position where he can help by just shooting at the statues.

As for what's happening at the

GAS STATION

Deathswheel is interrupted in her deal by the rising sun - something she faintly recognizes as a bad thing. And if not on its own, the legions of statues are a clear warning unto itself. And a warning that overlooks her - if she were to want it, she could totally escape and leave the organics behind. And she could even kill the one in front of her, secure a Golden Ticket, make it to the Shelter.

Except that she had no idea where their shelter was. And with how awfully aggressive the place was, any time she'd lose looking for it could lead to her demise. Wasted time at all was an awful idea to her - because the next time she'd run out of energy, there was no guarantee that there'd be a convenient cube of Energon.

Her decision was made.

Deathswheel grabs Koiyu, hoisting her into herself as she quickly shifts forms, taking that of a car... but with her robot form's right arm sticking out. A useful tool to add to her arsenal, because right as she leaves, so does Rick - who's "kindly" grabbed Koiyu's acolyte with him. Either to reverse-engineer it or...

THIS IS OUR SHOT AT MAKING IT MORTY! Rick yells. WE JUST LEG IT TILL WE MAKE I-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Deathswheel swoops in, grabbing Rick and putting him up in her car form, which close up around him and Koiyu for good. ... I was going to be looking for help. He assures Koiyu, grumbling as he flicks her tool back at her.

GORGEOUS GARY's DISCO FLOOR

is more like Gorgeous Gary's Battlefield now. And Gau and Totem are the first to take charge - the former's flames swoop over the statues. Who are stone... but not entirely so. As attested by the aroma of "burnt flesh" that nicely begin to go up everyone's nostrils. On top of that, Fira's concussive power is enough to topple the statues, taking them down. Where the rest of the party can finish them off.

On top of that, the flames stick around, being a light repellent for the statues, although some of them mindlessly barrel on through anyhow.

Totem then takes down the metal platform, with Baz watching his transformation in awe... and a bit of embarrassment. Because she did tempt fate with her last statement. I know... She says, before having to cover her face due to the metal platform dropping. It crush a lot of statues, with the rest being delayed in their angry attempt at getting through it.

To their credit, the metal wall budge and shake with their angry flailing, even if it ultimately doesn't part. This forces the others to move up through the holes in the wall, where they're greeted by Baz, Matthew and Reed's firepower. But even then, they pour in, with blasters and bullets being only so efficient at keeping them down. We can't! There's too many of them!

That said, thanks to Gau and Totem, the enemies are much lesser than they would be otherwise. The group will need to fight on to avoid damage, which is inevitable anyway,

If Zeloai joined the building, this is where he gets to shine. But he won't be alone for long - The return of Soan (with Silco yelling in unexpected fright) back up Captain America, Metal Blaze and even Reed to stand tall as the group's bruisers. Putting his gun away, Reed begin shattering the statues himself, landing precise jabs that become widespread, desperate haymakers as the fight breaks down around him, with the statues clawing at his back, side, face or chest - and getting nothing but sparks, occasionally blood... and a punch to the face.

Z-ZELOAI!!! Baz screams, if Zeloai has made it. Catch! She throws her (unignited) lightsaber at him, meaning for the Jedi to dual wield both weapons together. As for herself, she's reliably safe - walking back to be closer to Metal Blaze and the others.

A nearby statue is split in half near Silco, and he just kick it in the head by instinct.

And if the group hold the line, if the group fights well, if the group pours in everthing they've got, with more gunshots going off outside...

... The statues flee. Running from the group instead of at them, as if scared. As if not expecting any group at all to be able to put up such a ridiculous resistance. The cowards that they are flee from danger! And with that, the victors of the brawl are left standing, perhaps bloodied for some, panting for all of them (bar for Metal Blaze, most likely).

Yet victorious.

The Mad Arena will not be stopped. Nor will it be destroyed. Yet. But it will see itself denied by a group that it should have engulfed. Marie comments, having done less than Silco for the entire fight. You are... LODESTAR. A guiding light. Not all of you will make it - but you will all be in a better place.

... Tsk... Silco checks into his pocket and extract some objects from it. A small golden brooch, with some small purple graffiti at the edges of it, for at least two of them. If you manage to almost make it this far, I'd be curious to have you as a part of my organization. Press your finger unto the brooch. It will teleport you to my place of dwelling - the Underground. He says. And it isn't the only thing it does, but he keep mum on that particular part.

Matthew takes one. "And what if someone very bad kill us and use them to get to you?" He still pocket it, smiling. Things were working out pretty good!

We have our ways around that. For what it's worth, do not see that as a way to escape danger. Silco adds, contemptuously. It's an investment. Not an easy way out...

"And why didn't you use it on yourself as soon as you got Mirae?"

It's not something you can do in the middle of a fight, unless you can hide. I-

A scream resonates in the air - a long, deep, guttural screech emerges from the sky - everywhere around the group. Everywhere around the town is a cacophony of the damned!

The Sniper, still perched on top of his building, lowers his rifle. The walking corpses... He mumbles. Without hesitating, he jumps down the building to try to get to the street. And, doing so, he narrowly avoid being fucking ran over by Deathswheel, who, thanks to her sensors, can tell where the group is at. She stops right in front of Gorgeous Gary's Disco Floor, and see no other way of calling out to the group than by loudly honking them over.

Get in! We have to leave!

There's no ominous sky above nor darkness. No glimpse of dark beings. There's only a dread which will engulf the whole group - whatever it is that's coming their way, bullets, fire, magic and martial skills won't be able to fend it off. Baz gulps, trying to grab Totem to stop him from trying to do something brave... but foolish. C'mon! She yells.

Silco agrees. Metal Blaze! Irina! We're off! With the brooch perhaps taking too long, Silco and Mirae leg it, running down the stairs in a hurry.

Everyone else wordlessly realize that they're in trouble and try running - with the Sniper trying to make it as well, his legs being thankfully uncrushed by the video game mechanics. The Spy is next to him, clutching the medicine... but running fast enough that a few minor healing kits drop at his feet!

Whatever happens, the escapees have very little time to make a decision!

"fuck sake" Fabienne mutters when the butchers and lancers make an appearance into the room. she adjusts her position so that she was looking at the larger group that gotten in to the room. she had the element of surprise since she was cloaked and hadn't fired off a shot yet at anyone. while she was adjusting herself she pulled the embars trigger halfway so that it charged the firing capacitors so that she was ready to fire off a 20mm round at her first target.

she aimed down sights at the larger group and singled out one of the lancers to take a shot on it. she led the lancer a bit on her aiming before finally taking a shot at them. the embar was being aimed centre of mass as well so if it didn't kill them it would have incapacitated them for long enough to the point they would have died from the wound.

the problem now was that she had now given her position away by firing the embar and more than likely was about to be lit up in some sort of fashion from the enemies even though she was cloaked. was just a matter of time before a possible round bounced off her shields and fully gave her position away which would force her to move to a different place to take up a firing position.

Throat of the World

The Deliderp looks up at Sylvie again, then actually draws something in the snow with a rock. It looks like... a fancy mustache?

"... I don't know what this means.", Iris says.

As for Duckus, he laughs sheepishly.

"A young man named Shulk, quack. He's got the accent. As for the bird, it's been with us a few times. Same thing as the snake."

"The snake?"

"A funny little thing. You boop it, and it goes eeeeh and pretends to be dead while being fine."

The Wrong End

Metal Blaze slightly turns her head to look at Baz, who may be intimidated by the gesture. However, the robot does not stop her from staying near her.

"They are potent fighters." , Metal Blaze comments, which Baz might hear.

Gau isn't bothered by the smell of burnt flesh other than the fact that it makes him kinda hungry. But even he knows better than to try to eat the statues.

With the rest of the group finishing off the nearby statues, Gau turns to the side when he hears something running at them. And it's Soan, who he's happy to see.

Soan bursts onto the scene, fangs out and ready to fight...

But then the statues flee, to Gau's confusion. Soan looks suspicious of the situation. This was too easy. His instincts are telling him there's more to this.

Gau turns to Silco upon being offered the brooch, approaching curiously and taking one. He looks like he's considering trying to eat it. Soan approaches as well, eyes narrowed. He doesn't know if this gesture is truly for their benefit or for his.

But there's no time to dwell on that. The scream ruptures through the air, causing Gau and Soan to both look up. The lion's fur stands upright as if in fear.

"... we have to leave. Now!"

Gau jumps on Soan's back.

The mystery girl, having heard the scream too, decides 'fuck it' with the stealth and runs into the room too right as Soan's about to leave.

"Wait! Don't leave me here!"

Gau and Soan quickly glance at her, neither of them knowing her. The rest of the group won't know who she is either. But Gau decides to reach out with his hand, allowing her to grab onto it right as Soan starts running for the exit. The girl's practically flying behind the giant lion like, but thanks to Gau's strong grip she can't let go.

And, well, her arm is in enormous pain at the moment from this, but it's better than freaking dying to whatever just made that scream.

Metal Blaze glances between the main group and Silco. These people can fight, there was that vision with her in the group. And if things don't work out, she can steal one of the brooches and return to Silco that way.

Yeah, there's only one logical option right now.

Activating the thrusters on her feet, Metal Blaze runs too - going in the same direction as the group instead of taking the underground path.

The Wrong End

Eiorusu does a damn good job at keeping these statues away. The tengu easily is able to open palm mulch them when they come, and these sudden burst of wind and palm strikes helped those more ranged individuals getting more shots in. As well as their backup calvary charging onto the scene. Totem's movements wrre lanky and acrobatic, accompanied by gibbon-like hooting as he got into the thick of the battle-

And unfortunately even when the feeling of dread settles over them, Eiorusu's over confidence begins to over power Casper's rationalism "ㄖ卄 丨'ㄥㄥ 乃尺乇卂Ҝ 山卄ㄖ乇ᐯ乇尺 ㄚㄖㄩ尺乇 丂乇几ᗪ丨几Ꮆ 爪乇!-"

Luckily Baz helped reign him in, tugging at his wing feathers. The massive Tengu turned to face her, his bare-red skinned face consumed in a battle trance. But Baz was...

Wasn't the enemy.

Baz was something else.

Eiorusu groaned, and followed along behind her, chittering like a gibbon as it approached the car.

"ㄒ卄乇ㄚ ᗪㄖ几'ㄒ 爪卂Ҝ乇 乇爪 ㄥ丨Ҝ乇 ㄒ卄乇ㄚ ㄩ丂乇ᗪ ㄒㄖ..."

The creatuee shifted, shedding its coat like ash as the being's arms and posture grew more humanoid in proportion, till their more recognizable weirdo was before them. Casper auddenely felt alot lighter, running to the car as he coughed up feathers and looked to his rather raw palms.

"Awww nuts..."

Sylvie examines the Deliderp's drawing.

"Okay... Could you maybe, I don't know, give it a little more bloody detail? This could literally be anyone with a mustache," she says, doing her best to reign in her annoyance with how annoyingly vague the bird was being. "Hel, when are they going to be here?"

Loki contemplates that name.

"Hmm... You know what, I don't believe I'm familiar with anyone named Shulk," he says.

"I don't suppose this snake has a name," Thor chimes in, briefly looking around in case whoever the Deliderp might be waiting for shows up.

"No, it's a wild snake. But it gets food and warmth with us so it's probably gonna stay."

The Deliderp... isn't gonna be useful in proving more information it seems. Instead it stands back up again, hops off of the rock and starts waddling down the mountain a bit.

"Do we... follow it?", Iris asks.

"I see."

Before Thor, Loki, or Sylvie can say anything further, the Deliderp suddenly begins heading down the mountain. The Asgardians promptly exchange looks with one another.

"So..."

"It seems our mystery guest has finally arrived."

"Come then, let's find out who they might be."

With that, they proceed to follow after the eccentric bird.

The Deliderp keeps waddling until it gets to some plant life. Some shrubbery and trees. And once there, a tiny blue normal bird flies out of the tree and lands on its head. The Deliderp claps, then a figure from in the bushes gently picks it up.

Iris, Thor, Loki, Sylvie, Milo and Duckus would arrive right as the figure is holding the Deliderp in their arms. They reveal themselves to be...

A fancily dressed man who kind of looks like a stage magician. He has a mustache, so this may just be who the Deliderp was waiting for.

All three Asgardians regard the unknown magician with looks of visible confusion.

"So... all of my theories just burnt up and died in Muspelheim."

"At least we probably don't have to worry about this gentleman."

"For a moment, I thought it was leading us to someone we knew."

Slay the Princess

Previous

  • (Explore) "I'm only armed for self-defense. Can we just talk?"

"If you believe talk will hold any meaning. Not like I could fight without you letting me. Come down and see for yourself."

  • [Proceed down the stairs.]

The Narrator: The basement of the cabin is as fortified and warlike as the entrance. The Princess wears a suit of ornamental armor covering her head to toe, with a tunic underneath, and an extra layer of plating over her heart. Only her face is visible beneath a visorless helmet. She is bound by her wrists and ankles to shackles built into the wall, but on her hip is a sheath, and in that sheath rests a pristine blade of her own.
Voice of the Cheated: He put that blade there! He put it there so he can force us to use it again!
Voice of the Contrarian: I think you're on to something. But we'll show him this time.
The Narrator: I can hear you, I don't know what you mean "again", and I am just as surprised as you that she has her own blade. It's just my job to set the stage for you.

The Princess turns her head sideways, glancing at Quiet and Neuff, as she speaks.

"I see you brought the mediator again."

The Narrator: Wait...again?!

"Unfortunately, entering this outpost is an unspoken declaration of war. If you free me... I will be obligated to fight you."

  • (Explore) "You could've said that when I was on the stairs!"

"And then what would you do? Turn around and leave? You have as little choice in this as I do."

Glitch Realm

Shadow can't help growing a bemused smirk at Terios' unfamiliarity with Sonic the Hedgehog.

"No need to owe me anything. I'm doing this because it's the right thing to do."

He brandishes his Chaos Emerald.

   "Chaooos..."

Palace of the Kings

Young Xehanort recoils from the flames. Steadying on his feet, he swings his Keyblade side-to-side in an overhead arc like a clock, conjuring an array of large icicle spears which then fly at Lucas and Ninten with partial homing properties, encasing them on ice on impact.

Schezo is successfully stabbed, but he casts a healing spell on himself as he falls, managing to land in a kneel instead of fully collapsing. He whirls around to slash at Julius with the legendary Dark Sword.

Narzulbur

"I should be able to make a dagger. In a few tries," Tremont says, a bit sheepishly.

When Claus volunteers to make the food, draconic pride prompts him to step up.

"I cook for my team. Let me take care of it."

Throat of the World

Lorenzo looks at the bunch and smiles.

"Well now, what a surprise. I've seen the four of you battle before but I didn't think we'd ever meet in person.", he says, sounding proper yet jolly.

"If I may introduce myself, I am Lorenzo. And this darling over here is Doverap.", he says, holding out his hand for the small blue bird to land on, chirping, with him using his other arm to hold onto the Deliderp.

"... um... I'm Iris.", she says, a little perplexed. This is definitely not what she was expecting to find.

Glitch Realm

Terios smirks in an approving way.

"In the end, that's what it's all about."

He holds out his emerald too.

"Chaooos..."

He'll then move his arm out for Shadow's to clash with. If they both do so, the energy from Chaos Control will transfer to the portal and stabilize it.

As they do so, Omega simply looks back at Boyfriend.

"... FOOLPROOF EVIDENCE_ I BELIEVE YOU_"

With him being a robot and thus sounding monotone, it's unclear whether he actually means that or not. But given who Boyfriend is, he'll probably assume he means it and stop thinking about it immediately after.

Palace of the Kings

Ninten thinks fast, creating his Power Shield to not block but deflect the attack back at Young Xehanort!

Regardless of success, Lucas will then swing his staff, attempting to use PSI Paralysis on him.

"I'm gonna beat you senseless, and that robed guy's next!", Lucas shouts.

Julius, being the cheap bastard he is, villain-warps again.

"I see that barrier is gone."   , he grins, unleashing a Loptyr attack once again.

Narzulbur

"Hey, we've got all day and night if we're staying here anyway.", Tahn shrugs.

Claus, meanwhile, is slightly uncertain due to his own pride kicking up, but Tahn makes the choice easy for him.

"If he's got actual experience cooking then you'd be an idiot to argue about it."

"... true. But then what should we do? You can't be cooking and brewing and forging with us sitting flat on our ass, right?"

Sukuna vs Jerrod

Previously

Jerrod was a clever opponent - and one Sukuna had learned to respect over the course of their litle brawl. Respect as much as he did Satoru Gojo? Not quite. But as it stood, he'd found him to be one of the most tenacious, clever, powerful foes in the King of Curse's entire history of battle. In fact, if not for a particular condition and quirk of Sukuna, he'd have been genuinely worried - and in a way, he was. Corrin's body had been genuinely messed up. And if Jerrod's reflexes were good, Sukuna would be a corpse.

Much moreso than he think it could've been in his first outing - though it pleased him to see his power being matched like that.

The blade was close to his throat - not even Reversed Cursed Technique could save him if he were to be sliced there. But at the same time, his own Cleave would make short work of Jerrod if the latter were to get imprudent and let him do so. The fight was at a stalemate where a single errant twitch could doom either fighter. And both of them had the skills and experience to tell that.

So when Jerrod spoke up, Sukuna laughed - in a way, he was glad that Jerrod had been first to start the "negotiations". That said, Sukuna's laughter was moreso sardonic than his usual cruel one - almost as if Jerrod had said a good joke and Sukuna was laughing at it. That was high praise, coming from someone who had spent the better parts of the last ten minutes trying to slaughter Jerrod.

But that was how it was in the Arena, as Sukuna considered it. They were fighters, unbound by morality or petty grudges, fighting each other and admiring their skills.

I'll do as I wish. You, I respect. Your convictions are your own and you carry them proudly.    Sukuna begins to say.    ... Train them up. Make them as strong as you are. And I will.

Respect, like strength, are earned, after all.    Sukuna shrugs.    The nicest thing I can do is that I'll take all their strength in next time. And if they gain my respect, I'll admire their convictions. Simple as.

Loki is the first of the Asgardian siblings to speak as he greets Lorenzo with a wave.

"Loki of Asgard. May I ask when you've seen us in action?" he inquires.

Sylvie arches an eyebrow.

"Sylvie. I'm guessing the more... eccentric bird is also yours," she says, pointing to the Deliderp.

Thor merely offers a nod.

"Thor. I can't say I've ever seen you around these parts before, Lorenzo," he says.

Denji

's eyes widen at what Nymbulda said. The way it's said - even he can see it's flirtiatious but he doesn't get what she mean by that. And he's left at an odd point where, besides being generally baffled he's being flirted with, he doesn't know what to say back. But even if she had been very clear, he'd probably have struggled.

His face is a fireball - both in color and general flareness. And the young man struggles to eke out his sentence.

... ok.....

He try smiling, the turns to the cashier, who's looking up at the two of them blankly. They both look like trouble and, truth to be told, she didn't really want them to stick around too long, lest they end up causing a fight that wrecks the store. As a result, she sticks a pale index out and then curl it towards her, signaling for them to come closer.

And Denji would like to - but he has feet of clay.

"Against Set of course.", Lorenzo chuckles. "And Galeem and Dharkon. And against that underground army base not too long ago. I would've attempted to help with the latter but given that things were getting quite explosive... I felt like it wasn't quite the best idea. I saw these battles by pure chance, as Doverap and I are always traveling around."

He then shakes his head.

"Oh no, this bird is not mine. But I feel an odd connection that drew me here."

"Apparently it was waiting for you too.", Iris notes.

"Truly? Oh, then I can't have imagined it.", he says. "I suppose I should take it with me for a while then."

"Uhhh..."

The man looks confused.

"What's wrong, young lady?"

The Store

Denji would probably be further mortifed by the fact she's smiling back at his response, her purring practically loud enough the cashier could hear them.

Seeing her request they come over in such a way sobered Nynbulda a bit, and she rubbed the back of her head. Seeing Denji practically frozen, she picked him up by his sides and slithered over to the counter, placing Denji back on the ground.

"Sorry about that citizen. I should have just enough..."

She was just happy to see his reaction, Nymbulda feeling somewhat relieved he didn't shout an answer. Besides being stunned was a sign she got that...

...she didn't know the word.

Slay The Princess!

Neuff lets the dialogue play out, listening to any irregularity in it as she ponders. She did like the Princess's get-up this time. And she did like how blunt she was this time. Plus, it didn't seem like being stabbed with a knife would be...

Ok so, murder was never a good thing. But she figured there was an evil entity behind this - the Princess didn't seem like she was acting on her own accord... Or was she? Neuff needed time to see this out but she didn't want to endanger Quiet, who'd already had to taste death.

Nor did she want the princess to die.

I guess I'm the wrong kind of mediator because I'm going down into the ring. Neuff says, cracking her knuckles and neck.

... It's kind of a dumb thing to do. But there's something weird going on and I want to get to the bottom of it without endangering Quiet - let's throw a few punches at one another and see if this derails the "script". The Princess seemed to know what was up. Then I'll apply my knowledge to...

Neuff squinted her eyes. Ah, right. The ol' Blood Knight looking for an excuse.

After all, she was sore about the Princess outspeeding her last time.

... Find a way out? I guess I'll know soon.

"I think... this is what it wants."

The Deliderp looks at Iris for a moment, then reaches out with its flipper to boop Iris on the nose, surprising her for a moment. The Deliderp claps, then takes a gift box out of its tail.

"... for me?", she asks as she takes it. She starts opening it. Lorenzo looks kind of curious too.
