"Yeah, I don't like it when people talk shit about my mom.", he says.
"... what about your dad?", Billy asks, to which Ken scoffs in disgust.
"I don't give a rat's ass about him. Thinks I'll love him 'cause he sends me money."
"What?"
Ken sighs and comes back out from under the sheets.
"My parents are divorced. He went off doing some 'important' bigwig job and he didn't have time for us anymore, so he left mom to look after me and my sisters all on her own. He sometimes calls and he sends money, but he hasn't shown up for a single holiday or birthday. Screw him, I don't care about his money."
He glances down.
"I gotta get back home to mom and my sisters! I'm the man of the house now, I gotta be there to protect them! I can't do that if I'm stuck here!", he says, getting emotional.

"L-look, I don't think I can stop Lucas right now, so I'm gonna stay with him and make sure he's safe, and if we get into a situation where we need help I'll come get some of you with my 4th-D Slip. If I do it now I won't know where Lucas will have run off to by the time we get back, but if we make it to the location first I'll know where to go."
"Alright... please be careful, both of you.", Pilly says.
"Will try."
The call ends. Pilly sighs, worried for their safety but being unable to do anything about it right now. She then looks at Thor.
"... Concocted? How? They've been gone since the Cyber Angels. It's good to be wary but you're being way too negative. My brother'd probably say to give them a chance before accusing them."
That is exactly what he said, yeah. She then looks at Sylvie.
"You do? That's great! Try to convince him to come visit us at this base. But, uh, you're gonna have to leave us a picture or come along with him 'cause if he just shows up at the door and we can't prove it's him Pseudo's not gonna let him in."

"Lucas... could you slow down... a little bit at least!?", Ninten asks, out of breath from both running and calling. Lucas is floating forward rapidly, propelling himself with his psychic powers and Metatron powers.
"Every second we wait is another chance that Claus could end up dead! I... I... I can't let that happen again!", he shouts, sounding devastated.
"I was too weak to do anything to save him last time, but this time... this time I can do it!"
Ninten stops, completely out of energy.
"T... then... at least do me a favor and... pull me along too... 'cause I can't take another ste-eeeeeeeeeeep!", he shouts as he does indeed get pulled along.

Claus nods. He has no intentions on running into a trap. If they get caught this time, it's game over for sure. And if Tahn did turn on them, he tells himself he'd be able to do what he has to in order to get out of this alive.
They reach the upper stair. Claus notices that Tahn is breathing heavily and looking exhausted.
"What's wrong?", he whispers.
"Sleep Staff... was able to stall it with my powers but I feel like I'm about to drop at any moment... sorry, I didn't find our stuff in time..."
He almost drops through his knees. Claus quickly grabs his shoulder to hold him up.
"His muscles feel slack. He's not lying.", Claus whispers to Tremont. Damnit, if only he had Lucas' PSI Healing technique, then he could remove the status entirely.
He then tosses Tahn over his shoulder. Thankfully his chimeric strength allows him to move around without issue even if he only has one arm and he's carrying around a 12 year old.
"Gonna try to stay awake to point us part of the way... if we get spotted it's over. I came from the left hall... don't think there's an exit that way."
So to the right then.
No feathers on either side right now. They'll have to decide based on their own instincts.

's arm feels unusually soft to the touch. Almost surprisingly so - given the off-putting aura she emits, it can be... unsettling to feel so much humanity from her. Makima let her do so, after an initial look of surprise... but then try slipping her hand down Nymbulda's arm, going down her scales and attempting to get her in a handshake. If a polite one.
I'm familiar with that.
... She smells like cologne.
And then Makima draws closer to Nymbulda, glancing up at her.
It helps me do my job.

But it stemmed from how unbothered she was. How suave she was. How unreasonably soft and physically human she was. Yet her confidence was dangerously, predatory. Hunters can recognize hunters.
"Ngayurnangalku..."
She pulled away from Makima, huffing as she took a more wild stance then usual. Denji was used to her assuming more human poses and verbosity. Here she crossed her arms like a lion, and now in this pose could look Makima in the eye. She didn't like the look Makima gave her, and Deni could observe Nymbulda tilting her head, trying to keep a stoic expression.
She wasn't smiling.

AwawaWanda offers Ken a sympathetic look. Part of her wishes she had someone who could just punch holes to other universes on speed dial.
"You know, Pseudo has someone who can travel to other worlds. Maybe once he's recovered, he could take you back home," she suggests.
Pietro simply nods in agreement with his sister's proposal.
-
"Lucas? Impulsively rushing headlong into danger? I suppose it's more likely than one might expect," Loki muses, stroking his chin thoughtfully. "This probably isn't going to end well for either of those boys, is it?"
"Perhaps that's exactly why they've been away for so long. Maybe they were figuring out the best way to protect Mara from those who rightly want her slain for all she's done," Thor replies.
"Pietro's the one who actually knows the guy. Talk to him about it once he's done checking up on that kid," Sylvie says.
The Wrong End
Koiyu
Koiyu just smirks at Rick's move, looking at the door for a moment before heading towards the other room.
" Just in the nick of time, too, huh?"
She snickers at her own joke before looking at the cameras, her eyes narrowing a bit.
"...cameras all over town? In a gas station? I mean, I'm used to having no privacy what with the damn computer in my head but really?"
Then Rick is telling her what to do, and she gives a non-committal shrug before looking down at the computer.
"Yeah, gimme a second."
She takes a palm-sized disk from somewhere inside her coat, and with a mental command, instructs her muse to inhabit it- at which it activates and forms into a small, spherical four-legged drone, that lands on the desk in front of the computer.
"Command's already mirrored, Avia. Don't stop maintaining the cameras even if your shell is at risk."
"You got it, ma'am!"
The small drone connects to the computer and starts to automatically toggle the cameras as needed, the singular lens on the drone focused on the screen- meaning that while it can control the computer, it can't watch the screens at the same time.
"Stay there and watch the screens- the camera on that bot can't look at them and control them at the same time."
With that, Koiyu hefts the cube under one arm, before pulling open the grate and rushing off down the tunnel towards the car.
"Right- so long as these tunnels ain't lead-painted or something, my drone there should have a speaker and microphone, so we can keep in touch. Convenient, huh?"

aeiou: the second"I see. It is somewhat similar to a tsukumogami, albeit in reverse - a living creature that becomes an object instead of the opposite. Regardless, its identity is so tied to being a physical object that it behaves as one, even in its spiritual form."
Konngara one again groans inwardly when Eiki starts being all enigmatic. She genuinely can't understand how this woman can go on about one's sins in great detail and the exact steps to take in order to rid oneself of them, but the exact moment she is asked to actually say anything useful, she just does "why don't you figure it out". She may be a devotee of the Gods, but man, do these riddles get tiresome sometimes.
She briefly wonders if things could have turned out differently if Fudou Myouou had been more straightforward with his followers, but she tries her best to push such thoughts out of her brain. It would be beyond blasphemous and prideful of her to try to shunt the blame for her actions unto her god.
Still, she can't complain too much. She gets to wield a sword again and, in the name of the divine, smite someone who sure sounds like a danger to all things good and just. Several such someones, in fact. A nice and familiar black and white situation, like in the good old days. Before everything became so morally complicated. A faint smile forms on Konngara's lips.
"Well, let us waste no time then. We have a sacred duty to fulfill. Many thanks for your assistance, Yamaxanadu." She bows to the judge before heading out the gates.
All things considered, this could definitely have gone worse.
Sukuna vs Jerrod
Sukuna is seemingly the one stuck in the air - with little manoeuverability for him. An advantage that Jerrod, a superb warrior, is quick to use, recovering magnificently quickly from the devastating blow. However, while doing so earns him a quick nod of respect from Sukuna, the King of Curses is wise to his tricks by now - and eager to capitalize on his first clean blow.
As such, when Jerrod throws a punch, Sukuna acknowledges a fair chance that Jerrod will use a portal to strike. And he's proven right - which doesn't help him because Jerrod could throw a punch anywhere. Unable to figure out where to block ahead of time, Sukuna decides to dodge instead - he cannot move his limbs to block a hit, especially because Jerrod could strike him in the back or neck...
... But he can react to Jerrod punching and get clear - spreading his wings, the King of Curses bends his legs forward then kick the air behind him, a maniacal smile on Corrin's face as he torpedo himself forward by using his wings and "air-hop" together to dramatically increase his speed and mobility. He barely avoids Jerrod's punch as a result. And try to punish it with a voiceless, motionless Dismantle behind him. Which, due to the Binding Vow, is still more than apt at cutting through his flesh.
Many more Dismantles fly at Jerrod, outpacing Sukuna due to the Binding Vow. They attempt to cut him up on the thigs, shoulders, chest and neck before Sukuna himself try to slam into Jerrod like a missile, meaning to hurl him deep into the body of water...

Tacana remains silent for a good while as the party interact with each other, already building an internal profile to keep track of any observations she can make about the four of them. Can she trust them? Hard to say.
-Mach: Evidently more to her than first glances imply. Unknown capabilities. Observe closely just in case.
-Heller: Something doesn't seem quite right. Will need more information. Maybe future stresses will force a reveal.
-Kageko: Seems to be acting as a more direct companion to Heller over the others. Possible association between them.
-Blast Hornet: Obvious synthetic nature. Less obvious, degree of unfamiliarity with our environment. Might need to focus assistance.
With her thoughts organized, the artificial intelligence's form flickers as she ponders, then... With a gesture from one of her hands, a map of the area manifests to the side of her body. The mountains can be clearly seen as a couple of giant walls encompassing most of the west and south parts of the map, though there are three highlighted points of note. One in the southmost part of the mountain range, one to the area where the mountain range meets the eastern coastline, and one up the north. There's also a very obvious skull icon on one part of the map, somewhere in the middle of those three points...
"Alright, here's the situation... All information we've got indicates we're dealing with some type of reality virus here. It's been spreading through most of this region, though it's having serious difficulty passing through the mountain ranges due to the rough terrain and some assembled defensive lines. Each of these highlighted regions indicates an important weakpoint, let me think..."
Tacana pauses, closing her eyes for a bit, then snapping her fingers as the map zooms in on the southmost point.
"Alright, there's a pass that runs through here, and it seems like the reality virus knows about it given how many of its forces have been concentrating attacks down here lately. While the defensive lines have held for now, if that area falls we both lose an important logistical hub and risk letting the virus establish a foothold outside the containment zone, and while we're sure it can be halted by escalating force even after that point, it's still not a good idea to give it opportunities to spread further. Especially since we've yet to meet anyone who's recovered from its grip... Alright, in short, expect mass hordes if you go here."
Then, with another finger snap, the map flicks over to the eastern point.
"Alright, the deal for this area is that we can't fortify it properly. We've been able to put together a navy to reinforce the area and provide local support, but the reality virus has been setting up a naval force of its own. Most of the problem comes from the fact that wildlife outside this dimension get trapped in here, and if it ends up in lost territory then it gets assimilated too. We only found that out because we saw it happen twice - once from a flock of chickens being converted into Emblems and incinerating half of our best scout team, and the other time from a particularly unlucky dolphin getting caught and transformed into a Delphiyn... Alright, that's a tangent, in short, expect smaller numbers but tougher opponents here, especially assimilated wildlife."
With one more snap, the map moves to focus on the northern point.
"Alright, up here is a really interesting thing. We know that the reality virus initially spread from Rutherglen, a town located in the north. We also know that an entity of gargantuan size and considerable threat has taken up a nesting place in the nearby mountain range. What we do not know is why the reality virus isn't attempting to spread through here and into Astil. Theoretically, the lands would be ripe with easy pickings for it to assimilate, but clearly something's going on... Alright, to be honest, nobody knows what to expect if you go up here and you might quickly end up in a bad situation with little to no reinforcements, but you can still go if you want."
After a moment of consideration in which Tacana glances off to one side uncomfortably, she then grabs the map and drags it so that it's focused on that skull icon.
"...Alright, while not officially a point of interest, we've had reports of something extremely threatening happening here. Someone or something has been going around indiscriminately killing. They're clearly not associated with the reality virus, they've even taken out some of the heavy hitters like Indignants and Panoplys, and left the bodies hanging on nooses all over the forest to prove it, but given they've also taken the lives of some very good personnel... egh. Alright, it's a personal favor to ask from me that isn't exactly conducive to the war effort, but if you get the opportunity? Go over there and snuff out the life of whoever's doing this. At least give them something to worry about."
Tacana realizes that she has dumped a lot of info on the quadro, and thus decides now would be a good time to let them digest it. Or maybe ask further questions, in case anything she said got their curiosity. So, she pulls the map out to show the whole area once more, then nods.
"Alright, any questions or further information requests?"

Ken immediately turns to Wanda with a shocked expression on his face.
"What? ... I-I mean, I don't know who this Pseudo guy is, but..."
He glances around, clearly conflicted. Not about the offer though, he'd accept that in a heartbeat.
"... you'd do that for me? Ask him to help me, I mean. After how much I've snapped at you all... ?", he asks quietly. It's not only probably the calmest he's ever sounded around them, but right now the 'Ninten' in his voice really comes through.
—
"I hope it will. Ninten talked about his problems and probably cleared his head a bit, so I think we can trust that he'll know when things look too dire.", Pilly says.
Then she sighs at Thor, but not in exasparation.
"If you end up being right, I know for a fact that Pseudo will try to change tactics. He doesn't want Mara to get away with any of this either. So you really should try not to worry too much about that now, you're just gonna get super stressed, and maybe for no reason at all. We won't know until they actually come back.", she says to him, smiling.
And then she nods at Sylvie.
"I'll do that! He and Wanda just left, right? Did they say where they were going?"

Soulstealer snarls angrily at the mount attack, trying to shake off Veyolkos by thrashing around at first like this is Monster Hunter World Iceborne. When that doesn't work, he instead spreads his wings and takes off. He quickly does an aerial flip before slamming back down to earth on his back, intending on crushing the smaller wyvern beneath himself, before rolling around to get back on his feet.
"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."Wanda answers the question with an affirmative nod.
"Of course. It's the least I can do after all the help you've given my boys," she replies.
Pietro flashes a goodnatured smirk.
"And don't worry about Pseudo saying no, alright? I'll bet you anything he'll tell Botar to get you back home as soon as he's in top shape again," he assures.
-
"Then I suppose all we can do is wait until it's inevitably time to act," Loki replies.
Thor heaves a sigh as well.
"Given that this risky plan could potentially lead to Mara just slithering away unpunished for the horrors she's committed, that may be easier said than done," he says.
"I just said he was checking up on the blonde kid he and his family brought in, didn't I?" Sylvie asks.

"... As long as you don't actually bump into me again 'cause every time you do I'm scared I'll fall on my Walkman."
"Deal."
Tommy holds out his hand for a handshake. Ken then starts reaching out his hand too... but then spits in his hand first before offering it, catching Tommy and Billy off guard.
"... what? We always do it like this back at home.", Ken says, actually looking genuine about it. "It's like a blood-pact but, y'know, way less extreme. It means we're not allowed to break the promise."
"Uuuuuuuuhhhhh..."
Ken looks comically unamused.
"C'mon, don't be a sissy now."
Well that seems to be enough convincing, because now Tommy spits in his own hand too and shakes, even though he figures he's probably gonna get a small lecture at least later. Billy, for his end, looks kinda disgusted, but he keeps any comments for himself 'cause it looks like they've finally truly settled this issue.
"Was that so hard?", Ken asks with a smirk when the handshake's over.
"More like gross."
"That's what makes it binding! You know you mean what you say when you go for a handshake that gross.", he laughs. At least he knows that it's gross.

"Oh, right! I'll go check, on them and him. If he's waking up, he's probably gonna get hungry soon, he slept for over a full day."
Pilly turns and runs out of the cafeteria while waving to the Odinsons. She passes by Iris, who enters the cafeteria just as Pilly leaves. Surprisingly, Iris is currently back in her non-transformed self despite still having both her artifacts.

"Ah, you're awake! How're you feeling?", she says. Ken looks at her, confused.
"... are you Pseudo?"
"No, that's my brother."
"Ah... uh... okay. I'm fine, thanks to miss Wanda."
That is without a doubt the first time he's been polite when referring to any of the Maximoffs.
"Ah, that's good! Then you'll probably be good to go in a few more hours. Locke'll probably wanna check if everything's 100% alright soon. I can go get him. And I'll get you some food and drinks if you want."
As if willed into existence, Ken's stomach grumbles.
"... I... uh... am kinda hungry."
"How 'bout I see if I can't get you some... prime rib?"
Ken looks completely flabbergasted.
"How the hell did you know-"
Pilly just laughs.
"I'll get you some soda too. I'll be right back!", she says before leaving. This leaves Ken with Wanda, Pietro and a very amused Tommy and Billy again.
"H... how did she know? That's my favorite food. Did she hear my thoughts too?"
"I thought your favorite food was Oreos."
"No, that's my favorite SNACK. Prime rib is my favorite meal. ... but if you knew about Oreos, then that means I did think about them, right?"
"No, you didn't."
"Then how do you all know!?", Ken screeches, slightly freaked out, which just caused the boys to start laughing more.
"Nope. Locke gave me some meditation advice and I tried it out and I... well... was able to turn that form off again.", Iris says. Clearly she has no idea how that worked, but it worked, so she's accepting it.
"After that I was walking through one of the halls upstairs and I passed by a window, and, uh... I know you have a lot of friends that I don't know yet so maybe you know who they are, but I saw a pair of boys that I've never seen before hiding behind some nearby rocks, staring at the base. Thor looks just as pleasantly surprised as Iris.
"Well then, remind me to both thank him and ask him exactly how that technique works."

"I honestly have no idea who these boys could possibly be."

Blue Bowser growls and looks back down, only to find Terios gone. And he knows the hedgehog hadn't burnt to ashes just yet-
Terios, having used Chaos Control, appears behind him and spin-kicks the back of his head to knock him on the ground. The mask loosens just a little bit, and Terios starts to form a battle plan.
Instead of immediately attacking though, he rushes towards Beta Rouge, as the airships start opening fire now on everyone but Shadow and Terios. None of the others have a Chaos Emerald, after all.
Terios reaches her and picks her up before he starts skating to the side, cannon ball explosions happening behind him as he runs.
Venice tries to catch them with telekinesis, but some bullets from Omega almost graze him, causing him to lose his focus.
"Could you NOT-", he says to Omega before getting hit by a cannonball and smacking against the ground, the air knocked out of his lungs. Beta Blaze intervenes before he can get hit again, grabbing him before speeding off towards the other side.
Terios passes by Shadow and stops for just a moment.
"The mask can come loose if we hit the back of his head enough. If he loses the mask, we win."
Blue Bowser, meanwhile, gets back up and, surprisingly, dark magic-warps to Omega instead of Terios or Shadow. He interrupts Omega's attack on Bowser by suddenly grabbing him, picking him up, and just straight-up throwing him at the group, Boyfriend included. He doesn't give a crap about civilian casualties, if the kid's in the wrong place at the wrong time then that's his own fault.

"Silence." , Julius growls before turning to Schezo.
"Now who do you think you a-... wait, I remember you."
He smirks back, though more evilly so.

"What do we do now?", Claus asks. He knows they don't have much time to stand here and think, they're definitely not the only ones who heard that noise.
"Just... be stealthy... and get close enough to listen... if it's not anyone you know, then we take the other path...", Tahn suggests.

Wanda mentally exhales a relieved sigh.
"Good, that saves us the trouble of having to explain everything," she says.
"Him, Tahn, that future Ninten calling himself Ken... I really hope I'm not the only one noticing a pattern with Ninten variants here," Pietro chimes in.
-
The Asgardians follow after Iris, peering out the window when she points out the two boys.
"What the Hel could they possibly be afraid of? None of us have any intention of harming them," Thor says.
"They certainly don't look to be the children of anyone from G.E.M., that's for certain," Loki muses.
"No, they definitely aren't either of yours, boys," Sylvie remarks.
There's also that BE variant of Ninten but he went off on his own a long time ago. Would be really surprising if he ever showed back up in the Arena, right?
"Wait, some version of him with a different name than me stole my name!?", Ken asks.
"I didn't know you knew a future Ninten, Mom."
Ken sighs and lays back down on the bed.
"I think I need to rest a bit more, this is all way too much."
"Oh, uh... then should we leave-"
"Not so fast, you still haven't told me how I got this hurt. Do that first.", Ken says, glancing at the boys.
Tommy and Billy look at each other before looking back at Ken.
"You tried to protect me from that robot, but it broke through your shield and... well..."
"... impaled me in the side?", he asks. "I'm guessing I got hit there 'cause that part of me still feels a little off."
Tommy nods. Ken... doesn't really seem perturbed.
"Robots really seem to have it out for me most of the time. And for you too apparently. I remember you saying something about how you were drawn to the city?", he says, the last part specifically to Billy.
"Y-yeah, it felt like I was being called to in my sleep."
"That's some real Giegue crap. Anyway, now I'm gonna rest."
—
"Maybe they're afraid of big buildings?", Iris shrugs. She has no real idea either.
"What do we do? Should we go out and ask or should we ignore them? They don't look like they're here to cause trouble."

In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.Makima
smiles back slightly at Nymbulda. Her actual thoughts and ponderances upon the proud warrior are left unsaid in her mind, for she does not give anyone access to it. However, her smile slightly displays her teeth. Her white, clean, pristine, colgate teeth.
Astute. She replies, even if her tone does not make it look like a compliment.
I am Denji's Denji is on the ground. He's been unresponsive for a while, as if waiting for his turn to speak. He is. Superior in the Public Safety Devil Hunters. Dangerous devils like what you've just seen, we work on suppressing. It's unfortunate that the Wrath Devil has escaped our attention until it could strike - but it's equally fortunate for us all that you've dispatched it.
Makima slowly brings her arms up, pressing the backs of her hands unto each other before flipping them upwards with a calm, smooth, controlled motion, bringing the palms of her hands together.
And how splendidly you've dispatched it - using methods unlike our own. Yet efficient.

Nymbulda gave a low growl, Denji probably unable to parse what it meant.
Superior, huh... Not very Knightly language. She dressed like a CEO, spoke like a lord. An off-putting fusion she wasn't alien too.
But seeing Denji seemingly stunned in her presence, Nymbulda gave a rather empathetic purr out and wrapped an arm around Denji, bringing him in for a side hug as she pointed to the Devil Hunter.
"He's really good at his job! Heroes me see that when fighting the paper devil just need to get those things wet. If anything I've been following his methods and my gut when dealing with those... thinga."
There Be Dragons
As soon as Soulstealer started to fly, Veyolkos gave a rather odd falcon-like screech, and holding on with his forelimbs used the sharpened root to travel down the tail to the ground, trailing the debris through the skin and hide of the beast. As he landed back on the earth he waited for Soulstealer to land, before stabbing the root back into the elder dragon's back leg, twisting it as he clung tightly to the Xeno'Jiva's leg.

's smile fades into a light, passive scowl at seeing this. And Denji awakens from his trance as she does, his sentience apparently rising as Makima's overall mood lowers.
Y-yeah! She pulled some serious juju on the Wrath Devil! She had it in a bucket by the end! Nymbulda's really nice! And strong! And pretty! Andalsoshecouldusesomemoneyithink? Denji says, whispering the latter, attempting to make his gauche statement less gauche... by making it less audible.
Makima doesn't look too impressed, but she does compose herself into a smile.
It's an impressive feat to be certain. But you wouldn't like our work. Bureucracy ill-suit chivalry.

MAKIMA
Seeing Noble Denji being so stunned confused her. Her brain was going into overdrive.
Something about this woman was wrong. Just in a way that just didn't make sense. She was small, and unfamiliar, and she was among a guild of top-order predators. So this redhead's visceral aura was... unsettling.
She liked her eyes though, wouldn't hurt to have a peepers like her.
Though since this Makima figure was, new, and Nymbulda felt somewhat protective going off of Denji's reaction, the Muldjewangk crawled forward om her knuckles, slithering over as she she lifted up Makima's arm. Not in an attempt to hurt her, but more so just to examine the woman.
"Nymbulda, Blade of The Muldjewangk, Knight-Errand of the Kurrangk. I take it you know Noble Denjir here?"
Uncomfortable for the other two, Nymbulda was smelling around Makima.
