Liberation from Hell

The two arrive at a city built like a giant traditional Japanese village. It hosts long rows of buildings with sangawara and nokigawara roofs.

Youkai chase fairies through the streets. Oni gather at what appear to be restaurants to partake in drunken revelry.

Paying the denizens no heed, the duo continue on, until an arm suddenly reaches out from an alleyway to block Konngara.

"Well, well, well," a gruff voice says.

Another blonde steps out from the shadows. Unlike Parsee, though, she's a Statuesque Stunner of amazonian physique. She also has an especially striking feature in a single red horn protruding from the center of her forehead, almost exactly like Konngara's. The only difference is, her horn is properly a part of her head, whereas Konngara's horn is, in fact, an embedded blade from which blood continues to trickle, even now.

Kingpin of the Hot Spring Town of Old Hell. Ruinous Super Strength. The So-Called Unexplainable Phenomenon. Anomaly of Power, Chaos, and Spirits.

Yuugi Hoshiguma, carrying a saucer of sake in one hand.

The oni sizes up Konngara and William with a Fascinating Eyebrow.

"Did someone finally figure out where she belongs?"

"A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to."

THE WRONG END

"Aelun" wasn't unfamilliar with "steel magic", big or small. The collapse of civilization and the sheer scale of destruction at the City of the Dead had caused plenty of natives of the Mad Arena to head to the new "south" of it, where the fallen kingdom of Eternis had been resettled. As such, the Dragonriders of old had met and clashed with the advanced technology of foreign invaders.

And they'd tasted it too - oh yes, they had.

So Aelun immediately recognize what's being deployed against him - and being prepared for a brutal end to the negotiations all along, his sharp reflexes get him to react quickly to Siffrin pulling out a fucking revolver, backing off and grabbing one of his fellows by the shoulder. The Dragonrider falls forward, only looking bothered as his body's riddled with bullets. One sinks into his exposed forehead, while another penetrates his right eyeball, neck and left shoulder, blood spurting out of the wounds.

15 SOLDIERS LEFT

Yet, 2 of the six bullets hit their mask due to "Aelun"'s franctic pace, with one of them digging into his right side while the other violently worms its way into his right shoulder, disabling his arm there. KILL THEM! REND THEM APART! he shouts, backing off behind his men. Most of whom immediately move to engage with the larger group - four of them head for Reed and Beruka. But the others correctly identify the rest as being a worthwhile target to rush.

The crossbows troops, however, move their weapons to aim at Siffrin. With their reduced speed, it's slightly easier to keep track of them. And they know how to nail speedsters - by aiming ahead of where Siffrin goes, they can riddle them with arrows. And the only reason they don't succeed, or come dangerously close to, is thanks to Captain America and Zeloai below deciding to play defense.

Baz, who would have been rushed into oblivion otherwise, is left gawking in awe at the red and blue shield leaping in front of her, steel swords and spears bouncing off the Adamantium. But they get off relatively easy compared to those that clash with Zeloai's lightsabers. For they'll see their weapons melt off into useless slag, with some having to promptly let go of the ruined steel, else the superheated metal goop drops down their fingers.

The others, however, keep attacking hard. Cap and Zeloai might expose themselves to danger, due to how the soldiers will try to poke around, pushing them around and trying to use their better numbers to circle around the duo and get past their defenses.

Ekaterina adds on, listening to Zeloai's instructions. She deflects a soldier who tried to run around the Jedi and Cap, their clashing swords sending sparks flying. She isn't much next to the super soldier with an invincible shield or the Jedi, but she stands tall all the same, holding her sword two-handed. They're an united front - and the sight of it seems to stun Matthew, who's amongst the members of the group being shielded from harm at the moment.

R-right! Baz raises her blaster and shoot at the crossbow wielders. If it hadn't been for Cap and Zeloai, she'd have needed to defend herself OR would have been taken down already. But she's able to focus on shooting, acting calmly under the pressure and cleanly shooting down the crossbowmen, necessitating about seven shots, attempting to disable one arm for each as priority and aiming for the torso next. It doesn't kill them but it take them down.

And due to Ekaterina being there, Baz even turns her gun on her attackers, shooting the closest one in the head right as he readies another shot and turning his entire face charred. That said, and as she prepares to perform another kill, her blaster clicks. Kriff! One second! I've got to recharge!

11 SOLDIERS LEFT

"You won't need to!" Matthew raises his assault rifle and fire three bursts using it, capping three more soldiers in the head. "I-I've got to justify you guys saving my ass again and again!" He says, Baz smiling as she slips some ammo from her blaster from her pocket and slid it into her gun. Teamwork made the dream work!

8 SOLDIERS LEFT

And in the back, one particular soldier, preparing to return to his master so they can figure out a way around the blockade, freezes dead in his tracks, his face appearing surprised for a few seconds before it becomes completly lifeless. He drops down on the floor, with a bloody wound on his back.

7 SOLDIERS LEFT

The medieval troops start backing off, seeing that they aren't going to be able to get to the gunners. But they don't all return to their distant leader in time - Reed, who had been concealing his pistol under his sleeve the whole time, shoot one of the four approaching soldiers on his head in the head. And as the other three rush him, he put his weapon aside and hold his arms out, letting their weapon dig into his skin... to clang past his subdermal armor, which is powerful enough that the steel bounce off it.

Gorilla arms capable of punching through metal then wraps around the necks of two of the three soldiers, with Reed lunging their way to grab them. He prepares hitting the third one with a kick, but the trained soldier barely steps out of the way in time, sword held up to punish Reed's overconfidence. But luckily for Reed, Beruka is swifter than both, swinging her axe at the soldier's face, cleaving it in two as blood explodes forth from the facial wound, splattering unto Beruka and the side of the car.

3 SOLDIERS LEFT

Good work. Reed snaps the necks of his two victims and drops their bodies unto the floor. Now, we just got to find a way around that-

Fucking giant dragon! Rick mumbles, at first uncaring that Totem is near him. Did he misgender that fucking Wumblr goblin or something? God fucking damn it! As Ricks speaks, "Aelun"'s dragon indeed decide to join the fray, the sight of it stopping Baz or Matthew from just trying to shoot it to death. They knew that the soldiers wouldn't risk their dragon light the car on fire, to preserve their food and other supplies, but they were now hoping that the leader wasn't going to reassess his options in light of how many of his men had died or been taken down.

His dragon was a great yet sickly beast - one that wasn't as fed as it should be, by all amounts, with small holes in its great wings, a few missing scales, bloodshot eyes and yellowed teeth, with bits of bones and blood still stuck between them. One of its claws had been snapped off, while the others had caked blood and rust all over them. But yet, it carried itself with strength. And the ground shook as it stood up, flames igniting within its throat and leaking out from between its teeth.

It it wanted to, it could set the road on fire. Yet its gaze sharply turned towards...

... Siffrin.

Kill that little freak first! The leader says, pointing at the part of the forest where Siffrin had fled first. And the dragon is happy to oblige, needing very little time to simply lean its head forward and fire an unending gout of flames, its roar overshadowed by the intensity of the blazes that soared just over the group's head, illuminating their entire surroundings as the flame stampede incinerated the trees in its wake, attempting to catch and entirely incinerate Siffrin.

The blast goes far behind Siffrin, starting an earnest fire a little distance away from the group as the blazing sea spreads further and further. Baz yelps as she throws herself to the ground, same for Matthew, both trying to avoid the flame after mistakenly thinking they were aimed at them. Ekaterina, Reed and Beruka, though, stand tall, completly unbothered.

Yet, once its done, the creature retch and leans back, as if hurt by its own blast. Not helped by the frenzied way it claws at its throat, as if trying to open up a pathway for the pain to ride out of.

Surrender now! The leader hiss, glancing at the car, and very quickly readjusting if he wanted to incinerate the food or not. Do you realize who you're defending?! Give her up now and you'll become my most elite soldiers! You will all enjoy prosperity within my walls! Think about it! Where are you even going?! What could be motivating you to continue living in agony within this land?! Give her away to me at once!

The flaming trees behind the group pass on their cursed flame to the others. Very soon, very very soon, the flames will spread to surround the group.

No!! Never! Baz yells back, somewhat defiantly. She glances at the dragon, then at the car - even if they jump in, it's in the way. It'll need to be taken out of the way somehow. Although a skillfull driver or one with supernatural sight could maybe try pulling off such a manoeuver. Yet, once again, perhaps the power of teamwork and cooperation could overpower the mountain of scales standing in the group's way.

The remaining soldiers crowd around their leader.

Holy shit they're going to pick a fight again, aren't they?! Rick reach into his pocket. Glancing back at Totem, and moving with deceitful speed for an old man, he try stabbing him in the shoulder with a syringe loaded with a blue liquid, said liquid having black dots over its surface. Once injected, Casper's wounds will heal, as will his exhaustion.

And if he has good perception, he'll see two of the same vials in a pocket within Rick's coat.

Turn into a huge fucking monster again or something and bail us out! Rick yells.

Casper won't be the only one with something of a buff. Zeloai will feel the Force connect with him, blessing him with power and cunning. Any action he'll take this round, he'll be able to perform with greater efficiency and power than before. So long as they're taken this round.

Captain America! What should we do?! Whatever it is, we'll help you! Baz says, clearly thankful at him and Zeloai for helping out. Ekaterina stares at them too, along with Reed, both apparently trusting them with knowing what to do next... Though they'll still take their own decisions if pressed.

Hollow Rock

Elizabeth did indeed give a signal, namely waiting for the coast to be clear before emerging and knocking on the door.

"The coast is clear." she's say through it.

At Riley's outburst she opted to explain.

"One of those... creatures spoke." she said, looking troubled by that fact. "It looked at the lockers we hid in and said something about 'they know the game'. Makes me worry they knew all along we were there but ignored us for some reason."

Then they were confronted by odd shapes. Not having a flashlight herself, she'd instead point them out to the others whilst Harvey tried to get a hint of their smell or shape with his better night vision.

Mm yes they get on the helicopter once more.

"So why is it called Sapphire Star Island?" Yumemi opts to ask conversationally.

The Wrong End

"Wh-"

FWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH

Siffrin, having reduced speed, isn't able to avoid the massive fucking surge of fire coming right for them.

Their charred corpse falls to the ground.

(not yet)

(get back on the stage, Siffrin)

(start again)

Siffrin's body floats up slightly, catching aflame once more- though the flames seemed to be rewinding, leaving healthy flesh and unburnt clothes where a corpse once was, aside from a small spot of blood staining a part of Siffrin's cloak, around the upper torso area. Once it's done, Siffrin is standing, alive once more- though it seems the aftershock of the pain still remains. Aelun's gaze is turned from Siffrin...

(haha)

(were you anyone else you really would be dead)

(you hate it, really)

(dying hurts)

(so let's give him a taste)

Siffrin grips their dagger tightly, forming a scissors sign with their free hand.

(just kill him already)

Then, they lash out as hard as they can, the sheer gust formed from their blade causing the fire on the nearby trees to flicker as they send a blade of air right for Aelun's throat.

Croque pulled herself out of the fabrication pod with a small groan, slowly adapting to the different power and mobility styles this shell had. She checked her satellites- noticing how yes, the current kaiju threat was... still an issue. But that's why she made this shell.

A drone swooped down to pick her up, a small ship automatically flying into line with them as Croque is deposited inside. Once it's clear of the superstructure, it activates the main thrusters and MIRAGE drive as it speeds back towards the Arena proper.

Somewhere In The Sky - Transit to Sapphire Star Island

The people in the helicopter might hear the rumbling of jet engines as Croque's ship comes into view, slowing down and switching to its lower-powered Gravity Drive as it falls into line. Her voice crackles in over whatever comms people may have- if any.

"This is Croque, responding to the research request... a bit late, I suppose. Shell fabrication isn't instant."

The Wrong End

Ok, light panic time. He paced back and forth as Siffrin and the others went to work, looking to Rick with mild annoyance. That's when he is suddenly injected with whatever concoction he had in his pockets, and Casper's eyes go alert. He looks back to Rick with his neck doing a full 180, at first shocked before realizing-

"Actually, you just gave me a plan."

He runs till he has visual of Ekaterina and Matthew, shouting to them as he looks back at them with an excited, Cheshire grin.

Which with his manic posture being illuminated by the fire... wasn't a settling image to behold.

"Make as much noise for the dragon! That's their golden ticket! I have... an idea! But I can't do it if the dragon isn't focused on something else." That's when the mist fully conceals him, and there is silence for a bit. Than...

The creaking and groaning of a tree amidst howling wind.

For one of the remaining warriors, they would feel something grab at them with a hand of gnarled bark, and begin to drag them to a intimidating shadow amidst the flames. Actually.. what that? Since when was that tree there-

The foliage unfurled itself to be a cloak of a tall, plague doctor faced-humanoid tree, with limbs too long for its own good as it had to crane over to look down at the man with white pale-moon orbs for eyes.

"𝐼 𝒶𝓂 𝒟𝑜𝒸𝓉𝑜𝓇 𝐻𝒶𝓇𝓉𝒽𝑜𝓇𝓃. 𝐼 𝓃𝑒𝑒𝒹 𝓈𝑜𝓂𝑒 𝑜𝒻 𝓎𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝒸𝒶𝓁𝑜𝓇𝒾𝑒𝓈 𝓉𝑜 𝓃𝑜𝓉 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝓎𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝒻𝓇𝒾𝑒𝓃𝒹. 𝒟𝑜𝓃'𝓉 𝓌𝑜𝓇𝓇𝓎, 𝒾𝓉 𝒾𝓈 𝓃𝑜𝓃 𝒻𝒶𝓉𝒶𝓁. 𝒥𝓊𝓈𝓉 𝓇𝑒𝓂𝑒𝓂𝒷𝑒𝓇 𝓉𝑜 𝒹𝓇𝒾𝓃𝓀 𝓅𝓁𝑒𝓃𝓉𝓎 𝑜𝒻 𝒻𝓇𝓊𝒾𝓉 𝒿𝓊𝒾𝒸𝑒 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝑒𝒶𝓉 𝓅𝓁𝑒𝓃𝓉𝓎 𝑜𝒻 𝒸𝒶𝓇𝒷𝓈 𝒶𝒻𝓉𝑒𝓇 𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓈. 𝒟𝑜 𝓃𝑜𝓉 𝓇𝑒𝓈𝒾𝓈𝓉. 𝐼𝓉 𝒸𝑜𝓊𝓁𝒹 𝒾𝓃𝒿𝓊𝓇𝑒 𝓎𝑜𝓊."

A massive syringe like branch shot out of his wrist and hit around the warrior's forearm, taking a liter of blood from the man as Harthorn concealed the two in his cloak of leaves, muffling the screams. He would set the exhausted man on the ground, looking to rick with a blank, but calculating expression.

"𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝒷𝓁𝑜𝑜𝒹 𝒾𝓈 𝓃𝑒𝒸𝑒𝓈𝓈𝒶𝓇𝓎 𝒻𝑜𝓇 𝓂𝑒 𝓉𝑜 𝓉𝓇𝒶𝓃𝓆𝓊𝒾𝓁𝒾𝓏𝑒 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒹𝓇𝒶𝑔𝑜𝓃... 𝒯𝒽𝑜𝓊𝑔𝒽 𝐼 𝒾𝓂𝒶𝑔𝒾𝓃𝑒 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒻𝒶𝒸𝓉 𝐼 𝒶𝓂 𝓃𝑜𝓉 𝓅𝑒𝓇𝓂𝒶𝓃𝑒𝓃𝓉𝓁𝓎 𝓅𝓊𝓉𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒾𝓉 𝓉𝑜 𝓈𝓁𝑒𝑒𝓅 𝒾𝓈 𝓊𝓅𝓈𝑒𝓉𝓉𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒻𝑜𝓇 𝓈𝑜𝓂𝑒 𝑜𝒻 𝓎𝑜𝓊. 𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝒸𝒶𝓁𝑜𝓇𝒾𝑒𝓈 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝓅𝓇𝑜𝓉𝑒𝒾𝓃𝓈 𝓌𝒾𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃 𝓂𝓎 𝓈𝒶𝓂𝓅𝓁𝑒 𝓌𝒾𝓁𝓁 𝒽𝑒𝓁𝓅 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒹𝓇𝒶𝑔𝑜𝓃 𝓈𝒶𝒻𝑒𝓁𝓎 𝓂𝑒𝓉𝒶𝒷𝑜𝓁𝒾𝓏𝑒 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓈𝑒𝒹𝒶𝓉𝒾𝓋𝑒, 𝓈𝑜 𝓌𝑒 𝒸𝒶𝓃 𝑒𝓈𝒸𝒶𝓅𝑒 𝒾𝓃𝓉𝒶𝒸𝓉."

With that he'd suddenly cloak himself again, and uncannily move across the field with some surprising grace. Anytime an enemy would turn to him, he'd lay flat on the ground, or act like a tree with his cloak. Until he would be close enough to the dragon to inject it with a torrent of depressant sap, Harthorn towering within the dragon's shadow.

"You won't win with your mind hung up on inner conflict!"

He turns off his Z-Saber, letting Wrustoiz gouge into his other shoulder and waist...but then reaches out with his free hand and forces the lightsabers away. Not by touching them or directly exerting control, but by projecting a fine, controlled field of energy from his palm, like a compact barrier.

"What are you feeling most strongly right now? That's what you need to tap into. Anger isn't the only emotion that grants strength."

He raises a hand into the air. A magic orb builds up over his head, then in a flash, a new hammer appears for the king to grasp. Its hilt is striped pink and white like a barbershop poll, and its head is ornate and golden, emblazoned with a star.

He has summoned the Star Rod Hammer Dedede Custom. A weapon of light to banish the darkness.

History of Dedede

Lifting the hammer up in both hands, Dedede conjures sparkling orbs of light that arc backwards, then around himself and down to bombard Baltaos.

Seeing this, Perceval backs off to protect Luin.

Culex

Ringabel is angered by Culex focusing all his fire on Dark Star. The silver lining is, it gives him a chance to use a major HP-sacrificing move without risk of it coming back to bite him.

With Dark Bane, he calls forth dark energy from his own lifeforce and channels it into his Dharkon-shard sword, then slashes at the Wind Crystal.

Meanwhile on the enemy side, 'Unblockable' means the Fire Saber melts straight through the Ice Rock and keeps going almost completely unaffected, though at least the Ice Rock attack was stopped.

Again, none of the enemies have any visible battle damage, even after Dark Star's spectacular attack that ends up engulfing them all.

Content with Dark Star's excuse, Culex casts Flame Stone, dropping a fiery stone on Filia's head like a meteor.

The Fire Crystal casts Flame Wall again, trying to engulf the party in fire.

The Water Crystal casts Crystal, dropping three chunks of ice on B-Zoner.

The Earth Crystal casts Blast on Dark Star again.

The Wind Crystal doesn't look damaged, but it feels like it's the closest of them all to breaking. It shoots a Light Bubble at the party, a literal orb of light that pops when it reaches them, dealing minor damage but having a chance to inflict sleep status.

As the sandstorms part for the shikigami's wrath, Yuta's punch strikes Kurt Zisa's barrier, making it shimmer but seemingly doing nothing else.

Then Gojo's Red hits and instantly shatters it, once again leaving the towering Heartless downed, prone, and vulnerable as the gemstone appears in its mouth. It tries to swing its head at its foes to keep them at bay.

Hollows

The Door:

Reports were made on a remote, but inhabited key of Islands off the coast of tropique of a strange door that had seemingly appeared. It had appeared after a freak typhoon, and the condition of many on the island was not in the fairest state. Researchers had concluded that while a few had died on the island, the sudden appearance meant all those at sea, had met with a 0% chance of survival. Nagadilotep had been contacted, but he denied any relation to the typhoon and him.

The door had been discovered, most alarmingly so, on top a spiraling staircase, that led to a piece of presumably a second floor. The elevator had yet to open, but it was clear that there was some space behind the door. And that the forest life itself had dared not touch it. It seemed out of place yes, but it bore no marks of damage from the storm. Meaning it hadn't just been cleanly ripped from a ship, or building on the island.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stair_case_and_elevator.jpg

Due to issues going on in Lourent, Hub Centralis, and Greenskin activity in the outskirts, no one had deemed the arrival of this anomaly to be of concern.

The Wrong End - Zeloai

Zeloai's focus remained solely on the defense of his compatriots, still admonishing the fact no one had even attempted diplomacy. Twirling his blade high, Zeloai adjusted focus to defend himself for just a few moments as he was surrounded briefly, using his double-bladed lightsaber like a dual-edged spear to thrust forward and either impale the soldiers or create enough of a gap for the marksmen of this group to land good hits. He was impressed at Baz's keen shot, most Imperial officers are of a more tactical mind, or so Zeloai believed.

As he began to backpedal, Zeloai turned his attention to Reed, eyes widening as it appeared for a moment he'd been overwhelmed until the man revealed his cybernetics. Taking a deep sigh of relief, Zeloai is immediately reminded of the massive dragon by Rick's crass language, settling his gaze upon its sickened body while it flies onto the field.

Gritting his teeth, Zeloai can't abandon his defensive position, especially now. He glances sympathetically at Siffrin, turning away as they're incinerated. The Jedi Master's gaze settled upon the dragon, and it is during this elongated stare the Force surged within him. Zeloai's keen ears picked up on Totem's declaration of a plan. While the others could perhaps prove a sufficient distraction, Zeloai is not one to wait around.

Suddenly plunging his lightsaber into the firm ground, Zeloai enhances his speed to carve the shape of a boulder-sized circle in the dirt, paying close attention to Totem as he draws closer. Leaping high into the air, Zeloai sheathed his saberstaff and with a strenuous grunt, lifted a massive chunk of dirt and rock out of the ground with the Force, holding it together.

The massive chunk suddenly careened upward in an arc, appearing to smash into Zeloai for a moment as it flew higher and higher. Gravity, or perhaps the Force suddenly kicked in, changing trajectory to head straight for the massive reptile's face. Even if the improvised boulder missed, Zeloai would appear on the top end just before impact, attempting to leap onto the dragon, activating his lightsaber mid-air!

Culex

Filia leaps backward, her gaze darting to the various crystals as their attacks compound, forcing innumerable projectiles down the party's throats. Not that he was the kind of man to joke, but it felt like Narktus had underinformed the demoness of this opponent's strength. Filia's first instinct is to continue counteracting the gems, settling her gaze upon the ice chunks headed for B-Zoner. Filia pushes an open palm forward as she lands, swiping it sideways with an exaggerated motion to rid B-Zoner of the three chunks by tossing them into the encroaching firewall.

Looking up at the meteor, Filia's eyes crackled with lightning, but it was too late. The demoness proved incapable of firing before the meteor smashed into her, flattening her against the floor of this unending void. Dazed yet rageful, Filia expels lightning from her chest, splitting the rock into pebbles. Planting a hand onto the ground, Filia rises to her feet, stumbling backward into the approaching wall of flame. The singing burn prompts a subconscious reaction as a wave of cold is expelled, creating a sizeable hole in the party-wide wall.

Shouting an incomprehensible mess of expletives to cope with the pain, Filia's ears wiggle at the high-pitched shimmering of the approaching orb, a controlled burst of lightning erupting from her ear to smash into it before impact. The explosive force still added to Filia's dazed state, stifling her recovery efforts. Stumbling again, a spear made of ice erupts from the void in her path, and Filia grasps it, leaning on it like a walking stick. Taking a deep breath, Filia raises the spear, lightning crackling from her hand.

The two elements intermingle once more, a surge of thunderous power invading the ice spear and cracking it, Filia's construct barely able to hold itself together. Settling her narrowed gaze upon the Wind Crystal, Filia stumbles forward and tosses this spear at it with all her might.

Wrustoiz

ViA pointed out plainly what Wrustoiz had been attempting to hide for months, and being called out so effortlessly, much less in front of an ally gives Wrustoiz precisely the fuel he needs to continue along his monotonous path of rage.

   "Rage is a Sith's STRENGTH!"

The Sith Lord shouted as he whipped around, striking at ViA with revitalized strength and speed he had not yet demonstrated in the bout thus far. Yet this was a temporary boost at best, and if ViA were perceptive enough to take notice of Wrustoiz's adled mind, he'd take notice of that too.

BSIL - Rustbucket

Rustbucket eats metal as the Schild successfully strikes the hulking Gundam in the face, the echoing clang of metal rocking the pilot within. The head of Rustbucket now has a clear dent on it, and rust cascades from the Gundam onto the Schild's face like dandruff. Intent on returning the favor, Rustbucket raises its non-blade arm and attempts to hammer fist the chest of the Graze Schild over and over until the pilot within was either brain-damaged or dead.

Assuming that's where the pilot was, of course.

His hair explodes out into numerous waves, impossibly long compared to the ponytail he had it in while his helmet was on. His shadowy face glitches, then fades away, revealing his true, humanlike face, with blazing golden eyes.

"Then a Sith isn't strong enough."

The same subtle dark energy he's been harboring explodes outward, becoming a glitchy Battle Aura with a Chunky Updraft and a pair of wings made from evil red Hard Light. His armor changed, too, hidden in the explosion of energy. Among other changes, it sports gold-and-red bands, and his shoulders now sport large and angular plates instead of being simple spheres.

"ViA, are you really going all-out for this spar?!" RiCO exclaims.

"I think our friend here needs to learn a valuable lesson about his limits."

Behold, ViA■ (or ViA -square-).

X vs. Zero -DiVE Ver.-

He grins and spreads his arms, inviting Wrustoiz to attack.

Hollows

The one in question is Android 17. He picked up word of it from local researchers and decided to investigate on his own.

As he comes up to the top of the stairs, he brushes his smooth black hair out of his face and gets to inspecting. Are there any buttons? Any mechanism by which to open the door?

SLAY THE PRINCESS

Neuff cracks her neck and wipe her hands, glad that, so far, her strength wasn't failing her. She was definitely in the middle of something not-simple, so still being able to just overpower her problems was, if anything, reassuring. Kind of like being stuck somewhere remote but smashing the lock open instead of having to look for a key, you know?

Still, she doubted she could just punch up everything. She just hoped that throwing her weight around a bit would get the others to settle down. And then maybe one of them would get a hint or clue as to what to do next. Though Neuff's idea, if they didn't (she assumed they wouldn't) was simple

she-

The princess's cold words don't take superhuman hearing to hear. And Neuff raises her foot to put it under the princess's, putting her hands in her pockets and all to simulate nonchalance. Tall order, I know, but I'm going to have to ask you not to do it.

She try nudging the princess back by lifting her foot.

Look, I don't think this guy just happened to wake up wanting to find and kill a chained princess in a cave. He wasn't that unreasonable a minute ago. There's a third party monitoring this, I think, and them, you can stomp on their neck if you want, alright?

Wrustoiz

Immense satisfaction rushes through Wrustoiz as his strike slashes through ViA, a feeling of vindication in his deep-seated anger. The Sith Lord huffs, his eyes wide with the surge of adrenaline. Smiling, Wrustoiz's surprise at his opponent's strange transformation dulls the Sith Lord's high.

Wrustoiz pauses, lowering his lightsabers to observe ViA. Taking a few steps back, Wrustoiz continued huffing. Like a bull, Wrustoiz is set off once again by ViA's 'overconfidence', rushing forward with a furious shout. The Sith Lord lunged forward with a series of wide, controlled strikes. To his credit, Wrustoiz was certainly getting stronger as this bout continued, but he'd soon hit the wall he was not yet ready to topple.

Wanda kisses Ninten on the forehead before giving him another hug.

"I know. Just let us handle it with you next time, okay?"

-

Pietro shakes his head.

"No, no, I was just wondering. Pseudo's not the type of guy who'd go for plans that involve sacrificing people, so hearing that he's actually considering this just had me worried something might be affecting him."

-

Sylvie offers Pilly an appreciative little smile.

"More eyes would make it easier to find that elusive little bugger," she replies, reaching out and patting her on the head.

-

Thor holds up his Gummiphone for Umbra to see.

"Impossible. These are supposed to be able to function just about anywhere. I would have heard it go off if he'd tried to call me."

He returns the phone to his pocket before letting out a sigh.

"As for the Divine Guardians, well, they ignore the prayers of even those who desperately need their aid, consequences be damned, and don't care about who Mara hurts or the havoc she delights in wreaking. They'd rather coddle her and turn a blind eye to her victims' suffering, to their own peoples' suffering in general, really," Thor says. "If the Great Light truly felt sorry for Claus and Lucas' plight at her hands, they would have done everything they could to derail that sadist's twisted plan long before Lucas had been corrupted to the point that death was the only way to save him. Like I said, they aren't noble heroes, they're gods with agendas of their own."

"And what if this is the only chance anyone will ever have to slay Mara for all she's done? Suppose this incredibly risky proposal of yours is somehow both approved of and successful, and in the process, it turns out you've just ensured that Lady Maximoff and anybody else who has a score to settle with her will no longer be able to confront her again," Loki counters. "You might as well just forgive Mara for her actions and offer her membership for your group at that point."

He twirls a dagger in his hand.

"So, assuming it's still up for debate and provided Pseudo is willing to listen, I would like to object to this plan."

Thor nods in agreement.

"As would I. Mara doesn't get to just slither off unpunished."

G.E.M. HQ

Ninten nods.

"... Wanda... is it bad if I still feel angry enough with Claus that I can't just... y'know, forgive and forget?", he asks, wanting her opinion on it. He doesn't look happy that he feels that way, but you can't just turn how you feel off.

"Ah, good. I was worried for a moment. But rest assured, if something was affecting him, one of us would have definitely noticed.", Axonn says.

"Now, to fall back on my question, do you want me to ask the others to see where Claus is?"

"Yes please. That'd save us a lot of searching. This base is pretty big.", Lucas says. Axonn nods and takes out a communicator of his own. Due to his large hands he has trouble pressing the buttons though, so Lucas quickly helps him out. He then looks at Pietro as Axonn begins to make a call.

"I know we probably have nothing to worry about, but the more I think about it, the more I have this anxious feeling in my chest, as if something's really wrong."

As Pilly's head gets patted, she giggles and calls for Pseudo.

"Hey, Pseudo? Yeah, uh... could you keep an eye out for that funny-looking bird? It's out on its own somewhere apparently."

"Really? That makes two then. Helryx just got a call from Axonn, apparently Claus is missing too.", he responds. Pilly has it on speaker, so Sylvie will be able to hear him too.

"Claus is missing?", Pilly asks, looking concerned.

"Well, he may be in the base somewhere, but they don't know for sure. We'll keep an eye out for both."

"Where in the base are you two right now?"

"An office in the back. The computers all seem to be here, we're planning on refurbishing this room into a monitor room for this base. There are security cameras here, we'll use them to look through the base. I'll tell you when we've looked."

"Okay."

Umbra looks it over for a moment.

"... maybe you were in a call already? These 'phone' things can only take one call at a time, right?", he guesses. So maybe it was when King P was calling?

Regardless, he listens to the Odinsons grievances with the plan, and afterwards looks to the hall on his left and gestures to it.

"Pseudo Porky and Toa Helryx are in a computer room near the back. You have a chance to bring this up with them in person, because Mara seems to be a crafty one, she may be able to slip through our fingers if we don't plan for it beforehand."

" I guess we should go do that then.", Iris says, smiling as she looks at Thor and Loki.

" I don't really know them that well, but it sounds like they're reasonable people, at least when I hear how you talk about them. Even if they still wanna go through with it, maybe they'll create back-up plans to ensure we can give Mara her just desserts, like he just said."

"As for the Divine Guardians-", Umbra speaks up, causing Iris to look at him again too.

"Sometimes there are circumstances in which it's not possible to provide any direct aid. I'm not trying to excuse anything, should your claims all be correct... but this Great Light is supposed to come back to the Arena at some point, right? When that happens, I suggest you talk before you accuse, just in case. As for the concept of heroes..."

He narrows his eyes, but not in any angry or disdainful way, but more in a 'this is gonna be tough to say aloud' kind of way.

"The Great Spirit of Mata Nui... rarely if ever intervened with the happenings of our world. But that does not make Him a bad person. We've met Him here before, and he is every bit as noble and caring as we assumed Him to be. Perhaps... even beings as mighty as Him or them aren't capable of solving every issue in the world. I'm certain there are many Great Spirits from other worlds out there who are every bit as foul as you say they are, like Mara. But... please do not blind yourself to the reality that not everything is black and white like that."

He nods.

"I will leave you be now. Please keep my words in mind."

He zips off in a burst of light. By the time they'll have registered that he left, there's already no traces of him left. Iris looks impressed, that's the fastest she's ever seen anything go ever.

The Wrong End

The Veldt

As the battle flares on, it has caught the attention of a certain eagle-eyed individual within the forest. Something they initially paid little attention to until flames started to spread through the forest.

They climb into a tree rapidly and let out a warning howl that rings throughout the area once at the very top. It sounds young and piercing, but also still booming and powerful.

And as if on command, something starts charging through the forest, through the flames, going right for the battlefield. They who stood on top of the tree jump down and land on the other's back, hitching a ride towards the battlefield.

And on the battlefield, they will all be able to see the ENORMOUS green lion leaping out of the burning forest, landing near 'Aelun', his dragon and the soldiers, snarling with clear killing intent in his rumbling voice.

"I have tolerated your presence and actions around this area for long enough. I care not for who you or they are, but burning down our sole safe haven is UNACCEPTABLE!", Soan roars.

... 'our'?

A small figure then leaps off of Soan's back and lands in front of him, shouting while in mid-air.

"GAAAAUUUUUUU!!!"

The boy lands on his hand, knee and foot, taking on a primal stance. He looks so incredibly small compared to Soan, not even coming up to its chin with his current stance. Still, he looks just as ready to fight as the behemoth of a lion.

Before 'Aelun' even has a moments' time to potentially mock the feral boy, Gau suddenly leaps straight at him and, if he manages to reach him, will glow for a moment before unleashing a quaking strike that, if it connects, will make 'Aelun' feel as if he were standing in the middle of an earthquake.

Soan, meanwhile, tries to use the dragon's potential distraction (from all the sound) to his advantage, slashing at the ground to send burning sticks and rocks flying towards it, aiming to hit it from afar. After all, Beast Laguz are weak to fire, it would be foolish to go into close combat right away.

Neither of them have any clue about the parties' situations or alignments, but the fact that the dragon is the source of the flames and it's clearly with 'Aelun' and the remaining three soldiers is reason enough for them to choose them as their opponents.

As for the other people present... they'd have to discern what their deal is after they've dealt with this situation.

Denji

Ah, someone else who can eat her weight in food! Most people could be put off by that but Denji doesn't mind, though he doesn't show it. He knows that you shouldn't talk when eating. And that make sense - coz you eat with your mouth. But you also speak with your mouth. But you can't do both, it's slurred. That's kind of obvious - not that it stopped Denji from looking up, munching on some molten cheese and nodding appopriately.

As he speaks, he spat out bits of saliva-covered mozzarela, flicking it across the wooden table like glorious cheese missiles.

itch gud

He goes back to eating, grabbing a bit of pizza and shoving it down his throat, letting the molten tomato explode into his mouth like a crimson geyser. Crimson and gold soon become the same indistinct grey mass as he chews and chews and chews, swallowing the eventual pitiful result down his throat to begin a long, painful journey into becoming literal-

sticky Denji grabs some water and chogs it down his throat. As he put the drink back on the table, icky little bits of pizza are left floating in the glass as Denji wipes his nose.

Wrustoiz

That 'soon' is more like 'right now', because the leap in power from ViA's base form to ■ is so vast, Wrustoiz stands no chance of catching up.

ViA■ dashes back and out of Wrustoiz's reach, then dashes back in.

   "Take this!"

As he dashes in, he unleashes an onslaught of slashes, so fast he seems to have afterimages doing the striking for him. His attack is accompanied by lines of hexadecimal code scrolling through the air. The slashes gouge into Wrustoiz's armor, but out of all of them, only one draws blood, one angled upward to slice across his face.

The only reason he wasn't diced to bits is because ViA■ still held back.

Slay The Princess

The Princess heeds BE!Neuff's words, and her face softens.

"He's clearly not in control of himself, and that third party will keep throwing him at us. This is for the best."

  • "Do it."

Voice of the Hero: Wait, what?
The Narrator: I only wish you would live to regret that. The Princess's leg shoots forth like a meteor, caving in your chest.
The Narrator: Everything goes dark, and you die.

Before BE!Neuff can protest this outcome, a strange darkness consumes everything around her. It's not pitch blackness, more of a very very dark beige with a sketchy pattern of black running through it.

Chapter II - The Warrior

Then it peels away, and she's on the path in the woods. Right next to Quiet. Notably, the trees now bear carvings of some kind of emblem, and some branches have been split as if by weapons.

The Narrator: You're on a path in the woods. And at the end of that path is a cabin. And in the basement of that cabin is a princess.
The Narrator: You're here to slay her. If you don't, it will be the end of the world.

No, she can't hear the Narrator now.

Voice of the Contrarian: Actually, we wanted to save her.
Voice of the Cheated: Yeah, and someone stole that chance away from us!
The Narrator: I have no idea what you're talking about, but I'm certain it was for a good reason. You're getting a second chance. Don't mess this up.

Quiet turns to Neuff.

  • (Explore) "What did you see when I...y'know?"

He mimes slicing his own throat.

The Hollows

Android 17 experimentally presses 1, then sees what lies beyond.

He steps into the hallway and begins calmly walking toward the expanse, not yet crossing the threshold completely.

"So... take all the time you need until you feel prepared enough to have that talk. Just don't treat him so coldly when you see him again, okay? I'm sure he's every bit as angry at himself as you are at him."

-

Pietro answers Lucas with a simple nod.

"If you're right, well... Did you and Claus piss off some all-powerful cosmic being at some point? I swear, it's like the freaking universe just gets off on torturing you boys for some sick reason," he says.

-

Sylvie raises an eyebrow.

"Pseudo's here already? It's like you brought every member of your bloody group here."

-

Before either of the Odinsons can say anything further, Umbra suddenly leaves before they can so much as open their mouths.

"Let's just see if we can't persuade Pseudo not to go forward with this ludicrous plan."

"He ought to consider himself extremely fortunate that she hasn't received this news."

Ninten glances away, looking down at the ground... but he looks back again and nods, as if trying to show he's not just saying things, he means it.

"I'll do my best. ... let's go check up on Ken. I'm also worried about him and I wanna see that he's alright."

Once they'll move to leave the cafeteria, Ninten and Wanda will run into Lloyd, Ana and Teddy, who were still waiting there. Ninten's startled.

"W-wha? Guys? You're already... is Pseudo already here?"

"Yep.", Teddy says.

Beat

"... h... how long have you, uh...", Ninten awkwardly asks.

"Long enough to realize you're finally talking about what happened. You should do it at your own pace, but you owe a good amount of people an explanation.", Lloyd says.

"Like me, and Pippi, and Giegue, and your mom and sisters, and your other friends here-", Ana counts with her fingers while slightly smirking.

"Okay, I get it.", Ninten says, though he's smiling just a little. "But first I should check up on Ken. He's a kid who got hurt and-"

"A kid got hurt!?", Ana asks in shock.

"Then we gotta go, let's go!", Lloyd says. They both pull onto Ninten's jacket to make him move, and the three are off before Teddy and Wanda even have a chance to. Teddy chuckles a bit at their antics, then looks back at Wanda.

"... he, uh... told you at least about what happened I'm guessing?", he asks, somewhat awkwardly. And it's clear why, it was his old gang that did this to him. He has to feel incredibly guilty about them hurting his little buddy like that. He's probably expecting for Wanda to blame him, and he doesn't look like he's planning on rebuking any such claims if she makes them.

"I dunno, but if Mara's behind this too, I'm gonna find a way to summon the Dark Dragon again so that it can destroy her instantly.", Lucas says, anxious and angry at the thought.

"I mean... I dunno if it can, but it can destroy the world, so it's gotta be stronger than Mara, right?"

Axonn looks back at the two.

"Pseudo Porky has checked the security cameras. Claus is not present in the base... unless he is in a bathroom, there are no cameras in those."

"I'm pretty sure someone would have seen him by now if he'd only gone to the bathroom.", Lucas says, now feeling more reason to worry.

"He better not have gone for a walk the whole night through. I know he's not gonna be in a good state from what happened last night but he can't worry me like that either!"

"Last night?", Axonn asks.

"Uh... a-an argument with Ninten.", Lucas quickly says. It's not his place to tell Axonn what that was about.

"Not everyone. The Robot Masters are looking after the base.", Pilly smiles.

"No sign of either Claus or that bird in the base, unless either of them are in a bathroom."

"... what would a bird need with a bathroom.", Pilly wonders aloud before snapping out of the ditz, more worried about the Claus thing now.

"Hey, uh, Sylvie. When was the last time you guys saw Claus?"

Loki and Thor will reach the room in no time, and inside are indeed Pseudo and Helryx, the former of which looking somewhat frustrated.

"Why would a structure such as this one not have working security cameras looking to the outside of the base?", he ponders.

"There was that big battle here a while back. Maybe they got damaged but not destroyed so this world did not repair them.", Helryx suggests as an option. Neither of them have taken their eyes off of the screens yet so they don't know Thor and Loki are there.

Estraole

The Arena was full of many upstarts, and would forever be that way. But amidst the mountains, clinging tightly to the rocky peaks that eclipsed the lands below, was a kingdom that was always to be. Looking proudly over it all, upon its highest peaks, was the Khejnate.

Mighty are its many peaked settlements, made from the mountains themselves, arching over valleys and rivers below, casting the shadow of civilization upon the mountains once more.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/khejnate_one.jpg

Flying too and from many roosts installed into the cliff sides and buildings were that of blade-hided wyverns, adorned in cloth and body paint as they soared about the trenches of the earth's spine, roaring to one another in casual, constant chatter. Walking the streets were a load of other beast, wingless manticores with somewhat long necks and either shaven or groomed faces, gossiping to one another as thorn reptilian tails swayed behind them. Walking along selectively made ramps were small diminutive beings, Yordles mostly, though the occasional redcap could be seen carrying goods to and thro. A group of Brackern, those earthen arthropods, could be seen pushing massive pillars into position, as one that resembled an incredibly broad lobster would slowly rear up onto their hind limbs and begin to gently apply some sort of quick drying material onto the tops, of which he seemed to be installing bowl like ceramics atop the pillars. Frost Trolls and Hill Trolls were busy walking the streets, armored and ready for action. Some humans who seemed a little lost would go and try to speak to the trolls, who would, albeit awkwardly, point the humans to the right direction. Yetis chilled amidst the hot springs that had been placed along the outskirts of the western district, sighing in content as they yawned, baring large simian canines before smacking their lips. Plowing some of the fields in the east pastures were colossal theropods that seemed to resemble some odd mix of dodo, terror bird, and tyrannosaur. Yordles and Laitiverns (those blade-hided wyverns) followed behind them as they distributed new seeds in the trenches made into the farm soil, the theropods grumbling to themselves as the wind picked up. Some of those in the north atop observation towers, toothed pterosaur-faced creatures with orangutan like bodies, were hit square in the face, two of them looking to each other with a more skeptical nature.

"I'm thinking 40 to 41 knots."

The other gave him a cotemplative look before putting on a pair of glasses, and taking out a tome to go through its pages, his scholarly tone filled with hesitancy.

"Strong gale storm... That means to be safe to younger fliers we are going to have to ring the grounding bell. It could get stronger"

Which got him a huff of annoyance, as the one who had made the original measurement looked back at their cotemporary with hesitancy in turn.

"Not unheard of, especially up here. I say we wait a good 8 minutes before ringing any bells."

At around 9 minutes the wind had gotten considerably more aggressive, howling amidst the valleys and shrieking between the peaks, and finally the one without glasses closed the windows, which all locked them away from the wind with a sudden thud.

"Yeah... get the bell tollers..."

With little bounce in their knuckle walking gait, the more scholarly of the two would make his way to tell the Bell Tollers of Wyrm's Furnace to send a warning for a whole gale turned violent, and to ground all flights. Which was well timed anyways, the sun having set under the horizon a little already.

As one would realize, the Khejnate was a nation of monsters. The entities one would chase away from their forest and mountains, hunt to the ends of the earth.

But under Veyolkos, the Khejnate acted as safe harbor for those which otherwise could not farm or work as anything other than war beast.

Veyolkos was strong. It allowed him to endear dangerous bargains, maintain power, find love... But it also meant the aftermath of a fight stung something fierce. Deciding to return from a hunting trip during this near storm force gale, no power over the mind could aid the laitivern right now, as the kestrel-patterned wyvern rushed past the doorframe of a small adobe huddle on the south side of the settlement. His arrival rattled hanging beads and charms as he heard a characteristic croaking voice from one of his more humble hot shots at Wyrm's Furnace-

"What raid was it now... you come in here more often than before..."

It was a frost troll, his face hidden behind a plank of wood, decorated and carved to resemble a stylized skull, decorated with sharp horns like handles on the side of its vicious visage. Garnet red was their frazzled mane, and as they approached the panting Laitivern their white eyes darted about to see the problem.

A constant flame was burning over Veyolkos. Thin like a membrane, but the way the Laitivern twitched, he could tell it was a strong magic.

"...Had I still my cold tongue, I'd blow on it... Chaaah! What fun is that?"

The troll snickered as their staff tapped across the stony earth, Veyolkos growling softly. Trying to focus more on maintaining a cool mind than acknowledge the pain, which brought strain in his voice:

"Odedall... I need your skills... with urgency...."

Odedall nodded to him, clicking his tongue beneath his mask as he got a sheepskin of oils and a handful of herbs, and threw them into a stone and wyrm hide cauldron.

"Strong magic that is... and because you are a bit of voodoo yourself... it's clinging well after the caster's ex-pirrr-a-shun..."

A strong accent was laced in the troll's statement, Veyolkos struggling as he sat himself atop a slab of stone, etched in runes and trenches.

"Understand... this act was done to... help the latest kids..."

Odedall paused briefly, looking back at Veyolkos with a sort of, tired visage.

"Everything you do is for the Kejnate, isn't it..."

Veyolkos was quick to interject.

"This Magibeast was a danger towards Skaggorn... I investigated... I fought it... it's flesh is good for the troll kids... it's potent in magic."

Odedall clicked his tongue again, just as he applied some crushed teeth to a mortar, grinding it down with a pestle.

"Trolls not very imaginative on average... but bluntness is shared across the kins... you understand me and Jelbanshe are, outliers yes? So is the Troll King..."

Veyolkos purred in agitation at the burning, exhaling a stygian flame of rolling black clouds, laced with power that crackled like red lightning.

"Your people... hunted by other Frost trolls... Jelbanshe's, by Shurimans. I have to supply the tools to protect them... Magibeast meat... is a good start."

Odedall quickly pricked Veyolkos's back with needles, each one hollow and massive, made from whale bone and having a funnel at the top. Veyolkos groaned, knowing what kind of remedy this would be. His current healer sounded interested by the latest cache.

"I'll have to choose if this meat will do them well... Trolls eat whatever, but if whatever you killed can leave a spell like this?! I'll have to make sure the kids are shaped into Trolls, not monsters..."

He threw dogwood ash onto the runes around Veyolkos's form, the fire burning a bit more intensely as Veyolkos hissed, craning his head up as he groveled.

"I assure you... it's blood tasted like Ursine! It is safe-"

Odedall held up the green bubbling brew up to Veyolkos's snout, causing the king to visibly widen his pupils in disgust.

"What... is..."

"Drink it and stop asking. It's good for your!... Personal health."

Veyolkos grimaced and opened his bill, the troll pouring the concoction down. Veyolkos audibly gagged and for good reason, as the needles in his back began to shriek like a kettle, and flame erupted forth from them, making his form luminous.

Odedall was nearly thrown back, shielding his eyes for a moment as the roof of his premises was being charred. Once it was done however, Veyolkos panted, sitting straight up with a shakiness that made him feel, in that moment, meek. The rituals of their witch doctor were not like that of the other shamans. It was an odd mix of alchemy and faith, one of the reasons Veyolkos had decided that his services could be of use.

Though it was unapologetically trollish, derived from the same ancient train of tradition that led to the modern Bellowers of the Old Ones. Yet this art was far more material.

As Veyolkos regained his strength he lowered his back, allowing the calloused, warted fingers of the frost-troll to pluck the needles out, the Laitivern silent for a moment, to give the doctor the space to retrieve the now cursed needles.

"Our neighbors, still fear us... these hunts, it helps build, trust."

"Shaaaah... they scared of each other, they won't be as generous to us."

Veyolkos knew what he meant, Trolls and human relationships across Runeterra... and other realms... were at best, brief moments of shared interest. And at worse, trophy hunting one-another. Odedall coughed as he dumped the contents of the needles into a cask, idly tapping his foot against the stone.

"Where there is hunger, there are no old goats. Same with war, and heroes... You staked your claim in a very dark time... and now that you don't want to play by their rules... they'll give you hell."

Veyolkos looked out a northerly porthole to the pale moon, even amidst the snow blurred wind its waning visage casted pale light onto the distance, while the mountains drenched their world in darkness.

Veyolkos knew that even the one person he loved, was horrified of what he had accomplished. Those words, they did not sting because the wound was new. They hurt because the wound has never been allowed to heal.

"Tichaaa... Veyolkos, you have that look."

The empathetic teasings of Odedall took him out of his own head, and towards the troll.

"The meat... what Magibeast was it?"

Veyolkos scratched his snout a little, a sign that he had been caught off guard by the question.

"Some odd Caprine creature... humanoid shape but not, like us. A bogey, really."

Odedall nodded to Veyolkos's words, than put his hand on the shoulder of the Laitivern.

"Let me check the meat for... hexes and poxes... and I'll distribute it to the families."

Veyolkos nodded, and the two leaned in for Veyolkos to press his snout against the top of the mask, Odedall patting his arms.

"Now... it is late. Too late for the king to be up."

Veyolkos withdrew from the hug and flexed his scales a little, Odedall holding his hand out. Veyolkos looked to it, Odedall's palm facing the floor as the troll had bowed in reverence. A gentle stroke of the knuckles with Veyolkos's own and the king departed, Odedall walking opposite as well into his own bed chamber.

Once Veyolkos passed the beaded entrance, he spread his wings out and took off towards his roost, silently gliding through the air. He still had some things to share with Vayne... later.

Tropique

Jerrod narrowed his eyes when he saw the Moonlight Greatsword positioned in a way to impale him. Turns out, it's actually kind of hard to track an additional limb even with enhanced senses, especially since Sukuna is a humanoid opponent, which tricked his brain into primarily focusing on his arms and legs. Using the tiny bit of time he had, the Controller preemptively swung his energy blade in order to clash with the magical sword to forcibly halt his own momentum and push himself away from the clash.

The ritual-bearer can almost tell that Sukuna must consider this whole thing a victory of some kind, since he managed to make the man "drop his mask". Jerrod wanted to correct him and say that he never wore one to begin with, but he doesn't want to bother. However, he can't help but scoff at Sukuna's declaration. "Hah, not even I can claim that might is all that's needed to decide right and wrong!" is all he said as he fell towards the web-like technique, recognizing it as a variant of Cleave.

Though, since he managed to bounce away from clashing with the Moonlight Greatsword, Jerrod managed to avoid getting his legs sliced off by the devastating technique due to how quickly the ground is split into pieces and the extra bit of time he took to fall. As soon as he landed on a piece of debris, Jerrod dismissed his gauntlet and suddenly transformed his left hand into an energy blade before started to rapidly stabbing and slicing the air around him as he rapidly dashed between chunks of the ground to hide himself.

A confusing sight for sure, but Sukuna would be understand what's going on once he detects a lot of things getting right into his vicinity, assuming he's still focusing on his enhanced senses. These things would be the very energy blades on Jerrod's arm, which are somehow repeatedly manifesting themselves near Sukuna to attack him. What's actually happening is that Jerrod took a page out of Hong Lu's book by stabbing the air with his dimension-rending blades to create small tears in space to send the blades to a location very close to Sukuna in order to rapidly thrust into and tear at his flesh, intending to capitalize on the battlefield advantage Sukuna created for him.

Heh, there's no rule saying that I have to get close to engage in melee combat with you!

Though, it wouldn't be hard for Sukuna to understand the mechanism behind this attack, since they can be observed up close (but taking time to do so would be dangerous since, you know, the blades are out to stab him) and he can likely piece two and two together, and he would soon be able to realize that while they're hard to dodge, that's only the case if he slows down or sticks in one location. Though, even if he does move away, Jerrod would continue to do this until most of the soil falls back into the crater.

Tabalia, Lourent

Charlian would say that he's pleasantly surprised by Artemis entering this mindscape, but he's worried that Stella may panic at the sight of another enemy pilot joining the conversation. Though, as he felt Stella's reluctance and doubt, he remembered that this is a place where intentions shine before words. Reassured that everything is going to be fine, the young man cleared his throat and faced Stella with a serious look on his face.

"I'm not going to say that these aren't terrorists, because they may very well be." Surprisingly, he doesn't deny the possibility that the Tieren forces may have performed their share of atrocities in the war, since he doesn't know for certain whether they are Zeon-affiliated. "However, how do you exactly know that these people, these civilians, are actually working with the terrorists? Do you really believe that just because there are a few bad eggs, you should just destroy the whole bunch along the with basket?"

Taking a deep breath (or whatever the mental equivalent of it is), Charlian continued at a slower pace. "It's so, so easy to just say that everyone here, including those who are innocent, are all guilty by association. It's also easy to forget that these civilians actually have families and friends of their own that you might have crushed beneath your Gundam. You're not the only one afraid of... of death, just imagine how horrified they must've been when you crushed their home, believing them to be guilty."

"Besides, just... stop moving for a second and look at the destruction you spread. Does this look like something ordered by someone who cares about civilian lives?" The Replicator can't help but huff at the mention of that racist blonde asshole. "Azrael didn't make the smartest move today if he just wanted to stop the Zeon from hurting others. Why the hell would you use the Destroy Gundam to take out a small terrorist force hiding in civilian populations? It's like using a hammer when a scalpel is needed. It's not only hasty and brutal, but also inappropriate."

TUNNELS (Hollow Rock)
Astral Knight    Konngara

Konngara would let the folks out of the office (if they hadn't left it already) now that it seemed things were (relatively) safe again, holding her sword in one hand and the torch she had grabbed in the other.

Soon, the Astral Knight would follow behind the others, sometimes looking over her shoulder and letting out a sigh.    "...Maybe they knew already. Don't panic."

Later seeing the odd forms in the passage ahead, the yaksha steeled her gaze and carefully stepped to the front.    "...dead ahead."

Assuming the creatures would advance on the group, Konngara would hold her sword accordingly, now holding it in a blocking stance.
