"Right." Sebastien agreed. "They're essentially zombies at this point."
Not that he'd enjoy it.
Soon they reached the den entrance, a large cavern where they could already see an eerie purple glow from inside. Notably it's too small for something Oltura's size to have gone through, presumably this being some kind of alternate entrance.
"Ready when you are." he says, waiting for Luin's signal to head into the dark cave.
"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person.""As good a day as any to die, I suppose." Luin shrugged only half-joking, and drew her suit’s primary weaponry: two crimson “pistols” (though their size would be more akin to rifles in a person’s hands) with lengthy barrels. She held them to her side, one in either hand as she entered the cavern.

Someone
is standing nearby, having been looking through a nearby shelf before he'd spoken up. His voice sounds like he's exhausted, the sort of 'tired mentor' voice you'd hear. He looks it too- his ginger hair a disheveled mess and his clothes all rumpled.
He turns back to browse some books, a leather tome tucked tightly under his arm.

Both Pokemon and Trainer begin rooting for Kaiju Wriggle because of their pro-insect bias, of course. May those dumb mammals and their dumb Pokemon lose this round horribly.
It quickly became rather dark for anyone with normal sight to seem, the only light from the eerie purple crystals growing out of the walls. Fortunate then that their suits weren't limited to that. Sebastien flicked on the sonar just to be safe.
And already spotted several blips heading their way.
"Looks like we got a welcoming committee." Sebastien remarked to Luin, drawing his own suit's weapons (or extending I guess w/e). Fortunately instead of any humans that might give them moral quandaries, it was instead a group of 5 critters
◊ smaller than Rime. The black ooze on their bodies marked them as obviously under their target's thrall and they growled before two of them began sparking electricity and charging after Luin!

Ashes of Nohr
Moonrise Crypt, New HQ (Battlefield) - GUARD DUTY
Bouncer raised his hand to prepare for an energy blast instead of backing away from Ketheric after his punch didn't work, but he had to cancel that early and use his arms to protect himself from the hammer strike. While he lived, the warlord managed to completely take off an arm and severely damage the other, forcing Bouncer to retreat into a hotel door Jeridan opened for him and receive repairs.
The Summoner carefully observed Corrin's situation even as he depleted a lot of his reserves on RCT to heal Beruka and Kaa, letting out a small sigh of relief at how Corrin managed to fight back with Bucky distracting Ketheric. He observed D'Vorah's betrayal with no visible reaction aside from a sigh. No surprise there, just D'Vorah being herself. While he never expected the insect woman to stay loyal, her sacrifice still annoyed him because her insects are annoying to deal with now that they can't be killed.
What really pissed him off, however, is Ketheric's declaration that one can only find purpose in death, something that made him roll his eyes. Jeridan has met many delusional people on his journeys who insisted that people's lives have no purpose. Predictably, they would follow up by saying that there is an exception, which is when someone is serving their purpose. As much as he wants to go over there and throw down with the half-elf, Jeridan can't do that yet, something that leads him to consider why he's starting to get annoyed by this fight.
The battle against this deadly trio is hard, but not in a way that the Summoner typically used to. While he is strong enough to put up a good fight against them, the same cannot be said about the rest of his teammates, most of which are all quickly overwhelmed by Azura. So the issue is not that he's weak, but rather he has to spend most of his time supporting and healing others. It's not too big of a deal since he already decided to not interfere too much, but he still dislikes the fact that he's been forced onto the sidelines.
However, Jeridan did agree with Ketheric on one thing, and it's their disappointment in Corrin. While he can understand that sometimes one's own burdens are too much to bear, forgetting it all is absolutely not the answer. "Come on Corrin, don't tell me you're actually just going to forget everything!" He's clearly disappointed, but his tone isn't harsh, just frustrated and worried.
Meanwhile, Charlian's electromagnetic tornado was unable to stop Azura from striking the injured. While her Cursed Techniques are burned out for the moment, she's still incredibly fast physically, allowing her to avoid him entirely and attack the people behind him. Jeridan was able to see the scythe slash coming thanks to him having the time to hone his instinct and experience across many battles, but his body was unable to keep up with her speed. The only reason her scythe didn't ignore his armor outright is because it's a product of his EGO, a direct manifestation of his powerful desires that stemmed from the human subconscious. Even then, the attack destroyed a portion his torso armor by shredding them away and left a gash on his chest, interrupting his RCT.
Both Charlian and Jeridan's attention are soon captured by the squid-like creature held in Azura's hand as the tornado slowly faded away, with the former gasping and the latter raising an eyebrow at the identity exposure. A Mindflayer? They both recognized the species that he belonged to, and immediately realized that this is "Gunter", the man who coordinated the mission through his psionic powers.
The young man didn't focus too much on that, however, as he immediately grabbed the potion from Beruka's hands and downed it before stretching his limbs, feeling ready to dedicate himself to healing again. Moving to Rosita's team, he focused on healing everyone who was defeated by the Domain first, seeing that they are in a worse state. However, using RCT in such a generous manner is starting to tax his reserves, so he focused on recovering their wounds enough to make sure they're out of the danger zone instead.
Charlian didn't waste another second in pursuing Azura after watching her grabbing Corrin, his boosters carrying him at a speed that almost feels unbefitting of such a heavy Super Mechanoid. While he has a lot of questions, the Replicator didn't immediately feel betrayed by the mind flayer, even if he dislikes being lied to.
Capitalizing on the mind blast rendering Ketheric unable to move for the moment, he reached out to fire a Broken Magnum, but was quickly stopped by Morgan barging in. "This is a good time for you-" Landing on the ground and blocking Morgan's charge (but still skidding back somewhat due to the force), he attempts to grab Morgan by the neck with his left hand.
Regardless of what happens, Charlian would fight with increased fervor as he watched Azura talks to Corrin as if she's going to take away all his problems. "Stay away from her Corrin! Don't let her tell you what's good for you!" The young man exclaimed as he tried to get through to his companion, and felt his heart skip a beat when Corrin is forcibly given two small orbs (which he spotted with his enhanced mechanical vision) and freezes on the spot, making the Super Mechanoid temporarily stop attacking.
The young man's heart pounded in his chest as he listened to her next words. What Azura said simultaneously sent a chill down his spines and lit a fire in his soul, prompting him to charge directly at the thorns and smashes any spikes launched towards him, using his drastically enhanced durability to shrug off most of the attacks Morgan sent his way and immediately flew right into his thorns, using the momentum to charge into it and do as much damage as he possibly can.
"NO YOU DON'T!" Charlian roared as he outright ignored Morgan as he watched the Demented Spirit feeding Corrin poisoned words. "Let him go RIGHT NOW!" His fists pounded at the thorns and tore at any opening he can find as he desperately tried to reach his companion, completely disregarding any damages the spikes may do to his armor, hoping that he can at least reach them in time.
...but it was too late.
The Replicator's desperation is palpable and infectious, but it all disappeared when Azura did along with Corrin, Morgan, and Ketheric, leaving behind only a solemn emptiness.
That is, until he felt a hand on his shoulder.
"We'll get them back." Jeridan looks somewhat tired, but his eyes glowed with fury and unshakable resolve. Despite only interacting with Corrin on one mission that had them their lives to save the world, he has come to genuinely appreciate the prince. If there's one thing that the Summoner values above all else, it's his connection and bond with others, and no one, no one, took that away from him without suffering the consequences. Now that Azura went as far as erasing his memories, he's going to make sure that she suffers his wrath.
The two ritual-bearers locked eyes properly for the first time in their entire lives, with Jeridan's otherworldly red gazing into Charlian's painted blue. This continued for around 5 seconds until the latter nodded in approval. "Yeah, we will." They exchanged little words because there's nothing else that needs to be said about their mission. They'll rescue Corrin, find Ketheric and the two Demented Spirits, and make sure they suffer the consequences.
But first, they must heal the wounded and learn what this mind flayer's deal is. Jeridan borrowed Poseidon's powers
to create a large enough puddle for people to step into, having a lot of experiences with how Corrin's Castle and scales work, while Charlian shed his aspects and replicated Cursed Energy so he could use RCT to heal Bucky, Milin, and Ecclesia, with the rest being healthy enough to not require his attention. "Do you need a replacement for that?" The young man pointed at the Winter Soldier's stump where his metal arm once was. "My replications don't last forever but it's a good enough solution for the moment."

Luin was quick to hop away from the approaching beasts, taking aim at the duo with either gun. Such weapons were largely unfamiliar, but she’d have to manage. The mech’s metal fingers impressed upon the trigger, squeezing off a single bullet from both.

Pain.
Searing, unbearable pain rocked Milin's body as she felt something within her being cut apart- something all of her bionics and psionics couldn't dampen the shock of.
"-urk..."
As the bug slams into her and her soul is cut, she collapses to the floor, the light in her eyes fading. An alarm rings out before a heart monitor beep starts to sound from somewhere on her, getting slower and slower...
DANGER: User is in critical condition! Attempting to contact emergency services..........
ERROR: No connection found! Retrying in 10s.
...
A warmth washes over her. Her flesh attempts to knit itself together... But there's not enough to stabilize her. Too many broken cybernetics, and not enough flesh. While she could accelerate the slow self-repair process it usually did by using her psionics, she can't do anything about this...
...
The beeping stops and falls silent. Milin isn't breathing. She lets out a last sigh as her hands unclench and her body goes limp...
Milin Nagant, the Chromatic Psion, one of the greatest of her world...
...is dead.
Her body lies there, a wreck of broken parts and pale flesh. Her eyes are closed, her face showing her last emotion to any who turn her over...
She died in despair. She died unfulfilled. But her soul still clings to her body...
She refuses to let herself move on that easily. Milin can still be revived.
Fourth Floor
Pyre holds her lantern up to get a better angle of light and stops when she sees Gunter.
"-wait, what in the hells? Either he somehow got captured, or there's... two of him?"
She stares for a moment, for once not making any retort to Gortash. She's just... confused.

After everybody finished using the Hoverboard to descend, Yazy herself uses it.
...
She arrives with the prisoneers. She overhears something about one of them being the true Gunther... Whatever that means, it doesn't sounds as something good for her friends.
Uh, sure.
Yazy uses the orb to get the two prisoneers in it. Don't worry, you are going to a better place.
She notices the shadows; she needs to be quick.
3rd Floor
Zamba looks somewhat happy because their little improvised "plan" worked.
Don't worry He answers Salazar. You didn't knew a thing about me. And I was too stressed to react calmly. I'm sorry.
But Jojo didn't apologized. Typical brit behavior.
...
The room reeks of blood and death. Zamba puts on his cloth mask to avoid smelling that. Cardboard is more used to it: it's just like the air of Garbage Island, but different.
After hearing Malus and Shadowheart, Cardboard says:
I know nothing about those Selune or Shar, but I don't think operate people is a good way to teach their wisdom.
Then, she addresses Zamba: Get ready to fight. Here, pour this on your weapon.
She gives him a Vallite capsule, and they pour them on their respective weapons (Cardboard's glass sword and Zamba's Metric ruler). Then, they ready their shields (Cap's shield and the Wood cover book).
Guard Duty - Failure
Rosita got slashed by an invisible cut, that doesn't damages cloth or skin, but the very soul, and thus she falls limply on the ground.
And there, she learns the hard truth: "Gunther" was a Mind Flayer all this time. That explains the telepathic powers.
Anyways, she and her squad got healed afterwards by Jeridan (?).
I owe you one. Thanks.
And then, they step into the summoned fountain, seeking for a shelter.

Three freaking ghosts!Ashes of Fumble
Mark can feel the finality of the Domain Expansion being cast. There's this neat thing his family taught him: Anyone casting a spell that's less than a sentence and is horrifically abstract in both term and definition is either.
A) completely fucking insane
B) about to cast an ultimate move
c) both
He answered C.
Worse yet, this Domain contains his biggest fears by proxy, drowning, Mark is quite afraid of the sea ironic considering his master is a deity of one rip arbi from an earlier encounter in life. The fishes that Azura summons dig into him, whilst he wildly thrashes his arms, he feels his body finally catch up to his spirit.
"FUCK- OFF- DAMN—"
No matter how much he believes, no matter how much magic he can subconsciously output to keep him together. No matter how much he's changed by beings from beyond. The human body has its limits. He is undeniably human, and it pays to be one. Betrayal is another one of his largest gripes, any kind of act don.
Mark falls to the ground, feeling the cold ground come back again. It felt more at home than the beach he felt earlier. He's falling in and out of consciousness. His eyes open, but he cannot perceive information. His mouth tries muttering something, but it cannot produce sound.
So perhaps, being too occupied teetering the edge of life and death to witness the true nature of a person he at least knew to fall back on during this whole adventure is to his benefit. Knowing the truth about Gunter, especially in this moment, would be too much for him to handle. Not in despair, but in a kind of infantile fiery rage he can't control.
The Mind Flayer is something he would not forgive, but that's yet to be determined by him.
realWell, Godzilla sure annihilated that there Desghidorah. The raven-haired woman visibly relaxes when she sees that happen, closing her eyes for a minute and recalling the energies she'd put out earlier. The result is that it clears the buffs she'd handed out, but with no battle left to partake in, it should be fine, right? She feels safe enough turning her full attention onto the conversation, thinking things through...
"I see. I do still have my own mission to worry about, but... This does seem like a cause worth joining in on... and maybe some paths will converge... plus I might need help myself later... and the big guy seems to mean well enough, hmm..."
Her personal shield flickers as the nuclear pulses brushes past. She comes to a decision, nodding at Malzeno.
"Alright, I'll tag along and help out where I can, if you and your companions will have me. As for my name, uhh... I... don't have one. But since I'm fairly sure I'm the only one here, I'm sure Regent will do, right?"
The fact that only 140 characters are allowed here is honestly so disappointing to me.Library
Evie arrives amidst this discussion, she looks relatively timid and outright nervous that she's around what's seemingly her peers. She has her own book and she just scurries through its contents to see if she's even jotted down what they're talking about or even has an idea.

"Mission successful. But we are not done yet. Continue to tail the target at a safe distance."

Lastly, Etemon is lying upside down in some rubble further in the town, only his legs and tail sticking out.
"If I were any other random guy this performance'd have been a career-ender."
He then (somehow) jumps out of the rubble, landing on his feet and glaring.
"But I ain't no ordinary star, no-sirree! I'll be back for an encore, and when I do, that giant lizard freak won't know what hit'em! I'll give 'im the slip for sure!"
But for right know, he chooses to fold them and runs off.

Due to the close range (and the fact that Slither Wing's speed stat is literally a single point's higher), Arbok gets hit again, and as such gets debuffed once again. With Weezing still recovering from getting kicked-jumped in the face, Lokix reaches Arbok this time and hits with Leech Life.
"ACK! James, do something instead of having Weezing just float there!", Jessie angrily complains to James.
"What!? Weezing already helped you out!", James angrily responds.
"Jessie and James're making a fool out of us! That giant's not even givin' commands and she's doing better than both of 'em combined.", Meowth groans from in the stands, facepalming.
Jessie huffs and looks back at the opponents.
"Whatever, I'll just have to take them out before they can take me out! Arbok, Acid!"
As Arbok spits acid at Slither Wing, Jessie activates her BLAST OFF skill to raise Arbok's Atk and SpAtk by 2 stat ranks. However, this also decreases its Def and SpDef by 2 stat ranks. Seems she's serious about trying to beat them fast.
"NO! That don't work as well in double battles as in singles!", Meowth yells from the audience, double facepalming now. And for good reason, as lowered defenses is extra risky when you're against multiple opponents.
"Well, I'm not gonna let them make Weezing look weak! Weezing, Poison Gas, on both this time!"
As Weezing breathes out the poisonous gas, aiming at both Slither Wing and Lokix, James activates his X DEFEND skill to raise Weezing's Def by 2 stat ranks.

In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.Ashes of Nohr - Severance
Prison
The chains break thanks to the quick efforts of "Pyra" and the Kagura Squad, with Law and Kusakabe grabbing the two fellas so that they won't fall down into the water. Well... shit, that's the 1st division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, Marco "The Phoenix". .Law mutters, seeing the unconscious Marco. It figured that they knew specifically how to disable he and Kidd's powers, though he wondered what he was doing there.
I'd be really impressed if I knew what any of this means. Kusakabe means, lifting Gunter on his shoulder.
Law huffs in annoyance at his retort, even if he isn't wrong. Seeing the encroaching shadows, he heads for Yazy. I'll tell you why it's a big deal once we're somewhere safer. With Kusakabe being eager to leave, and having seen Omeluum use the orb, he decides to nudge Gunter's face against it a bit, and is surprised when the old man vanish, his body being quickly absorbed into the orb in a blink. Kusakabe screams in fright at that while Law just shove Marco against it, the orb likewise working.
You're gonna be alone in there for a second. If you don't feel confident, I can hold the orb for you. Law says. Meanwhile, Gortash notes everyone's surprise at the sight of Gunter, but decides to just enter the O R B as well, touching it and warping in. For his part, Choso just stand firm, arms folded, motioning for Red Hood to go back as well. He's one of the last to leave, staring down the shadows just in case.
Law and he will be the last to enter. And if Yazy take Law's offer and enter the orb, it'll just be Law standing against the encroaching shadows. He grabs the ORB as tightly as he can (without being accidentally warped in), and, in an unusual move, he shove it into his shirt after a very brief realization. He could end up losing control to it while going limp into the water, after all.
Much as he hated the idea of diving underwater while surrounded by monsters, it appeared to be the best way to do it. And thus, with a jump, he goes in.
But regardless of it it's him or Yazy, they leap into the water, and it instantly become crystal-clear, with them falling down into the Astral Sea right afterwards. With the help of the Dragon Scale, they'll be carried to Corrin's Castle via a water-y toboggan. As for the rest of the group, the trip will be much shorter, with them winding up into the floating base directly, probably slightly confused and wet.
Urgh... Kusakabe raises his arm, blocking some artificial sunlight from illuminating his face. I don't mind the sun, but I'm kind of overdressed for this world. He takes notes of his surroundings, mostly looking for a place where he can just get clean sleep and rest. Despite his initial misgivings, the place looked very nice, it's just that that much sun at once... Bah.
Gortash fares better, quickly recognizing where he was. Nevermind the agreeable change of scenery! It's a great feat of magic to store a castle such as this in the Astral Sea. And that orb?! It's quite comptact, if I say so! There are so many little issues you could solve with magical storage like this! He puts his hands on his hips, nodding up and down. And that is the owner, I take it? Gortash points to Lilith, who seems a bit... disheveled, eyes wide in panic, even as she prioritizes healing Gunter and Marco over her issues.
Y-you're back! She turns to the group, and raise her little dragon paws, using her healing magic to restore them to full health. Doing that seems to tire her, her flight petering out a little into an unsteady levitation, but she can afford that. L-Lord Corrin is in danger! There's been an ambush! I'm sorry for asking you this, but you need to return to Moonrise Crypt immediately!
On the ground, Gunter and Marco stirs, but don't wake up quite now. They're about to, by all hints.
Choso, who took some time to observe his surroundings, glances at Lilith. Very well. He didn't care, but at the same time, Ketheric Thorm and the rest had to be there. He could afford to go play hero if it meant wiping them out. Kusakabe hesitates slightly, having only left Moonrise Crypt, but Law stepping up convinces him to awkwardly follow after them, even if he's hoping that Lilith is panicking over nothing.
The only one not to move is Gortash, who turns to Red Hood and the others, his enthusiasm still there, but dimmed by the panic.
I take it you have been interacting with "Gunter" beforehand, right? Thinking he was somebody he isn't? This happened to me too, on my own exploration of Moonrise Crypt, he says, glancing at the door leading outside. I've met Kenjaku before this. I can tell you that I know who and what he is, so there is no need to catch me up. Whether our friend is allied to him or not, I do not know. But this isn't his first visit to this place, I am sure and certain of that fact.
Though if my suspicion is correct, you will not be able to ask much of him... for he'll certainly be quick to leave with his identity revealed. A fact he'll deduce as soon as he re-establish his mental link. Gortash points to the side of his head, smiling. He's been guiding you all along with his telepathy, right? What will you be doing without it?
Malus
Zuko crunch his nose. If it were up to him, he'd have blasted Malus with fire and fought his way out of there. But given the numbers, he was careful not to do anything rash, especially with the other people in the room seemingly preparing themselves for battle. Zuko still took on his firebending stance, adjusting himself where there were less people and readying himself for battle.
But that wouldn't be needed.
What are you... Malus glances at Vladek's book, and he tilt his head back, as if pleased. Shadowheart glances at it, being surprised to hear Vladek's words, but deciding to see if there was any potential to them. After all, she'd read the same thing as he (and Rumia). And knew that there was a definitive final lesson in store for the nurses.
Their incisions are, as yet, still streaked with imprecision... That much, I must concede... Malus wondered. Vladek get something rolling in the elf's demented mind however, and he begins to pace about. I see you've read my book? A good use of that light, I'll admit. But yet... Ah... Malus stops pacing about, quickly coming to his realization. I have taught my nurses much - I've robbed them of Selune's light and imbued them with Shar's essence. But my "Presence" holds them back. For in believing themselves pupils, they allow themselves to blunder, thinking their Master will correct them.
SHADOWHEART, ZUKO, JOSEPH, SALAZAR LIKED THAT
The nurses all begin turning towards Malus, slowly, methodically, grasping their rusted tools even harder than before. He appears to notice.
... I have done much for Lady Shar, and I prepare myself to be lowered into her thankful void, I have only one request for those of you who will sadly persist in dragging your eyed carcasses across the light of Selune - that you introduce my nephew Ketheric to the same oblivion I am about to be cast into. Malus leans forward and slowly spread his arms to his sides, the light of the moon revealing his bloody tools. Now... To drag one of you with me into oblivion!
Malus screams, any sense of rationality or dicton (strange and unsettling as it is) vanishing as he slams his metal limbs down on the ground, prowling on all fours. The Nurses scream back, preparing to help the group in killing the absolute shit out of Malus.
Heh, good work, Vladek! You've turned the odds right in our favour!
I'm going to have some fucking nightmares after this... Joseph grumbles, readying his clacker.
Me too. But at least, we'll have lived to simply have nightmares about this crypt.
Zuko and Salazar ready themselves while Kidd is... afk. Because his DIS Cs are gone.
He might be useful there.

Hmph. The Mind Flayer retorts when Bucky asks where it was.
He's been there all along, moron. Leonidas groans, not recovering from being made into fish meat. Still, with a bit of healing, he's back to his feet. He looks bothered as he get up, not because he lost, but because of how he lost : an unavoidable attack that tears through flesh and metal with utter ease, and that he knew was also deliberately not meant to be lethal.
If Azura had wanted to, she could have easily used those powers of her to do greater harm, or even kill them. But she hadn't. Why? And that little shit could use one as well, hence, they had two deadly abilities to find a way around... assuming they could overcome Morgan's great durability and Azura's speed, and that was with Ketheric's immortal shadow looming over all their heads. Even with the effectiveness of Jeridan and Charlian, and the tenacity and skills of Bucky, Rosita, Milin (RIP) and even Ecclesia, it seemed like the group had their back against the wall.
Still, he could appreciate Charlian whipping up a giant robot, even with Morgan dodging the grab attempt.
Speaking of that, with Azura going down several floors to talk to Corrin, and Morgan's wall of thorns, it's very unlikely anyone but the Mind Flayer has managed to hear or see what she has in store for him.
???
that won't do Gor raise their arms, using their divine power to insure that meta-knowledge tied to the Demented Spirits and their hosts would be reset this round, putting Charlian and Jeridan on the same footing as everyone else when it came to deducing an enemy ability. Not much fun to have in fighting someone you literally read a book about, right?
Of course, it'll be reset for later. And they can still acknowledge past findings, but they won't be able to deduce and remember aspects of the Disaster Curses that weren't shown to them by the Demented Spirits (like Hanami having a tough hide and "plant" magic, Dagon's Domain and water cursed technique).
HQ
Beruka and Kaa sit there initially. Fully healed, but also confused on where to go. Kaa is mostly saddened and confused at where Corrin went but Beruka simply glowers hatefully at the Mind Flayer, who looks down at her in what appears to be contempt, though its eyes being locked in a perpetual sneer doesn't help. Corrin is still alive. I can tell you that much. And his memories are intact and well.
Tell me where he is, I'll be getting him back. Beruka move to get up on her feet, but she's surprised when Kaa reach for her forearm, silently shaking her head to the side. And Beruka is surprised to see that her face is... not quite complete, but already a lot more present. With the only eerie detail being the hole on top of her head, allowing one to peer at her brain from the right angle.
But her face is otherwise completed - and it reflects sorrow that she couldn't show before.
Don't look at me like that. Beruka snaps, not quite losing her cool, but still sounding angry. She looks back at the right - and her missing forearm, the pain of it barely comparable to that of Corrin being gone. It's not right! None of this is right! We didn't go through all of this in Nohr so that he could be taken like this! We deserve better than this! He deserves better than this! Beruka take a walk around the annihilated room, ranting, but not quite yelling. We should never have come here! It was never our fight, wasn't it?! It was yours! You manipulated Corrin so that he'd come here to do your dirty work with Ketheric, right?! She approach the Mind Flayer, who stays floating. You made yourself look like his dad, you sick suck! You dragged him into this trapped tomb! And now he's... he's someone's prisoner again! In a world with fucking GARON in it!
Some truths, I did keep for later. But I can say I didn't lie to you about Kenjaku's interest with Corrin. He would have conspired you into walking to that world - preparing him was the best I could do. The Mind Flayer answers, tone neutral, putting an hand on its chest. I will elaborate on it all somewhere safer. Garon or Balthazar could be coming here to clean up their masters's little mess anytime soon.
The Mind Flayer glances at the portal where everyone is going, and nods to it. Follow me. And drag that girl's corpse with you. It floats off towards it, entering the pool. Beruka grits her teeth hard enough to almost snap them, but reluctantly complies, using her technique to pick Milin's remains along the way and dragging them along with the world.
Needless to say, the group that returns to
Astral Sea - Corrin's Castle
Is much less cheery than beforehand, and still bearing some wounds from the fight on top of that. Choso and the others back off when the group arrive, with the Mind Flayer giving a brief glance at Gunter's unconscious body, having been pushed out of the way of the gate, so as not to have visitors stumble unto it. It has a much stronger reaction to Gortash showing up, and for their part, the people that weren't there to start with are horrified and surprised, even with them having already seen a Mind Flayer.
Speaking of it, Omeluum comes flying as well, with a small armory worth of medical supplies on its back. The two Illithid glance at one another. Gortash. The Gunter Mind Flayer glances at the Chosen of Bane once more. I take it they're not aware of your activites outside of Moonrise Crypt? The voice is polite, but the end of it is laced with a threat.
I unfortunately haven't had the time to inform them of it - for we were busy discussing what you were up to in Moonrise Crypt. Gortash deflects, his tone noticeably colder, even if it's still cordial. As you've noticed, they have grown aware of your deception! Would you mind enlightening all of us as to your intentions?
Beruka groans, growing impatient - Corrin was in danger, and the Emperor having telepathic tracking of him was their last opportunity to track him down. He could be a double agent for all she cared - even if he were to be leading them into a trap, she'd fight her way out.
Or could she? Azura had removed her from the fight so quickly... Not to mention the pain of her lost forearm, eaten away in an instant. She had feared she'd be useless with protecting Corrin from harm, and yet, despite seeking out power to avert this, she had been useless this one fight.
... I am called "the Emperor". And though Gortash might be implying differently on that regard, I am hunting after Kenjaku, like the rest of you.
Lilith tends to the wounded, dragging herself to her limits, but insisting on having everyone be healthy.
I would rather do this with the rest of the group all gathered - But I can tell you I am no agent of Kenjaku. Or would I have been attacked so savagely if I weren't? The Mind Flayer raises its hand. Would I have been so... diligent in guiding you right along to the right paths? To the right solution? Would I have disabled enemy spells when told to? Even when you were all so... stubborn in doing the wrong thing at the right time, I was always quick to put you back on the right path. And warn you of coming enemies.
To clarify a few things beforehand : This is not my first visit to this realm indeed. There are other groups I've tried to aid before. I was looking for weaknesses within Kenjaku's simulation - bugs to prod, situations to exploit, solutions to problems Kenjaku meant to be impossible to solve. But due to lacking the right tools, I sadly failed to save the groups I belonged to. Corrin's Castle. These files detailing the "precise" weaknesses of Azura and Mogan, the location of the Nightsong, the Moonlight Lanterns, the weaponry... None of it existed in previous simulations. And the likes of Azura and Morgan never toyed with their enemies. The Emperor put an hand on its chest, shaking its head. However, it quickly raise that hand to point it at Gortash.
You, Gortash, chosen of Bane, I had no intentions to save. Tyrant that you are - were you hoping that Ketheric would show mercy to a former colleague of his? Gortash says nothing, but gives a slight smile. Never show anger or fear in front of your enemies.
I've proved myself a patient ally, guiding you, saving you when it was needed and showing great tolerance even as some of you defied or ignored my advices. Know this ahead of time - I want to take Kenjaku down, the exact same as you. It has become clear that Azura and Ketheric are great threats on their own though. As we prepare ourselves to free Corrin, must we truly tear ourselves apart from within? Especially with how useful my abilities have been for you?
A flash of recognition goes through Kusakabe's eyes. Kenjaku? He was behind this?! How? He had remembered simply walking into a theater and seeing a nice quest giver. It's just that looking back...
... He didn't remember anything about that quest giver. Everything up until his entrance to Moonrise was a blur.
Dealing with one Kenjaku is enough. I'm not going to be tangoing with another world's Kenjaku after dealing with those Curses and Ketheric, Kusakabe sighs, leaning forward and raising his hand to get everyone's attention. Look. I know who you're talking about. He's flipped my world's society on its head and he's looking to basically eradicate Japan. I gotta deal with "THAT" Kenjaku first and prioritize my own home's safety over the life of some guy I don't know. Beruka glares at him, and he doesn't see it or else he'd probably stop with how deadly her gaze is.
Kaa can't even glare : the whole thing is disorienting for her.
What I mean is - Ketheric, the Spirits and us are all pawns in some chess game that you and Kenjaku are playing. And not to be rude, but your side of the board looks pretty tattered right now. I guess if you guys have good arguments, I'll be willing to help. But... What's the benefits to sticking around and fighting at this point? Because... They've got "Corrin", they've won. I appreciate you breaking me out of prison, I didn't think I'd see the -artificial- light of day again, but... I'd rather not see Moonrise Crypt ever again.
The rest of the gang glance about, with the Emperor staying silent. It's true that things were delicate at this point.
Was this party doomed to fracture?

"I'm shocked that they're apparently still alive." , Dracus says to Karzon, who nods. Both of them thought Gunter and the other guy would've been dead.
Speaking of Gunter, the both of them now also realize the implications of him being here.
"... I wonder if Lord Vladek knew something of this. His... odd reaction would make sense then. But then, why did he not inform us..."
No real time to speculate for now, as they have to get out of there. The both of them quickly go into the orb as well to escape.
—
Corrin's Castle
Well, they're back here again. And soaking wet to boot. Not very fun when you're wearing armor.
"It was drier the first time around." , Dracus grumbles. But before either can do or say anything else, Lilith comes to them in a panic.
"The message that old man... the fake old man sent was true after all then."
"I just hope it's not that demonic hellspawn that's attacking them."
They start walking after Law too, but Gortash's question catches them off guard and makes them pause.
"... I am... uncertain of that."
"I suppose Lord Vladek would decide that for us."
It's this hesitance that ensures they're here when the other group arrives, including the Mind Flayer. They both recoil for a moment. What the hell is that?
They get the gist of it during the Mind Flayer's explanation though. The both of them are furious that they and Vladek were basically used like this. Both by the Emperor and by Kenjaku.
The only reason they remain calm (outwardly) and don't try to stir up trouble is because they now figure Lord Vladek must have found out about the Mind Flayer, and the fact that he hadn't called off their aid for this group must mean he's either found a way to use this to his advantage, or is trying to come up with a plan to do just that.
... in reality though, unbeknownst to them, the truth was that Vladek had been genuinely frightened by the realization of what had been going on. But that fear hadn't deterred him from trying to get his hands on the power he came here to find. Does Vladek have a plan to take the Emperor into account? No, most likely not. But it had failed to change his mind on the bigger picture.
Though Dracus nor Karzon would ever know this of course.
The two step up to the Emperor.
"Lord Vladek is the one who commanded us to aid you."
"If he deigns that we should continue aiding you, then we will. So we will have to wait for his group's return."
Malus
Well, getting the Nurses to side with them is not an outcome Vladek expected. But it's one he'll gladly accept. And a result he'll gladly take credit for as well.
"Oblivion is a fate met by all who oppose us, Ketheric especially." , Vladek says as he, after stashing his book again, draws his blade. Hey, at least he has the sense to say 'us' instead of 'me' while around his allies.
"But it is a fate that shan't find us!"
He swings his blade to send a dark magic cutter projectile at Malus. With that, he wordlessly signals for his allies (and the Nurses) to attack.

Omg subarers. Yamame gives her a hug in greeting.
Ourargh. The gyass hits Slither Wing this time, poisoning it while Lokix once again avoids it cause 2fast2quick.
"Is that supposed to be frightening?" Wriggle asks rhetorically while also activating the skill of the same name. Slither Wing rears up and spreads its wings, summoning Sunny weather. This means it gets a 50% attack buff thanks to its Charging Sun. Between that and the stat drops it means this next Close Combat headed Arbok's way is gonna hit it like a fucking freight train, the Paradox Pokemon facetanking the Acid to ensure it lands.
Oh and Lokix gets a passive heal but it hasn't taken damage anyway so uh yeah. Slither Wing's gotten chipped a noticeable amount though.
Speaking of Lokix, another Axe Kick to Weezing but this time actually targeting the guy.
Ashes of Nohr
Well. She didn't expect that. She had been fully expecting a horde fight but this works too. Kinda tired of all this Shar stuff, Rumia charges forward first.
"Hold him still!" She shouts with a shark-like smile on her face and her sword in her grip. She uses her shadow arms to give her jump an extra push to get above Malus before pivoting around with her flight to try and spike him from above with her sword.
> Uhh I guess Kidd if he wasn't KO'd would be the best for it but if not rebooted by Poochie then Shadowfart
"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."PML
"Ahahahaha! Making it sunny? You're just making it easier for me to get a tan!", Jessie says. She does not know. She is unaware.
"Arbok, Poison Jab!"
Arbok lurches forward, trying to deliver a Poison Jab against Slither Wing...
But the ancient bug's boosted Close Combat lays down a beatdown first, the final hit sending Arbok flying all the way off of the battlefield and across the entire tournament arena, leaving Jessie and James to stand there with frozen stares on their faces for a good few seconds before turning to look at the now fainted Arbok.
"Wh-wh-wha-wha-wha-HOW!? I did so well last round!"
James sighs and slumps over a bit.
"I guess it's because our Pokemon are only strong when they're fighting Pokemon on their own level... which is each other."
Weezing, meanwhile, is not a fast Pokemon. However-
"Poison Gas!", James suddenly shouts as he turns back around without a warning. Weezing attempts to use Poison Gas on Lokix right before it has a chance to strike. Lokix's attack will hit, but if it's mid-jump while trying to reach Weezing, odds are that it will get poisoned in the process. But regardless of the outcome...
PREPARE FOR TROUBLE!
James uses his skill to buff Weezing's SpDef by two stat ranks (useless in this fight) and heal its HP by 40% (much more useful in this fight).
"Alright James, it's up to you to avenge my honor!"
"I'll try but it's hard to avenge something you don't have."
Jessie needs a moment to process that she just got burned, and only spares James from her wrath because if she knocks him out she'll lose the round.
In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.Oh, she hates this. She really, really hates this.
Blade grits her teeth in rage. She had come here to test her skills, certainly, but make no mistake, she was still out to win. And winning had seemed like a reasonable possibility. But now, the lead that she had worked so hard to get had long vanished, and she was being left in the dust. Worst of all, that abomination, that monster is only one kill away from passing her. A mere construct using a meager fraction of the vampire's full power is about to beat her at her own game. She cannot, she will not allow this.
No more playing around. Honor and fairness are going to have to take a backseat. She is competing against a monster, and the only way to beat a monster is to become one - she has learned that long ago.
Her gaze locks on Mahke Eetstop in that shoddy kimono of hers, threatening to flood the arena with that waterfall of tears. This pathetic display disgusts her to the core. What kind of warrior just starts crying and whining in the middle of battle? Back in her day, warriors would leave it all on the battlefield. They would lose limbs without shedding a tear, and die with a smile on their face. Above all, she seems completely distracted and open.
It's time to teach her a harsh lesson written in blood.
Blade enters an iaijutsu stance as she once again uses her ambushing form, [Emerging From The Dark], channeling all of her wrath to close the gap between herself and Mahke in the blink of an eye and attempt to sever her head off her shoulders in a single swing from The Ender of Paths.

So Gunter was Shiny Octodad all along? Oh well.

"Kashikoma! Puri! Pshuu... I think I should stick with "gotta go do something" for now... Hmm?"
The first thing "Pyra" actually notices notices is Beruka's missing forearm.
Well, they still haven't properly returned the favour of Beruka's assistance and protection...
Hmm...
"Pyra" has a spark of inspiration.
|You|
(Ui, have you got the unused presets?)
One of the presets that wasn't used by "Pyra" upon initiation is a prosthetic maker. Ui can temporarily load that preset for "Pyra" and the Squad to make a prosthetic arm for Beruka.
Upon loading, "Pyra" and the Squad goes to collect bits of scrap metal across the castle and loading it into the Typhoon, therefore completely ignoring any conversations the others are having.
Hmm, a lone sapphire and a lone topaz? No idea why they're just... lying there unattended. May be useful with the forging.
All this collecting gives "Pyra" enough time to access the skill and think of an overall design: One that looks like a forearm where rings are used for moving segments like chainlinks, using bits of magic to help with some of the moving mechanisms.
The team arrives at the forge, gaining approval from the blacksmith, allowing them to enter the forging area.
Inside the forge, "Pyra" uses their flames to soften the metal and then use the (still burning) hammer to make a rough shape of the pieces, which are then smoothened, bent into shape and pieced together by the Squad, Splash and Blizzard also uses their elemental powers to cool the metal before handling.
This is when "Pyra" notices a sheet on the wall that depicts weapons that can be made with certain gems.
What if they added Mode Switches to turn the hand into various weapons?
Let's see... sapphires are for axes and topazes are for magic.
Well, some magic is needed to get some parts working without computer bits.
[You made: Prosthetic Arm +2]
Let's test this out first.
First is Normal Mode, tested by Sizzle. Finer movements are controlled telepathically using the magic from the topaz.
The Axe Mode is tested by Zap, with mode switching also tied to thinking of switching modes. The hand folds into the shape of an axe, and hits quite well, as seen by the axe getting stuck in the ground for a bit due to Zap slamming too hard due to the lopsided weight (for a Bio Spark).
Finally, Bluster tests out Blaster Mode. The hand now turns into a cannon with an Eastern Dragon shaped head that can shoot fire (as if casting a Ragnarok) with two modes of fire - continuous and Fireballs.
All of this happened really quickly! They used their speed and numbers to great advantage.
Carefully putting the prosthetic arm into the Typhoon and unloading the preset, the team heads back.
The bit where they try to give the arm to Beruka is a bit awkward - "Pyra" is the one to carry the arm, but they stumbled and tripped, with the arm sent flying. Blizzard hovers to catch the midair arm, though Kirby physics means that once they grabbed the arm they started dropping, with Bluster catching Blizzard catching the arm near Beruka.
While a bit nervous of Beruka's reaction (she looks quite angry, possibly from the HQ fight), "Pyra", who just got back up, nevertheless speaks up.

Du-Du-Wa-Do-It, Arena KatsudouWith the two prisoners freed and secured, Red Hood wastes no time stepping after the party into the orb. Once they've reached My Castle, he simply nods to Lilith.
"Yeah, I heard."
He looks at Gortash when the sorcerer opts to chat with him.
"I'll tell you what we're gonna do. We're gonna figure out how to break Ketheric's immortality, kill him and his monsters, then turn Kenjaku into a splatter on the wall. And if that imposter's been Kenjaku's mole or just using us to take out the competition, the bastard brain had better save him a spot in hell," Red Hood assures.
-
Vi is understandably surprised when Vladek's ploy successfully turns the Nurses against Malus, but she certainly isn't going to complain. Slamming her gauntleted fists together, she strolls through the crowd of unexpected undead allies.
"Hey, Salazar," she calls out. "Do everyone a favor and blow this sick creep's brains out."
Once she's closed the distance between herself and Malus, Vi moves to grab the twisted doctor by the head and smash his face against the operating table several times before backhanding him aside.

"We all just got our asses handed to us by a creepy blue-haired girl and an obnoxious little hellspawn," Bucky points out to Leonidas. "I think you can cut me a little slack for not knowing how long that octopus thing has been there watching us get trashed."
His gaze flickers to Charlian when the latter offers to create a new metal arm, and he offers him an appreciative nod.
"Yeah, sure. I wouldn't mind being able to use both arms again."
Once Charlie has created his new limb, Bucky follows the others at the Emperor's request, hoping someone would be able to revive Milin.
Once the group who had fought to defend Moonrise Crypt arrives at My Castle, Red Hood immediately begins stomping towards the Emperor, summoning an All-Blade and gripping its hilt tightly. Before he can so much as aim the weapon at the Emperor's neck, however, the tentacle-faced being decides to say his piece.
Coming to a halt, Jason scowls beneath his helmet.
"As far as I'm concerned, you're no better than Kenjaku. Ever since we stepped into that hotel room, you've been playing us like a bunch of goddamn fiddles. You pretended to be Corrin's old man and practically served him up to Kenjaku's thugs on a platter. Hell, for all I know, you're the one who locked the real Gunter in that godforsaken dungeon."
He scoffs, feeling very tempted to introduce the Mind Flayer to the business end of his All-Blade.
"And let's not forget about Ketheric's attack just now! Doesn't it seem a little weird that he knew exactly where Corrin and our guard team were hiding out? It's almost like someone might've ratted them out and told him and his pets where to look," he continues. "On the off-chance you're actually telling the truth, though, why do you really want Kenjaku dead? You want the competition out of the picture, is that it? It'd sure explain why you manipulated everyone here instead of just asking for help; you knew most of us wouldn't be onboard with helping one monster replace another."
Before Jason can speak any further, Bucky places a firm hand on his shoulder.
"Hey, that's enough, pal. We're all on the same side here."
Red Hood brushes his hand off.
"Is that right, Sarge? Because from where I'm standing, this squid-looking thing's looking really suspicious right about now," he retorts.
"I'm just saying, suspicious or not, maybe now isn't exactly the best time to be at each other's throats."
"Oh, I'm sorry. I'll just wait until he's tried putting a knife in my back to call him out."

Perhaps surprisingly given Data Monty is on a superboss level and they might expect him to have certain immunities, Hacker Supreme...works. He moves visibly slower, takes more and deals less damage.
However, he runs off to an intersection of the bridges and starts glowing with a Battle Aura. Jax's Leap Strike connects at this point and instantly takes off a whole health bar.
Data Monty then dashes along the bridge he's on, all the way to the next intersection, leaving a trail of crackling, hazardous energy. As soon as he reaches the intersection, he zips in another direction, continuing to leave his danger trail as he zigs and zags all over the catwalk, massively reducing the safe area, before coming back around to the same bridge and attempting to actually slam shoulder-first into Evan. The debuff ensures the party can follow his movements and avoid the bridges he covers in time, but he's still going fast enough to dodge a few of the shots from Gradius and its Options.
