Solopost - Arlesian Hotel, Room #07-07

Soft lofi music fills the room. Taye is in the kitchen, wearing a pineapple-patterned apron as he prepares drinks. Or desserts. Dessert-drinks. Either way, he sets up two tall glass cups, into which he drizzles chocolate syrup, fills them up with milk, adds generous scoops of chocolate ice cream, then tops them off with whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles. Perfect.

Taye opens the cabinet to put the sprinkles back, only to see that in its dark depths, a pair of yellow orbs appear. They blink.

"Oh hey there! Feels like it's been forever since we last met!" Taye reaches in and scoops out the creature with one hand, revealing it to be a fluffy black cat with huge eyes. She stares innocently at him, as if she has only one brain cell bouncing around her head.

"Mew."

"Mew mew! You're still adorable!" He scritches the top of the cat's head, to which she responds with a happy purr. Shortly after Taye puts her on the floor,

zchep

In a flash of blue light, Icbani appears, picking up the kitty & putting her on his shoulder. "Sorry about that, Void thinks this is still her home..."

"Heh, no problem," Taye chuckles, only to drop into a low voice. "But uh, you shouldn't teleport in anymore. I forgot to tell you- Kaisui's living here now. You're lucky she's having a nap."

Icbani lets out a gasp. "You two... got together?"

"Despite everything, yep."

"Congrats!!" Icbani gives Taye a bear hug. Void continues purring.

"Look, I- it's still awkward for both of us, okay? Kaisui and I, we're still... figuring things out. And you shouldn't stay there for too long anyway."

"Oh, yeah, you're right..." Icbani pulls back, though his eyes flicker to the chocolate ice-cream drinks.

Taye chuckles. "Alright, I'll make one for you." He quickly whips up a third chocolate drink, and hands it to Icbani.

"Thank you, you're the best." In another flash of light, Icbani disappears.

Beruka smiles slightly at watching how fast and far he flies. She hungered for more still : she knew that this strength and speed was the basics of what she had to offer.

And she was right. Sukuna could tell that Beruka made a fine host. She was a weakling to him, true... but next to most of her unpowered kin, she was quite deadly. Young, well-trained, with a body that had endured its fair share of abuse and bounced back from it. Next to the average host body, she was in peak physical condition. And thus could push the limits of her reinforcements further than most.

Still, it was only an happy coincidence that she was a good host. It only mattered she didn't die yet.

Besides, given the kind of gift that she'd just received, her being happy was extra enjoyment when the time would come for him to start his plan.

Meanwhile, Beruka is able to dodge with a leap backwards, avoiding the punch. Beruka accidentally flings herself that way though, making things awkward as she waits for three seconds before she can touch the ground. But she doesn't spend that time idling : Beruka instead leans forwards, crouching down to put some more force in her lower body. Seeing that he was willing to punch the ring, she doesn't hesitate to dig her bare hands into it, to try and slow herself down some more.

She still reels back for a few more seconds before she can stop herself. And as soon as she does, Beruka leans back to jump right into the action again. A careless action that she soon pay for when Cardell is able to catch her in mid-air, successfully tossing Beruka into the air and then slamming her back down, the assassin letting out a soft grunt of pain.

It's more a testament to her training than a display of weakness on Cardell's part. For the impact of his slam reverbrates across her entire body, making her bones jump up and down the length of her body. Until it finally reach her brain and explode in a wave of pain that zoom back from the tip of her skull to her toes, irradiating her entire body with pain and making her feel like he shoved a live grenade into her skull.

Nevermind the pain. The damage - She'd have been snapped in half before that. She already felt like she was with her reinforced flesh and bones.

But nevermind the pain matters more here.

Beruka freezes for a brief second, before she try to flip herself on her hands, aiming to catch Cardell off-guard with her quick recovery while he's still holding unto her legs. She can tell if he's holding her, but barely feel his weight all the same. Much to her amazement. And if she feels like she's being held still, she try to basically do a full-flip until she's on her stomach, trying to slam Cardell into the ring behind her.

If he lets go, Beruka make a smaller flip to get back on her feet. Being wary of his grabs and speed, she try to minimize her airtime and simply roll back by a few meters until she gets back on her feet, focusing mostly on defense and raising her arms to preemptively guard anything he could try to use against her.

TROPIQUE

The skies and grounds of Tropique tremble yet again as a great showdown shake the heavens and earth. Hovering over the islands, fighting violently to push both their limits, are Thor and Sarah. Both are slowly going upwards into the sky, fists and kicks clashing with godly metal or flesh in a manner that blow the clouds away and disrupt the water below - thank Gor that Tropique is void of like for these particulars fights, hm?

As they ascend higher and higher, Thor and Sarah clash weapons again, and both are thrown back quite a far distance away each. SO YOU MEAN TO SAY THIS DEVIOUS GROUP, MOEBIUS, PLOT TO RESHAPE REALITY TO THEIR LIKING?! AH! A MOST NEFARIOUS AND NARCISSITIC ENDGAME! BRINGING ALL TO EXISTENCE DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL!

More or less! Think you could back us up?! Could always appreciate a big pair of muscles!

MOST CERTAINLY! LET THIS FIGHT DETERMINE WHICH ONE OF US WILL LEAD THE WAY AGAINST MOEBIUS! Thor raises his hammer overhead and lightning strike it in multiple directions, filling it up with electricity before he swings upwards at Sarah, blasting her with a bolt of lightning so big as to scar through the sky, the rumbling of thunder loud enough to cause the world to vibrate below.

Yet, instead of hitting true and vanishing, the bolt lingers in the air after hitting Sarah, who stood still and accepted the attack, not even wincing as the awesome force impacts her without moving her. And though the bolt struggles in the palms of her hand, she quickly uses her mastery over lightning to bend it like a whip, with her physical gestures as a way to guide a process that's admittedly mostly dependent on her mind.

Sarah spins downward and, upon coming back up, raise the glorious weapon over her head, slamming Thor with his own lightning bolt. The "weapon" so lengthy that it proceeds to scar up the ground far, far below them, a lightning pillar cutting through the forest below, igniting the trees around the subsequent chasm running across the island.

Both grin daringly before the awesome feat, one witnessing it, the other doing it, and Thor's chest is scarred by the lightning smack, a long red trail running down the length of his body.

It burns away one of his nipples.

AHAHAHAH! I SEE I WILL HAVE TO USE MY DIVINE LIGHTNING CONSTANTLY DURING OUR MATCHES FROM NOW ON!

Wait until I toss it back at you too! Sarah says, noticing the collateral below. Retracting the lightning into a much smaller spear, the redhead toss it at Thor, who simply smiles and smack it aside. But this brief moment of distraction means that, by the time he's done so, he's confronted with no less than thousands of clones of Sarah, with the real one somewhere in there.

AHHH, SARAH! OVERCONFIDENCE IS YOUR TRUE ENEMY YET AGAIN! Sarah frowns, somewhere deep in all the clones, but her pondering is interrupted by a punch to the face that sends her flying. Grunting, Sarah is able to fix her flying path... to find one of her clones facing her, a smile on her face. And soon, more clones start turning their heads her way, none giving much thought to their sudden sentience.

I CAN HARNESS THE VERY SAME WAVES YOU SO DEFTLY USE TO WEAVE YOUR CLONES INTO BEING. AND WITH A LITTLE BIT OF MAGIC, I CAN MAKE THEM MORE THAN MERE HOLOGRAMS! Thor smiles, crossing his arms as the Sarahs float around him, fists pointed. The real Sarah smirks, wiping off the blood on her face as her bruise heals up. And before soon, she proceeds to take a fighting stance.

Ain't ya the god of thunder? That's bending light! I'll go tell Baldur!

THE VERY SAME BALDUR WHO TAUGHT ME THIS?! HAH!

He... taught you? Sarah frowns, baffled at the thought of THOR accepting training from anyone, even a fellow god.

WHY YES OF COURSE! HE'S TAUGHT ME MUCH! FOR BALDUR IS AS STRONG AS HE WISE! AND HE IS... NEARLY AS WISE AS I AM STRONG!

Thought you'd be the self-taught type. Sarah says, ducking her head down.

I VERY MUCH AM!!! BUT BALDUR IS SPECIAL! WHOSE DEATH BUT HIS COULD START THE END TIMES?! AND SPEAKING OF ENDING - THIS FIGHT'S CONCLUSION MIGHT BE CLOSE!

Heh, I get stronger by the instant! If you wait ten more seconds, I might just wipe those clones out with a gesture!

WORDS THAT BEG TO BE PUT TO TEST!

Sarah and Thor prepare facing off, the latter raising his hammer her way, while she prepares for an onslaught of clones.

Tropique

Thor is currently wandering across the sands of Tropqiue in search of one of the people whose help he and Iris planned on enlisting in regards to vanquishing Odin. Granted, Sephiroth didn't exactly strike him as someone who enjoyed hanging out on the beach, but then again, he wasn't exactly privy to the One-Winged Angel's hobbies.

Upon hearing the sounds of battle and a certain someone screaming at the top of his lungs overhead, he glances up and frowns upon noticing Myth!Thor having yet another sparring session with Sarah. While Thor simply continues his trek in the hopes that Odin's chief enforcer wouldn't notice him if he didn't draw attention to himself, he nonetheless allows one hand to fall to Mjolnir just in case that plan didn't pan out.

"I'm simply an interested third party, if you'd prefer to think of it that way."

Helpful, Merga.

Lute, on the other hand, has more to say.

"That's because this armor isn't standard issue for... anything, really. It's what I could patch together when I was out salvaging. I came from a universe where we salvaged what we could get. Earth wasn't exactly... accessible."

She's silent for a moment before speaking again.

"No special genes or cybernetics- hell, the only reason I can stand in this gravity is because of my armor's exoskeleton. I grew up on an asteroid base, in micrograv. Didn't do good for my bones and muscles. Though there are some places it doesn't seem to matter, even when it should."

Phillip is next to speak.

"I came from Earth- I'm not sure how, as Lute said it'd been inaccessible for years. Fought with some weird stuff. Remembered who I used to be. Ended up here."

He shrugs.

"I can make things happen that shouldn't be possible. Handy more often than not."

Fear.

Cold, primal fear.

Sam had felt such a thing before, but this... thing, it seemed to radiate it. She was about to yell at Ken for saying her library was 'wrecked', but now..?

Now she was chilled to the bone.

Extreme Save vs. POW stat- 4 roll to 85 POW, needed below 17- Success.

Sam clenches her fists and takes a deep breath. This thing radiated primal fear, but will can overpower even instinct. For this turn, at least, she can act normally.

Here goes nothing...

Sam picked up a piece of wooden railing that had fallen earlier. She takes a deep breath, and gathers her strength...

Swinging it as hard as she can at the Stalker, before immediately feinting back.

"I will not have anyone dying under my protection, you hear?!"

Sam feels like bullets wouldn't slow this thing down in the slightest. A throw of the dice...

2 + 1

"For one's folly, you must pay the price,
the searing flame is never nice."

Searing pain erupts all over Sam, and she grits her teeth and lets out a muffled scream. Her skin breaks out in red burn blisters all over...

There's no fire. Only the effects of it.

Sam staggers a bit, falling to one knee.

Gravia weaves her way between the falling bookshelves as the earthquake wrecks the place. Of course, her focus is on guarding people, so she rushes down to Sam and projects a gravity sphere around herself & just above Sam, making sure any furniture or railings that fall in end up floating in zero gravity. Gravia shoves them away, ensuring they do not harm Sam.

She's not sure where the others, are, but she's already protecting Sam, so she hopes they can keep themselves saf-

- ah, Ken returns and does his thing. Good news, the earthquake and Van Pelt have stopped. Bad news, there's someone (or something?) even worse. Cold fear shakes her to the very core, reminding her of how strangely human she is. She's quick to flick her hand and roll the dice.

3+5

As promised, Gravia's token stops at 34, just before the pillars of dark light.

"When you see it, You will shake;"

"It's big and green, And rhymes with lake."

A huge python slithers out of the board and along the floor... away from the Stalker. And Gravia.

"O-okay, wow. Are you- huh?" Gravia spins round, looking for Sam, only to find she's... gone to face the Stalker? Why?!

No time to waste. Gravia fires up her personal gravity, and launches herself at Sam, flying through the air to grab the librarian by the shoulders & rush away from the Stalker. Of course she's putting herself at risk, considering she has no idea what the Stalker is capable of. But she does not want to watch yet another human die. Not like this.

With any luck, she gets to bring Sam to a safe place in the library, putting several bookshelves between themselves and the Stalker.

"Back at you."

The giant mosquito's eyes widen at the match and it quickly stops fighting Mai only to fly away as fast as it can (consequently leaving a mosquito shaped hole in the library wall), leaving her rather confused. Which soon turns to actual fear. She's no coward but she's also not used to facing things that make her feel that either. Last time she felt this way was...

Well when she managed to displease Sariel, Shinki's strongest creation, that one time.

"H-hey now, I uh didn't have anything to do with that. I was perfectly playing within the rules and all." she says plaintively, backing away and making zero threatening movements or moving to help Ken, jerk. In fact she even glares daggers at him for causing this mess.

4 + 2

She stumbles on her dice and lands that roll. Well normally she would have won here but as the game itself said, no reaching past 34 this turn.

"Like a great white shark. Down the Nile."

"Beware the 25-foot. Crocodile."

A big freaking crocodile appears. Mai simply grabs it by the head and makes it face the Stalker. Its eyes widen and soon they're both hiding behind a bookshelf as far from the Stalker as possible.

His laughter afterwards is akin to a hyena in spite of his apparent wisdom he still has a juvenile sense of humor.

"Ahhh.... 'nuff about the past "

Something about that is more him holding back rather than going on a full tangent.

Cecil smiles at Corrin's mood being uplifted, it's something to see someone he sees potential in see it themselves but it's another thing seeing a strange looking hand.

Reiss is left unarmed, his rapier conduit being necessary for the weakspot to be continually active, so he's left to rest and retreat once Megumi appeared behind him.

Mark's finally made it into CQC range of Shockspine, he slammed his fist towards the lodged-in blade to plunge it deeper. Lightning courses through his chains and he — unsurprisingly — spasms and staggers for a moment, before accustomming to the pain and unusual feeling.

He grabs the rapier with both of his hands and his hands ignite in a blaze, intending to repeat the same trick he pulled off with the endangered croccodile. A gyser of fire explodes from his palms as he tries to burn the Shockspine from the inside out in tandem with Nue's stun to hopefully disable it from advancing forward.

Nick meanwhile uncovers his wand, a knife reveals itself and a red glow emanates from the blade. He looks back at the lizardmen's molten — and still red hot glowing — equipment and points his knife at it. The lump of glowing steel gains four extremely muscular limbs and it charges forward with the Lizardmen. It doesn't punch nor kick but rather just tries to tackle one of Shockspine's legs, attempting to sear, brand, and burn the beast with its own heat!

Mech, Leviathan

Kado watched with a sense of horror at the impeding attack; too near and too late for him to dodge. His golden lightsaber hovered in front of him as he drove the weapon towards the metal blade to avoid being sliced in half; but in spite of saving him from a sudden bisection, it failed to stop the momentum from launching him backwards. A terrible pain ripped its way across his back as he was driven through a concrete wall and into a ruined office building, crashing into and tumbling over various computers, desks, and chairs before he finally came to a stop.

His lightsaber had been wrenched from his hands at some point during his long tumble. His head drooped, chin against his chest, and as the electric lights above crackled and fizzed, the Jedi seemed to fade in and out of consciousness, with the battle outside raging all the while..

——

Luin urged the Namielle to hop onto the docks, and the monster did, though obviously wary of all the humans surrounding him. The feeling seemed mutual.

"Deluge," Luin decided as she hopped off the beast, approaching the officer and the sailor. "You said you’d lift the sailing ban if your leviathan problem was fixed," She pointed backwards at the young Elder, but never broke eye contact with the officer. "And it is. Now, when’s the next ship out? I’ve delayed long enough." The officer opened his mouth to speak, but never got the chance to. Behind Luin was a figure, one who’s presence had somehow gone unnoticed even as she dismounted and walked forwards.

"And I fear you may have to delay some more for the ports to open, my lady."    He spoke in a high and regal voice, gloved fingers running down Deluge’s jaw. Surprisingly, the Namielle seemed to enjoy it. Luin spun around to look at him, annoyed at his words and the way he had said them. But then he glanced back and flashed her a handsome smile, and the woman felt her heart flutter.

"Your Grace, the King Aelun IV!" The officer suddenly announced, as though surprising even himself. Clearly, he had expected the man to be there just as much as Luin had—which was to say, not at all.

"That is I,"    Came the sarcastic response; the flash of annoyance in his eyes at the loud declaration was subtle, yet present.    "It may take a few hours yet for word to spread of your deeds—deeds that, on my honor, shall not go unrewarded. You two have done the city of Tidefall, and I, a great service today."    He continued, nodding at Rumia and Luin both.    "I would have your names, so that I may toast to them in tonight’s feast."

"L-L-Luin," Came the awkward stammering excuse for an introduction from the woman, and inwardly she chided her tongue for making a fool of herself.

Rumia stared at Aelun for a bit. Kings were important people right? She should probably be polite.

"Hi. I'm Rumia."    she greeted, smiling at him in a decidedly casual manner. Morag seemed decidedly less interested, crouching down into a resting position and ignoring everyone else present.    "What kind of toast will it be? I like grilled cheese personally."

Dojo, Vandalon, Leviathan,

"Earth, huh?" Mordran didn’t say it, but he’d come to a certain conclusion upon hearing their stories, more specifically, their use of “Earth” rather than “Terra”: these three people were not from the same universe with which he was familiar. Multiverse theory…the old man’s gonna get a kick outta this,

They found themselves at the end of the tunnel at last, light engulfing the group; light from the local star bouncing off the icy landscape before them, and light from the bright and pale sky above. They descended down a path sandwiched between two frozen hills and came to a flat and open plain, stepping out from the hills and into a desolate town.

The homes were simplistic in fashion, mere half-spheres made from some sort of metal raised from the ground with bulging doorways and round halls connecting them to other soft-featured structures. The roads were long forgotten, buried under layers of snow, and several towers rose from the white, scattered across the town, with antennae at the tops of their height.

——

Confusion seemed to have crossed Aelun’s face, but he swiftly regarded the perhaps retarded Rumia with a response…ia:    "Not that sort of toast…though if our honored guest wants for grilled cheese, she shall have the greatest grilled cheese in all the lands."    He smiled, and looked back to Luin.    "I hope to see the two of you tonight in the Dragon’s Loft, and in the morning I shall personally arrange a ship for you, my lady, if none are yet available."    He lifted the still-dumbfounded Luin’s hand to his lips and made a quick departure, climbing gracefully onto the back of his own crimson wyvern and departing into the distance.

The crowd that had gathered began to disperse, all save Luin (and perhaps Rumia, if she chose to stick around). The woman had not moved save to let her hand fall limply to her side, feeling heat spread across her face and a strange new sensation in her heart and stomach she’d never felt before.

"…Hum."

——

Cardell staggered forwards as Beruka flipped onto her hands, grip failing as he lost his balance. The teacher was quick to regain control over himself, but by then Beruka was already across the mat again and well out of reach. His surprise at her adeptness came in the form of a quick chuckle, and he began circling and explaining once more.

"When we arrived in the Arena, we found ourselves faced with all manner of threats, far greater in number and variety than the ones back at home. But perhaps most familiar among them…the Rogue God, Æternus."

The teacher’s expression seemed to change, ever so slightly…a scowl was worn on his lips, his eyes cast with distaste. "We battled the Rogue God as he attempted to build a corporeal form for himself, and slayed many of his followers along the way. The greatest of them was Dar’Rhagel, the Warrior-King. A long and violent battle between he and the greatest fighters of the Children of Man followed. For many days and many nights it raged, and in the end, none survived. His power was too great; had it been allowed to escape his body as he died, it would’ve ravaged the world, shadows of his strength taken new form as evil spirits. And so we channeled it into seven runes, over which we kept careful watch.

"Not long after, the war against the Rogue God came to its end. And in its conclusion, we took on the burden of a deadly secret…nobody outside of the Children of Man knew how we defeated Æternus, and we realized we needed to ensure it remained that way. If the truth was learned..it could enable the Rogue God’s return. So, we faded. Our objective had changed; we were no longer defenders of mankind—the Arena was in no short supply of them—but rather, keepers of this last secret.

"We stopped being relevant to the greater going-ons of the Arena, but from the shadows we watched. There were moments where the threat of the Arena’s destruction tempted us, to be sure, but through it all we remained hidden. We made our homes in secluded mountain bases, reported back to by the people we hid in the general public, and always, always waited for the day the truth was inevitably learned; wishing it would never come, but knowing it would. We were, unfortunately, right. But…"

Cardell suddenly rushed Beruka with a foot aimed at the side of her left thigh. Should the attack connect he’d quickly follow it up by way of a spinning kick, making use of his other leg, that sped towards her right arm, just above the elbow.

"I’ll wager you’re not much interested in all that, huh? Ancient history, after all.."

"An understandable jump, to say the least. The risk disappears, and so does your fear. Yet this place has rarely shown that same kindness to me when I knock at death's door."

Filia pauses, taking a few steps away from Omega.

"Something tells me I only have one life here, much to the contrary for others."

Flourishing her father's blade, Filia raises her blade to the first defensive position, planting her gaze on Omega. A peculiar expression falls on her face, her otherwise neutral expression sinking to one of focus, an insidious glint stretching across her iris.

"I'm not sure how fast you can move, and I'd rather not start this by skewering you if you can't keep up. You first."

Filia - A Fight of Biblical Nomenclature

Prev Kramp

Prev Irish

Filia stumbled backward as Kain's arms exploded, small chunks of frozen, decrepit flesh pelting her for a moment. She grunts, annoyed as Kain continues to endure, eyeing the spraying blood with supreme suspicion and stepping away from the corrupted man as the jetting crimson's fluidity shifts, amalgamating into terrible whips. Filia examined the length of the lashes, ascertaining it'd be impossible not to get clipped while moving away, uncertain if she could even avoid having severe damage done to her.

Yet she held a confidence that this was a play of desperation by Kain, her eyes planting on his foul lips as they split open to shout what Filia hoped his final words would be. Releasing a breath just as Kain's feet begin to move straight at her, Filia's nerves calm, bracing herself for the pain.

Filia shoots her arms out to willingly accept being struck by the whips, coiling her hands tightly around them. The razors sunk deeply into the flesh of her arms, and Filia screamed with a mixture of pain and fury. Kain would immediately notice the lack of blood pouring from the wounds, but as the demoness's skin erodes, it's revealed she's frozen the blood flow to her arms entirely, not giving Kain a single drop.

The demoness yanks Kain toward her with all her demonic might, a blinding light pouring forth from everywhere on her body that faced the corrupted man. A dense azure blankets the region for an instant before the loud crackling of thunder heralds the unleashing of a concentrated flurry of lightning into Kain, aiming to burn him to ashes, completely and utterly.

Raex - A False Rapture

A vindicating feeling for the templar's righteous fury rose in his heart as the dark crimson poured from Malagor, but Raex was not so foolish as to expect this to be the killing blow. The soft chuckling of Malagor is met by a glare from Raex the Dark Omen can not see, the templar's eyes widening at Malagor's counter, leaping away from the beast-man. Raex is revolted by Malagor's disregard for his body, but not in any way that inhibits his capabilities. As his greatsword comes sailing toward him, Raex leans out of the way, coiling a hand around the pommel as it nearly went by the templar. A golden flame erupts from Raex's palm, spreading quickly up the blade to purge the black blood of Malagor, dissipating an instant later.

As Raex lowered his blade to the ground to prepare for another attack, he caught the slightest glimpse of fear within the Dark Omen. His brow furrowed, a surging confidence swiftly building within the templar at the sight. Just as he's about to take off in a blur, the sky is sundered by a force beyond most mortal's comprehension, an endless swirl of colors reflecting off Raex's armor. What Raex's iron mind could ascertain his human eyes could not, the terrible, unfathomable beasts looking like little more than precisely that. Their roars pierced his ears and echoed endlessly within his mind, yet they did not unnerve him; nothing could.

As the endless Chaos in the sky dimmed slightly, Raex's gaze wandered back to Malagor, his ultimate surrender to the eternal death and destruction sickening the templar. He began to move toward whatever had taken hold of Malagor's body, a slow march so Raex could more easily observe the sudden transformation of the stone to what he believed were false idols. Devils, he believed, yet he did not understand the depths of power these Gods of Chaos possessed. Even as the landscape warped in nigh unfathomable fashion, Raex's anger swelled, his eyes moving to the shrine.

"Whatever rapture you hope to force upon this world will not come to pass. Your vessel is of flesh. No matter how much power courses through him, whether you raise his blades yourselves, it will be trivial. Face us yourselves, or watch as your plans crumble to rubble."

His taunting rant no doubt falls on deaf ears, yet the templar speaks as if any of these gods could hear him. Done observing, he moves to assist his allies, taking off in a blitz of speed, a golden blur shining bright against the burning iris of Chaos incarnate. Melia's cry for the group to hold out while she channeled an assault that could perhaps slay Malagor's flesh.

Yet even as Raex's focus was to be on Malagor, his eyes darted to the shrine, twin divine beams erupting from his eyes at it, carrying with it the strength of his faith and fury to destroy the stone. These same swelling emotions carry forward Raex's hands as he moves to the side of Malagor, channeling divine light into his blade in an attempt to cleave Chaos incarnate in twain.

Jax

Jax chuckles boisterously, twirling his lamp, having become one with his commanding feeling, no longer fighting against it. Rushing forward at the Pymli, he smashes the head of his lamp right into it.

"This is amazing!, so many to smash! Come on, who wants a piece of the champ?!"

He shouts with a laugh.

Kratos

Kratos raises a quizzical brow at Deedede's recognition of the dark slop that's corrupted these monsters but elects not to comment. With the first bit of this collected, Kratos hopes this will spell the beginning of the end for whatever is causing this. The God of War begins to move to leave, grumbling.

"Call on me again when you have news, with the source of these beast's afflictions obtained, tracking the source should be a top priority."

SDM

Sora heads out, and Meiling goes with him.

"Hey, what are you up to?"

"I'm the guard. I have to get back to my job."

"Without a break?"

"That was my break."

"Yeesh, that's rough. Maybe...take more breaks?"

They reach the outside. "No thanks. Have fun out there."

"Okay, bye!" And with that, Sora is OFFICIALLY gone.

Game

Emma calls forth Shield Wall, giving the party a free no-damage hit. The Swan Flight wipes out one of the charging Pymlis.

The Shield Wall is consumed by the remaining one's Shocking Caress. Charlie activates Music Box as a counter again, healing the team's residual Electric Tile damage.

But don't think this means they're in the clear. There are more Electric Tiles now, and they deal automatic damage once again. Emma regenerates after getting zapped by the one beneath her.

60/100 Biomass

The Wind Caller

Past Alear, holding back tears, scoops Marth's ring off the ground. She brings up her trembling hands, cupping one around the other and bringing them to her chest. "I...I'm sorry. That I lost myself for a moment..."

Legendary Alear puts her hand over Past Alear's. "Don't be. It's okay to let it out. You can't heal your heart's wounds if you don't bare them."
She turns around. "Now, I assume most of you would like an explanation as to who the Neo Shepherds and Kirrey are. If you do, come with me."

Reyna ejects from the Wyvern Esper, landing on her feet and running up to the others. "Nah. I already gave them most of the story."

"Oh, okay."

"Wait, I didn't get that," Nik interjects. "Did something happen to the Shepherds?"

"Long story, but in a nutshell, yeah. Most of the original Shepherds got sent back to their own worlds. The remnants either just wander the Arena now or joined their successors' ranks."

Tropique

Thor may not be planning on letting himself get noticed by Myth!Thor and Sarah, but Iris, who's flying up higher, notices the battle and becomes intrigued. Once she sees who's fighting and recognizes one of them, she descends towards Thor.

"Hey, your red-haired variant is out there. Isn't this a good time to inform him about Odin?"

Game

The Mimic Ball activates, trying to use Evan's Swan Flight on another Pymli. As well as Jax's strike to send a holographic recreation of Jax slamming his lamp towards another Pymli.

Lastly, it renews Shield Wall, though that won't stop the electric damage from getting through. Evan and Gregory get zapped again, getting more damage.

"We're gonna need those potions soon at this point.", Gregory says. "Everyone who can heal should get one, and then they should heal everyone who can't heal others."

"But won't we run out of them if we do that? We won't have any for the other bosses."

"Lolbit will probably have more in his... er... her... their shop anyway."

Gregory moves closer to El Mirage's location and Grape selects Call-on-Freddy to try to send it at one of the Pymlis around him. The Mimic Ball will repeat this action.

Cassidy takes a look at Evan's newly unlocked 'Void' attack. 'Traps everyone in darkness, blinding them' is its description. At this point she's wisened up and knows this likely affects the whole group as well. While she'd like to unlock Evan's other attacks as fast as possible, she's not gonna select Void unless she knows for sure it won't cost them dearly.

As such, while Evan moves a bit closer (but not as close as Gregory), Cassidy has him select Bite. Evan sends a Nightmare Fredbear towards the nearest Pymli, and Mimic Ball repeats the attack.

Sam tries to make Emma move closer to the Pymlis as well and, once close enough, will try to select Form Change and combo it into Drill Rush, trying to let her regain Biomass.

Wind Caller

Now that Past Alear is calmer, Macuil turns around, letting out a tired and somewhat pained-sounding groan.

"You do not have to go-"

"I stand by my words. I will not help you fight another war.", Macuil says, leaving no room for argument. "You have my blade. You'll have to make do with it."

"B... but you're not in a good state to go alone.", Flayn says. "It may take a while with your wounds, but I can heal you."

Macuil looks back at her.

"I appreciate that, but I will be fine.", he says, some fondness in his otherwise tired and bitter voice.

There's a brief glow from behind the group, and but a few seconds later the Immovable, now also transformed into a green-haired human, walks past them and to Macuil.

"I am too old and tired to aid you in your efforts, as I've said before. But I can still make sure Macuil makes it out of the desert alive."

"I have no need for companionship, Indech."

"Then I shall leave you be once you have recovered."

A bit of silence, then Macuil looks away.

"Fine. ... Seiros."

She turns to look at him.

"Despite everything, I wish you the strength to move on as well."

Seiros does not respond to him, instead turning to look back at Past Alear.

"If you so desire, once we have found the Neo Shepherds, I can train you and help hone your skills.", she offers, smiling.

Macuil and Indech glance at each other, the latter looking somewhat sad. After that, they nod to the group as a way to say goodbye and start to walk away. Seteth nods back while Flayn speaks up and waves after them.

"I hope to see you again some day!"

Seteth now turns to look at Nicole and nods.

"I suppose there is no use in denying it. I will not tell you everything, but I will tell you some details. Note that this is not out of any form of distrust towards you personally, I would say you have earned my trust at this point. But I do not wish to risk any chance of anyone else learning about our secrets."

He nods.

"Once we leave for your allies, the Neo Shepherds, I will indulge you all in what we are comfortable sharing."

Jax

Jax isn't showing it, but the Grandmaster at Arms has taken a healthy beating since the fight began. He looks to the kids, struggling and discussing healing. The man grunts a bit as he turns his head to them.

"I can take it, focus on yourselves.

He's putting on a tough act, but his ultimate ability will clear out most of these enemies. Speaking of, his lamp is flaming hot, and he can feel that whatever limitations were preventing him from using his most powerful ability have been lifted. Twirling his lamp overhead as he moved somewhere that would allow him to strike at the most Pymlis possible, Jax shouts with all his might.

"NEVER ONE TO LOSE!"

He tightly coils the lamp and slams it as hard as he can onto the ground, flame spilling fourth from his lamp to strike as many of the Pymlis as possible.

While Iris isn't loud, especially next to the lightning chaos happening over their heads, Sarah is a very attentive listener. And while she can't quite multi-manage the task of looking out for people while actively fighting Thor, the brief lull in the fighting has caused her to hear grass being stamped out from beneath Thor's feet, the slight metallic song of his flesh resting on Mjolnir's steel, the slight fluttering of Iris's wings, Iris's voice, talking about Odin.

Sarah would've stopped the fight at any of those. But this one especially causes her to briefly freeze up in shock. And as Thor charges her way, she decides to cross her arms in front of her face. Obstensibly for blocking, but it helps her signal the fight is over. It also happens that THOR being THOR means that Sarah sees the need to have the fight-ending signal also be a block, in case he doesn't stop swinging.

She's barely correct to do it : his hammer hit her arms dead-on, the shockwave causing the clones around her to explode and clearing out the lightning all around the two of them, sparing the sky and installing a dire silence. There's people below. I'll see what they're up to but you know the rules when they're around, right?

BAH! YOU MADE THOSE UP! I WAS OVERWHELMING YOU!

Like hell you were. Sarah glances at where Thor and Iris are and simply float down there, descending at very high speed but stopping a few feet above the ground, and doing a much softer landing. Despite what she just heard, she keeps her cool. She's not sure as to how THOR would react to what they could be saying.

Hi, Thor, Iris! I guess I should've been more careful scouting out this place before the fight! Good thing I've got good hearing and eyes, huh? She says, putting her hand on the back of her ears, subtly warning them of what she has heard. Because THOR drops in right after, massive figure briefly wreathed in lightning as only the barest hint of his silhouette and beard can be seen.

The entire island trembles and seemingly briefly tip as he makes a much more dynamic entrance than Sarah, thunder accompanying the shaking of the land. Sarah has the strength to keep herself rooted in place, looking annoyed at THOR's dynamic landing. Such that she just slap him in the back of the head while he's doing that, with enough force to apparently offset the shaking of the land.

This does nothing to robs THOR of his mystique though, the god standing tall over the three gathered here.

YES HELLO SMALLER THOR AND IRIS

YOU WOULD DO WELL TO BE CAREFUL IN DWELLING IN LANDS THAT WE AND SARAH ARE RESHAPING! He laughs. COULD THERE BE SOME SORT OF DRAMATIC TEMPLE SEALED DEEP WITHIN THIS ISLAND?!

Sarah says nothing as THOR does THOR things, but she tilt her head to the side, being quizzical as to what's going on.

BAM, BAM, BAM. A lot of powerful attacks go off, and those that aren't powerful (see Evan's Bite) still soften up the enemies to be finished off by Grandmaster-at-Arms. Each one bursts in a satisfying explosion of purple smoke.

What remains are a few scattered Pymlis that aren't close to the party, and three that remain in their starting position, surrounding El Mirage so the party can't reach it.

70/100 Biomass

Charlie's Terror finally wears off. Immediately, Delilah has her get as close to El Mirage as she can and start charging up Righteous Wrath, a move she hasn't selected before.

"Jax, try waiting your turn until El Mirage is exposed, then getting in its face and using Counter Strike. Maybe you can use its high stats against it!"

Robyn blinks, immediately noticing that Indech certainly didn't look especially ancient in his humanoid form.

"Well... he sure is awfully strappin' for someone his age..."

Once Indech and Macuil have taken their leave, she glances at Legendary Alear.

"Appreciate the offer, lassie, but Nicole here already filled me in on everythin'."

-

"I'll tell you the whole story behind that business later, Glali," Nicole assures Nik. "Me and Ban were kinda there for all of it."

Her gaze then flickers to Seteth, and she offers him a respectful nod.

"That's fine with me, dude," the Arcane half-dragon replies. "And before I forget, do any of you guys know Sothis? Long-as-hell green hair, black robe-looking dress, looks like a little girl and talks all old-timey because she's actually an ancient goddess."

Thor shows Iris an annoyed scowl. So much for passing by unnoticed and continuing the search for the people they were actually seeking out.

"Damn it, Iris, I thought I told you I didn't want to talk to that blowhard," he hisses under his breath. "Come on, let's keep moving before he-"

Then Sarah and Myth!Thor arrive on the scene, much to his chagrin. Sighing with exasperation, he turns to glare directly at Myth!Thor through glowing blue electric eyes, looking completely unintimidated as he holds a sparking Mjolnir aloft.

"You'll find that I have nothing to say to you, you vain, greedy, cruel little boy. Now, kindly do us both a favor and get the bloody Hel out of my sight," Thor snarls bitterly, thunder booming and rumbling in the sky overhead. "I'm in absolutely no mood to tolerate any of your insufferable shit right now."

Game

The Mimic Ball mimics Jax's fire-wave-yielding slam attack, as well as Drill Rush. Though the Mimic Ball using it will not restore any Biomass. But these attacks probably reached the Pymlis prior to them grouping up around El Mirage.

"Alright, those punks are finally getting to the boss!" , Monty cheers.

"Don't cheer too soon, we have no guarantee that their plan will be able to break through his stats.", Noah reminds him.

"They don't have any attacks that negate defense so if this doesn't work I don't think anything will.", Mike says.

Cassidy selects Bite again, Grape selects Call-on-Freddy again, and Sam selects Drill Rush again. Pretty basic, but if it works, it works.

Mimic Ball mimics all three attacks again too.

Tropique

Despite the soft landing, Iris is still taken somewhat by surprise by Sarah landing due to the speed at which she did so.

She's about to respond to Sarah when THOR drops in and has her recoil-jump despite the fact that she wasn't even standing on the ground. The Deliderp, which was situated in her arms all this time, is accidentally tossed upwards and sent flying.

"Good gods if I had a heart I'd have what I've heard humans call a 'heart attack'.", she says, not even having noticed the absence of the small derpy bird.

She looks at Thor now, but then notices that he isn't all too happy right now.

"H-how was I supposed to know they could hear me talk from all the way over there!"

When Thor proceeds to get mad at THOR though (to the point of verbal hostility), Iris starts looking concerned and flies in front of Thor.

"Hey, even if you don't like each other we shouldn't start picking fights, especially when we still have a lot of people to search for!", she admonishes. "He didn't really say anything wrong to us, did he?"

Beat

"I mean I guess he could've landed more softly but is that a reason to go off like that?", she asks, genuinely confused. She's clearly gathered that Thor does not like his counterpart ''at all', but she's also not used to Thor reacting in such a way to anyone. She's seen him react in a calmer way towards actual enemies.

I mean... the fact that Iris is the one trying to de-escalate this before it even has a chance to fully escalate when she's known to be reckless should say enough.

Meanwhile, THOR may just be amused enough by the sight of the Deliderp falling back down and dropping into the sand right in front of him to not feel too insulted.

"Oh, okay. It sounds fun."    she comments to Aelun as he leaves. Why would she say no to free food. She then looks over to Luin.    "What about you? Are you gonna go?"

Solopost, The Sapphire Star vs the Black Dragon

Somewhere in the Deadlands, The Island. Within view of Passwatch.

In the skies over the mountains, a black dragon soared. The so called one-eyed Black Dragon, Kalameet. Its orange eye-like emblem glowed malevolently as its true eyes scanned the terrain, searching for prey to kill. It focused on Passwatch briefly but a booming roar in the skies drew its attention.

Soulstealer Xeno'Jiiva landed on a nearby mountain, spreading his wings wide and roaring in challenge. When Kalameet roared back and dove down, Soulstealer almost seemed to smirk before flying up to meet the other dragon. They clashed in mid-air, claw against claw, as they tried to force the other out of the sky with brute force. They broke apart only to simply charge back in once more, this time sending a shockwave from the impact.

Both dragons glared into each others eyes, neither using their breath attacks yet due to still gauging their foe. Eventually, Soulstealer pumped energy from his malevolent heart directly into his wings, forcing them to begin plummeting with Kalameet below him. Kalameet thrashed to escape the grapple, managing to flip their positions briefly but in the end the two dragons crashed below on their sides.

From the dust, Soulstealer emerged first, glaring down at Kalameet as he too recovered. Kalameet drew his breath in, flames charging and Soulstealer snorted. He was practically immune to flame attacks so he thought little of the obvious incoming attack. Had he any eyebrows he would have raised them at the black flames but soon he was caught off guard. Namely by feeling actual pain, snarling at the flames not hurting via heat but some unknown force. Little did he know the Black Dragon's flames contained Abyssal magic.

Soulstealer stumbled back, flapping to get out of Kalameet's reach. The Black Dragon seized the opening and charged, swinging his tail like a mace to smack the Immortal Emperor in the face. Soulstealer hissed in anger but inwardly smirked. Kalameet was in his range now. Soulstealer dug his forelimbs in the ground, pumping bioenergy into the earth which soon exploded underneath Kalameet.

This time the Black Dragon snarled in pain, forced back and recovering in time to see Soulstealer charging at him. He attempted to use his flame breath again but Soulstealer's more dexterous claws grabbed the Black Dragon's jaws and forced them closed. The two dragons grappled once more but Soulstealer held the edge here, not reliant solely on his mouth to channel his elemental attacks. His back leg crackled with energy before he kicked Kalameet, an accompanying burst of bioenergy lending extra force.

Kalameet's third "eye" glowed and a high pitch noise disoriented Soulstealer, forcing him to let go and be headbutted back. Kalameet might be unable to lift him telekinetically but the Mark of Calamity was still enough to stun the other dragon. His black breath struck Soulstealer once more and the Elder Dragon began to grow tired of this.

He backed away before energy pulsed from his heart towards his mouth. He pulled his head back before spitting out a beam of white energy, piercing through the Black Dragon's tainted breath and right into its face. It roared in pain, stumbling back and using its forelimbs to shield its face. Soulstealer kept pushing forward, forcing Kalameet on the defensive until his attack stopped.

Kalameet shook off the pain and glared at his foe, noticing Soulstealer was now flying low to the ground, energy visibly pulsing across its body. Unsure what this meant, Kalameet flew up as well and spat out more abyssal flames. Soulstealer grit his teeth but let the attack hit him, he was preparing a final strike after all. Blue flames snaked along the ground, as if waiting for something.

Kalameet looked almost confused at his foe simply flying in place like that, not even dodging. Eventually he stopped, not having infinite stamina. Soulstealer was injured but Kalameet's eyes widened at what the Sapphire Star held in his jaws. A small sphere of energy, like a tiny blue star, slowly falling out of the Elder Dragon's mouth and towards the ground.

The world seemed to grow silent as the small star touched the ground. Then, it burst. Like a miniature supernova that engulfed them both.

From the now smoke ridden battlefield, Soulstealer emerged unscathed. A far cry from his foe. The Black Dragon Kalameet groaned as he tried to get on his feet only to collapse back down, scales scorched even further black by the Sapphire of the Emperor. Soulstealer casually strode up to his opponent and crouched down. Begrudgingly he had to admit this beast's power intrigued him.

So much that he was going to make it his. Digging his claws into Kalameet's hide, he began directly draining the other dragon's very life force. Kalameet tried to thrash but found himself becoming weaker and weaker. Soulstealer could sense something different about this dragon's life force but that just made him hunger for it even more; energy crackling around them.

Any Lizardmen or Elves who came to investigate would find the dread Black Dragon Kalameet's corpse in the middle of a burnt crater. Curiously, no scavenger dared to come near it. It soon became obvious why to even untrained eyes. Nothing remained but a completely lifeless husk, stripped of all energy and life force to leave nothing for even the most desperate scavenger.

Over at Avar-laren, Soulstealer roosted in the ruined city. He flexed his right claw, watching the dark energy dance in it. How very interesting. Some gibbering, disgusting humanoid creatures were bickering below. Lousy vermin, but perhaps useful in one way.

Soulstealer breathed in, focusing on this new energy he found himself connected to. He then shot out not his usual energy beams or fire, but a black flame not unlike Kalameet's. The two humanoids turned just in time to find themselves shrieking in agony as the flame burned them more than just physically. By the time it cleared, little remained of them. A third one tried to flee but found itself rooted in place after a high pitched noise, before being flung like a ragdoll by an invisible force.

Yes... He certainly liked these new powers. And couldn't wait to use them against that wretch.

Jumanji, Kain, Weathertop, Vermintide

A primal fear gripped Luin’s heart as she struggled out from the rampaging herd of zebras. She was nearly frozen, stricken with fear…but from her hands dropped the dice anyways, rolling a

4 + 3

Her piece advanced seven spaces and a card fell from the table and in between her fingers as she rose: Steel is truth and death is fax, so good luck surviving this battle axe.

"B-battle a—"

Though she had just risen, she immediately dropped to the floor again as a spinning battleaxe flew through the air over her head, granting the woman a free haircut before exploding against a bookcase and bringing its weight down on her.

——

Kain’s grew nearer, his eyes laughing…laughing…laughing…

They grew wide with shock. She had…how…she knew his plan. Whether she had predicted it, scanned his mind, or had caught upon it simply by luck alone, she had understood his intent and had foiled his effort, her arm devoid of liquid blood and refusing him an opportunity to heal.

Kain was a gambler, he always had been. From the day he was born—not born as any animal was, but truly born into the monstrosity he was—he was a gambler. He gambled at everything because he had nothing left to lose; he hadn’t for the past several thousand years. This battle was no different. Kain had gambled, he’d rolled the dice, he’d gone all in…and he’d lost.

Such is only fair, after all.

Kain’s shock subsided as the snowfields grew alight with blue. The lightning tore through the sky and down upon him, and then began the laughing once more; that awful, horrible, wicked cackle, screaming in delight over the howling of electricity engulfing his form. It did not stop, did not cease even slightly, until what was once Kain was nothing more than a pile of ash upon the snow.

And even then, the laughter echoed off the white mountains.

——

The ball of flame seared the Shockspine’s skin, charring the left side of its maw. On its right, Ammeltunn joined in on the combined efforts of Mark, whose burying and subsequent burning of the rapier elicited a muscle spasm in the Shockspine’s leg and threw it off-balance; of Megumi, whose dagger cut open its hide and drew forth gallons of blood; and of Nick, whose flaming summon instantly (and very, very painfully) cauterized those same wounds. The Lizardman simply chomped down on the monster’s leg, tearing off a considerable amount of flesh. And finally, from above, Nue’s battering forced the creature into a forwards stagger, knocking several shining teeth from its jaws and forcing the beam to a sudden stop as the creature staggered to the side, stunned and dizzied.

It made a confused grunt, stumbled around some more, before turning tail and drunkenly retreated into the depths of the jungle. Some of the lizardmen and wood elves at the tree’s edge moved, as though to follow it, but halted in their tracks when Ammeltunn lifted a lone hand, shimmering a pale gold in the sunlight breaking through the fading storm clouds. He said only one word, soft and faint: "No,"

Finally, there was silence.

The surviving Saurus shuffled forwards from the treeline, accompanied by the elven rangers. Kelena and Kelhorn walked together, daughter and father. They were those who survived, but a regrettable few had not. Over them, Ammeltunn stood. "Vain fools," He lamented, mourning heavy in his sigh. "Why couldn’t you have just listened?"

The iron portcullis sizzled. The metal was still orange with heat, and great clouds of vapor rose from it as those within the fort dumped buckets of water on it, trying to get it to cool down faster so that they may lift it and allow those outside it in once more.

A strange air hovered over the scene. They were successful on this day, and the casualties were thankfully not too great, but for almost everyone here, this had been their first blooding. Aye, they had all trained, most had hunted, and many had fought, but this was their first real battle. For much of their lives all they had known was peace. But now…

Now, winter was coming, and war with it.

——

Its axe swing misses as Azura bounds past its arm, smashing into the stone ground in the same instant the woman’s electric knife smashes through Its skull and into what remains of Its dark and twisted brain.

But that does not stop It. It has grown beyond need of organs, or muscle, or mind. The cold, hard truth: Malagor had failed. He had assembled here a group of warriors he could never hope to defeat: this was his revelation, and in that moment he learned his truth, he surrended himself, finally and totally, to the power of Chaos. What was once his body had become a doll, every square inch of It brimming with the very essence of Chaos Incarnate and Undivided. All around them the storm of Chaos raged and even atop the Stone Fist a storm swirled, but this was a very different storm. Out there, darkness and evil reigned supreme. But here, where the four heroes fought battled the very idea of evil, the storm’s name was Hope.

Weather Report fists pummeled against Its head, blow after blow, punch after punch ripping through the skin and breaking apart the skull with the accompanied and repeating cry of ORAORAORAORA! Only a few moments passed before It stumbled backwards, and yet in that time, what little remained of Its head hung from Its ruined neck, a multicolored mass of flesh and skull fragments and tendons and other assorted viscera; a lone eyeball, dangling from the retina, stared back at Azura from within the gore. Murasa’s anchor smashed into Its side, bringing with it the sound of ribs breaking as It tumbled to the side.

An open palm was outstretched in the direction of Weather Report; another forearm grew from the original and split at the elbow, aiming at Murasa. From both of these blasted green and blue waves of Warp energy, aiming to damage Murasa and disrupt Weather Report. Its twin right arms were blown apart as It did, Malagor’s mortal body simply too weak to handle the power of the magic being used by the Chaos inhabiting it.

The stone eyes shifted to glare at Melia.

DO NOT The words erupted from the air surrounding them, four inhuman voices all speaking in sync to deliver one, united message: Nurgle asked, Slaanesh pleaded, Tzeentch warned, and Khorne demanded. It seemed to move in a flash, standing before Murasa and Azura one moment and in front of Raex the next. His beams of holy power and righteousness burned not into the idol, but into the flesh of the Enemy looming over him.

The stench of charred flesh wafted into the air and mixed with the already putrid smell of a beastman, the rotting odor of Malagor’s walking corpse, and the inexplicable yet awful aura that was the presence of Chaos all around them. From Its stomach erupted several bloody tentacles, all studded in fang-like blades, which lashed at Raex and seek an iron grip on his limbs, aiming to crack his armor and destroy his bones. But It wasn’t done yet; Its entire torso turned, the flesh at Its hips tearing apart so that Its lower half could face one direction and Its upper half facing another. Then, that very same upper half lunged at Melia, an large and multi-segmented centipede-like insect clad in green armor having replaced Malagor’s spine.

With Its left hand, the only one remained, It drove a chop forwards at the woman’s chest, intending to bring this mortal foolishness to a final close. All around them the mutated landscape only crept closer to the town and castle of Hyrule itself, and the rifts in the sky merely grew wider and wider as the creatures beyond threatened to cross the threshold.

Sarah grimaces and prepare to raise her arms to stop THOR from doing something, but Thor just laughs, not even bothered by the smaller Thor's aggravation, of which he was very used with by now.

HAHAHAHAHA! ARE YOU PERHAPS SOUR AT YET ANOTHER REMINDER OF THE GAP IN OUR STRENGTHS?! OR ARE YOU SIMPLY GOING THROUGH ANOTHER SESSION OF SELF-DOUBT? THOR grins, glancing at Thor. He doesn't answer with any lightning on his own, feeling that answering Thor in kind would mean he was acknowledging some level of threat. And it was true that the blond boy was strong, in his own way. His lightning and weaponry had proved themselves against Set.

But still, THOR was confident in his own greater power and weaponry. A BOY?! I AM EONS OLD! MY BODY AND BLOOD WERE SCULPTED FROM THE HALLOWED GROUND OF MIDGARD ONCE ODIN CRAFTED OUR REALM OF EXISTENCE FROM THE CORPSE OF YMIR! YOU ARE BARELY A MILENNIA AND A HALF OLD! IT IS YOU WHO IS THE BOY!

Yeah, no need to blame Iris, big guy. I heard you walking. Sarah shrugs. Again, I've got good ears. She doesn't see fit to talk about what she heard though, deciding it'd be best to get THOR to go elsewhere before talking about this. Thor also seemed to be in a moody period, so she was readying herself for another round of having to talk him down out of some grand idea/goal he had.

You'd be shocked at how oddly... uncommon this particular power is, across all these worlds. It's useful though. Sarah says, scratching the back of her ears. Let's not get into any of the usual di-the usual Mjolnir-comparison contest, ok? THOR, you can go. We'll finish this later.

WHY WOULD I LEAVE? THOR says, sitting back down on the ground, crossing his legs and resting his head on the palm of his hand. He stares at Sarah and the group blithely.

Because your conversations with Thor are never productive and you both know it. Sarah replies, pinching the bridge of her nose. She liked THOR for a lot of things but he could be a real asshole when he wanted to. And at least, Thor was an asshole when there was something wrong going on. Go back up in the sky if you want. I'll lead them to whenever they want to be and I'll be back, alright? You won't even have time to heal your wounds, so you'll have an excuse for when you lose.

THOR simply smiles, sticking his tongue out of his massive red beard. He turns his eyes to Iris, leaning forward and putting his massive chin to rest on the back of his two equally massive hands. His own Mjolnir is left waving back and forth, tied to one of his fingers by one hilt. One amongst many, some meant to tie to his enormous wrist, others to his fingers.

WHAT ARE YOU TAKING THE BOY ON FOR, HM?!

I AM A LITTLE CURIOUS AND I FEEL LIKE HE WILL NOT GIVE ME AN ANSWER

Beruka listens to the whole story still, likewise looking for a hole in his defense while listening to her story. She pondered on something : how much faster she felt when focusing her reinforcement on particular limbs, compared to letting it flow across her whole body. The whole process had been unconscious so far, but she could tell that it was a matter of covering.

If she were to be struck by a punch, she could lower the damage by focusing the energy on the precise area where she was struck, she wagered. And she could likewise amplify her damage output or speed by focusing on specific parts of her body. But there was already a boost when applied to the body as a whole, and putting power somewhere naturally meant taking it from elsewhere, so it wasn't ideal nonetheless.

As Cardell continued with the story, Beruka didn't give it much thought. She sort of "recorded" it to listen to later. The fight mattered more at the moment though, and even with her keeping that mindset, Beruka was still toppled by Cardell yet again, the man succeeding in toppling her. And what's more, he'd managed to successfully predict where she was going to be putting her arm to try and position herself!

Beruka could say she'd planned for it but that was half-right. She'd underestimated his speed - a recurrence she was finding irritating. Planting her arm into the ground, and holding tight, Beruka grunted and clenched her teeth as Cardell's feet slammed into her reinforced arm. Even with her "Cursed" Energy focused into the limb, she could still feel her bone almost snap in two. And that wasn't even like the slam.

It was her full concentrated energy. And she still felt like moving that arm was going to be a struggle for the rest of the fight.

Still, Beruka is able to endure. Her arm might be nearly snapped in half, but she still reception herself. And immediately try dropping unto Cardell, focusing her energy into her leg as she comes down at him with a downward kick, swinging the limb down slightly to add some more oomph to it.

"Ancient" history loves becoming "present" history. Beruka replies.

Filia - Victory

Even as Kain was burned away to nothing, Filia stood tall for a few more defiant moments, the echoing of his laughter burrowing into her mind. Once she was sure he was gone, the demoness fell to her knees, looking down in mild disbelief at her flayed arms. Hell healed all her wounds, but these would take more than a few hours.

"Please be the last time I see you."

She muttered to herself, her arms quaking from the pain. Filia gritted her teeth as her frozen flesh began to thaw, the pain slowly creeping up in intensity. The thawing process accelerates drastically, Filia looking down at the sudden rivers of blood pouring from her arms, surprise mingling with exceptional pain.

She shouts nonsense to cope with the pain as sand begins to coalesce around her form. The sand thickens, a localized sandstorm forming around the demoness until, in an instant, the sand falls, and Filia has disappeared. She returned to hell to recover, no doubt. As the last grains sink into the blood, all goes quiet in this part of Onyxis.

Raex - In Defiance of Chaos

Chaos Incarnate's sudden shift in speed was surprising, the striking scent of decay and death sinking into Raex's helmet. Raex breathed deeply, the foulest stench of minor inconvenience, yet his face twitched subconsciously. The mingling aura of the powers responsible for this wanton slaughter and incomprehensible evil was slightly intoxicating to the templar, cowing his mortal body. As the sudden eruption of tentacles flew at Raex, his eyes widened, an unexpected assault, but not one he was defenseless against.

Raex moved as fast as he could manage, slashing through the first few inches of any of the tentacles he could not outmaneuver, about to counter until the top half of Malagor's manipulated corpse moved to assail Melia. Taking off in a blur of golden light, Raex appears in front of Melia a few moments before the centipede-like insect can reach her. A wire-frame shield appears on his right arm, smashing this divine shield forward at the pointed chop with all his might.

Sparks flew off the non-existent metal, the divine energy of order meeting its match against the quartet of Chaos Gods. Raex was sent sailing backward, flailing through the air and smashing into the stone with a thunderous crack.

Jax

"Solid idea kid!"

Jax responds, raising his lamp and moving toward one of the Pymlis bodyguarding El Mirage. He raises his weapon to strike but withdraws, electing to activate Empower. His lamp's glow flared, prepared to take down this Pymli next round.
