Hub Centralis - Below

There is fire. Cruelty in its basest shape, Ana does not care for flames, her light sharp as a dagger and nowhere as lively. Down here, fires have begun to kick up, the Croqueii no longer able (in the numbers they arrived in) to fight back the devastation. Ana's attack was thermal, blowing down houses and shaking towers and leaving them to burn. Even the reinforcements aren't enough at this stage, the damage is just too extensive.

From the back of the truck, Nia can't see the devastation, but a foul sensation lingers in the ether. She can feel it. More is wrong than just death, here.

However cruel she thought Ana was, she was always crueler. That is Nia's thought.

Above

   "Ha. Ha. Ha."

Ana wheezes in delight and agony as Golden Bat grabs her by the throat. Limp like a puppet in freefall, she hits the ground as hard as he makes her, deliriously absentminded. The ground craters and shakes.

Her eyes snap onto Golden Bat in focus.

"How terribly selfish. But I suppose, you already knew that, didn't you?"

Below

The ground trembles with the might of those who stand as equal to gods. In the backseat of Croque's truck, Nia stands to meet two newcomers of a sort she wishes wasn't so familiar. From the look in their eyes, she suspects they may feel the same way.

She puts on her best, most queenly face. Now is not the time for excessive complaining.

"At least two. A Moebius most likely called "F", saving us from someone who calls herself "Ana". Hers is a horrible presence, one that thinks of torturing us like a hobby. Fighting isn't an option, she's far too powerful to oppose directly."

She sounds like Melia. Almost.

In a flash of light, Ana escapes Golden Bat's grip, the strangling marks of his fingers around her neck still visible on her skin, which looks pallid. Stepping away onto the cracked concrete ground below, a halo of lights appear around her, sharp and angular like stretched-out diamonds. One such light is longer than the rest, the glare of her halo of blades.

She takes the glaring light and holds it by its short end. It is blunt, rugged, invisibly so yet alike to the handle of a sword, and so it is, the other lights arranging themselves orderly to follow the trail of Ana's blade.

She swings it, carving for Golden Bat's head with viscous and uncompromising and obvious force, at the same time cutting level with the horizon on purpose. The faster Golden Bat is hit (or not hit) by this attack, the less people will die. That much is clear, an obvious test, she is trying to make Golden Bat prove his word.

He can either be exactly what she says he is, or take the hit and prove her wrong.

"...But, if those of us who can fight, can stay, we might be able to make a small difference, and save a few lives. Are either of you healers?"

Several people are standing in the middle of the road, blocking the truck's path forward. Granted, Croque could just plow right through them fairly easily, but...

They all seem dazed, stumbling in place like shellshocked soldiers, their eyes glazed over and stained sickly yellow. These victims sport all sorts of injuries major or minor, but notably, they all behave the same way, like the injuries themselves aren't what's bothering them.

All across the range of collateral damage, the story's much the same. People in a daze, eyes a sickly yellow. They don't speak when talked to, but react violently when approached.

As Croque, or any of the others, may quickly find out, should they take a diplomatic route. Not that these dazed victims are of a particular danger to someone of even appreciable power or skill. They'd struggle to harm a small child, let alone a skilled soldier or machine.

...Not that it is any less unnerving a phenomena for it.

Yatta!

Hub Centralis

Croque slows the truck to a stop as Ayona speaks up again.

"I can heal to an extent on my own, but given I have Ryve by my side, we can heal more together. -wait, a Moebius helping people? I don't believe that one. Then again, the other one sounds worse."

Ryve gives a halfhearted thumbs up as Croque looks back.

"Stay here a moment. There's some people in the road, not gonna run 'em over."

She hops out and starts to speak, the speaker in her throat boosting itself as she walks forward.

"Hey! Clear the road every-"

Croque immediately gets swarmed by a small group of dazed people, their off-balance swings thunking off of Croque's reinforced skin. She summons her shield and slams it into the ground, knocking them off balance and back.

"Oh, great..."

Some of them swarm the van. Ryve and Ayona hop out, resummoning their Blades.

"We're trying to not kill them. I've got an idea that make snap them back to their senses... Ayona?"

"Right behind you. Got any way of hitting them while not killing them?"

"Yeah, watch this."

Ryve punches forward towards one of the dazed people... Firing a concussive blast of ether at them and knocking them out. Ayona instead uses her rifle to impart a drowsiness on some of the swarmers, as they both work in unison. As they fall into a rhythm, though...

"You ready?"

"Let's do this."

Ryve dashes back at Ayona... and both fade into a blue light- that fades into two points of golden light that quickly converges into a sphere. One that may be familiar to Nia, but not to Croque, who gets momentarily distracted- enough for one of the swarmers to try and hit her. It doesn't work. Quickly appearing around this sphere is specifically Ayona's Ouroboros form- a gleaming white frame with four floating 'cannons' around it. The rest is adorned with flowing white fabrics, though the arms and legs are black in color. Notably, it's rather sleek and not overly showy- like the person who it was willed from.

Ayona uses the built-up energy from before they Interlinked to extend a healing field to both their allies and the dazed people- hopefully the healing would let them shake off this influence.

"We might not be able to fight the main threat head on this time, but healing is something we know how to do!"

Meanwhile, Nil has deployed some drones around the edge of the van that either sweep swarmer's legs or lightly shock them.

"I-I'm not a frontline fighter..! You guys do your thing!"

Nil is also diligently working on sending orders from the troops being deployed from the Paradiso.

...

Speaking of which, the ship is at full power, and multiple squads of medics have been sent to help people in the area. Most are equipped with Arts devices, letting them use magic-styled healing to heal those they come across. Leading this is Warfarin, who's speaking orders over comms. She's overlooking the medical efforts from the medical bay on the ship, given she's better suited to triage than a certain cat.

"Prioritize getting all the civilians stable and on the Paradiso. We don't need unnecessary casualties from trying to treat them in the field. If the Doctor alerts you to an energy surge, you get moving."

Other teams have been sent out to extract those trapped by rubble and guide people to teleporter stations along the routes. More DL-Croqueii are being deployed to shift rubble as well- though some are carrying parts to form more energy shields. Once assembled, they'll be stronger than the one at the first camp- not to say they still won't break, but it'll take more than a quick blow to destroy it.

The Paradiso is a different story. It uses both high-grade shields and ultra-dense armor- taking it down would be an endeavor in and of itself. Not to mention fields that dampen or disrupt most forms of teleportation unless properly calibrated. How? Some form of Originium tech.

Not that it can't be destroyed. It'll just take much longer. And by then, it could just leave.

Fort Dawnguard, Solopost Continued

"So... that's how this arena works. And I thought my daughter coming back in time was complicated..." Chrom says, mentally exhausted at vincent's long, winding description.

"That's about it, yes. It... took me a bit to wrap my head around it too."

"I'll just trust what you're saying. Honestly, It's probably just the best to not worry about it, but... Robin, Luina... are they..."

"If you suddenly went missing, the history books would say so. That's not how things end for you. You'll be reunited with your wife and daughter.... In fact, do you want to hear how your reign ends?"

Chrom shakes his head. "I'd rather not. When it comes to how things end for me, All I need to know is that I get to see my family, Friends, and brothers and sisters in arms again."

Vincent Chuckles. "By naga, you and Mar couldn't be more different with how you answer that."

"Mar..?"

"Prince Marth the fifth. My brother. The one who just punched you in the face, stormed out of the room, and left the falchion, his gun, and his armor lying here in this room."

"Why would he do that, anyways?"

"You know exactly why. And, as Someone who was going to have a controversial mairrage myself... I can't blame you for doing so, but I also understand why he'd punch you."

"I love robin. I will. Always love Robin. And the same goes for my daughter. And I trust if my generation can defeat the fell dragon, So can later generations. I have no regrets."

"I... Hoped you wouldn't say that. But I knew you would..."

Vincent reaches into a holster in his outfit... and pulls out a machine pistol, pointing it at chrom.

"Wh... What is that?"

"This Is a weapon pointed at you. One pull of the trigger, and you'll be riddled with lead."

"And... is what I said enough of a reason for you to kill me?"

"I had to kill my own father due to your mairrage with the vessel, and I had to Lie to my people and call it a suicide so there wasn't a panic. And... Because he asked me to..."

Chrom looks Vincent in the eyes. "Vincent?"

"Something went wrong. The royal guard was infiltrated by the grimeal. They... Surrounded my father. Beat him to an inch of his life, and... and then they tried to use the fire emblem for a ritual to ressurect grima. I had to kill men who I thought I knew for most of my life. And... It was almost too late. The ritual was nearly complete. My father , in his last words, asked me to take his life, to stop the fell dragon from coming back, and not to let the people worry. So I..."

Vincent, his usual formal demeanor breaking down even further, begins to cry.

"I took the Falchion, and plunged it into his heart. I couldn't bring myself to touch the blade again, so I selfishly handed it over to my brother. And to honor my father's last wish, I lied. I lied to my people, I Lied to my brother. And I have no idea how to smooth things over with him. And... Mar's right. It IS your fault."

Chrom, following Robin's actions in a similar situation, opens himself up for attack, saying "Vincent, I... Never knew it would come to this. I still do not regret my love for my wife, but to see this happen... If it makes you feel better, pull the trigger. Maybe it won't fix anything, but if it will help you move on..."

"You offered your life to a Man you just met. I... I can't..."

Vincent drops the gun and begins to cry uncontrolably.

Chrom gives vincent a shoulder to lean on.

"Please... Don't tell my brother. I don't think he'll ever forgive me. Or Himself. I can't risk losing him too."

Chrom nods.

Hmm, 'don't seem threatening'. Her counterpart would probably disagree, which makes Marisa frown ever so slightly but she quickly hides it behind her usual confident smirk. Ah well, she probably wouldn't need to get involved with this guy's world anyway so it's not really a lie to agree with him.

"A fight just for fun huh? Been a while since I got to have one of those."    she says, looking a bit nostalgic.    "Hope my non-lethal bullet patterns aren't too rusty."

"But first lemme just."    she says before whistling. After a bit, a small winged snake-like black dragon flies in, touching down next to Marisa before partially coiling around her to rest. It made it look like its wings were her own.    "Astra would have gotten mad if I had fun without her."

"Alright, let's do this!"

SPO!Asriel's spear tip lights up with a rainbow hue. He sweeps it, casting semi-homing orbs of energy at his opponents. Then he twirls his spear as his left eye glows orange. "Now, you have to move through orange attacks to avoid them. I'm telling you that because this is a spar."

He thrusts forward and launches a conical shockwave at Marisword, wide enough that escaping the shockwave outright is basically impossible. If she tries to stand her ground and block it, she'll take full damage, but if she just keeps moving, she won't get hit, even when the shockwave fully engulfs her. Of course, he hasn't accounted for teleportation, but don't be a poor sport, eh?

   "Nn."

Golden Bat is decapitated by Ana's slash, her first hit to deal any semblance of damage... but his hand reaches up and catches his head.    "Daga, ware wa tomerarenai ryoku de ari, fudou no buttai da!"

His severed head cackles further at her before he reattaches it, the gold healing over the cut with a little help from Ayona. He shoots a ray of energy from the tip of his scepter, sweeping it across Ana's head to try and decapitate her right back. Although, his magic isn't as powerful as his brute strength.

Someone also arrives to help those on the ground. It's the angel Vera, in full gold-trimmed armor, her eyes glowing white. "Well... I can help heal their minds, at least."

If the physical healing of the civilians won't help their madness, she'll use White Magic blessings to pull that off.

ACT>SPO!Asriel>Flame

Chara holds their hands apart slightly, focusing to draw a flame into existence, that they then send flying at Asriel.

-1 MP from using Flame. 3/4.

Chara then moves to dodge the orbs- one noticeable thing is both their soul and IF!Frisk's soul are much smaller than usual. They manage to dodge all of them- seems they've had a lot of experience.

(IF!Frisk)

*Colored attacks? That gives me an idea.

ACT>Press Button

IF!Frisk presses a button on the side of their phone. Suddenly..!

It morphs into an arm cannon. IF!Frisk sends a blue light from it in a cone, stopping the projectiles in front of them and absorbing them into the cannon. They only manage three, though.

Gained 3 charge. 3/5. (3 normal.)

They do get hit from using it too late once, though.

3 damage to IF!Frisk. 7/10.

"Oh? Danmaku you're supposed to go through? I'll admit that's new."    Marisa said, raising an eyebrow. Dodging semi-homing projectiles is practically second nature to her so she avoids those with ease. Part of her is distrusting of the idea of just going through the orange magic but hey, if he lied she'll just pull out one of her more bullshit spell cards.

To her surprise it does work, huh.

She looks at the other group. Seems they're focusing on Asriel instead of her.

A Kirisame trademark grin makes its appearance on her face. Big mistake.

"Hmm, since we're just starting out. I think I'll use one of my old cards."    she says, sheathing her hakkero sword.

   Magic Sign "Milky Way"

She twirls her finger and several star shaped projectiles appear around her. With another gesture, the projectiles glow and begin firing out spiral shaped trails of further star projectiles around her. There's gaps in between the spiral trails, giving it the shape of a galaxy, but those trying to simply hide between those moving trails will find smaller star projectiles flying their way like a meteor shower. There's space to dodge in between but it will take some agility.

Marisa remains at the center of it all until the spell card times out and she gives a cheeky wink.

SPO!Asriel dances around his foes' attacks, batting away Chara's flame, then spinning his spear to deflect Marisa's bullet storm. When it gets too thick to simply stand and block, he starts running at Marisa, dashing and flipping through the star shots. A few hit him, but he doesn't let it stop him. Once at close range, he does another gratuitous spear-spin before thrusting forward at Marisa. "Hah!"

A rainbow aura surrounds his spear tip, which may seem like it's making the stab stronger but is actually like a protective wrapping, dulling the impact so he doesn't potentially skewer her. He throws a flurry of additional jabs, finishing with a horizontal sweep.

Babey Mansion

Alear wakes up to the sound of battle outside. She sits up, gets out of bed, and goes through her daily motions of bathing herself and donning her armor. She does that even on ordinarily peaceful days.

As she looks outside her bedroom window, she sees something that makes her heart stop beating. Her eyes go wide, and her hands, once holding the curtain apart, fall slack.

"GHARGH!"    she hears a horrible sound from elsewhere inside. They've made it in. It's too late to sneak out. She's paralyzed as her door bashes down and a walking, mutated corpse with demonic armor stands in the frame.

Her voice is caught in her throat. Unable to scream like all her siblings did when this same fate stared them down...

A dozen blades suddenly stick out through the Corrupted's chest and swing outwards, tearing it in half to reveal N behind it. "Yo, Alear, you okay? These freaks just started attacking us!"

"... I... know what they are," Alear struggles to say.

"... You're not okay, are you?"

She shakes her head, and N offers his hand. "I'll get you out of here."

They rush outside, through a ruined dining hall and main entrance, to the battlefield around the mansion. The Corrupted are everywhere. Refia, the Iron Maiden, and Josie are helping to fight. A strange girl in a multicolored outfit is there, painting weapons and creatures into existence to attack the monsters. There are other undead as well. Alear can barely make out their appearance through her sweat and tears, but unlike the Corrupted, they wear the same armor they had in life but with horrifying masks.

As they run, Alear hears a voice.    "It has been some time, runaway defect."

Sombron appears before Alear and N, his very presence unleashing a shockwave that knocks them back, the former tumbling over herself. He approaches Alear's prone form, brandishing a tome of foul magic.    "I have come to take back what you stole. Now stay down, relinquish my ring, and die for me like a good little girl."

OmegaShadowcry

From up behind Sombron came the sound of footfalls, rapid against the ground — sprinting. As they approached, they suddenly halted a short distance behind. The reason for this would likely become exceedingly clear very shortly.

"Get away from them!"

With a battlecry, Vic leapt towards Sombron, holding his thermoknife in a reverse grip, and aiming to plant a flying knee directly into the base of the Fell Monarch's neck.

Frankly, he didn't expect this to work in the slightest — he just wanted to buy Alear some time.

Another figure approached — this one more slowly. Clad in a gold-hemmed black cloak, held closed by an shining, ornate brooch, they almost seemed like a ghost as they nearly floated through the battlefield.

In their hands, they carried a strange staff, which seemed to have some inscrutable mechanical functioning in addition to its more immediately obvious uses.

The figure tapped the bottom of the staff against the ground in a peculiar way, causing it to mechanically shift and transform. It took on a more... weaponized? appearance, a rather bizarre one. Whatever its specific nature, it would likely not be well revealed until utilized.

They took a moment to aim, holding the device underslung and bracing their legs, seemingly to absorb recoil. If Sombron decided to start monologuing, then he would swiftly find a reply — a heavy, booming blast of raw psionic force delivered straight to his chest, and carrying enough force to throw an ordinary man a good fifteen feet, or more, back.

UF!Frisk pulls a pan from their back and uses it to parry most of the attacks, dodging (and grazing) the others. They twirl their pan in their hand like they're getting ready for something...

(IF!Chara)

HP:15/15

+1 MP at the start of a turn. 4/4.

*Wait, we're fighting her, too? Hmm.

ACT>Chara>Flare Mode

-4 MP from Flare Mode. 0/4.

They float into the air, sending out a barrage of flame 'pellets' as an unfocused attack. The pellets fire in a straight line and don't home in, but there's a lot of them. They're also weak. Chara weaves through the hail of danmaku, occasionally steadying themselves to fire out a stronger 'burst' of flames- though they can't sustain that as long before they revert to their normal shot, regardless of if they're focusing or not. They also note their magic options have changed...

It folds out into a jetpack as well, and they take flight. Following Chara, they weave through most of the bullets- finally countering the last two.

+2 charge. 5/5. (3 normal, 2 Spark.)

As the Spell Card times out, IF!Frisk fires a beam- mostly looking like a normal 'monster magic' beam, though there's traces of rainbow coloring in it. Seems Spark does... well, what it sounds like.

Alear is not the only one who was woken up by the sound of battle. She's already cutting through the Corrupted she encounters on the second floor of the building with power and ferocity.

"Foul beings, you dare intrude on this safe haven for the innocent!?", Seiros yells with a glare as she quite literally carves her way through them to a mostly closed window, which blocks the way out but still allows her to hear what's being said down below. There she pauses, glancing outside for a moment and seeing what's going on.

As Sombron is getting attacked by Vic and the cloaked figure, Seiros jumps through the freaking window, a wrathful glare centered on Sombron as well.

"YOU WILL NOT HARM ANY OF THESE CHILDREN!", she declares as she tries to full-on stab into Sombron's head from above.

Regardless of success, she'll land next to him and follow up with a sweeping spin-slash, aiming to strike both Sombron and any Corrupted that may try to approach her.

Centralis park

"That sounds delightful! The park here has quite a lot to offer. Are you enjoying your date so far?" The robot displays a smiling eye on its face. "Any particular sights in Hub Centralis you're hoping to explore?"

Meanwhile, in a version of Centralis that's currently being wrecked...

Icarus is late to the party. Wayyyy too late. There may still be things left to salvage here, but how much, he himself is uncertain.

As he flies towards the Arena, sitting on a computer inside of one of a cargo fleet's many vessels, all he can do is watch. His satellite system gives him a pretty good overview of the city and the carnage that's happened here - mainly, the whole place needs cooling. Lots of cooling.

He's prepared several squads of vessels during his approach. None of them (besides the cargo fleet he's in) are currently active, but the plan is roughly as follows:

  • Douse the flames using ships that dispense lots of liquid helium.
  • Tightly following the ships, a swarm of garbage collector drones that remove any and all rubble.
  • Once the rubble is clear, either mark any civvie still out for Croque to pick up, or pick them up myself using explorer drones and/or shuttles; where to bring them I'll have to coordinate with RI.

Finally, the fleet is close enough, and positions itself in geostationary orbit roughly above Hub Centralis. The second fleet of dispenser vessels is already on its way down to the city, and as it descends into the atmosphere, Icarus boards an Explorer himself and follows it, eventually landing on the Paradiso for a better view. Ironically, his satellites still give him a better view than the Explorer's built-in cameras.

He sends a short radio message to Croque and the Paradiso's command center. Icarus reporting for duty, will cool with helium and clear rubble. What's status?

If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.

Rumia hummed happily as she flew through the air. She was gonna visit Refia and show her some new things she learned and was excited.

Then as she go closer she saw things were not going well. She frowns and envelops herself in her darkness ball. She flies down and crashes like a black comet ontop of the nearest Corrupted or Risen to Refia. She manifests her scythe and instantly goes to work on slicing the nearest foes, starting with the one she tried to land on if they're alive.

Lourent

Marisa is dodging around the projectiles but has the good sense to widen her eyes a little as Asriel closes in. She sidesteps (flies?) a few jabs but one gets her in the gut, making her cough out some air as she flies back and raises her sword to block.

"Ngh... good thing Konpaku isn't here or she'd lecture me for getting hit like that."    Marisa huffs. Astra scowls and while Asriel is close, the black dragon breathes in and spits out a burst of flame breath.

"Anyway, a Spell Card is just a term for named, timed attack patterns we use in our fights back home. Though it's been a while since I used them just for fun."    Marisa explains to Chara. At Frisk's Spark, she simply smirks and deflects it with a slash of her hakkero sword.

"Heh, not much of a spark if you ask me. Let me show you a better one."    she says, smirking again.

   Love Sign "Spark Slash"

Marisa raises her sword up in a politely telegraphed manner and magic energy envelops the blade. She grins and then brings it down in a slash aimed at Asriel and a full on Master Spark level beam shoots out like a huge blade, aiming to smash into him from above. She swings at him once more with a horizontal angle before then swinging it in a wide sweep to try and hit the others in one attack.

After that the beam fades out and the hakkero sword returns to normal.

"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."

"Stopping villains together? Sounds like quite the adventure you two have had! I'm glad to hear you've found each other through such daring escapades." The robot nods. "If you're looking for restaurant recommendations, I might be able to assist! What kind of cuisine are you in the mood for?"

The second voice interrupts, again. "Just as a warning, I have not given ChatGPT any maps of Centralis, so... beware, the AI may just make up locations. And double check if they exist, if you have phones or such."

... Polnareff doesn't try to ask Jenner Rick for his phone back, instead blinking at him in a way that could be interpreted as "demanding" him to do so. He's then set upon by Wriggle and greatly shocked: before he can try to answer, he's then punched... into the wall by Subaru. While he slams into it with great force, enough to shake the house, the paint hold firm anyway, let alone the actual wall.

I... I can't believe it. They took my phone and said I smelled of cheese! Oh, this is so horrible! Polnareff says as he pick up pieces of his broken ass and shove it back in there. Erm... excuse me, but where is the basement? His mind is made up. His focus sharp. It's his blade now. And with it, he'll cut through the yoke of adversity.

And get his phone back, of course.

Awww, why'd you want to go the basement? You've just been called out as smelling like cheese! It must be all that camembert-flavored cheetos. Come on, Polnareff. Don't worry. You can recover. Do you like games? I can lend you my phone with many games on it.

As Megumi walks over to give Polnareff a massage, with Beruka likewise cleaning up his throne and placing Polnareff's favorite wine and cheese on a plate, Corrin very gently lays Polnareff on said throne and bow down to him. Grrr... I'm getting bullied tonight! This cannot stand! Everyone in this room is my sworn enemy henceforth! Hey, thanks! But I think my skeleton is very broken in some places. Could I come over to the basement and pick up spare parts from all the corpses down there?

Sure, of course Polnareff! Only you could pull off an amazing operation like this!

Yes thank you! Oh, you black-hearted hooligan... Polnareff eats his wine and cheese first and then begin departing. Luckily for him, the video still playing and comedic timing means that no one follows him as he walks down the entrance to a little door on the right, leading to a set of stairs cloaked in thick darkness.

Closing the door behind him, Polnareff walks down the stairs and open the door leading to the basement. He's immediately greeted with a flash of eldritch green light as a sprawling portal appears before him. Invisible and impossible colors dance across an edlritch sky as new forms come undone and done before his shrieking human mind, secrets eons old forever undiscovered burning themselves deep into every molecule in Polnareff's body.

He knows that his journey is one no wise man would undertake. But to avenge his lost honor, and retrieve his phone, Polnareff would need to go to length a wise man would never consider...

GYYYYYYARBIURGGGAAAGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Polnareff is violently ripped from the stairs and goes screaming into the abyss of madness!

...

Meanwhile, Yuji makes his way back home. On the way, he meets none other than the famous Gojo Satoru, who was just standing there waiting for his cue.

Oh hey, sensei! Wanna play THE HAMMER with us?

Gojo smiles a defiant smirk. Nah, I'd lose. He runs away and Yuji continues on his way to the house. There, he decides to violently kick the door open as an entrance.

YOOOO! I've gotten The Hammer! Yuji throws the console and TV right where the old ones were and they pretty much just happen to coincidentally land right on top of one another, plugging themselves into the outlet and all. Yuji himself does a somersault into the main couch, casually handing the remote over to an horrified Megumi.

He feebly try to pass it along to someone else but it's like having the remote is a curse. Even if other parties are interested in getting the remote out of him, they'll be physically repelled. Soon understanding his folly, Megumi simply stares at the TV in awed terror, watching as it boots up to the intro menu.

The game begins with a short cutscene of the Oval Office, with the President of the United States sitting at his desk. He looks like a curious, if disagreeable, mixture between Presidents past, present (at the times) and future. All of them. At once. Resulting in a extremely-bizarre looking pixel.

Before soon, the President is kidnapped by ninjas, who appears out of nowhere and drag him off-screen. A large helicopter, that had somehow landed on top of the White House, then take off into the air.

The next screen features a very detailed close-up of a muscular blond guy with sunglasses and red sleeveless shirt. His manly scowl is eternal through his speech.

HEY YOU!

EVIL NINJAS HAVE KIDNAPPED THE PRESIDENT

Why would they do this... ponders Yuji, with a tinge of forlorn sadness in his voice.

THE CRIMINAL BOSS THE HAMMER GAVE THEM THE ORDERS

YOU GOTTA NAIL HIM!

There's no intro menu. It just skips to four characters portraits floating along in a black void.

So. I heard there were translation issues somewhere. Don't be surprised if there's some oddities here and there.

First guy is a tall blond guy in a white shirt, red vest, with a red cape and long blond hair tied into a ponytail.

TERRY

SIZE: 6,7FT

HEIGHT: 4 TONS

A PUNK WHO LOVES HITTING WOMEN. TERRY NEVER BRING FLEAS TO A FIGHT. HE FIGHT ALWAYS FIGHT THE GOOD BATTLE

The second guy is a regular-looking guy with blond hair, a blue jacket and a slightly more emo look to him, even if he's still a beefcake.

'CODY

SIZE: 7FEET

HEIGHT: 4kg

WHEN THE HAMMER DESTROYED HIS PARENTS, CODY BECAME THE JAR OF VENGEANCE. HE EATS EVIL AND HATE HAMBURGERS! HIS FRIENDS ARE HIS GOLD COINS

A muscular shirtless older guy, with a huge mustache and a stern look on his face.

MAYOR HAZARD

SIZE: 19SHOES

HEIGHT: 4000 TONS

A COURAGEOUS POLITICIAN WHO REFUSES TO SHIT BY AGAINST EVIL. HE IS VERY PROTECTIVE OF HIS KILL SINCE HIS WIFE DAUGHTER HIS BECAME. HE SPIN TO WIN AGZINST THE HAMMER

GUY

SIZE: IRRELEVANT

HEIGHT: SMALL ENOUGH TO BE IN YOUR SHADOW AT ALL TIME

GUY IS THE FIGURE AT THE EDGE OF YOUR VISION. THE WOOD CREAKING LATE AT NIGHT. THE RUFFLING OF CLOTHES. THE RED EYE PEERING FROM THE CLOSET. HE FIGHTS STRONGLY AGAINST EVIL

Woops! I gotta pee! Yuji lowers his remote and reverses time for himself, jumping off the couch by doing that and returning outside. As soon as his remote goes slack, Megumi immediately thrust it into the hands of the nearest person and run into a corner for his life.

As he does that, reality becomes fickle around another corner. Out of nowhere, with no warning, suddenly, with little foreshadowing, a tall muscular shirtless guy with long pink hair appears at his spot, with the remote resting on his lap. His horrible purple pants and make-up make him look like a disheveled fashion victim. A literal one.

N-no! What's it going to be this time?! He glances at the TV and whines, upon seeing the character select. The Hammer! No! Not again! I must flee!

You'd want to run without tasting our delicious snacks first? Asks Corrin, lending Diavolo a bag of chips. The Don stares confusedly at Corrin and the chip, mouth agape.

What are you... I... I've teleported into your house! I... you... He sighs and grabs the bag, meekly going to a corner to eat.

The lone remote on the couch, with Yuji still gone, teleport into the hands of a random character in the meantime. It want to be played.

Unfortunately for Polnareff, Jenner Rick is still a trained soldier, and a simple blink from a random guy doesn't intimidate him. He doesn't even really take notice him at all until he gets shoved into the wall.

His attention is quickly on Yuji, the certified door murderer himself.

He doesn't understand what a remote is and thus does not attempt to take it. Instead he just turns to the TV as the intro begins.

"Why was that man kidnapped by Hoshidan ninjas?"

Oh, the Hammer is the name of the villain? Not an actual hammer? This is true sadness.

Regardless, he looks the characters over as he gets a controller pushed into his hands. He ends up choosing Mayor Hazard, because the thought of what he can only assume is a futuristic councilman actually getting off their ass to fight for themselves is funny to him.

...

What smells like Cold?

The uh. The Hollow Knight appears. Standing up straight, their height is enough to tower over any human.

...I lost the source of this image :(

Anyways, The Hollow Knight isn't the only person who Appears, as they are accompanied by one other. "Sad" Pyra, or just "Pyra", if you will, is by their side.

And from the looks of things, these two have been through... a lot, since we've last seen them. What with the X-shaped core crystal on The Hollow Knight's chest, and the equal-sized piece missing from Pyra's own.

Giving no mention to The Hollow Knights undamaged shell. The arm was never coming back, but that split in their mask should have been irreparable.

...Unless it was remade from scratch.

Pyra wielding her own Aegis sword, and the Hollow Knight wielding its own (heavily weathered but recently sharpened) Pure Nail. In sync, The Hollow Knight understands Pyra's intentions without need to speak, not that they could ever speak to her if it wished- and they do not wish such a thing.

Theirs is a powerful connection, born of necessity and developed out of convenience. The Hollow Knight cannot talk, and is hardly able to write. This way, understanding is made without need for words. A connection The Hollow Knight shared only with their siblings, and in this arena, there were none of such a kind.

No comforting darkness. Just themselves, all alone.

Pyra flings sparks of flame towards the Corrupted Berserkers, testing their defenses with a peppering of inferno, not so weak as to be harmless but not strong enough to be deadly in their own right, lest one willingly succumb to them.

The Hollow Knight, meanwhile, takes a more tactical approach without even conceptualizing it. These are tactics picked up from years under the tutorship of Hallownest's best warriors in addition to their father, things they had come to understand as muscle memory given to a body without the capacity for thought. Without thinking. Without thinking. As best as was possible for a living thing.

That had been...

Actually, The Hollow Knight would rather not think about that, for reasons mostly unrelated to the rejection of their selfhood.

But yes, The Hollow Knight shade-warps right above the Risen Clerics, and slams its Pure Nail down towards (and hopefully through) one of them. The unnaturally-sharp edge should either-way dig deep into the ground, summoning pure-white fields of pale soul energy beneath each Cleric's feet that, moments later, erupt into supersized spikes. Themselves reminiscent of the Knight's Pure Nail, these "soul pillars" are fast and deadly but obtusely regular to the point of inefficiency. They are well-telegraphed and go straight up.

Any living Clerics near the Hollow Knight when this attack finishes, then, are in for a surprise, when The Hollow Knight leaves its nail in the ground, and flings out an array of relatively small "soul daggers", twirling once all the way around to cover every direction. Unfortunately for these Clerics, a "dagger" to someone the size of The Hollow Knight is really more like a shortsword, and their ridiculous razor edge just makes matters worse.

Poachers

Wulfruc's Wall

Marth grunts as the arrows fly down, one sticking into his sword arm's shoulder and another narrowly whizzing past his neck.

"You and your sister chose this war," he says, "But we will be the ones to end it! Believe in me!"

A godly divine glow surrounds Marth before he hurtles at the poacher with frightening speed, to deliver a single slash so powerful it makes a concussive shockwave!

Fatal Fields

Wyvern Esper gets tossed away from Baltaos by the brutal swing, transforming mid-tumble back to humanoid mode so it can drag itself to a stop with its hand and fend off the flames with twin jets of Dragon energy from the Valstrax Core Lander's wings. Still, the Gundam backs away from the clashing elements while it can.

The Cauldron

Seliph lets out a sigh of relief and exhaustion. "He fought well."

"I was just gettin' started," Joe grumbles, lowering his shotgun.

"The rest of us were not. Now what?"

Game Time Started

    Charlie (Puppeteer)
  • Ghost Fist: A punch delivered with the strength of the soul. Deals medium Martial damage.
  • Jumpscare [Counter]: Lunge at an enemy with startling speed. Deals low Projectile damage. Can moderately reduce enemy evasion and speed, or inflict Intoxication or Snare.
  • Dark Bolt: Hurl a shot of Dark Remnant at a distant enemy. Deals medium Demonic damage.
  • Stormy Night: Conjure a storm that makes animatronics malfunction. Deals low Water damage. Attacked areas become Electric tiles.
  • Puppet String: Lash an area in front of you with a string. Deals low Spirit damage. Can inflict sleep, stun, or paralysis.
  • Music Box (Spirit) [Counter]: A familiar tune that soothes restless souls. Heals self and nearby allies a small amount. Cures sleep, stun, paralysis, intoxication, and petrification.
  • Buried Secrets: Conjures memories that one would be best off forgetting. Deals medium Earth damage. Can severely reduce enemy physical defense and special defense.
  • Infernal Revenge: Flames of retribution and justice blaze to life and attack an area. Deals high Fire damage. Charge Time: Fast (1 round).
  • Lefty: A container meant to trap can also be used to shield. Greatly raises a random selection of user's physical attack, physical defense, and special defense, but lowers evasion.
  • Righteous Wrath: Years of pent-up emotion bubble to the surface and erupt. Deals massive Divine damage to a single target and heals user. Charge Time: Medium (2 rounds).
  • Resurrection: Grant a second chance to a soul that won't quit. Revives a fallen party member. Charge Time: Slow (3 rounds).
  • Nightmarionne [Counter ONLY]: A threat to the life reveals a threat to all. Deals massive Demonic damage to the attacker. Can inflict Restrain, Poison, or Petrification.

    Emma/Victoria (Biomancer)
  • Basic Attack: Emma throws a weak strike at the foe. | Victoria morphs a limb into a slashing weapon and swings at the foe. Both regain a little Biomass on hit. Victoria's attack is stronger.
  • Regeneration/Debilitation: Emma spreads the U-Virus to her allies so that it can heal their wounds bit-by-bit over multiple turns. | Victoria sends the U-Virus at her enemies to inflict them with damage over time. Does not cost Biomass.
  • Quick Heal/Hammer Swing: Emma instructs the U-Virus to concentrate on an allied target, rapidly healing them. | Victoria morphs her arm into a giant tendril with a bulbous fist and slams it down on a targeted enemy. Costs a little Biomass.
  • Shield Wall/Drill Rush: Emma raises a dense barrier made of bone and keratin. | Victoria surrounds a hand in bone and keratin and stabs forward to deliver a multi-hit attack. Costs a lot of Biomass. Drill Rush regains a lot of Biomass on hit.
  • Form Change: The character switches between Emma and Victoria.

    Jax (Grandmaster)
  • Basic Attack: Jax swings his lantern staff. Restores 50 Mana on hit.
  • Leap Strike: Jax leaps into the air and swings his lantern down on the foe. A powerful physical attack. Costs 65 Mana.
  • Empower: Jax adds a substantial amount of non-elemental magic damage (AKA Spirit damage) to his next physical attack. If the attack is his Basic Attack, it is guaranteed to hit. Costs 30 Mana.
  • Counter Strike: Jax takes a defensive stance for the turn, absorbing attacks without taking damage. At the end of the turn, he unleashes a magic attack of his own, powered up based on the number of attacks absorbed, capping at a x2 multiplier. Costs 90 Mana.
  • Grandmaster-At-Arms: Jax swings his lantern, dealing heavy magic damage to multiple enemies. If this hits a boss, his physical and special defense stats increase. Costs 100 Mana, and also, Jax must land at least two Basic Attacks in a fight before he can use it.

Charlie shrugs, then suddenly the sound rings out. It is accompanied by a sudden shift as a pair of floating party hats just appear out of thin air.

"Looks like our first random encounter. That means it's our first serious fight!" Cassie has Evan use March.

Delilah has Emma use Regeneration on the party. Emma takes a deep breath and lets it out. The air feels a little thicker for a moment, then clears out, as their wounds heal a little.

Biomass: 60/100

Azzy Wazzy

SPO!Asriel raises his spear defensively and is unprepared for the Master Spark beam, both hits driving him back before he can recover from the surprise of the first. "In that case..."

Hold-Still Barrage 「Storm of Blue」

Aping Marisa's spell card names for fun, he flies into the air and unleashes a spiraling barrage of magic bolts on all his foes. One point in the middle of the onslaught is made of blue-colored bolts, which, judging by the name of the attack and the fact that the color is the opposite of his previous specially-colored attack, might indicate to Marisa that they can't hit you if you hold still. Of course, if she and the UT characters both opt to dodge it this way, they'll be pressed rather close to each other.

  • Pyra is fighting Corrupted Berserkers A and B
  • No one is fighting Corrupted Berserker C, Corrupted General B, Corrupted Warriors C and D, Risen Pegasus Knights B, C, and D, or Risen Swordmasters

Sombron casually sidesteps Vic's lunging knee strike as he continues to approach Alear. He looks up in time to see the falling Seiros and conjures a barrier above his head, blocking her stab. His eyes widen, and he blocks her slash with his bare arms next.    "You... You are a dragon. Could you be the one keeping cust-"

BLAMMO. The psionic blast sends him skidding back, hunkered down. He rises up and glares at the shooter.    "Or is it... you?"    He casts Obscurité, surrounding his attacker in darkness that explodes around them after a moment, giving very little time to dodge. He blasts Seiros next.

Alear can barely breathe. She thought it was over, yet the one who took her in, an acquaintance she's barely interacted with, and a complete stranger, all are fighting for her sake, risking their lives to protect hers. She owes it to them to at least not sit there and wait for things to happen around her. She shakily tries to rise, and feels a metal hand helping her up before N flies off to another part in the battle.

Ika's tendrils wrap around Sombron's wrists and ankles. Alear invokes Emblem Marth and lunges at him, aiming to skewer her father with Falchion and end this now, but he invokes Emblem Byleth and summons the Sword of the Creator to his hand, lashing it around Alear's neck and tossing her away. He attempts to hack off Ika's tendrils next to free himself. Whether or not he succeeds, Alear gets up and rushes him with bestial fury, getting into a Blade Lock with him.

If Seiros doesn't immediately fly into a blind rage at the sight of that sword, she may remember Alear explaining to her what Emblems are, and notice that Sombron's fingers are absolutely decked out in rings. No doubt the one shining red is Byleth's.

"Suddenly, you show far more spirit than ever before,"    Sombron cackles.    "If you had demonstrated this energy on your mission, perhaps you wouldn't have failed me."

"To show emotion is death. To hide it is weakness and warrants death. Well, WHICH IS IT!?" Alear snaps, raising her voice for the first time in her life.

Refia is in the middle of beating the shit out of a Corrupted General when Rumia crashes in on top of it. Its substantially thick armor protects it from being killed instantly, but Refia wastes no time in continuing to pummel it until it dies. The undead monster instantly goes stiff, drops its spear and shield, and falls backwards, bursting into magical sparks on impact with the ground. Only then does Refia give Rumia an appreciative nod.

"They're after Alear, protect her!"

If Rumia looks, a Corrupted Berserker, another Corrupted General, and a duo of Risen Swordmasters are all closing in on Alear and Sombron's clash. N has seemingly already noticed them, as he morphs a hand into a gun and fires a powerful energy blast that blows a hole through the Corrupted Berserker. Disturbingly, it keeps going, ignoring him. A Risen Cleric heals it with Physic, while another prepares to cast Freeze in order to immobilize Alear.

The Corrupted Wolf Knights all dance in circles around the Iron Maiden. They can't hurt her, but she can't catch them as their wolves dart in and out, letting them annoy her with throwing daggers. Fortunately, the undead are too stupid to realize she's literally invincible, so she's keeping them occupied even if she can't reach them.

Paintra conjures up a miniature Kracko, which blasts two pairs of Corrupted enemies with lightning. A Corrupted Sage shoots Elthunder back at the Kracko, destroying it, and the other one blasts Paintra herself. She ducks into a painting portal to dodge the second Elthunder, only to emerge just in time to see twin arrows flying down at her, shots fired by the twin Corrupted Warriors. She yelps as they stick into her shoulders and quickly paints up a Pep Brew to heal herself with, before painting a series of sawblades and sending them at the Corrupted soldiers.

The other two Corrupted Sages are both peppered by arrows. They retaliate with Elthunder blasts, sending projectile bolts of lightning at Ami. A Risen Pegasus Knight is also hit by the arrows, but since bows beat flying units, this kills it immediately. Two of the Risen Clerics use Physic to heal the Corrupted Sages.

With the exception of the Wolf Knight, enemies of the same type aren't all grouped up. Thus, Sad Pyra and the Hollow Knight only get two Berserkers and Clerics each. This does thankfully stop the Corrupted Berserkers from joining the other one in attacking Alear.

The Corrupted Berserkers rush through the flames to try and strike Sad Pyra with mighty axe swings.

One of the Risen Clerics uses a Warp staff to get the other out of the Hollow Knight's reach, and said other uses a Freeze staff on the Hollow Knight to try and immobilize it, while the Warp-user dies.

RUMIA IS GOING TO ATTACK THE FREEZE CLERIC TARGETING ALEAR SO PLAYERS OTHER THAN SHROOB DON'T BOTHER WITH IT

OmegaShadowcry

The attacker with the strange device, having no time for such things, opted instead to guard against Obscurité, slamming the device back into a staff and planting it in the ground as she channeled a psionic barricade in the area around herself. The entire time, her eyes did not look away from Sombron.

Her eyes glowed beneath her hooded cloak, and, as a lucky wind pulled back the concealing hood, a third light joined the other two. The red hair, the cloak...

Though she may have held a different bearing than when last she had been seen, this was, without a doubt, Zophiel.

"You have an unpleasant air to you. Familiar. ... Putrid."

A flash of scintillating light linked her mind to the others — telepathic communication.

<Sorry to intrude, but I think I'm missing information, could someone fill me in?>

Vic took a good look at the situation. Sombron outmatched him in more ways than his limited range of knowledge could even really process... but there were others here still. The wolf knights caught his eye, whirling around Iron Maiden like a storm wall.

He might not be able to take down Sombron... but he could sure as hell get rid of some mounted knights.

...

Magnus might not be too happy with his use of the ol' .45 ACP though.

With a practiced motion, Vic produced a... fairly standard looking M1911, took quick aim, and fired off a few rounds.

... Huh, where had he been keeping that?

Seiros actually pauses for a moment when she realizes Sombron is likely a dragon as well. At no point in her life did she ever expect she'd have to fight one of her own, especially not after everything that's happened not so long ago for her.

Yes, for just a moment, this inner conflict makes her falter. Can she really go up against a fellow dragon?

This hesitation ensures that Sombron's attack hits her, forcing her to back off and snap back to it.

"You... what possible justification could you have to hurt children? Those who I assume would be your own!? No self-respecting dragon would do such a thing!"

But, oh...

Summoning Emblem Byleth may be the final nail in the coffin Seiros needed to make up her mind.

She doesn't know who this Byleth is. But she knows damn well what that sword is. Emblem or not, the thought of anyone wielding that sword, especially for a purpose such as this one, is unforgivable!

Seiros suddenly charges forward, aiming to strike her blade straight through Sombron's heart. Or Byleth's, if he chooses to intercept.

"You vile, wretched creature! I will cast judgement upon you for defiling Sothis' name for the sake of harming the innocent!"

Regardless of success, she'll then attempt to go into a speedy and vicious sword flurry attack.

"You shall burn in Hell for the rest of eternity, with no peace or pause of torment! The flames will feast on your tainted soul, inflicting pain more severe for each innocent life you've taken!"

... holy shit she's pissed as fuck.

In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.

Sarah's eyes go white as she gets punched with so much force as to utterly rock her. Sahdri's fists would already hurt at her prime condition, let alone now, and for a few terrifying seconds, she has to fight to keep her consciousness. And that's from an human point of view: with the sheer speed that Sarah can operate at, each of these seconds might as well be eternity of feeling her body go completely limp, helpless and unable to defend herself against her enemy.

But in the end, her willpower prevails over her exhaustion once again and she flips in mid-air, blood trailing off her mouth before she wipes it. She also has a huge bruise on her stomach, with the mark of Sahdri's fist visibly inscribed upon her flesh after punching a big hole through her reinforced clothing. She even briefly move to clutch it, grimacing in pain despite enduring attack after attack until now.

Despite this, Sarah smirks, pleased at being that badly pushed. But she must not let the thought of defeat in mind! She has to push that off and persevere. She was already in a catastrophic situation with one enemy Sister alone. Two on top of that? If she faltered once against these odds, she'd lose.

And thinking of defeat would be faltering, right?

As Sahdri prepares her attack, Sarah ponders, finding herself distracted at what seems to be the worst possible moment.

Nah. I gotta keep defeat in mind.

Sarah floats over the battlefield, seeing how badly scarred and burnt it is. She stops to contemplate her battered hands right as Sahdri fire off her black lightning attack, apparently more concerned with her blackened palms than the move that's about to make her look much worse off.

I'm at the edge of losing. All alone against bad guys. Denying it would be the dumbest fucking thing.

I gotta accept it. I'm very close to losing. No denying it. My body's aching all over.

But... then that just means I've got to be careful. Close or not, I can still fight.

And so long as I can fight...

I can WIN Sarah swipes right at Sahdri's attack, cloaking her hand in the necrosword, apparently to give it a bit of a structural boost; It's barely what she needs to be able to deflect the bolt into a bunch of clouds, although her hand is left smoking, with the necrosword on it apparently fully gone. Despite barely deflecting such a powerful move, Sarah laughs as she flips into the air, arms spread wide.

Hahahahaha! I gotta admit, being in love with your own strength is kind of intoxicating! She yell to the other two, in a manner that seems oddly casual, before she promptly fly straight at Sahdri. Her senses are kind of shitty but her strength is monstrous. They both realized this. But Sarah still throws her right arm back in anticipation of a huge punch.

She doesn't use her left one: the skin on it has burnt off, revealing some... alien ''stuff' beneath that appears to be regenerating itself. It'd be risky to interrupt the processus, so, predictably, Sarah use her other arm. But she knows it could end up broken if she foolishly test set her strength against Sahdri's again. So she use a mere trick of light again. But only at the very last moment, right before the impact.

Dulled or not, Sahdri's senses could still pick up on minute details. She has to make her believe she's coming in for a clash or else she'll be careful.

About two seconds before impact, Sarah leave out a clone of herself still in mid-swing and fly alongside it at the last moment, trying to see how Sahdri will respond. If she doesn't punch at the clone, then Sarah rear her wounded arm back for a punch as she approach Sahdri before trying to hit her in the face with her elbow, impacting her without too much damage to her wounded arm.

If she did throw her arm, Sarah attempts to wrap her right arm around Sahdri's own arm and try to mess with her bio-electricity to stun her, even for just a second. If she succeed, then Sarah attempts to repeatedly impact her left side with a series of elbow blows, capping off with one last, very strong impact meant to send her flying.

Should either happen, Sarah swing her arm and hurl a black lightning bolt at Sahdri, the attack carving a wide burning swath into the ground as it moves about erratically before trying to impact the evil Sister.

He succeeds, slashing through Ika's mctentacles like a hot knife through buttery garlic seasoned calamari cooked so fine that it's not actually tough and rubbery anymore.

"GAH!" she recoils, yanking her cut tentacles back to her.

The lightning strikes Ami dead-on, but due to being a semi-comical character and this still being near the start of the fight, any potential gruesome effects are avoided. She is simply shocked and stunned for a moment, before blinking owlishly through an thick Ash Face.

Ika then just lashes out with her tentacles, aiming to simply plow them through her targets with the force of a this thing - even with the ends cut off, that doesn't mitigate the force of one of these pillars of muscle punching into you.

Targeting:
2 tentacles target Corrupted Sage C
2 tentacles target Corrupted Sage D
4 tentacles target the Corrupted Wolf Knights
the last 2 tentacles target Sombron
