Hub Centralis, Random Pizza restraunt (SOLOPOST/SHITPOST)

In a pizza restraunt, everyone is calm, having their pizzas in peace, eating the hot italian food contently.

Suddenly, A boot flies through the front doors. And not as in, opening the doors, As in it makes a hole in the door.

The boot suddenly speaks. "I AM AMERICAN BOOT" before turning into the soldier from team fortress 2, without a helmet. This is. American Boot.

"I WOULD LIKE AMERICAN CANADIAN SCOTTISH TEA PARTY RUSSIAN FRENCH SPELLCASTING PANIS PIZZA"

He constantly shifts between poses without moving properly, holding and wearing various objects and outfits related to what he says, including a rather phalic rocket once he says "PANIS"

The person at the order counter blinks rapidly, before saying "What the fuck did you just... What? We don't have that here, No, Get out, right now."

"Come on you Hippie Hair cut Scottish Canadian Wizard , I need my Pizza"

The man at the desk is even more confused, saying "Please.... I dont even know what you just said"

The soldier keeps going on, driving the person at the counter to madness.

Chaos

Other!Edelgard's aura blasts away the dangerous goop that leaks from Nightbringer's body upon the collision of her first strike. Her very presence seems to shake the earth, beating back Nightbringer's own oppressive presence!

Her fist trembles after the impact, and she recovers with a breath, just in time for Nightbringer's next attack!

She weaves through the darkness of Nightbringer's extended darkness, but when she tries to break through, she gets stuck and slammed into the ground with suitable force, tumbling deep below. The frigid sensation the darkness brings her is deeply discomforting, but her power stops it from seeping any deeper. The fire inside of her just burns too hot!

Now that she's underground again, Other!Edelgard wagers that she could attempt a repeat of her previous gambit, but, with her foe stronger than before and knowledgeable of her tactics, she decides on an alternative approach.

And she puts her hands flat together in front of her, charging some sort of attack...

Sensing Nightbringer's energy from deep below, she waits for a moment that her allies are backed up far enough, and then...

Other!Edelgard parts her hands, trembling with the ki energy now collected between them as she puts her fingers together in a triangle, breathing deeply as she focuses. She powers down the Kaioken to x4, unable to support it at her current level.

There is a flash of light, a distorted Emblem wreathed in Fire manifesting behind her, beyond her own knowledge, as the world around them all is cast in a frightening saturated red.

"You won't be getting away. No mercy!"

Other!Edelgard's eyes open wide as she tilts herself towards the surface.

"KIKOHO!"

An enormous column of ki energy rises up from beneath Nightbringer, briefly shaking the ground beneath his feet before suddenly striking with absurdly disproportionate force. This perfectly square tunnel of annihilation is as wide as a tournament arena and unashamedly incredibly dangerous, packing a punch that no attack of its cost should have the god-damned right to have!

Even against a foe of Other!Edelgard's power, a direct hit would leave behind less than what it didn't!

There is a trade, however, and a nasty one at that. This attack eats life-force in addition to energy. And Other!Edelgard is by no means using it efficiently, having only learned it relatively recently!

As such, she is out of it. Next turn, she won't be able to attack at all!

And what's worse, she's just opened up a square tunnel leading directly to her!

''Angstrom, Filia, Rats, Dragons,

Lonther

Angstrom’s eyes flicked to his side, at where a new and prominent voice arose over the crowd as Artemis gave away her location and intentions. In a mere moment her kick had been delivered, but rather than make contact with the man…simply passed through empty space. He had disappointed from view, but not from the scene—for right after, his hand reached to grab Artemis’ arm from behind and throw her into the ground. Immediately following this, a chain sunk deep into the fleshier of his two shoulders, eliciting a pained hiss as he was promptly wrenched towards the source of the attack.

His eyes fell upon Ikaros. Just before her clothesline could connect, Angstrom disappeared once more and the chain was left only with bloodstains on its end. Rather than attempt a melee against her like he had Artemis, though, Levy kept his distance between he and the woman. Instead, his counter attack took the form of an entire wagon that had appeared above the woman, falling fast.

Angstrom himself was a good twenty feet away, grunting as he lifted his robotic arm to his wounded shoulder and felt the blood leaking from it. A sudden whooshing arose and the man’s eyes grew wide, before he turned on his heels and threw a punch at the incoming fireball, which caught him off guard, in a bid to destroy it before it could reach him in full. A great cloud of smoke with flame at its core exploded across the street, but Angstrom Levy was not inside of it. Rather, he had next teleported directly in front of Yuki, steel fist speeding towards her jaw.

Onyxis

Kain’s pace slowed. It crawled to a stop as he shifted his gaze to the great heavens above and tilted his head, watching the flashing storm clouds as their show of light illuminated his own wretched face and all the frozen lands below. He had been struck by lightning thus far enough times during this battle by Filia to be caught offguard by it once more, which made it all the more curious when he stood entirely still and allowed himself to be caught in the great clashing of energy above which resulted in the wrath of the sky smiting the sinner. A horrible roar erupted from his mouth as he keeled over, the bolts of electricity engulfing his mortal form.

"Oh! Ow! Ooh, that hurts!"    He began yelling aloud amidst the screaming, lifting his head just enough to lock eyes with Filia.    "Oh, when will I learn?"    He voiced his deeply sarcastic woe. After another moment, when it seemed he had either bored of the lightning or simply knew he couldn’t afford to stand there for much longer, took action: his corporeal form melted apart, his physical shell replaced with blood that promptly splashed onto the ground as a puddle.

If the lightning was to continue striking even after that, so too would it have emerged from another puddle of the blood, though one that had appeared above Filia. Wreathed in the lightning was Kain, the fingers on his right hand formed into a chop as he brought it down onto the Lucifer’s shoulder with shocking force.

If it had ever been thought that his face could not ever grow uglier, such thoughts would’ve been quickly dispelled upon seeing the lightning’s results on him. His skin blistered, purple bubbles filled with pus and blood grew and popped in the span of a few moments. Some parts had been charred a crispy black, crimson seeping out from between.

Hyrule

Tunnels

The Seers observed as the bubbles of air whipped and drew near, descending upon them. They counteracted with their own spells, introducing wild and violent winds of plague to spin against Azura’s and neutralize the power of the air by a fair margin, though still not enough to prevent a good few of their casters from getting their heads a sploded.

They didn’t yet give up, however, and the relentless Skaven casters continued with their assault against Azura, waves of Warp-lightning surging from their staffs and towards her. These emerald bolts threatened not only her body but her mind, prodding her towards insanity more and more with each strike to hit.

The Warlock Engineers at least had the good sense to know what Raex’s ethereal flame meant, dropping their weapons as it sprouted from him. Those who didn’t have secondary blades to resort to instead focused on ranged fire, aiming to damage him from behind as he cut through the horde. Once Raex grew near enough to the bell that the Skaven seemed to catch onto his intents, however, their focus on him waned. The reason why was left uncertain; perhaps they had decided to focus on Azura because she presented a more attentive threat? Or was it instead because they trusted that, despite Raex’s efforts and shown feats, there was some unknown factor that would simply prevent him from being able to destroy the bell?

The latter option seemed to prove most likely when the honorable warrior’s fireball was slapped midair by yet another Rat Ogre, though this one considerably more hulking than the rest at a whopping twenty feet tall. Additionally worrying was the fact that the golden flame didn’t seem to have nearly the same effect on him as it did the other Skaven. He had hung from the similarly massive bell, though dropped to the ground after his rejection of the fireball. Beneath him the very earth shook, and he spread both arms wide and unleashed a terrible roar that happened to sync with the very next tolling of the bell.

In the very skin of his chest was carved, in blood, the word KHALICH.

Chamber

The disc-rat reached for his projectile, preparing to safely intercept its path, yet the sudden acceleration of the object seemed enough to catch him off his guard, and it sliced clean through his torso. Murasa’s strike, meanwhile, came down upon the Sn S Skave, who blocked the initial anchor attack with said S, but the ensuing shockwave of magic send him tumbling backwards, though not yet dead. The one wielding twin swords thrusted one forwards, at the side of her back.

Zhal, meanwhile, places his mechanical claw between Melia and he, using it to eat the brunt of her blow so that the Ether doesn’t tear his flesh apart. While it doesn’t exactly break the titanium prosthetic, it does damage the plating a decent amount. Her next few hammer strikes draw dangerously near to a solid hit against Zhal’s ribs, and as a result, he decides to but himself some time to restore his form. From his claw, originating from a barrel somewhere below the wrist, explodes a spray of green flame almost akin to Melia’s own attack; a Warpfire flamethrower.

——

A Dance With Dragons

Annihilation Nergigante found his enemy’s resistance against flame to be interesting—the Xeno’Jiiva he had slain with ease back in the New World would’ve gone down almost instantly to that. In spite of this, as always, Annihilation Nergigante simply refused to let up, or even allow the Soulstealer Xeno’Jiiva a single moment of respite. Even as the beast flew away he was right on his tail, doing his best work to keep the distance between the two at absolute minimum. The force of the explosion accompanying the bionergy thrown and the Elder’s face proved sufficient to not only crack but break off just under half of one of his horns, and yet he only pushed through the damage and continued on his warpath against the monster. This time he tried something else, smashing his paws downwards at the Soulstealer’s head as they crackled with the electric energies of a Kirin.

With great power…you know the rest.

Rats

Melia does not have the sort of appropriately resilient prosthetic piece that could afford her a shield in this case, although she might need one in a moment if she doesn't come up with something quickly.

She can't use much ether, so second best thing is dodging. How do you dodge a flamethrower at this close of a range?

Melia's answer is to dodge past Zhal, aiming a powerful strike of her hammer at his back as she dashes past. Following that, she quickly twists around and tries for a-

"Starlight Kick, Ha!"

-while Zhal is stunned, making a kick for Zhal's legs that, for some ponderously inexplicable reason, will always knock him directly on his ass no matter how glancing of a blow he takes.

Finally, should that strike connect, she will aim one final strike for the rat's head, aiming to smash it with one final brutal attack.

Gallivan sees that the Nightbringer is focusing his attacks on the others. Why? Was he simply too passive for the chaos fiend to bother with him? He had his golden armor tailored to fight evil of this nature. He should be taking these hits himself! Even as he witness Edelgard's tremendous power, he can't help but be ashamed at her having been hit to start with.

Ah, your ignorance of my existence is more vexing to me than anything you've said so far, fiend!

Gallivan pulls out... knuckle dusters. Holy knuckle dusters. And they shine bright as he goes flying at Nightbringer, attempting to bury his fist into his skull. He isn't fast, outright sluggish next to Rumia or Edelgard, but his strikes pack a punch, creating craters and shaking the ground whenever he hits it.

However, he mostly try to avoid collateral damage; Or punches for that matter: while he try landing a few good punches, his real action is lunging for Nightbringer, attempting to grab and hoist him up for someone else to attack!

Lonther

Yuki yelps in surprise at the guy teleporting in front of her. She puts her hands in front of her and flame shoots out, which both pushes her back out of range (and flat on her ass) but will hopefully also scorch the weird head guy.

Dragon Dance

Soulstealer gets bonked on the head, snarling but not showing a particularly strong reaction to the lightning. It's definitely doing damage though unlike the flames. The poison makes him cough up blue fluid but also seems to anger him further as he roars out and fires a beam of energy, dragging it across the ground to create bioenergy explosions before aiming directly at the Nergigante's face.

He follows this up by making a grab for his opponent's broken horn (or any other open injuries), attempting to use the opening to more efficiently drain energy from his foe.

Muratsa

Murasa hisses at the new slash across her back. She decides to finish off the knocked down rat by fucking yeeting her anchor at it before turning to face the twin sword one. She flicks her hand upwards and a forceful wave of water will burst from under him to hopefully send him flying upwards and slam into the ceiling.

"That was a pointless encounter with a pointless person."

Lonther

Oh, so he can teleport. Fun.

Artemis is thrown into the floor, but simply grits her teeth. She picks herself up and quickly does a Flash Step towards Angstrom. As she appears, she's already moving to slam her fist into the man's stomach, giving him only a split second to react. Then Artemis hops back again, preferring to not get grabbed a second time. She's still in her smaller form, making her harder to grab but also easier to move if someone does get their hands on her.

"...so it's this game you're playing at, eh? Alright..."

As she steps back, she starts to concentrate on the energy within herself. She doesn't have the mana or stamina capacity to use Godseeker right now, but she has other power-ups... Though they're annoyingly flashy for her liking.

The wind starts to pick up around Artemis as golden arcs of energy start to spark around her.

Five Months in a JRPG

Charlie chuckles at Gregory and Evan, but then freezes when Lolbit calls out to her by name.

Thoroughly stunned, she slowly mutters, "Uh... yeah. Cool."

"So what's your history with that, uh... guy? Girl? Thing?"

"I was fighting another ghost kid who was trapped in a battle robot's body. He summoned that thing-"

"Lolbit," Delilah interjects.

"... Come on. He summoned Lolbit as an entity to block out our vision until someone said the right word to make it go away."

"Most likely, it is a digital entity like the Dead King, able to exist inside any machine."

"Does that mean it was hiding in this place's Switch, too?"

"Who can say? But that's not important now. Right now, you need to get going."

"Right." Charlie looks at the Locator Byte, hoping it'll point the way to the nearest objective.

Nines Eleven

Eleven gets caught in Sarah's leg-hold, and even though Sarah lets go, Sadhri's attack still ends up hitting both of them, sending Eleven spiraling through the air.

   "Whoops."

"God damn it..." Eleven seems little more than mildly annoyed as she touches the stage with her hand and instantly flips back onto her feet.

"Okay, noise cannon's a bust," she grumbles, tossing the weapon away and putting up her fists.

Cocky bitches Sarah is able to get back up and wipe her lips, spitting out some more teeth that got dislodged during her fall. What was she going to do now? Eleven seemed to be still up and running quite well and Sahdri, while she'd taken damage from Cittufeni, was also at her current peak strength-wise. That punch was... far stronger than those she had thrown previously, after all.

One-on-one would be tough. Two-on-one? She had to take one of them out as fast as possible. Sahdri's moveset she was familiar with. But Eleven was a problem too, what's with her arsenal of powers. Who should she take out first? And how could she do it when both were together and already quite hard to kill?

... It seemed like Sahdri's senses were dulled without her glasses.

Tsk, that's some nice teamwork! I might as well just sit here and wait for you two to accidentally knock each other out! The sister says, with a confident grin on her face.

Sarah slaps her hands together and form a glowing ball of light between them. She holds it up at the fighters and then claps her hands, causing it to explode into beams of light that head for Sahdri and Eleven together. But, right as the beams seems ready to hit the latter, Sarah suddenly appear by her side, attempting to punch her in the side of the head with a downward punch.

If it succeeds, then the beams will have an easier time stunning Eleven, allowing Sarah to cusp her hands together and swing them at Eleven's chin with an upwards strike, meaning to smack her high into the air. As for Sahdri herself, she'll be suddenly swarmed with holograms of Sarah. And these ones are pretty vicious by her usual standards, being that they "wield" shards of the Necrosword each.

This means that they can't be hit, but they can hit with their swords, which are actually just floating along and guided by Sarah's will. Of course, there's an easy solution for Sahdri in particular, but it's why Sarah, should she succeed at fending off Eleven, immediately rush Sahdri with a Limit-Breaker empowered punch to the jaw. The holograms step "back" and fly up to attack Eleven this time.

Sisters don't have any particular weakpoint for Sarah to hit and abuse, being that they were designed to be devoid of those, so while she'd use her momentum to try to hit on a pressure spot or two on someone else, Sarah instead try to go ham on Sahdri with a series of intense punches and chops, trying to basically stunlock her in place until she could be worn down. Likewise, her punches were simple but efficient, adopting a boxer's form and style and wasting no movements at all.

The slightest mistake would be fatal for her. Flashiness and fancy moves would do her no good: she's just throwing hands with deadly efficiency, her footwork like a brutal dance as she attempts to sometimes land the odd kick or stomp on Sahdri's foot to prevent her from walking away. Or even distract her for a moment.

Sarah looks grim as she attempts to land punch after punch on Sahdri. She neglects big punches across the country for this outing, attempting to keep her in place to stack up the damage on her face and arms. Her power is fully concentrated but the sheer power of her strikes would still be enough to be a lethal threat unto themselves to anyone not in the Sister's league by this point.

Vijf Nachten Bij Freddy's: Dode Koning Editie

Outside

Delilah is not the only one who comes to that conclusion. Glitchtrap thinks the same thing. And the thought of other digital beings intrigues him. This is something he'd keep in the back of his mind.

"... after this is over we should get someone to look over all the electrical stuff in this place just in case.", Grape mutters.

"Wait, when did you fight another ghost kid?", Cassidy then asks.

"How're things going over there right now? Did the shopkeeper say anything remotely helpful?", Noah asks Cassie through the walkie-talkie. Ah, right, he has no way of knowing what Lolbit told them.

As things are progressing, someone, who had arrived at the hotel less than a minute ago, is now peeking through a door from behind the group, watching what's going on without making their presence known. Whoever it is, they don't have the context of what's happening since they just got here.

Inside

The moment they exit the shop, the Locator Byte begins to faintly glow. It emits four holographic arrows around it, each pointing in different directions.

One points to the forest, behind which lies the Dead King's castle. Perhaps one of the minions stuck close to the castle.

One points towards a more mountainous area. There may be cave entrances, but it's not possible to see from this distance.

One points towards a snowy area.

And the last one points towards what seems to be another, more distant town.

The one pointing at the forest is glowing the brightest, while the one pointing towards the snowy area is at its dimmest, perhaps indicating that these are the closest by-and furthest away keys. The other two are about equally bright.

"Okay, uh... which one first?", Gregory asks, understanding that implication.

"Perhaps you should go for the weakest one first. It'll be the easiest to defeat." , Glamrock Freddy suggests.

"But is there anything that can tell us which one of them that is?" , Glamrock Chica asks.

Meanwhile, Evan doesn't have much to add to the conversation, and he's not exactly assertive enough to be the one to decide which way is best. He'd rather follow the group consensus. As such, he walks over to the fishing pole and sits down, internally wondering if he could also fish up a fish as big as Jax's.

FISHING START!

Evan fishes up... a text box? It'll flash on the screen for the players to see, but none of the people in-game can see it, not even Evan.

Prologue - Deep Space, Sol System

"...alright. We've got a week before we get there, provided the fusion plant doesn't burn out or some other shit."

A brown-eyed, deep-blonde haired girl was sitting at the controls of a rather bulky cargo/salvaging ship. Custom-made to support people across great distances, this was the result of many designs and millions of dollars poured into a single craft. The exterior was a simple tan color, and nothing aerodynamic- rather being boxy and sturdy.

But, back to the girl. She was wearing an old off-white t-shirt, some jeans, a brown jacket, and a sturdy black backpack with a few attachment points. Not visible was her toned and subtly muscled body- really about as muscular you can get in many low-gravity or zero-gravity environments. She has a scar across her left cheek, presumably from a cut. Actually, most of her body is scarred- and her left leg is entirely missing, instead being a hand-assembled robotic replacement with exposed wiring, motors, and hydraulics. This is Lute, and she's a shipbreaker.

     Lute's Overview

Name: Lute Rinefield

Gender: Female

Age: 29

Skills: Spaceship Engineering, Melee Combat, EVA Operations, Piloting, Combat Engineering, Ranged Combat

Traits: Strong, Fit, Tough, Zero-G Hypovolemic, Slow Metabolism, Leader.

"Burn out? Lute, if you manage to burn out that reactor with how you've been doing so far I'd be amazed."

Lute turns to face the familiar voice. The messy black hair and sunken grey eyes of one Phillip Kindred meet hers. In contrast to the slim-but-fit Lute, Phillip is quite scrawny and limber from his time stranded in the ruins of Michigan. He's wearing a black t-shirt and some jeans, and even those seem too big on his wiry form. He also has a computer bag across his left shoulder, the bag itself resting against his right side.

     Phillip's Overview

Name: Phillip Kindred

Gender: Male

Age: Unknown, presumed late-20s

Traits (Positive): Hiding, Metabolism, Tracking, Medic, Hacking, Eagle Eye, Mechanic, Electrician, Lockpicking, Hacking.

Traits (Legendary): Elusive.

Traits (Negative): Feeble, Fragile, Insomniac.

Phillip flashes a toothy grin and slowly stands up from his seat. Lute unbuckles herself from the nav station, adjusting the PDA on her left wrist a bit.

"Uhuh. Says the guy who managed to get off Earth when nobody's been able to get there for fuckin' years."

Phillip shrugs a bit before giving a small, sly smile.

"Just a stroke of luck, eh? Whatever kept you from heading down didn't keep me from going up..."

"-yeah, yeah. We've had this conversation before. I want to know why you tagged along with me though, ya fuckin' weirdo."

Lute's foul mouth is the type to get her into trouble more often than not, but to the people she cares about a bit it's... still how she talks.

"Because you're not some 60-year-old geezer who's got their mind made up? Sheesh, Lute, you're one of the only people who actually gets what the hell is out there."

Lute sighs and crosses her arms. Well, she got her answer. But with Phillip, there's never a straight answer. Lute doesn't question it for now, instead stepping out into the main 'hall' of the ship, and then the living quarters. She grabs a water pouch and dried food bag and tosses the water pouch in the microwave for a bit before injecting the warm water into the food bag, which puffs it up. She then slowly sucked down what can best be called 'tasteless mush' before sighing and drinking from a different water pouch. Meanwhile, Phillip sits down at the table and powers on his old laptop. Most of his old programs have been replaced- his old GPS, for example, no longer worked. He kept the programs that let him easily unlock some tablets and phones, though- sometimes the traders at stations would sell old-Earth devices that he could crack and sell for a profit. They sit in silence for a while.

"Hey, Lute?"

"Yeah?"

"Have you felt like anything's been... watching us, lately? I dunno about you, but I've been feeling... odd. The aura of calm I used to feel from this talisman on my neck is... lesser now."

Phillip thumbs his small golden talisman held by a leather strip around his neck. Lute lets out a sigh at his words, but looks worried nonetheless.

"...now that you mention it, yeah. Ever since you taught me about that thing and its wraiths- this foreboding feeling-"

Beep... Beep... Beep.. Beep.. Beep. Beep.

Lute bolts up and scrambles to the nav terminal, turning the screen back on and seeing-

Beep, beep, beep, beep,

-an unknown signal that seems to be slowly getting closer to them from behind. That doesn't make sense- nothing should be behind them, lest they get burned away by the fusion cone that's propelling the ship. But-

Beep-beep-beep-beep

-it's getting closer, and both Phillip and Lute can feel that sense of foreboding increasing.

"-gah! The heck?!"

Phillip stumbles into the room, pulling his talisman off- the gold has suddenly melted and the leather is combusting. Lute, a look of horror on her face, quickly grabs a fire extinguisher and sprays it on the talisman... but the damage is done.

"Shit- fuck- goddammit- it knows, doesn't it?!"

Phillip doesn't get a chance to respond before-

bebebebebebebebebebebe-

The sound of the proximity alarm blares as a large Merga Wraith materializes in front of the ship. It effortlessly grabs the craft and pulls it into a portal.

...the intent was for Phillip and Lute to end up in Merga's realm. Except... Phillip's will to resist was made manifest by the focus the Merga had on him- having the attention of a great entity made it more likely you'd be able to perform great feats, after all.

Instead, Phillip ended up tearing the craft from the grip of the Merga and shunting it to a random universe, knocking himself out in the process.

One many may know.

Present - Arena Fields (No Zone/Between Areas)

"Phillip!"

Something's stirring him from his slumber.

"Phillip!"

He snaps awake. Lute is there. Phillip groans and sits up.

"...Lute..?"

Lute's face changes from a look of worry to a look of relief. An empty nano-med kit is sitting next to the both of them- then he realizes something.

...is that... grass under him? Sure enough, that's grass- Something he'd only remembered on Earth. Which means that presumably, they crashed there... right?

If only they knew the bigger picture.

Most of Phillip and Lute's wounds are closed, while the rest are bandaged. That 5000$ nanokit came in handy, but now it's used up. Any injuries they get now will need to be healed normally.

...a bigger matter is the ship. It's crashed, and isn't in working order. Most of the gear is smashed, but Lute managed to salvage a few things- a toolbox with some cheap hand tools, a pistol with roughly 24 gel-tip rounds (to prevent hull breaches), and some food and water that they'd now have to ration. Other than that? Phillip still has his computer- it still works, not that he knows that yet.

"Oh thank fucking god you're not dead. What the heck did you do?!"

Lute looks confused and slightly angry- but also worried.

"-jeez, I don't know..! I just... concentrated really hard on not wanting to be there at that moment, and... I think it worked."

Lute's face slowly turns to a 'nah that's bullshit' look. Fittingly...

"-nah that's gotta be a buncha bullshit."

Phillip shakes his head and sighs.

"Heck- I- I dunno, Lute. I don't know anymore, all I know is that we could be back on earth and now I'm unprotected from those things and-"

Lute slaps Phillip across the face.

" Oh, shut the fuck up! There's no time for whining, we've gotta get our damn bearings..!"

Phillip lets out a long sigh. He knows Lute is right. So he stands up, and so does Lute. It's been an hour since they crashed, so surely, someone's noticed them by now.

For now, they focus on getting some things in gear. Surviving. They won't see anything until nightfall if nobody comes for them, which would cast the glow of Hub Centralis in the distance.

"Oh, forgive my manners, I seem to have misgendered you... And so have you, for that matter."

The figure jumps down from the railing. If you were to look closer at its mask, you'd see what seems to be an aperture in the eyes.

"Anyhow... This land holds all sorts of threats. Invaders, warlords, magical beast, which will all attempt to ransack your castle. I assure you, I do not need permanent protection - as soon as I have created a fortification of my own, you will no longer have to worry about me."

Protos!Anna swings the tank into a drift, facing Julius, and trying to form a plan... She wasn't gonna charge at them - Julius is far too strong, and he could potentially destroy the car. Which would be expensive.

But she does have one tool up her sleeve that would persist through a teleportation.

She launches a triplet of sticky mines at Julius and Ishtar. If the two are getting away, she'd at least be getting in one more hit.

As Jax exited the store, his eyes wandered to the pond, wondering if he could try his luck again until Evan moved past him and up to the fishing pole. Walking behind him, Jax silently observes his fishing technique with narrowed eyes. Once the boy gets a bite, Jax leans forward as he reels in... nothing? He's probably more disappointed than Evan is.

"Maybe next time kid."

He consoles. He could have sworn there was a bite, but the thought vacates his mind as the weight of the fish slowly begins to set in. If he was going to be fighting, having one hand occupied wouldn't be the wisest idea. He tosses the fish underneath his cape, and it disappears. Where it went, no one knows.

"I vote we got the path of most resistance first! Better fight that way!"

"We should start small," Charlie replies. "You might have fun, but we'll get mulched if we're not ready."

"Yeah... What do you think?"

Emma instantly transforms into Victoria, with no gradual shifting like there is in the physical world.    "I don't want to test my limits yet. Logic dictates things will get harder the closer they are to the final boss, so I say we start in the direction furthest from the castle."

"We just got a sidequest called 'Four Layers Down' after interacting with the fishing minigame," Cassie says into her walkie-talkie. "Can you, like, do some hacker stuff and figure out what it's about?"

"A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to."

Outside

"'Four Layers Down'? I'll take a look.", Noah responds.

After about ten seconds, Delilah's monitor will glow green for a moment as some text coding appears on it. It then turns back to normal.

"Okay, wow.", is the first thing Noah says, sounding shocked. "I don't know who this Dead King is, but he nearly fried me during my hacking attempt. Don't ask me to hack this game again, I'd probably die trying."

"Seriously? You hacked Addison's computer system but you can't hack a game?", Cassidy asks through Cassie's walkie-talkie, floating over Cassie to talk into it.

"First of all, I didn't fail. I don't FAIL, thank you very much. Second, whatever the Dead King is made of, he's extremely dangerous. He almost corrupted my data. I'm glad I'm not the one in that game. Anyhow, I managed to uncover the details of this sidequest and some other hidden things that may come in helpful. Check out the screen."

Two text boxes appear on the screen. Once again only the players will be able to see them.

The first one reads:

"SIDEQUEST: 4 LAYERS DOWN"'

"Unlocking Requirements: Get the rare Warp event 4 times during battle."

The second one reads:

"BLACK CHIP"

"A secret hidden data chip that halves the damage of harmful counter-attacks. Affects the whole party. Does not take up an equip slot."

"That second one is the only one of its kind I saw during that brief moment I had access to the game, and I didn't have access for long enough to determine its location. If you find any sort of hint on where to get it, it may be worth it to acquire it.", Noah says.

"So now we just have to wait for them to decide where to go and see when they find something.", Mike says.

"Oh, if they'll be needing our help, we have to make sure all of us are in perfect condition!" , Glamrock Freddy says as he walks to the side of the couch to look at everyone with a controller.

"Be certain to tell us when you need food, a drink or a bathroom break. We can always get you the former two, and perhaps one of us can temporarily take over playing if you need the latter."

The one peeking at them is still watching, silently pondering on whether or not to get involved with this still-unclear situation.

Inside

"Huh? But the prompt said I had a bite!", Evan says, looking bummed. But Jax's words help a little judging by his little smile.

"If we find another fishing place you can do it.", he says as he puts the rod down and gets up.

Gregory then gives his two cents on the situation.

"I think we should at least go for the easier ones first. Y'know, to get used to our abilities. And when we are we can decide on which one to go for next."

He looks at Evan as he rejoins the group.

"What about you?"

"Huh? Uh... I don't wanna die again so I'm with Charlie and Em... uhhhhh...", he says, looking uncertain as he looks at Victoria. ... wait, did Emma actually tell him what Victoria's name is?

Regardless, with the votes settled on the easiest for now, one of the arrows begins to shine gold. It's the one pointing towards the distant town. Not the closest area (that'd be the forest), but considering it reacted to the majority vote being for the easiest minion, it's safe to say that that's likely what it's pointing towards.

"Hey, convenient. This thing really was a good buy.", Gregory says. He then pauses and looks at Charlie.

"Wait we don't have to pay you back for that after this right? Because I don't have any money."

"Mike can pay.", Evan nonchalantly says.

"What!?"

"Let's go then!", Evan says with a little smirk, ignoring Mike's protest.

The fact that this figure wanted to build his own fortress raised some questions on Jack's part. However, the offer did seem pretty good.

"No champ it's all you!"

He responds with a gleeful disposition.

"If we're in a game of some sort maybe it broke!"

Jax chuckles at the offering up of payment, focusing his eyes on the golden path. The Grandmaster at Arms swings his magical lamp overhead and begins heading down the golden path. He tried to move ahead of the group and act as a vanguard, glancing over his shoulder occasionally to ensure everyone was still following the path.

He's a little disappointed everyone wanted to take the easy path, but then the state of the people he's journeying with sets in. His love for the fight would probably put the kids in trouble, something Jax isn't too keen to do.

"Wild Martial Art:Hymn of Victory"

A few moments after the storm of Gaismagorm subsides, the pile of rubble burying Altzaira and Malzeno explodes as the Swordmaster rears up on her hind legs with her wings outstretched, the light of rage gone from her eyes as she emits a Mighty Roar. Unlike the previous one, its purpose is not to instill dread. Instead, allies within earshot of it will feel galvanized, feeling their soul be set ablaze with new purpose. This will significantly increase everyone's attack power, dull any pain, and perhaps most importantly, boost willpower in order to make it much harder for Gaismagorm's corruption to take hold henceforth.

"My many thanks, future worthy foe of mine. My sincerest apologies for allowing our first clash to occur while I was in such a pitiable state. When at last the time comes for us to cross fangs and claws, I shall make up to you and to the God of Blood for such a shameful display."

Phillip & Lute - Road to Hub Centralis

"...this is bullshit."

Lute was sitting on a patch of grass as Phillip worked on fixing an old van using some of the parts from their ship. Though it isn't perfect, at least the engine is mostly together now. He sparks the starter, and-

"Aha!"

A rumbling fills the air as he gets this relic of the past to run once again. Lute sighs and stands up, walking over to the van and just... sitting down in the passenger's seat. Phillip was better at driving, anyway. He flips the headlights on and a white light fills the darkness in front of them.

"So we're headed for a... fuckin' glow?"

"I'm gonna guess it's some kinda city. Hopefully, my guess is right, eh?"

Phillip shifts the van into gear and they slowly take off onto the road. The van's dashboard is lit up like a Christmas tree, though- while it may be fixed, it isn't entirely safe. Luckily, they don't need to worry about any sort of inspection. Lute stares out the busted window.

"Uhuh. I dunno what the hell you're gonna do if it isn't a fuckin' city, though."

Lute doesn't seem very optimistic. I suppose you wouldn't be either, if you'd just crashed something that had cost you millions of dollars to put together. Phillip, on the other hand, seems rather calm now, focused on driving.

"Well, it's gotta be... something."

Lute sighs and the two sit in silence for a while. Phillip's hand rests on the center console. At one point, with him so focused, Lute takes the chance of grabbing his hand in hers. He... doesn't pay her any attention, but he does notice, even if he does nothing but smile slightly and shift his hand against hers. Eventually he does speak up.

"Something wrong, Lute?"

Lute inhales sharply and pulls her hand back.

"Uh- I- nothing- fuck- nothing, nothing... Just..."

She sighs and looks down at her shoes, a blush on her face- though it isn't visible in the darkness.

Hub Centralis is coming into view, but they're still an hour or so away. So far, nobody's noticed them, but... hey, maybe they're just lucky. Or unlucky. Who knows?

Somebody did notice them.

They'll hear and, if their trashmobile still has rear view mirrors, see a dark teal sports car with red highlights driving behind them. While other cars being on the same road isn't exactly a rare thing, the complete lack of other traffic might be suspicious. That and the fact this obviously faster vehicle could easily overtake them but is instead staying a fixed distance behind them.

"Phillip? I'm not imagining that shit, right?"

Lute was the second to notice, but Phillip let out a small sigh.

"Yeah. You're not. I don't have the greatest of feelings about this."

Seeing as how this van would probably rattle itself apart if he went too much faster, he elicts to simply keep going. Lute, meanwhile, grabs her pistol- kinda useless now, seeing as the gel-bead tipped rounds won't be able to pierce paneling. They were made to not puncture spaceship hulls, after all.

"Well, I don't fuckin' trust whoever it is. Can't this thing go faster?"

"Even if it could, we don't know the roads. Not gonna run into a tree today..."

So, they're both tense now. Fun.

The sports car seemed content to follow at first but starts speeding up, getting closer to the scrapvan. It then looks like it will drive past them only to stop parallel to them, giving them a view of the fully opaque black windows. The car then moves aside before abruptly moving back to bash into the side of the van, if they don't move to avoid it.

"-woah!"

Phillip doesn't react fast enough, so as he turns to move, the van is slammed into, the whole left side denting.

"Holy fuck!"

A combination of no traction control, power steering, and ABS alongside Phillip turning too late means that the van easily spins out and goes skidding to a stop. Cue Lute sticking her head out of the van and hollering at the other car that presumably either stops or goes flying by.

"The fuck do you think you're doing, you shitheads?! What the hell is your fucking problem??"

Lute's holding her pistol in a steady grip. She also has a baton strapped to her side.

Meanwhile, Phillip is trying to restart the engine- the whole thing stalled from the impact.

"C'mon... work..."

His head darts from Lute to the car that just rammed them. He's worried, now.

The sports car watches them tumble before beginning to drive again, catching up to their fallen car but remaining at a safe distance. Casually coming to a stop, there's a pause of before the engine turns off. They might expect some smug dickhead to step out then.

Instead, the car starts changing shape, metal panels moving and flipping until standing before them is a car sized robot. Their red visor like face glares down at them as they start slowly approaching.

"-ohwhatthefuckhellfuckingno-"

Phillip's eyes widen, as does Lute's. That's... not great.

"What the... wait."

Phillip frantically digs around in his computer bag and pulls out two things- the computer itself and a homemade radio booster. Lute, meanwhile, lights a flare and tosses it right at the approaching bot. She's working on the premise that if it has some sort of camera, it'd probably be blinded by such a bright light tossed right at its face. She then fires her pistol at it- though those gel-bead bullets aren't gonna do shit.

"C'mon!"

Phillip flips open his computer and starts sending out an SOS before he scrambles to the back of the van- that case he'd put together ages ago might just come in handy now.

What's in the case, you may ask? Well, it's a homemade gauss rifle made from scavenged drone parts and an old hunting rifle. There's also a small pool of AP ammo with it- only 10 rounds. The battery to power it is still charged.

"Whatever the heck this thing is, It's probably like those drones I fought..."

He props it in the shattered back window and fires- though his lack of training with aiming it means the round won't hit center mass, maybe an arm or leg. 9 rounds left.
