Loki quickly retracts his hand, scowling with annoyance.
"Just when I think I have these artifacts all figured out... Fine, hold onto the bloody thing for now. But we're going to see if either Thor or Amaterasu can handle it later. I still don't trust that you won't misplace the Staff where anyone could find it."
"Come, we should find Iris somewhere more comfortable to rest."
Thor begins making the trek towards New Los Angeles with Iris in his arms, as Loki follows not too far behind.
"So, Loki, what did you learn about our mysterious ally from before?"
"Only that they apparently want Iris kept safe as much as we do."
Thor raises an eyebrow.
"What? They wouldn't even give you their name? In that case, how in the Nine Realms can we be sure they aren't making pawns of us in a bid to use her for some twisted scheme? For all I know, this concern for Iris might be little more than a facade meant to ensure we play right into their hands."
Loki holds up a hand.
"I suppose we could always lead with that whenever our paths cross again."

Flandre grit her teeth as she blocks the first strike with Laevateinn, this was troublesome. Much as she'd like to just destroy this lighting she wasn't quite sure how that would affect Thor. If only she could... draw it out. Hmm, what were Patchouli's lessons on elemental magic again? Lightning was Wood so all she needed was Metal.
Metal Wood Sign "Elemental Harvester"
Flandre raises her free hand and metal bursts out from the ground and walls (inexplicably doing little damage to the building itself) before forming multiple gears, which move to intercept the lightning. The gears then begin absorbing it into themselves, rapidly spinning in formation in front of Flandre and actually drawing out the lightning towards them. Effectively Flandre is attempting to give Thor an out to escape Sarah's gay baby jail.
If that fails they'll stop absorbing energy after a bit before forming beam edges then flying at Sarah like a modified version of her Clock that Ticks Away the Past, using the absorbed energy more directly against her.
While that spell sustains itself, Flandre does a cheeky move and two red marks appear under Sarah and two more above her which burst into fire geysers; aiming to scorch her and simultaneously distract her from what Flandre is doing.

Apothea was able to get a few of the The Grineer with heavier equipment, as Kroq-Gar seemed to stay behind the rest of the group on purpose. But that was for good reason Apothea would soon learn. She was fast, her magics helped those who weren't as fast keep up-
But when The Skaven come out to play, it is best not to play tag.
They were surprisingly fast, easily able to keep pace with them still, as their weakest members, adorned in crude dull knives and tattered cloth that hid what little wasn't infected with mange, were remarkably fast as they chanted about the "Man-Things", and for the "meat to stop running." The Grineer quickly clambered up the jutting platform, while Kroq-Gar stayed on the ground, snarling back as many Skavenslaves slammed against him in mass, all trying to pierce his thick hide with their fangs. Kroq-Gar was easily able to throw them off, a few clambering up to their feet to get away. Only for Kroq-Gar to nab one behind the head with his jaws, and thrash the screaming thing to kingdom come, with such force the body and head were severed from one another, as Kroq-Gar roared back in their faces, blood coating his teeth and lips.
Both sides had an animalistic hatred of the other, The Lizardmen for the Skaven's Aggression and desire for dominance. But when they saw the blood of their ally drip down reptilian fangs, a primal tinge of fear and wrath overwhelmed them. Memories of how in retaliation, many of their kin were gathered for sacrifice. An innate core memory, placed in them by a envious creator. Many Skaven shrieked and fled, giving Kroq-Gar time to climb up the pillar. While many other ratmen were invigorated to killed the scale-thing, yelling in one unified cry of war as they too began to clamber up the structure.
" RIKKA-RAK!"
The Bombadier Grineer armed up their handheld explosives, and threw them blindly in the crowd, and due to the sheer volume of bodies present, when it went off the sticky substance that quickly spread over the ratspawn and ignited looked like great mole hills of shrieking writhing bodies, as the rest of the Grineer Lancers and Stalkers fired down directly below them, dozens a second falling only for more to take their place.
AwawaSarah sees what Flandre is trying to do, but uses her own control over metals to restrain the bits before they can form into gears. She can't throw them back at Flandre quite, but her control is finer, and so she can at least prevent the vampire from using them as weapons, as she attempts to continue her barrage of attacks, aiming to overwhelm and overpower her both at once.
If they reach the base of the staircase, she attempts to whack her out of the base and into the 2Fort sky, flying after her to try to whack her further up into it!
As for the fire marks, one of them hit Sarah head-on, and lit her on fire, another singe her arm, the other two miss as she dodges them, her attention on Flandre unwavering. She even grins in joy, appreciating the pain and the feeling of dishing it back out. Despite that, it's... a competitive grin.
...
Malenia snorts and get herself back on her feet, taking a moment to compose herself. She fared against worse: twas no mere bolt of warping lightning that ruined her life, but the rotten touch of a god, and she forged ahead. So what if her body rotted once more? She would fight the infection, and she would beat it, as she had done so elsewhere.
Touching and "twisting" her shoulder in reflex, Malenia sees Grimgor approaching and get back up, ignoring the pool of blood forming at her feet. My name is Malenia, Blade of Miquella. She corrects Grimgor, refusing to be called such a name as "umie".
She points, her gigantic sword slick in blood. Our duel has been interrupted. Let us begin. Again.

Nautolan picture belongs to Bonesmarinated on twitterThe coming hoard is huge, and Apothea can sense it. More than even if she had the ability to see as a normal person should, she can tell just how many of these foes there are to defeat.
If there was a place to hold back, this is not it.
In a direct fight, she doubts this would go well- there are too many Skaven, far too many. By her lonesome she knows she is powerful, but how powerful is something that has remained all but untested.
In her world, there are few monsters or fighters that could call themselves her equal or her superior, relatively speaking at the very least. Perhaps a tiny bit greater than a thousand, for the people? There's no real way for her to check.
Right now, she focuses on this moment, her shattered sword remaining in its sheathe for just a moment longer as she takes the left flank. The gemstone on the weapon's guard turns yellow as visible lances of electricity begin to arc between portions of Apothea's body.
And, with one fell swing, she unsheathes the weapon, revealing it again in its full form, shattered a third of the way up its blade and yet still sharper than any mortal sword.
A sword that once belonged to a god. The sword that now belongs to her.
Though it does not have a name.
Her swing lets loose a wave of lightning upon the side of the fight she targets, arcs of magic electricity dancing and swimming through the ground like dolphins, multiplying and expanding to cover the side of the pillar she's focused on. Not stopping there, the electricity fans out below, continuing for a considerable distance before fading to harmlessness.
In short, she takes the pillar and some of the ground of the left flank and turns it deadly electric with magic, a shocking application more potent than if each and every thing in its field of effect were struck by lightning individually- though not quite so fast.
Even if electricity is not normally a threat to these particular foes, this electricity, which in truth is not electricity at all, may very well prove deadly.
...Though, Apothea herself does not seem unaffected by the endeavor, the glove she holds her shattered sword in marred by black, jagged lines as if some of the electricity she just released backfired onto her.
She suppresses a tremble, and puts the weapon back in its sheathe, drawing her second, much larger sword and preparing for whatever happens next.
Yatta!Azura nods quietly, downloading the information for later, so to speak. She then smiles and motions for Cain to come forward, the young boy having stopped to turn around and listen to Kiryu's spiel.
Ok! I'll jump then! She begins to do just that, while Cain hesitantly take some steps to reach them.
Ok! You win! But I'll beat you up as an adult! And with that, he runs off again, leaving Azura behind to hop in place.
Wovie! I'm getting taller!

Apothea's initial fone of lightning seemed to do wonders. The Skaven scurried away from the bright light display and their brethren caught in its arc became a chain-reaction as it coursed through the water and their conducive armor and weaponry, as all around them they saw skeletons illuminated by the magic at play here. She felt the bodies dropping around her in such volumes that to the others it was just a constant splash around them, falling soon after the light in their bodies died. It grew silent again, but now the water below them was especially charged, and most of the crew couldn't cross it even if they desire to. The Grineer seemed to be setting something up, barries that closed them off and corraled the group on the platform further, the Eximus growling under her helmet, as Kroq-Gar seemed keen on jumping down there to meet them head on.
Apothea heard it again, more footsteps. Kroq-Gar tilted his head once it came into line as well. This time the footsteps were accompanied by... Larger steps coming in. Wheels... And there were more now too. Kroq-Gar suddenly spoke up.
"Incredible performance... Do try and keep up... And watch yourselves, they now know we can bite back."
AwawaKiryu nods and walks off too, crossing out BINARY BILLY from Gradius' note.
He thinks about who he should go to next, and decides to give BARRY BLOODCOCKER a lesson about cheating. Thus he begins his search.
HUB CENTRALIS!!
Flyers rain down the streets of Hub Centralis, the will of Gor and the invitation to go to its church are literally splayed everywhere, from a gigantic black plane soaring over the city, discharging its paper payload all over town. The fliers stick to the walls after landing, or stick to random people, but never to the floor nor any undignified spot, like a gutter.
It's all because of Evelyn, who's throwing out fat stacks of flyers from her plane. ALRIGHT THANKS! she says to the plane's pilot, the Thin Mutant. He gives her a thumb-up before she simply kicks the rest of the bags out of the plane and jump down herself, grabbing her backpack with a parachute in it...
And tossing it away
WOOHOOO! YEAH BITCH! THE WILL OF GOR!!! she yells, raising her hands to make the V for victory with each. Smiling eagerly, she waits until she's seconds from impact and then, upon apparently spotting people at her crash site, she spins in mid-air to change directions, abruptly crashing upon the concrete pavement of the city, as papers continue to rain down all around her.
There's not even a lull though, for Evelyn immediately raises to her feet, dispelling the smoke and laughing. Hahahaha! Jumping out of planes is so much fun!
Nautolan picture belongs to Bonesmarinated on twitterWilliam sees some random woman fall from the sky whhile throwing their parachute away and runs after them if ever they get hurt, but his hindsight is lacking which makes him face to face with a paper, then a street lamp.

Behind the scenes, Icarus quickly checks some sensors in the Blu courtyard for destruction data, and finds... nothing? Some sensors are integrated directly into the steel, aren't they?
He'll have to ask about this attack after the match for sure.
Stefan, at this point, has reached the top of the spiral staircase, and sees Flandre pull off a worrying-looking attack on Sarah...
If Sarah gets downed, our intel gets stolen. Welp, let's bully a dragon.
He shoots a shrapnel grenade at Flandre's back, detonating it only once it connects, and places a shield between the courtyard and the upstairs area even before the grenade lands. Then he rushes off over to the battlements and across the bridge, dropping several shock grenades behind him as he goes.

If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.Evelyn keeps laughing but then approach William: she stinks. Like dog food vomit left to bake in the sun for days stink. And she wraps her arm around his shoulder immediately, patting him in the back. Haha! I'm Evelyn! On behalf of the Church of Gor! We have a message we'd like to transmit, so I'm doing it by bombarding people with it, haha!
She grabs a flyer and hand it to William, keeping her contact on. So! I'm blind! Care to say what it reads here? Or if I picked the right paper? I never stopped to ask myself that before, haha!
Nautolan picture belongs to Bonesmarinated on twitter"Ah apologies I didn't know! So this Gor guy is your deity huh..."
William's stutter is replaced by a gag, he doesn't mind the smell but it did catch him off guard. Evelyn's presence kind of scares him but he reads out the flyer as requested.
"Travelers, locals, behold gor at the grand opening of the church dedicated to its worship. Reach your highest point and learn of its teachings, and through your precious worship, create a universe where you might be the best version of yourself. Enter a skeptic, leave a worshipper. Completely legitimately. And set out to see for yourself the creator deity of a new world. Don't miss it, discover the apex of your existence."
"So a promise at a new life... Must be really nice for you?"
In good faith he pulls out his journal in a flash of light and puts the flyer between a page before it vanishes. He isn't averse to trying new things but a promise of power fantasy is something he treads extremely carefully. He's silent, trying to process his thoughts.

Apothea nods, too busy to bother with unclear body language.
"Try and stay safe, it will be a while before I can do anything like that again."
Partly a bluff, in case her enemies happen to be able to listen. She doubts they're organized enough to care regardless.
She is astonished by each and every Skaven's intense, positively suicidal determination. To see something like what she just did without slowing down...
Apothea shakes off a feeling of dreadful unfamiliarity.
Then, she begins to formulate a plan.
Mustering enough magic to attack like she just did again is difficult for her. The shattered sword makes it easier, but even with it she can scarcely call herself fast to act. She needs time to recover, time she doesn't have- because every moment she spends waiting, more and more Skaven have the opportunity to ascend further.
Her decision is swift, but not quite as decisive. If electricity is what they'll be expecting, then electricity will not be what they get.
Instead, Apothea ditches her sword for the moment, placing it back in its sheathe. With both hands free, she channels Weapon magic to forge for herself a huge, translucent red bow with a thick, hefty string many, many times too weighty to draw, more comparable to a siege weapon than any bow, no matter how great.
She draws that hefty string with ease, an arrow of raw white weapon magic forming as she does. She may not be a particularly adept archer, but a mediocre draconii archer is still an excellent archer, and it isn't as if there is a shortage of things to hit.
So, she lets loose arrow after arrow into the Skaven as they try and recover, focusing on any non-Skaven object seemingly being wheeled out against them in hopes of preventing their use.
All in all, it is nowhere near as effective as her prior attack. A single arrow should be able to cut down a line of Skaven if well placed, but against numbers like these that isn't saying much. She isn't likely to do more than slow them down.
But for now, that's the best she can do.

Finding herself being pushed further and further back, Flandre was getting even more annoyed now, mostly because as much as she'd like to just go wild like she once used to it would be rude to Icarus and not to mention rule breaking to well, break the arena. So her options in a confined space like this and against Sarah's firepower were limited. As it is she was barely keeping up with just her vampire strength, feeling more lightning burns on herself and further fatigue setting in.
After being slammed into a wall she thought of what to do... Well she could try that one spell.
Earth and Wood Sign "Crystal Overload"
Rather than relying on metals that evidently Sarah can just manipulate, Flandre quickly gets back up and forces the ambient energy to crystalize into amber and green colored crystals that rapidly orbit around her, one of them bouncing Stefan's grenade away mid rotation (and if he detonated it anyway it's left with a scorch mark but mostly unharmed, with fragments digging into Flandre's back but her ignoring them for now), absorbing more ambient energy.
Of course, Wood and Earth are actually a rather temperamental reaction so instead of trying to free Thor with it, Flandre makes a crushing motion with her hand. The crystals abruptly stop and crack before exploding like frag bombs, sending crystal projectiles everywhere; though inexplicably mostly towards Sarah. The projectiles also bounce on the walls rather than embedding themselves within them, making a rather chaotic scene, until they lose kinetic energy and fall to the ground.
Flandre also uses this distraction to simply fire a bullet barrage at Sarah. Kind of rude. She also fires a burst of scarlet energy behind her, seemingly at Stefan though it instead goes up the unblocked exit and somewhere else...
Reaching the bridge, Stefan will hear a loud screech before a significantly larger bat tries to swoop down and pin him to the ground, not trying to rip his face off thankfully but simply keep him immobilized if it succeeds.
Rumia's conveniently nearby but also inconveniently still KO'd for the moment, maybe something could wake her up.

"... so, hypothetically, if all I said was 'find Nesley'...", Pseudo sheepishly says.
"They would interpret that as 'find and detain the target, use lethal force if necessary'. They were initially programmed as a order enforcement squad, after all."
Pseudo remains silent for a moment.
"Mata Nui... this is why we give orders to the Vahki.", Helryx groans. "We can't change the order from afar, so we need to find the squad you sent out before they find Nesley."
"Right. I'll send out the monitor. Instruct some Vahki to locate Konngara."
"I'll make sure to mention that they should not attack her.", Helryx says as she walks out of the room, a little teasingly. Pseudo looks unamused.

"... now how do I get off of this island without getting spotted?"
If the Deliderp feels insulted by those words, it's not showing it. It stashes the Staff back in its tail, then hops over to Thor, seemingly choosing to stick with Iris. Perhaps as a response to Loki's words?

Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.Sarah decides to pick on Thor's cues for this, trying to dodge but realizing the room's too narrow. Taking damage, she decides to activate Limit Breaker, gaining the power, speed and endurance to plow through the Danmaku. She is far from unhurt, of course, but she might be less than Flandre as Sarah attempts to smack her right as Thor break free. If it works, Thor and Flandre will be shot out of the base and into the sky. If not, only Thor.
Sarah doesn't deactivate Limit Breaker yet: for she winces, upon feeling the damage she accumulated. She cover her arms (which took the brunt of the damage, and are still still somehow swing-worthy despite all of it) in the Necrosword and stick to the mode while her enhanced Healing Factor undo that damage, focusing it on her arms and neglecting the rest of the damage Flandre did to her. She has a lot of spikes over herself, though her tough skin means that they didn't fully break in;
YOU WEASEL! I WILL KILL YOU FOR THIS! Thor yells, as he goes off to try to confront Sarah. If this succeeds, he loads a fire projectile and links it to a trigger. He's about to jump over to the Red battlements, when he notices Rumia slumped over right in front of the Red entrance, and decides to jump down.
"Hey, you alright?"
He shakes her shoulders lightly.
"Arad left the battle, so there's nobody defending the intel. The red one, I mean."

Loki shrugs.
"We'd be foolish to rule it out entirely. At the very least, I think one of us should have a little conversation with him regarding Navitus."
They proceed to carry Iris into one of the houses, where Thor gingerly places her upon a nearby sofa before sitting down upon a nearby chair. Loki, meanwhile, peers out the window and raises an eyebrow.

Good news, it does not react to Loki's incoming hand with a dangerous black aura.
Bad news, it does react with a red one, and unless Loki backs off he'll end up getting a zap. It's nothing dangerous, but it will hurt. It'll continue to zap Loki until he fully backs off from it, so that does seem to be the problem.
