Unfortunately, the Nargacuga jumps backwards, knocking Reyna down and causing her Kinsect to hit its wing instead, grabbing white extract.
It then jumps forward again, but in a straight line, trying to hit the general area of its foes but going at an angle in an attempt to read their movements, being easily avoided if they just don't make the mistake of dodging into it.
Reyna waits until after the Nargacuga's jump, then recalls her Kinsect, twirls her glaive and shoots a pellet out of it, aiming to mark the beast's tail with a pheromone.
"A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to."Considering that Mara had jumped above the Nargacuga, she's safe from its attacks this time. She lands near Reyna once the beast charges forward.
"It's moving too fast for the particles to properly affect it. Perhaps a more powerful mental assault is in order. But I'm not sure if it's worth the effort and energy to break the mind of some random animal."
She pulls another sword out of her arm.
"... Ooooor I can just do this."
She throws it towards the back of one of Nargacuga's legs, aiming to have it be impaled so that the beast isn't capable of swiftly moving around anymore.
In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay. As the pellet hits the Nargacuga's tail, it blinks a few times and snaps out of its blindness, shaking its head.
And then Mara hits it, and it roars even louder, its eyes and the markings down its face now glowing red.
"It's enraged!"
The Nargacuga tugs at its pinned foot, trying to get free. When that fails, it raises its tail and swishes it in the air, then flicks it at Mara and Reyna. Just as Reyna had said, a barrage of quills fly at them, inflicting guaranteed bleeding on hit and having a high chance to inflict stun.
Reyna recalls her Kinsect to retrieve the extract before the rage mode roar, allowing her to shrug it off. She then dodge rolls through the quills only to get inflicted with bleeding anyway as she rolls through the quills, forcing her to stop and drop (but not roll).

"A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to."Mara is capable of simply bashing the quills away with her arm whenever they get to her. ... at least, that was the plan. To her genuine surprise, it turns out that Reyna wasn't kidding. While Mara can't bleed, the quills actually tear through her skin when they hit.
"Well, talk about a successful sales pitch." , she says to herself as she looks at her now torn arm. ... whatever, it'll regenerate.
She runs back towards Nargacuga's front, actually bothering to dodge the quills this time, and once she's back there, she unleashes more particles around her hands, then swings them to send them directly at the creature's eyes.
If Nargacuga is successfully affected by them this time, its eyes will briefly glow purple before it'll start to feel more relaxed. Even the pain from the sword in its leg won't bother it anymore.

In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.Nargacuga stumbles and blinks, the glow around its eyes fading.
For good measure, Reyna chucks a kunai laced with Sleep Herb toxins, which do exactly what they sound like, and moments later, the cat is having a nap.
"Phew..." Reyna looks at the Nargacuga with her hands on her hips, observing its tail. "I wish I had a Great Sword on hand so I could split that cleanly, but I don't. It's tough enough to take a ton of cutting from any weapon in our world except the GS before it comes off, and it'll probably wake up on the first hit it takes."
She looks at Mara. "You got something that'll do the trick?"
Edited by KiriK on Jul 13th 2022 at 7:20:16 AM
"A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to.""Yeah." , Mara says, before pulling the still-stuck blade out of the Nargacuga's wounded leg, casually walks around to its tail...
And then just cleaves it right off with a single slash.
In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay.Mara then just shows Reyna the trolliest grin before making herself invisible through illusions.

Pluto's Encounter Extravaganza
Goten gets affected by Hypnosis and promptly falls asleep. ... That was easy.
Trunks, however, is having more luck. His sight is beginning to return to him and he now sees The Albert coming. With his now slightly long monkey arms, Trunks tries to grab the Albert right when he gets close enough and right before Trunks would've been hit by the attack.
If successful, Trunks will slam him into the ground once, then yeet him towards Rei and Spiritomb like a bowling ball.

heavy credit to KiriK for this post
Auri got smacked side to side, but she managed to recover and tried to interrupt Emma's flurry of blows with another rising uppercut, closely followed by an overhead smash!
The problem with the Eidolon was that it was primarily a ranged fighter, specifically to cover Auri's blind spots as predominantly an axe wielder. Lacking true brawn, it simply held out its four arms and thrusted them forward, creating a weak pulse of kinetic force to blow Mega-Paco onto his back, hoping to keep him down for longer.
—
Thranix nodded. "Indeed, 'twas quite the hunt to get it! But for now, much as I'd love to tell you that tale, we're here to exchange blows, not words!"
He stomped towards the Ashen One in what seemed to be a wild frenzy, raising a fist high and going for a wild haymaker! However, as his fist came down, he pulled his motion into a circular one.
Rather than getting stuck in the ground, his arm grazed parallel to it, skidding to a stop with a 180º spin that left a ring of slime around his foe.
—
Megan grimaced at Icarus making his exit. "Well, whatever suits you."
Her Charge Blade being in axe form now, she was unable to effectively block the Tarnished's attack in time. The unga bunga club sent her sprawling, but she quickly rolled onto her feet, raising an incredulous eyebrow. "... Huh. Wasn't expecting a wood club. I respect the hustle, though."
"The Stick has sentimental value. It's like an enormous, hideous teddy bear we can kill things with." -rikalous"... what"
Nargacuga jumps at Reyna, who dives out of the way.
"Oh, so you really want me, huh? Well, come and get me!"
She runs away, leading it on a chase across the Guiding Lands.
Pluto clarifies something for the fighters, seeing as Catarina and "Simon" brought it up.
"Killing is allowed but not necessary. If you can't keep fighting, you're out, no matter how alive and awake you are."
"A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to."SILENT SHRINE, EAST END of CENTRALIA
"Arachie? Oh, yeah, help yourself to that old wood, we have no use for it anymore since it was damaged from the lightning strike." Suika explained perfectly, as if she wasn't drunk at all, as she drunk more sake."Suika, Suika, Suika..." Konngara let off another sigh, taking sips from a cup. The wispy red strands of yaksha-tail (?) seemed to be more distant than usual, perhaps from the alcohol. "So what did you have for me?" Reimu, still grumpy, asked.
"Oh, yeah, let me get it for you." Yuugi rushed back to her feet quickly, heading into a small closet to grab something from inside. The single-horned oni quickly returned to the main room with several modified outfits loosely based off Reimu's own, with motifs of the two oni and the yaksha added on. Yuugi placed the stack of miko outfits on a nearby table.
Darker shades of red became more evident towards the bottom, representing Konngara's tail (?), and Reimu's yin-yang symbol was placed right in the center. What looked to be (a depiction of) chains, much like the ones holding Suika and Yuugi close to the ground, were decorated down both sleeves.
Set down beside the outfits were what looked to be gohei, their wooden handles having been carved from the wood of trees that had grown out in the back shrine yard while Reimu had been absent. They each had five varying marks carved onto the wood, representing the five inhabitants of the shrine: Konngara, Suika, Yuugi, Reimu, and Araneo.
Reimu seemed to be thinking of how to respond to all this, a bit surprised at the effort.
IN THE SKIES just off the WEST COAST of CENTRALIA
noteAround the same time, a strange hole had appeared in the skies of Centralia, a little ways off the western coast. Suddenly, a very large spaceship appeared out of the hole, before closing. If observed by the right people, it would look familiar to them... as it began an uncontrollable freefall towards the ocean.
Meanwhile, in the pilot's deck...
"THIS IS R7039. MY LOCATION IS UNKNOWN... I BELIEVE I HAVE GONE THROUGH SOME SORT OF WORMHOLE ALONG WITH THIS SHIP. -[BTZZZZ]- FALLING UNCONTROLLABLY AS WELL." The pilot, speaking in a rushed, nearly monotone voice, was obviously announcing a mayday condition on over-the-air communication circuits, though to who was anyone's guess. Whether or not it could be received, given the circumstances, was another matter altogether. They appeared to be a robotic entity, painted almost entirely white. The "eyes" were solid red, surrounded by darkened glass.
Their upper arms and shoulders were made up of many smaller metal boxes held in place by some sort of semi-transparent glass. Some of the smaller boxes seemed to be non-functional, sparks being ejected out of them every now and then. Their legs, too, seemed to have suffered some damage, with a few slash-like holes in the outer covers of the robot's legs, revealing their mechanical interiors.
After not getting a response within a few seconds, the robot, seemingly in a panic, quickly stood up from the pilot's seat and hurriedly left the room, racing from deck to deck, wing to wing, in an attempt to find some way to stabilize the freefalling spaceship before it crashed into the ocean below. The robot could be seen if it was in someone's line of sight, as the spaceship was rather exposed to the elements. The hole that the ship appeared from was quite high up in the air, so the ship, although accelerating its descent from the forces of gravity, wasn't in immediate danger of crashing. Yet.

Rei points down at Goten.
"So he's done."
Hitting the deck, he instructs Vessa to use Calm Mind to buff their capabilities.
"Kyukuu...!"
"nom nom nom nom nom" he says, shoving wood down his mouth and it being ground up like it's going into a woodchopper. He seems mildly intrigued in the outfits, alas, he is too small to wear one.
Once the wood is gone (he eat fast), he scuttles over to Suika and sits on top of her head.

/\。。/\SILENT SHRINE, EAST END of CENTRALIA
Suika smiled, happy to see Araneo again. Knowing the spider would probably want some, the oni held up her infinite sake gourd, up within the reach of the spider, while Suika used her other hand to drink from the cup of the prepared sake Yuugi had prepared. The cuffs and chains tied to the oni's arms swayed as she moved.
Reimu finally spoke. "I'm... surprised that you all went to this measure not knowing whether I would end up back here again. When did you start doing this?"
"We started about a month or two ago... we only finished it recently."
"And the gohei? Last I checked you all don't really mix with holy tools all that well."
"Yuugi had figured out how to put it all together, though I presume you would still have to do your usual blessings to make them work the way yours do. You are the shrine maiden. I am simply a yaksha that has had to act like one for quite a long time." Konngara elaborated, turning to look at the astral sword that had been bestowed upon the yaksha when she was assigned her duty, as the "shrine keeper" of the Silent Shrine.
"Well, I certainly won't turn this down, so would you give me a moment?" Reimu asked, grabbing the stack of outfits with one hand and the pile of (unblessed) gohei in the other.
"Take as much time as you need." At this, Reimu hurried off down the hall to another room. This might take a few minutes.
Meanwhile, the three continued to talk. "I'm surprised Reimu-" Suika gulped down her cup mid-sentence. "-accepted that quickly." "Mhmmm..." Yuugi agreed, taking a sip from her namesake personal sake dish afterward.
"Reimu must have realized that there would not be much upside to being a shrine maiden on her lonesome around here, like she was with the Hakurei back home. There are some rather powerful people in this world... that, I am sure of."
Lake Ilinalta
The little Hermitaur stays on the shorelins, making some leeway into the old column drudged up from the lakebed. He was a happy little camper, not caring for the madness of the battle occurring.
Nagadilotep felt the first barrage and he actually did flinch, a baleen whale like call coming from him at this sudden and rude intervention. The whirlpool faltered breifly, the waters calming without his meddling. He would coontinue to spin around the fight to build back up the wake and suction of the depths, before diving down, lightning crackling around the battle site. He would scoop up the cannonballs and the bones at the bottom of the lake bed, storing them in his throat pouch. He inhaled the water around him as he kept the whirlpool's momentum going, before suddenly going to the otherside of the lake.
"I WOULD NOT INTERFERE. UNTIL YOU DISOBEYED AND INTERRUPTED MY GAME!"
He roared and shot out a beam of water at the cannons, the air actually popping from the energy and heat of the beam. He didn't aim at anyone in specific, just making sure the cannons would be reduced to rubble. Once that was done he dove back down and continued to build up the whirlpool, the storm growing far more vicious as lightning strike at the lake's surface, suddenly it's placid surface now made into rolling and chopping waves befitting a monsoon. And yet the leviathan's words were heard, mockingly so as he continued to spin around the fight
"Come listen to the tale I tell tonight!
The rulers with their priestly blood and many a knight~
For all through history
They always seemed to be
The ones who'd stand and fight for the "light"...
Their wisdom and their courage seemed so divine!
Yet lacked the will to see how bright power shines!
I watched the kingdom fall
The water drowned them all!
And pulled their legacy into the brine..."
He laughed as he continued to swim along the edge of the vortex, whistling as he waited for someone to fall in.

AwawaSkyrim Lake
The brawler screamed like a girl at Marco as he entered his phoenixified form, but only tightened his grip, until he got a good old whacking from a much larger man and threw Marco away to free up hands to beat with. He took a brief moment to recover, after which he promptly realized that he could offer Whitebeard an olive branch in the form of liquor. At least, that’s how it worked where he came from. He turned away and opened a barrel, eager for booze, but found only a oddly blue-haired human inside. Disappointing.
With a groan he slammed the lid shut and looked around until he finally found a full one. As was a customary sign of friendship and respect where he originated, the brawler lifted the full barrel over his head and threw it directly at Whitebeard.
With great power…you know the rest.A Desert in Lourent
The deserts of Lourent is as uninhabitable as ever, with sparse plant life and equally sparse faunas. Despite the constant sunlight and infrequent rain, the climate can be rather cold.
The environment aside, this area is still a part of the Arena, meaning that the Paranormal Incident Lookout will be mapping it out for the sake of navigation. Since Jeridan did a relatively good job of assessment at a fort last time, he is dispatched for this mission, having been assigned mapping tools and a bike.
At the moment, Jeridan is riding along his bike and attempting to find a civilization he can take a rest at. With any luck, he should be able to obtain a map too.
Reyna leads the Nargacuga into a place filled with corpses, decay, and a fog of flesh-eating bacteria.
And hey, there's an Odogaron there, chowing down on a hunk of meat it ripped off of god knows what!
Upon seeing the Nargacuga, it swallows its meal whole, howls like a demon
as its flesh begins to glow and let off steam with heat. Nargacuga screeches right back, and thus begins a turf war.
Nargacuga swipes its left wing at Odogaron, which dodges to the left. Nargacuga then swings its tail from Odogaron's left, but Odogaron jumps over it and lands on Nargacuga's back, flipping it over!
It then begins chomping at the Flying Wyvern's neck, but Nargacuga easily flips Odogaron over with its right wing, reversing the situation and pinning down the Fanged Wyvern to bite down on its neck!
Odogaron thrashes and jumps upwards, managing to shove Nargacuga off and cling to its neck. As Odogaron tries to get on top of Nargacuga again, though, the winged cat-like wyvern swings its head and flings Odogaron away, sending the four-legged beast tumbling and crashing into a mound of bones!
The wyverns recover and take a moment to snap at each other, at which point Nargacuga decides this fight isn't worth it anymore and just dips out, leaving Reyna, the invisible Mara, and a very pissed Odogaron in the area together.
Congregation of the Fearless - Guiding Lands
"Very cool." Reyna launches a pellet at Odogaron to try and set her Kinsect to hound it.

"A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to."Neptune - Home universe of Icarus
It's been a long day of work. Icarus has been working on an inter-universal portal that won't give cancer to any organic being which steps through it, and he almost had a working design in front of him. Almost, because there were still some optimizations that he wanted to apply to it, but as the hours progressed, he started becoming more and more frustrated. Maybe he needed a break.
There was that one interesting universe that he had visited a while ago, where he also placed a small assembly line. Maybe something interesting had happened in the meantime? Luckily, he didn't have to send another constructor mech through...
Lourent Desert
A bright orange constructor mech was lying in the sand, next to a small assembly line. All of a sudden, it started up, rose from the sand, and started examining the surrounding machines.
Yep, they're all backed up! The belts were flooded with coal, refined carbon, diamond and carbon fiber, and so were all the smelters. Icarus was surprised that nobody had wanted to take a closer look at his machines.
Now that he was here, what did he want to do? Maybe some stargazing? He already had a pretty much complete map of the planet, mapping out the sky wouldn't hurt. An observatory, preferably with public access, could be an interesting and calm project to pursue. So he looked around the area, and spotted a lone bicyclist in the distance, who almost got tackled by a weird-looking monster and its rider... should he confront them?
If it disagrees with experiment, it's wrong.Mara continues to follow, and observes when the two creatures encounter one another and start duking it out. How territorial. ... also pretty impressive moves from both of them.
Mara watches as the Nargacuga retreats, then turns to the Odogaron.
"Tips on that one?" , she asks Reyna as she dispels her illusion, becoming visible again.
In the year 202X, all is devastation... Soon, any last shred of hope had by the saintliest optimist shall die and decay. The young man is currently caught a single glimpse of Trainer Rhea's face before the massive deer literally jumped over his head while he's on the bike. Jeridan decided that it would be a good idea to follow the woman, considering she seems to be heading towards a destination. Who knows, maybe she'll lead him to somewhere inhabitable and he can complete his mission early.
Without hesitation, Jeridan revved up the bike and accelerated, following the Wyrdeer's track.

"Hyperaggressive, very fast, can also do bleeding. We won't really be able to get its claws without really crippling it, so honestly killing it would be more merciful."
Odogaron jumps out of the way of the pellet, then rears back before lunging at the two with a bite, then dragging back with a claw swipe that can inflict bleeding.
Reyna rolls out of the way successfully this time, taking aim for another pellet shot.
As Rhea rides, she glances back and sees Jeridan chasing her.
Or, well, she thinks he's chasing her. She skids to a stop before turning around and silently glaring daggers at the agent.
"A wizard is never late, nor is he early. He arrives precisely when he means to."Marco just run head-first, letting the blade skewer him through as he attempts to kick Emma in the stomach with a strong kick using his talon, attempting to completely overpower Emma and slam her into the lake deeply enough to lodge herself deeply into the ground of the turbulent lake.
Hoo-In!
Regardless of success, Marco's wound just... vanishes, and he assumes a more humanoid shape with only his arms being blue fiery wings. If her gun is still in his guts, he pull it out with his legs, briefly turning them to talon, and hold it up.
Nice gun! How much could I sell it for, lady?!
...
Whitebeard rolls his eyes when he notices another infiltrator, but by this point, he rolls with it. When the barrel is thrown his way, Whitebeard decides to do the manliest thing he could do by grabbing the barrel out of the air and shotgunning it by punching a hole in with his finger, before consuming the entirety of the booze at once. Once done, he tosses the barrel into the lake with a casual throw, smiling.
Nice try, brat! But you won't be getting me drunk anytime soon with that apple cider they call "booze", he grabs an older barrel as some of it slide, perturbed by the waves, and he throws it at his former enemy. His debt for assaulting Marco has been paid, and besides, Whitebeard is Whitebeard. Have some proper booze for ya!
The water missiles are mostly intercepted, as Izo manages to shoot several out of the sky with his fabled pistolero prowesses. But even he only has two guns, so the water shots slam into some of the cannons of the ship. The Moby Dick is sturdy, and so is the crew, but the cannons roll back and the men manning them are sent flying, even if they remain on board.
That doesn't make sense! The beastie is talking to us and using water blasts! How is it doing this?!
Talking? It's singing, Newgates scrubs his right ear. Bah! I've heard better!
As the lake rages, the Moby Dick, a ship made to withstand the perils of the New World, remains rooted. It does rock to the side, and many of the men need to find something to avoid being thrown around, but Whitebeard decides to laugh until he's quite literally louder than the giant monster, using his Conqueror's Haki to help himself.
A shockwave of pure ass-kicking willpower, with black-and-red lightning crackling though, spreads. It could affect Emma and Nagadilotep, who will need to basically roll willpower against Whitebeard's. At worst? Knocked out cold. At best? Mild discomfort, but nothing bad.
Why don't you spare us the lullaby and go home before we show you what we make of fishes, brat?! he taunts, putting down the bottom of his polearm so hard that he rectifies the boat, making it stable in the turmoil of the lake for a few seconds. I AM WHITEBEARD! AND THESE ARE MY SONS! IT'LL TAKE MORE THAN A MERE SEA KING TO DO US IN!

Mara lands on her feet, only to get smacked down by the tail. It doesn't really hurt her, but with her now lightweight body it's much easier to knock her down.
After the second spin has passed, Mara gets back up and begins unleashing golden particles again. At the same time, she leaps over the Nargacuga without making any sounds (no explosions = no sound in her movements).
"It just ate and now it's spending a lot of energy in a panicked state. So if I can get it mellow enough..."
