The duo's gambit succeeds, but Leesarix blocks Sanji's kick with a magical shield projected from his empty hand, creating a huge shockwave and crater.
It seems he, too, is just about done with this. He attempts to nail Sanji with a vicious stab and drag the sword out at an angle to create a brutal gash!

Divine Burden
Sanji's eyes glows red, and he sees both attacks coming his way. Or at least, their pattern. He kicks the air near Leesarix to slide away from both attacks, ending up behind Killer Bat's back, and try to kick at it multiples times.
Hachis! He yells, as he unleash forth his move, intending to hurl KB into Leesarix!
Fallout 2? More like Fallout 2 bad.
At last Killer Bat falls victim to a 'Nothing Personnel Kid' attack himself, and as such gets kicked, as well as sent hurtling towards Leesarix.
He fades away before he can hit Leesarix though, going back into the shadows.

Leesarix stands up straight and readies a defensive barrier.
I have picked up on a suitable location for the unsealing. We are so close now, we cannot afford further setbacks. It may be more worth our efforts to retreat with a warning rather than persist.
Still, he waits for Killer Bat to respond before making any further moves.

Sanji begins to kick the shit out of the barrier, desperate to end things. While Leesarix's death spell and thrashing did plenty, Killer Bat was the one who put painful injuries all over his body, and he'd rather defeat both quickly!

Killer Bat is still very furious, his desire to maim Sanji pretty clear, but his gaze becomes chillingly calm when he telepathically hears what Leesarix tells him. The Darkness is more important than his own emotions, it seems. Which is good for their cause.
He moves behind the barrier and wordlessly nods to Leesarix.

"Hear me," declares Leesarix, stepping away from the barrier. "If you value your lives free of pain, you will avoid the island of Intrigue no matter what."
With that, he vanishes, taking Killer Bat with him.

Two figures, one cloaked and the other hedgehog-shaped, have been overlooking the battle and its aftermath.
X: "Intrigue, huh?"
Kaze: "If that's where they're going to unseal the Darkness..."
"Then it's where we're going. That kid pal of yours gonna be alright?"
"Showing concern is unlike you."
"So what if I'm getting soft? Only a matter of time until some reason is contrived for me to switch back again."
"You will not interfere," demands Ansem, appearing behind them.
X motions to Kaze to hold still while he turns around. "Oh yeah? Last I checked, our little alliance was done and over. You ain't Norting me, and I ain't messing with you. Last warning: Piss off and let us do our worlds-saving business."
"Cease... and... desist."
X taps Kaze on the shoulder, and he does a dramatic cape-swishing turn around, revealing an already-thawed Magun.
Ansem wordlessly warps away rather than pick a fight with what he now knows is a Final Fantasy protagonist.
"He's gearing up for war."

The situation is dramatic as Sanji behold their retreat and is left glowering...
Hmph! Well, off the save the laadddiieeesssss!
Sanji pick them up with each arm and run off.
...
There's now a Namekian standing above the duo, having apparently freshly arrived.
World saving? You guys do that too? He asks, keeping his arms folded. He sounds more curious than anything.

Killer Bat wordlessly vanishes with Leesarix, not bothering to immediately retreat into his shadow. Doing so might ruin the whole point of leaving with a warning.
He does question why Leesarix would tell them about that specific island though. If Killer Bat had been at the word, he wouldn't have given them any information at all.
Estraole
About ten minutes later or so, Killer Bat pops up in a secluded part of the volcanic area, sensing a dark presence.

Kaze looks up. "Yes. This current mission's plan is to stop the blond armored man with yellow eyes and tainted-dark skin from opening up a portal to a living darkness that will devour all of existence."
He says nothing else. No invitations or warnings, just the facts as they are.
And X doesn't say anything because all the dialogue in the previous post was shown to Def to make sure it was in-character and he's not here right now to do the same again.
Estraole
Dark Riku is roaming about. That's the one Ansem told Killer Bat and Leesarix about - the one who may be able to help them.

Killer Bat spots and recognizes him. As such, he approaches.
"You. Riku, correct?" , Dark Riku should hear within his thoughts.

"If the Darkness is unsealed, regular sealing techniques won't be enough to send it back. It needs to be forced back where it came from."
Kaze stands there for a Beat.
"So, yes, the plan basically is just 'hit harder than the other guy'."

"Ansem told me to find you... he told us you have the resources necessary to find a suitable location for me to unlock the Door to the Darkness..."

Kaze says nothing more.
"I don't," Riku bluntly answers.
"I have the key to that door, though." He manifests the Keyblade of heart.
After looking at it for a few seconds like 'do I really want to give up this reality-warping superweapon?' he goes 'screw it' and tosses the Keyblade to Killer Bat.
"Don't break it, there's only one."
"He's gearing up for war."
Killer Bat looks at the weapon as it's thrown at him. He swiftly catches it, looking it over, then looks back at Dark Riku, eyes narrowed in disbelief.
"This is a Keyblade, right? Is it really strong enough to open the Door to the Darkness?"

"Well, it's supposed to be the Keyblade that will open the Door to Darkness - one-of-a-kind, accept-no-substitutes, special requirements to create it, et cetera. So yeah, if it can't do that, I don't see why I'd be offering it."

"... If I hadn't been made aware of the nature of these things before today, I would not have believed you. But if it was truly made for this purpose..."
He nods.
"Then with this, it shall be done."

Dark Riku shrugs and walks away. Guess that wasn't important to him or anything.

Killer Bat grins darkly before he and his newly acquired Keyblade sink into the shadows once more.

Lourent, Oasis
Wanda is currently sitting at the edge of a sizable pool in one of Lourent's oases, her crimson jacket and boots resting beside her as she allows her bare feet to soak in the refreshingly cool water. Despite the general atmosphere of tranquility and serenity, however, she couldn't help but replay the conversation she had with Lucas and Claus regarding Mani in her mind.
"See if there's a change in her behavior, then figure out what to do from there... but what if I end up making the wrong decision? If I kill Mani, but it turns out that she wasn't a younger Mara, I'll have to live with that forever. And if I spare her, only to learn that I was right all along... history will just repeat itself in her time."
She blows out a heavy sigh.
"I could just ask her if she's finally made her decision, but even if she chooses evil... would it be right to kill her for something she hasn't even considered doing yet? Argh, damn this whole situation..."

Speak, or... well, think of the devil, and she shall appear it seems. Mani enters the oasis area as well. She's not looking at Wanda, so she doesn't notice her.
She walks up to one of the pools, looking into it as she clutches her stolen cloak, seemingly deep in thought.

Before she can give any further thought to her unorthodox dilemma, Wanda catches sight of Mani gazing into one of the oasis' other pools. She takes a deep breath, mentally preparing herself for what was to come.
"Okay... time to figure out what the hell my next move is."
She lifts her feet out of the water, stands up, and approaches Mani. Noticing that she was otherwise preoccupied with her reflection, she clears her throat in an attempt to get her attention.
"Oh, Mani! What a... pleasant surprise! I wasn't expecting to run into you today, least of all in this place."
She puts on a smile.
"I hope I'm not interrupting something important."

Killer Bat grins evilly before sending the powerful, charged beam of lightning at the wounded Sanji, intent on making this the killing blow.
However, Sanji will be hit by his ally's boosting attack before Hornet Blaster has a chance to hit him, and as such Sanji's attack on Leesarix allows him to dodge the attack.
Now looking furious, Killer Bat charges for Sanji during the latter's attack on Leesarix, done with the usual fare and now attempting to just outright tear into Sanji with his claws. It seems he's lost his patience.
