No hesitation. The Lingering Will swings his Keyblade at Anakin twice, then turns it into a drill and thrusts forward with it.

It's a long story, rife with long political discussions and the likes that you would find quite uninteresting.

Hm... that might be outlandish, but, my young friend, I do not believe that we share the same time, if I may theorize so. I do believe that eons separate us, as they separate the Jedi Civil War and my own time, if I may be prideful enough to refer to it as "my own", of course.

Anakin's struck twice! He only avoid the drill with an acrobatic flip above it, swinging his lightsaber at his foe's shoulder!

The lightsaber carves a gash into the Lingering Will, making him drop to one knee.

If Anakin pays attention to the wound he left, he might notice that there's nothing underneath.

Anakin lands and notice the wound and the lack of... anything underneath the armor! He actually look shocked at that, leaning back at first.

What the... what kind of power animates you?!

Lingering Will snarls as he rises back up to his feet.

The only answer he gives is another cry of, Xehanort!

Anakin may be able to infer that the Lingering Will is the spirit of a long-gone warrior, sustained by his undying hatred of this 'Xehanort'.

He turns his Keyblade into a glider again and goes for another series of ramming attacks.

Anakin frowns, piecing things together as he defend himself, lashing out with a vertical strike of his own after willingly taking the last thrust to the chest!

Ben simply nods in response, possibly surprising Palpatine with how well he's taking the whole "different timelines" things.

"I see... this actually isn't the first time I've found myself in this situation, if you can believe it. The Sith I mentioned earlier, a man named Kylo Ren, said he came from a time where the Sith Emperor's, well, empire was a long faded memory," he says. "To him, figures like Darth Malgus, Grandmaster Shan and even myself were practically fossils."

Thor's gaze flickers to Platinum's drone.

"And? Has Thanos agreed to the bargain or not?"

Palpatine restrains himself from saying that by his time, Ben might be a fossil too.

Hm, odd. Perhaps this Kylo Ren is somehow from the future for both of us. I do not know anyone named like that, and a dark Jedi would've been noticed at some point.

By my own time, it is quite difficult to remember those legends as well. Only scholars truly know the tale of Darth Revan for instance.

Lingering Will receives another gash. He releases a flash of light as a swarm of mechanical-looking drones materialize in the air around him. They strafe around Anakin while pelting him with Frickin' Laser Beams.

Anakin attempts to defend himself as best as he can, but receives quite a lot of burns from the attack! He can only deflect so much after all.

He attempts to lash out with a wild series of lightsaber attacks, to try and destroy the swarm.

The bits are destroyed easily, but then Lingering Will jumps in with a flurry of berserk swings of his Keyblade!

Anakin attempts to put up a berserk offensive of his own! After all, you fight fire with fire! This approach, however, means that he take a heavy amount of damage!

The Lingering Will receives a glancing blow in the exchange. Light pours from the rupture, and from his other wounds.

He stops and looks at Anakin, who should be able to see his own face symbolically reflected in the warrior's metallic helmet.

It does allow Anakin to see the rage on his face, causing him to stop swinging his lightsaber, backing away in shock and shaking his head.

At the same time, Lingering Will rises up, looking ready to continue the fight.

Xeha... no...

His Keyblade arm lowers. Another wind blows through, restoring the area to its prior vibrant state.

I should have known sooner. You're not him.

The Lingering Will takes his Keyblade in both hands and plunges it into the ground.

And yet, you feel so very similar. Do not follow his example, warrior.

With that, the Lingering Will lowers back onto his knees, supporting himself with his Keyblade... unmoving.

"That does seem to be the case, doesn't it? Nonetheless, if or when Ren resurfaces, I'll make sure his blade never touches you."

Ben then smirks at the mention of Revan. Inwardly, he thinks back to when he heard that Revan himself had appeared in the Arena and helped repel an army of the undead.

"Oh? Do these scholars also know that Revan eventually turned back to the light and fought his old apprentice, Darth Malak, aboard the Star Forge?"

"Even if it's a trap, some progress is far preferable to yet another bloody victory for that purple arsehole. You have my word that I'll work to ensure our success this time around."

Thor wheels around to face the newly arrived Warlock, offers the Soul Stone wielder a smile, and extends a hand towards him.

"By Odin's beard, I was almost beginning to fear that we'd never meet in person! I'd introduce myself, but... I suspect you know full well who I am."

Anakin is a bit freaked out and confused, especially when his opponent heal himself all of a sudden!

I am glad to be under your protection! He says, bowing. He looks amused when Revan is mentioned as a "he".

They did, though it took a lot of time to be known. When Revan defeated... her apprentice at the Forge, few were aware that they were celebrating the victory of the one person who started the conflict. Though to Revan's credit, she ended it herself.

But the public accepted it. There was Darth Revan, the brutal pragmatist, and Revan, who went back to the light, serving as an inspiration towards Jedi.

Unfortunately not. I know of your name, power and importance, but you are quite different from the Thor that I have fought, either against or with, during so many battles!

Ben just... blinks and stares at Palpatine as if he'd just transformed into a rancor before his very eyes.

"Um... I-I'm terribly sorry, sir, but... did you just say that Revan was a she?"

"Then rest assured, we'll have plenty of time to become better acquainted with each other, both during and after our war with Thanos," Thor replies. "And don't worry about the possibility of Loki betraying us. He and I have long since reconciled with each other."

Well, the records are absolute... or so say Jocasta Nu. he says, almost sounding dismissive.

Yes, Revan was a woman. It seems that we are separated by more than a simple difference in time.

Yes, its power is awesome. Few can withstand its weapons and live to tell the tale. Let us not allow Thanos to bring such a formidable asset to the table!

"I can't confirm anything, but from what I've heard, he somehow learned of the Sith Emperor's existence and set out to confront him. At least, in my time," Ben says. "And since the Emperor remains at large, I can only assume that Revan's attempt was... unsuccessful. That said, I doubt that will be the last the galaxy will see of him. Call it a feeling."

"Callis should also be informed of this meeting. If Thanos does intend to use it as a trap, we'll undoubtly require her both her might and intelligence to turn the tides against the bastard," Thor adds.

Who is this Callis? asks Warlock.

Of course. It would be all too disappointing for such a person to succumb at the hand of the Sith "Emperor."

Vitiate was an idiot and a fool born with too much power, thought Palpatine. He would've been quite the bother had he been allowed to keep existing. A shame that one such as him would get the honor of downing Revan.

"Agreed. The Emperor may be incredibly powerful and cunning, but Revan's no stranger to overcoming seemingly impossible odds," Ben says.

"A Saiyan who, unlike other members of her species, is both highly intelligent and noble in addition to undeniably powerful," Thor explains, smiling slightly. "I'm quite honored to count her among my closest friends."

I know not what a Saiyan is... but alas, I have an idea from what you've said.
