In the Lobby, Omega raised an eyebrow — not that anybody would see, unless they happened to be walking through

"Well, let's see," Tiamat said, as she bonded to Ansar, and began determine how best to assist Rhea in this matter.

"The enchantment kit and library card are for Rey — I have something rather useful in mind for his... controllers? And the card will allow access into my realm, once I can access it again. The first tome there is for Rbade, and contains information on a dimension that, as I understand, holds some particular importance to him — amongst other things. The second is for Dylan. I had to put an autotranslation spell on it, since it's so old, but it's an ancient manual on combat techniques and aura powers. The last comes from my home realm, and is a grimoire written by a bit of an odd lich. I thought Omega might appreciate it, and it's secrets."

While she spoke, she had arranged a spell circle for the portal, imbued with the requisite magic to activate at Rhea's request.

"Now for the touchy part..."

She de-bonded from Ansar and bonded to Lumasi.

"Ever see chaos magic in action before, Rhea?"

"Oh. Cool."

"Ah."

There's a sort of natural stillness in the air.

"... Nicole, a lot of my questions are of a potentially more personal matter. Maybe the time for me to ask them would be around a bunch of your own other friends, like the opposite of what we have right now?"

"Ah, I think they'd all like their gifts."

"Afraid not," Rhea says. "Sounds dangerous, though. Like... spicy magic."

Solitude, Winking Skeever

Nicole raises an eyebrow at Nik.

"Oh? Tell ya what, after this little party's wrapped up, I'll answer every last personal question you've got once we're back at our place and you're feeling ready to ask. That alright with you?"

Hotel Del Rey

Dylan shrugged.

Dylan: "I dunno, but it's really obvious."

Nik thinks to herself. "... Alright. And now that you call it a party... Hey Chris, do they have any soft drinks down there?"

Chris doesn't even look under the counter. "We're in Skyrim, everything's fucking alcoholic!"

"Right."

Terlette perks up. "I can fix that."

"You can?"

"You can?"

"You can?"

The black-clad mage stands up and walks over to the counter. "Simple water magic. It's like how I make potions by infusing the ingredient into the water, but in reverse, so I'm taking the ingredient out instead - in this case, the fermented stuff."

"Not gonna taste very good."

Terlette pulls out a sweetener packet. "I have to admit, I've been carrying these around in my pockets. Potions taste much better with a little sugar, like medicine. Just gimme a few minutes and I should be able to whip up a rudimentary ginger ale. How about you, Nicole?"

Nicole flashes a smile at Nik, then glances over at Terlette.

"I think I'll just have a beer."

Hotel Del Rey

Tiamat repressed another laugh at 'spicy magic'.

"Well, think more... erm... how to describe it..."

She made several stretchy, loopy hand motions that suggested a complete mess.

"Barely-controllable space-melty magic. Even as a goddess of magic, I can't always predict what unrestrained chaos magic will do. In most other magic, the rune circles call forth the magical effects. With chaos magic, it's more like... limiting what you don't want the chaos magic to do. The more restraints one adds, the stronger of a mage one needs to be."

Her hands lit up with cracked, jagged lines of purple light, and dark rings of fractured runes appeared around them.

"Coincidentally, sometimes a mage wants chaos magic specifically because it will break some of the rules. Like time rules, for instance."

She twisted her hands in the air, forming a second rune circle over the first that she had placed. This one rotated in jump-and-cut way, sometimes reversing, sometimes stopping.

"Alright, this is either gonna do the time thing, or its going to create a sudden influx of radioactive tapioca in the middle of the nearest ocean. Possibly bo— wait, hold on."

She held out her hands again, and adjusted one, singular, tiny rune.

"Nevermind. Issue resolved. Should be fine, now."

"Maybe something to do with those gift baskets Rhea just mentioned? You caught that messsage, right? I wasn't hallucinating that?"

Dylan nodded.

Dylan: "Yeah, I heard that too. Didn't she also call Rey up to the roof for something? Maybe we should check up there."

"Got it." Terlette levitates a bottle of beer over to Nicole, then gets to work on her anti-potion experiment...

"Pfft."

Rey opens the door to rooftop access. "Yo. Is it, uh... time?"

"Yup. I wish you the best of luck. We'll have cake when you come back."

"Uh... thanks. Not like I'll remember you said that."

"You will." Rhea presses a hand to Rey's face, and he instantly loses consciousness.

"Can you do the power-sealing thing or is that on me?"

Solitude, Winking Skeever

Nicole accepts her beer, cracks it open, and puts her feet up on the table as she begins drinking.

Hotel Del Rey

"I believe I might be able to at full power, but right now? It would seem the burden rests on you."

She looked down a the unconscious Rey, knelt down, and had to resist the strong urge to poke him in the cheek. So very tempting.

"Pleasant journeys to you."

And with that send-off, the portal crackled, spluttered, aaaaand... kinda petered out after a second. Tiamat held up her hand to wait and nothing much happened.

"Any second now, I'm sure of it."

Still nothing.

"CONFOUNDED THING!", she yelled, dumping an alarming quantity of mana directly into the portal runes. The portal roared to life, ripping open a whole in space and time, to the time and place of Rhea's description. "... Oh. It seems I have drastically overestimated my efficiency."

"You know what, my stealth isn't great, but I'm too nosy for my own good sometimes. Wanna try to sneak a peak at the goings-on?"

??? Thranix's Mind

Thranix stood on the edge of a cliff. It felt like it could crumble and topple into the endless void at any moment. By all rights, this place should be dark. Hell, it shouldn't even really exist, but here he seemed to be. Behind him, nothing. To his sides, vast empty space. But before him, there was an icy, hateful sphere of voidborn light, leaking the most vile kind of luminescence from its photosphere into the cosm. He had stood here before — and no doubt, he would stand again.

He raised a hand to shield his eyes from the scornful rays of this hellstar, and yet the light seemed to pass right through his body, like it wasn't even there. His motion evidently attracted the attention of this object, as he soon felt it rotating in front of him. He felt fear gripping his chest, but found he could not look away — not even as a massive eye, and then a million smaller eyes, opened on the surface. Not even when those eyes became mouth filled with teeth. Not even when the star moved to devour him...

Frontier Village

Thranix awoke in a start, his scales slick with sweat. His heart thundered in his chest... but no cursed star called out to him in the night sky. No beckoning voice to make him seek death. No unquenchable bloodlust in his mind.

"Just... just a nightmare. Thank goodness..."

He returned to a resting position, and slept peacefully for the remainder of the night.

One-off scene. Wanted to do a little character update.

Rhea grumbles something angrily. She kneels down over Rey, mutters some magic words while waving her hands over him, then yeets him into the portal.

A few seconds later, she gathers up energy in her chest and unleashes a scream that cracks spacetime, then shoves her arm through the crack (which expands into a hole), seemingly fumbling around on the other side.

A few minutes later, Rey comes out of the hole wearing a backpack. "Sup."

"I don’t get why you wanted that. You don’t look like you've changed at all."

Rey gives Rhea a hurt look. "It was important to me to keep up with my real life, okay?!"

Surprisingly, now Rhea looks hurt.

"... i'm sorry."

Noire attempts to use her precision to lob off some arrows at Undyne, while Samsara goes for another series of slash in her Demon Mode. Cynthia hang back a little while Iron Man continues to gather energy.

'North of the wreck of Brinhammer

The water boils, the sky rumble, and a gigantic tail emerges out of the water, briefly waving around before promptly going back underwater.

Spear of Ruin

Grimoire weiss would fire off shots to counteract incoming magical spears, while Brother Nier moves in with some sort of greatsword, Known as Iron Will. It would be roughly the size of the Dragonslayer. He'd go in for a large overhead slash, Roaring in a way as he did.

Frontier Village

Chris would be sleeping soundly, Snoring a bit, but not too loudly.

The Velvet Room

Igor would resume speakng "For now, I have no more power to offer, outside of a contract. This contract is simply so that you can use this room, and so that we have no legal responsibility for what you decide to do with your powers, once you obtain them. Here in the velvet room, at least for now, you can make use of the facilities of your subconcious, and you can manage your demons. Just sign here." Igor would lay out a small contract for Chris, and would politely hand over a fancy blue pen. Chris would look it over, and sign. He'd move to hand the pen back, but igor would gesture to keep it. "Keep the pen as a gift. Additionally, take this key. It will be useful to return to this room whenever you are safe." Igor hands chris a blue key. "It's time for you to wake up now. If you have any questions, ask on your next return." Chris would begin to stir in reality.

Frontier village

Chris would wake up, instinctively reaching for an alarm clock, as of being the usual thing to do as of sleeping in a bed. He'd Then realize there's no alarm clock, and that the arena isn't a dream. He'd also notice a blue key and a really fancy pen on the nightstand.

Meanwhile geralt would wake up with multiple glasses with a bit of pure alcohol next to him, in a bed, with a young noppon taking a nap on his head.

Dylan cracks a wicked smile.

Dylan: " You know it."

Spear Of Ruin

Susie and Grimoire landed thri attacks, doing major damage, followed by Chrom's slash seemingly doing the fish in.

Undyne:    "This... this is not the end. It cannot be!"   

She starts glowing in the glow of a defeated puppet...

But the glow quickly turns red, a sea of glitched pixels washing over her.

When the pixels fade away, Undyne The Undying stands in their place.

UTU:    "The horror is only beginning. It only ends with your death!"   

The Spirit and Fighter have evolved! Fight Undyne The Undying possessed by Kaiser Gidorah!

Undyne summons lightning to attack everyone, also throwing out spears.

Godzilla-90 shields herself from oncoming attacks, but can't do much else.

Susie gets knocked back by the lightning.

Mothra is struck by lightning and reels back in pain, but her dust sends a number of spears back at Undyne the Undying.

The inverse is true of Roy, whose counter is activated by the lightning bolt, allowing him to completely ignore it and retaliate with an equally powerful, yet fast slash, before a spear knocks him away.

Chrom just gets riggidy rekt.

Chrom ! Gah ! says Samsara, getting struck by lightning and falling over in pain. Cynthia is also struck, along with her pegasus, and has to land in a hurry, while Noire is knocked flat on her back.

Iron Man, however, is able to channel the lightning (even if it damage the suit) and use it to throw a big blast, combined with his previous build-up, attempting to negate the spears and strike the Undying Emperor of the monsters.

This buy the sheperds some time, with Samsara getting back up and rushing to help Cynthia and her pegasus. She initially fails to lift it up but Iron Man's strength allows him to help out, even if the animal is still spooked, and Cynthia is still reeling from the lightning.

Dark energy surrounds Noire...

Spear of Calamity

Nier would look towards grimoire weiss as the clusterfuck of magic and spears approaches, noting "You know that sealed verse, you know, the one I call dark gluttony? Mind using that? Now?" Weiss would chuckle.    "I was thinking the same thing. I, Grimoire weiss, will not have my arcane potential be in the shadow of anothers! Throw all your magic at Nier and I. We shall not be struck down my a fish which hasn't realized that it's out of water!"    A dark aura/vortex would form around Nier and weiss, pulling in hostile ranged attacks going by nier and weiss, not harming nier or weiss. The effect would become more extreme as more magic is asorbed. "You might have your own willpower, But I have a sister to return to at home. And I'm not doing to leave her without a brother because of your sorry ass!"

Spear of Calamity

Undyne bats away the reflected spears with some sort of force, shrugging through Roy's counter and...

UTU:    "That blast is quite large."   

Undyne slashes through Iron Man's blast, but it reforms and still does damage.

Undyne throws spears laced with lightning like bolts, aiming at Roy, Nier, and Iron Man.

She then rushes Susie.

Susie rushes in to meet her, the duo slashing at each other mercilessly with not a scratch gained on either side.

Godzilla charges her biggest Atomic Breath yet...

Roy gets knocked back again.

Chrom grunts as he slowly pulls himself up the ground. "S... Samsara!" He plants his blade into the ground for support.

Mothra turns around with surprising speed and attempts to smack Undyne with the side of her stinger.

Iron Man tank the attack and fall over.

Alright. Electricity absorption is my best idea so far. he says, getting up.

Samsara runs up to Chrom and tries supporting him. Cynthia recovers, meanwhile, and looks worried.

Da... Chrom !

Noire get up, twirls her arrow, and...

TO THE ABYSS WITH YOU ! she yells, unleashing an arrow. It’s damage is augmented, since Vengeance, which has been triggered, deal more damage when the user is weakened.

Spear of Calamity

The incoming magical spears and lightning would be asorbed by the dark gluttony spell, as grimoire weiss speaks up.    "Blood is words, words are voice, and voice is power! Tremble before the arcane arts which have shattered empires, and make armies flee if their presence is rumored!"    The aura around nier and weiss fades, only to release itself as a massive blast of accumulated energy, heading straight for undyne.

Hotel Del Rey

"Bitchin'. Let's get into some trouble."

Omega activated his Stand, and set down his drawing book. He and Dylan proceeded to sneak up to the door to the roof with relative ease and speed. Omega just barely cracked open the door and tried to peer out from near the floor.

"Hey now, nothing wrong with that..."

Tiamat trailed off for a moment as a thought entered her head.

"By the Overgods, my worshipers have probably been having a crisis for the past few months, haven't they? This is going to be a lot easier once I'm able to recombine, I imagine — the whole space-time-portal thing, I mean. How was your trip?"

"Can you see anything, Dylan?" Omega whispered.

Undyne and Susie are both swatted by Mothra, letting Noire's arrow strike its mark.

"Hey, bitch! Watch it!"

   "Ngh! Hah! You can't cooperate with your only allies!"   

Undyne raises her main spear to block Grimoire Weiss's magic blast, sending her sliding back on her feet. She begins to light up with the glow of a Final Smash...

Godzilla spews her charged Atomic Breath.

Susie holds an axe in front of herself for protection.

Mothra shyly steps away from the fight a bit, almost apologetically.

Chrom pushes himself up onto his feet with his Falchion. His own eyes emit a striking yellow glow.

Forgotten plot point: Smash fighters innately have FS Meters.

Roy beats a hasty retreat, sheltering himself under Mothra's wings.

"Yeah, it looks like Rey just went into a portal and came out of a rift. I think he shaved, and he has a backpack now."

"Very eventful, thank you for asking!" Rey yells.

"Whoa."

"Major events include: Binge-running the entirety of World of Light in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, AP exams, watching Dragon Ball Super: Broly with a friend of my older brother, my eighteenth birthday, graduation from high school, watching Godzilla: King of the Monsters with my father and older brother, orientation at the University of Iowa, a joint graduation party for me and my brother - myself from high school, him from college - getting Super Mario Maker 2, getting a rare BIONICLE set from an Ebay auction where I was the only bidder, and having to mow the lawn on the Fourth of fucking July while my parents went to watch Spider-Man: Far From Home!" Rey lets out a loud sigh of anguish.

"Those last two were both today, by the way."

"Soooo... I take it you'll want to go back home again when that set gets there?"

"Yeah," Rey growls. "But I won't be there for so long that you'll need to seal my memories and powers first."

"I think you need to go to your room and calm down a little. You didn't need to get so mad, it was a mistake on my part to say what I said."

"Probably..."

I'm a bit sad for that moth... okay, let's go. says Samsara, drawing her twin weapon once more and activating Demon Mode. Cynthia raises her spear, meanwhile, and a golden glows run over it, signaling that Aether is ready. Iron Man get some boosters on his back, meanwhile, and Noire prepares yet another arrow.
