"Other villains have tried. Just because someone's considered a criminal mastermind doesn't mean they have common sense enough not to antagonize a God. Thank you for step-er, gliding back. Seriously, I don't even need sleep, but I've been feeling very tired after some of this news."
He raises an eyebrow, scowling.
"There's always a gray area with you, Weber. I wouldn't exactly call what you do 'behaving'..."
He facepalms, sighing.
"First thing, dude, don't call me that, especially since I'm not doing it to you. This Deity has a name, and, even though it's admittedly a pretty unoriginal mononym, it's still what you should be using. Second, seriously, there should be more voices of reason counteracting all the subterfuge and seediness that you bring to the table. I mean, you're self-admittedly evil. That's not very good grounds for moral advice. Third, if you even think of returning to your old Faustian ways once you leave, if that's what you're going to be doing, I will owe my allegiance to Rico Jr, but I will still be watching and waiting for it. My code may keep me from intervening as much as I'd like, but not all problems have to be solved physically."
He shakes his head.
"You see, that's still cruel. If they didn't do that, they'd at least have some status, but then you come down and perform your best Mephistopheles impression and make a quick buck. Or, all they have, in this case."
He raises a finger.
"I...did mention earlier that I thought the King's government was a load of crap to begin with, as there's greed and corruption down to the core there. I'm not arguing the fact that you're a conniving scourge only out to sate your appetite for chaos, which you are, but instead pointing out the innate wrongness of your entire country. Now, I-"
He freezes on mention of the Mirage twins, going dead still for a moment before he rests his head in his hands.
"Oh, you're in for it now..."
He raises his head, and gives Weber a chillingly-calm smile, showing just enough of his fangs to add to the unnerving effect without appearing as an aggressive threat, as if to gently remind Weber that he's indeed antagonizing a very powerful being. His every word is delivered with a cool and measured composure, though they also belie his intense anger.
"Certainly you know that 'those two desperate boys' were some of my first and closest true friends in the Arena, regardless of the fact we began as enemies, and my inability to do anything at the time to aid them is still something that weighs on my mind. Also, surely you know that I would never wish a contract on even the vilest of my enemies, as it robs anyone of true free will, and tethers them to a piece of demonic refuse like you. I absolutely would not tell someone I deeply cared for to go to a snake-oil salesman like you for a 'fix' that is much more trouble than it's worth. And taking advantage of any child, especially those like the Mirages who were forced into their position by a series of increasingly and tragically desperate attempts to keep themselves alive, is something I do not take lightly."
Noting Weber's threat display, Shadow's eyes respond in kind, effectively making the demonic trickster's act look like a cheap party trick by becoming dark, bottomless pools that, on closer inspection, appear to be filled with galaxies, and manifest pinpoint-pupils that blaze with a fiery crimson energy, all while he keeps the same tone and expression, spreading his wings to either side as far as the hallway will allow to add to his imposing figure.
"Oh, are we doing the spooky eyes now? Alright, two can play at that game. Anyway, you seriously done screwed up, and I'd advise you never speak of the Mirages again within at least three planes of existence from me, if you value your position. I am sure that Prince Rico wouldn't consider striking at an important ally's insecurities an acceptable tactical choice, not to mention that you have no idea what you're talking about, or who you're insulting. I am happy they didn't get the bargain, honestly, because someone would seriously have to hold me back if they did. Keep in mind that I believe we were anything but allied by that point. Now, I advise we drop the topic before I truly get angry, Warlock."
He raises an eyebrow when Weber places his hands on the heroes' heads, scowling.
"...it's a wonder they even choose to stay with you with how horribly you treat them. When does doing something like what you're doing just now not scream 'unhealthily-possessive lunatic who views his followers as little more than material assets instead of people'? Would Pseudo let you stay here if he heard all of this? I've been trying to keep my cool, and, except for my reaction to your absolutely despicable taunt over the Mirages, I think I've been doing a great job. You, on the other hand, have not once dropped your air of supposed superiority and outright malice. Who's outta' line, here?"
He gives a brief, mirthless chuckle.
"There you go with the 'Deity' crap, again. You're overstepping your boundary, bud. I'm a patient guy, but I'm still a God, so I'm not exactly someone you should be working to antagonize. You said you didn't want to start a fight, since you know how powerful I am. You're doing a terrible job of showing it. I might not be able to change their minds today, but I'm sure what they've seen here will at least give them a reason to take some time to think it over later. I believe in redemption, and I'm sure these heroes aren't bad people at heart, only a little misguided. I'm certain that, one day, they'll see that they don't have to live this way anymore."
He watches Emelyn take the contract, and notices her hesitance, however brief. He offers her a quick look of acknowledgement, and turns his gaze to William. He gives a sad smile, waving goodbye.
"See you later, Will..."
He sighs deeply as the heroes depart, resting his head in one hand, and he gives a mirthless laugh as he hears Weber's offer for peace, sneering contemptuously.
"Weber, that is the biggest understatement either of us have said in this entire conversation. Normally, I would just answer this with 'Fat chance, demon' and storm out in the direction of an exit without a second word, maybe even get in your face a bit since I'm prohibited from actually laying a finger on you, but I meant it when I said I'm feeling incredibly weary after all this bad news. I don't even think I have the presence of mind to retaliate, even if I could. I just want this discussion to be over. Like I said before, for someone who wants to make peace between us, you're ridiculously bad at pitching your offer. There's no bigger case of 'antagonizing each other needlessly' than rubbing the deaths of someone's best friends in their face. If you can shut up about stuff like that, and rethink everything you even contemplate saying around me, then I'll give this peace thing a shot. But know that I still don't condone literally anything of this caliber that you stand for. I'm only doing this for Rico Jr and our alliance, and because I don't want to stress anyone here out too badly, especially my friends, by constantly railing against your corruption. Can you do that? Please?"
Anna suddenly looks very serious.
"His name is Manfroy. He's too dangerous for you to fight right now.", she suddenly says. "I don't want you to go after him. You have to promise me that."
Jake looks just as serious, and considering that Anna let Nicole fight Medeus, it's safe to say that the both of them aren't underestimating Nicole, but still feel like it's a bad idea for her to confront this Manfroy.
Dr Wily looks amazed, then laughs.
"This ruby's power is indescribable! To think something like it exists! With it, the Chaos Emeralds, and my Double Gear system, even Sonic and Mega Man can't possible stand up to us anymore!"
He then looks at Eggman, shaking his head.
"There's no way I can just sit back now. I'll make my own blueprints, and we'll fortify it together."
Before the two of them are fully gone, William glances back at Shadow for a moment, showing a hint of a reluctant smile.
Then, he and Emelyn are gone, and Weber tilts his head at Shadow.
"I do as I'm told by Rico Jr and Pseudo. I consider that behaving. Don't you?"
He then shrugs.
"Oh, forgive me. I thought I was being respectful by adressing you by your title."
... It's entirely impossible to tell if he's being sarcastic or genuine.
"Results over reason, I'm assuming Pseudo's thought process is." , he says, smirking. He then looks intrigued.
"Oh? And how will you both owe your allegiance and yet also hinder me, the overlord's loyal minion?"
He then pauses, looking surprised, somewhat shocked at just how angry Shadow suddenly becomes.
"You... take the matter of friendship more seriously than anyone else I know." , he eventually says, for once not tauntingly.
It doesn't take him long to go back to his creepy grin.
"Are you Rico Jr's ally though?" , he suddenly asks. "You parade with his father's tail. If he were to see that, he would not be pleased in the slightest."
Then he laughs.
"Horribly? They have food, a roof, and power. What more do they need from me? Oh, Pseudo will let me stay, if only because it's convenient. Not to mention that with me and my Darklings, Rico Jr and Wallace would go too, and with them, our robot. He'd lose too much to make up for."
Then he snickers.
"Oh, my apologies. This is just how I speak. I can't help it~"
"Maybe they will. I do mean it when I say it's their choice. I don't force them to sign."
He then laughs a little again.
"So you want me to be more mindful of my words? That's an amusing thought. I've never had to do that before. Hm... I suppose, for the sake of getting rid of that which threatens the overlord, I can try, Shadow."

The Smashers all look to one another.
"We'll be discussing strategy... elsewhere."
They walk away.
"Of course. You do you, and I'll do me." Eggman's pod flies him up to the Wily Egg.
"Throw every single double you have at me and see what comes of it. Then we'll see who's laughing."
"Yyyyyeah, I think we should be going now. Thanks for the info though!" 21 hastily grabs 20 and they vanish.
"I should probably follow them. Until next time." Cooler vanishes too.
Meta-Cooler nods as they leave and I Ts back up to the Big Gete Star.
"...Really? Anna, I've tangled with all kinds of powerful threats, I doubt this Manfoy warlock's gonna be any different from them..."
Upon noticing just how serious both Anna and Jake were about the matter, though, Nicole sighs before smiling reassuringly at the former, then laying a hand on her shoulder.
"Alright... I promise not to go after him."

"It's not just Manfroy. I promise we'll explain more about this later. Right now, we should focus on the other Einherjar first.", she says, then goes back to smiling.
"Thanks. That puts me at ease. Hey, how about we go back to the store? I'm pretty sure my sis will charge my by the hour.", she jokingly says.
"Once we're back I'll be going to my forge. I'll need to make a new Ballista. It'll probably take several days.", Jake says.
Nodding to Eggman, Dr Wily then takes off too.
"Fine by me. It'll be a hella great way for us to wind down after all the craziness of today."
Nicole puts an arm around Anna, then begins walking to the shop, presumably with both her and Jake.
"Anna, if you told me we'd not only become such close friends, but that I'd be helping you solve this crazy Einherjar problem when we first met... I'd think you were even quirkier than really are! No offense, of course, your quirks are all part of your charm. And Jake... here's hoping your new ballista comes out even better than the old one."
Edited by IchigoMontoya on Nov 8th 2018 at 6:25:11 AM
Clarisse helps hold onto Anna from the other side too, and they'll all walk back together.
"Oh, you haven't seen my full quirkness yet.", she laughs.
"She's not joking.", Jake says, causing Anna to laugh even more. He then smiles.
"Thanks. I'm gonna try to make a faster model this time around, so that it can actually dodge things more reliably."
Manfroy, Travant, Arion and Altena arrive in a dimly lit throne room. Two people are at the end of said room, one sitting on the throne and one standing besides it.
"So, king Travant... I handed you your entire platoon of Dragon Knights, yet you didn't make a single casualty."
Travant looks nervous.
"Oh, no, don't get me wrong. That isn't a bad thing, it keeps some attention off of us. Yet, I must say, it's also disappointing. You've rather underperformed, especially considering the name your knights have made for themselves."
"Nevertheless, you won't be punished, because you still got me what I wanted. Besides, after the test with that non-Einherjar dragon from a few days ago, I'm feeling rather generous. The three of you may go to your quarters, I'll summon you when you're needed."
"... of course."
The three of them leave the room, both Altena and Arion worried about Travant, who, once faced away from the prince on the throne, looks more agitated than he's ever been before. He doesn't want this alliance, but he's doing it for Thracia...
Once they're gone, the prince laughs.
"Well now, Manfroy. While the shopkeeper's busy with other Einherjar, we shall resume the hunts in secret. I want to see results soon."
"Of course, your majesty. I will not disappoint you." , Manfroy says, him too leaving the room. The prince glances at the person next to him, a girl around his age.
"Everything goes splendid, wouldn't you say?"
"I suppose so."
"Yes, so do I."

NLA: Peace Again...?
"I don't like the look of that guy."
"Yeah, he gives me the creeps!"
"Don't worry. We have allies here. Plus, we have a bigger fish to worry about right now."
Defense, Amy, and Anderson run off once again, in the opposite direction of Anna's shop; their work here was done.
The T-Doll SCOUT, still alive from the earlier fight, was present the entire time, collecting data. It returns to Space Station Gravitas, for now...
That was, until, when attempting to leave, it's head was summarily ripped off.
"Hmph. That'll teach that... thing."
The entity behind the dismemberment seemed to have a gruff female voice, but was not seen... for now.

"Oh, so all this time, I've just been seeing a bit of your quirkiness? Just when I thought I had you all figured out, Anna..."
Nicole lets out a good-natured chuckle, then smiles slightly at Jake.
"Sweet. I'm looking forward to seeing this bad boy after it's all been put together."
Once the group eventually reaches the shop, she bids farewell to the red-haired merchant and her blacksmith boyfriend before heading off to get some well-needed rest after a long day.

Location: The Void
Drake sighed with relief and turned off his phone, shoving it into his side pouch.
"That was lucky..." he thought, staring out at the black nothingness that surrounded him. "I still can't believe I found a guy with void powers in a random chatbox. Or hell, that I even dropped my void sword in the first place! And after only-" He stopped himself, remembering the way The Void worked. "Right, time is meaningless here...."
Drake rested his hands on the back of his head, drawing in a deep breath and awaited his 'savior's' arrival, both relieved and excited at the proposition of a brand new world to explore.
Drake might notice a strange ripple nearby... then, a peculiar figure◊ appearing, with detached limbs and a single teal eye, staring at him in an almost ominous manner.
...Well, until he speaks up, looking around and eyeing him once more.
Right. You're that fellow from the chatroom earlier, no?
The half-dragon looked the figure that appeared before him up and down with his yellow eyes. He waved his red-scaled hand at the stranger, as a grin spread across his face.
"Indeed I am!" he replied. "The name is Drake." He held out his hand for a shake. "Would you mind sending me somewhere that isn't, well... nowhere?"
Vidhil, the humanoid replies with a small smile, accepting the handshake with a detached hand.
Then, the being nods, and he gestures, the wall of nothingness rippling for a moment, and then carefully opening up to reveal the streets of NLA.
And, here we are. I'm still open for chatting online, although I'm a bit too busy to leave this place right now.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Vidhil!"
Drake pushed off the dismembered hand to propel himself backwards towards the portal.
"Thanks for helping me out," he said. "I'll get out from under your scales now. See you around!"

Samsara walks out of her room, stretching. Her moment of calm is nearly ruined when Miriel come close to crashing into her, forcing Samsara to jump back at the last second to dodge.
Oh. Samsara. Apologies for my failure to properly notice you. says Miriel, looking down at her. The tactician just shrug and raises her hand in a V sign.
It's alright, you seems pressed. Is there something happening up there ?
Indeed, you've been sleeping for an unusually long period of time and missed an encounter with a group of Einherjar, though according to Laurent, some of those seemingly weren't products of summoning magic. Rather, they were flesh and blood conscripts.
Is that so ? I'm sorry about missing it ! I will try my best to participate in the next fight, how did this one go down ?
I used a device to survey the area and an hooded figure used a powerful spell to transport his allies into dimensions to save them, before leaving as well. This seemed to create an high amount of stress within Anna, which indicates that this event should be taken seriously.
Huh... maybe he's related to the previous fight as well... so who fought them ?
Lucina and Laurent, though Lucina was harmed in the fight. I anticipate your reaction and shall provide an explanation about
I should perhaps use a swifter vocabulary. Lucina has recovered her full functions but need to rest. Would you like to check on her ?
Of course !
Miriel and Samsara climbs up the stairs as a result.
Simon reanimates and looks at Daisy. "Thank you." He throws a bottle of Holy Water at Ninetails' feet.
Mjolnir's lightning is canceled out.
Ninetails raises up his sword, only for Oca's Thunder Beam to conduct through it, causing his body to spasm in place as if stunned while the other attacks just kinda bombard him.
Upon Okka's impact, he explodes into only two Fox Spirits: the invincible Energy Spirit and a single Sword Spirit.
The Sword Spirit lunges at Thor with a mighty downward slash and a shrill battle cry.
Edited by KiriK on Nov 9th 2018 at 12:32:16 PM
He backs away from the Energy Spirit, it being a little to close to ghosts for his comfort. He flickers through his inventory.
He yeets a Demon King Seal and a vial of Hermit Spring Water at the spirit.
« MJOLNIR ! »
Thor calls upon his hammer and attempts to wreck the sword with a mighty upwards swing !
Spiralblock Peak: Endgame?
Daisy nodded at Simon.
Lewis put a barrier of ghosts around the Energy Spirit, attempting to at least contain him.
16, on the other hand, tried to leap above Thor and grab the Sword Spirit, dunking him into the ground before grabbing and slamming it once more.
If that was successful, he would remove the rocket fists from their sockets, before firing a Hell's Flash at the downed Sword Spirit.
There's a scientist in NLA, kind of awkwardly sitting at the chairs of a café.
And now after a black portal deposited this person unceremoniously here there’s a blonde guy wearing a white suit in NLA, entering the same cafe the scientist was in and upon seeing him decided to start a conversation with him for no reason.
”Yo, is there any chair taken here? I’m just trying to be chair-ful so I won’t take anybody’s seat.
Yup, a pun from Georgios…. Because why the heck not?
He looks a little frightened when Georgios surprise him but then compose himself.
"Huh... ye-yeah." he says. "Don't surprise me like that though, I nearly had a heart attack."
Georgios’ left eyebrow just went a bit up due to simple fact that this scientist was surprised by a person who came in the normal, door-ish way that anybody could notice, but nonetheless that eyebrow went down as he sit down near the scientist in question
”Thank for telling me that Heart Attack Chairer person.” He says to the scientist near him and had no idea what his name was at all. ”So to get this out of the way first because manners and whatnot, my name is Georgios or Geo for short and it’s nice to meet you in this fine day.
"I'm Bruce Banner and I... disagree a little about this fine day. Everyone's gone." he says, a bit panicked. "Just what is this place anyway ?"
