Gonna revive my character from the last run if that's cool!
- Name: Tsukika Tamae (insists on being called Ta-chan)
- Age: 18
- Gender: Female
- Race: Harionago (Barbed woman
)
- Appearance: Adorable
- Personality: Warm and kind, Tamae is often overly affectionate to those around her, loving to give out glomps and such. She enjoys classical music and will debate with anyone who thinks that the newer schools of music are better.
- Bio: A foreign exchange student, she has come on the ride to share in the fun with her friends.
- Powers/Skills:
- Prehensile and Extendable Hair: Her hair is quite strong and in fact she uses it for most of her needs to pick up and manipulate objects, with the exception of things that would dirty her locks.
- Violinist: Is quite proud of her skill and has several songs by heart. She's also good at picking up notes and chords by ear, and can compose a classical cover of a song of another genre after only a couple repetitions.
- Can perform card tricks and other sleight of hand rather well, if mostly because of her long sleeves.
- Capable of driving, but not officially licensed.
- Luggage:
- Two travel packs, one of normal toiletries, the other entirely hair care supplies
- Her violin in its case
- A backpack of assorted literature
- Other: Caries a well-used hairbrush up one of her overly long sleeves to take care of her hair. Hates wearing shoes and would prefer to go out with only her stockings around her feet if at all possible

/人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\ Will you make a contract with me?- Name: Marvin Lancaster
- Age: 20 (just barely not legal for alcohol)
- Gender: Male
- Race: Skinwalker
- Appearance: This general look.
◊ No dog, knife, or tattoos.
- Personality: Bored, and perfectly willing to do things on a whim (it's why he's on this trip in the first place), Marvin is your prototypical college student - barely getting by on classes, and spending most of his time goofing off and generally partying it up. He tends to be laid back and determinedly unserious about just about anything not related to his shapeshifter heritage, whereupon he gets incredibly defensive.
- Bio: Born technically from the lineage of ancient shapeshifters, and thereby inheriting the skill as a matter of blood. Of course, thanks to various intermarriage, he doesn't actually count as being a member of the clan except for having just enough of the blood to retain the shapeshifting. He learned the skills for the sake of not having [1], but otherwise did his best to pretend that he didn't have them, and was just an ordinary person.
- Powers/Skills: Shapeshifting via "wearing" animal pelts. He only has squirrel, cat, and chihuahua pelts, but can theoretically use any pelt so long as it's genuine. While an animal, he can do just about anything that the animal could theoretically do, including talk to others of the animal's kind (that being said, they only have animal intelligence, so it's not the most useful thing in the world) but his eyes glow noticeably, so it's hard to pass as an ordinary animal. He can also tell if an animal pelt is genuine or not at a glance, and happens to be pretty good with animals in general.
- Luggage: Two suitcases - one with clothes and toiletries, and the other with his collected pelts, other odds and ends, and room for things he collects.
- Other: Cannot stand to be near dead things. Allergic to shellfish. Studying parapsychology in college.
Damn, this is interesting. I'm definitely interested but since this RP only accepts 12 characters, is it possible to reserve a spot or is it 'first come, first serve' basis?
http://www.last.fm/user/sgtpendulum Yo, check out what I'm listening, it'll be heat, brah :^)- Name: Rachel Christie McWell
- Age: 57 which is totally like 22 among vampires, guys. Calling her old runs the risk of getting bitten.
- Gender: Female, obviously.
- Race: Vampire.
- Appearance: Long, silky black hair, really pale complexion, red colored eyes and long fangs, those are the basics. Thin build, 1, 65 meters of height, pretty face. Wardrobe highly depends on her mood and her baggage requires all of her enhanced strength and organizational skills not to explode open. Handling it wrong can get someone killed as it simply explodes clothes out. Still, during the day she tends to dress up in many layers and showing as little skin as possible, while during the night it's all a mix of comfort and showing off.
- Personality: Rachel would be considered highly bipolar or like two totally different personalities if you don't know where her mood swings come from. Which is, during the day she's very low energy, deliberate and sedate, which sometimes comes with a light sarcastic streak and general dour disposition while at night it's completely the opposite. Bright, energetic, full of laughter and with an attitude that never wants the party to stop, Rachel is the bane of those who want a quiet evening and a prompt sleep. She's more than a little vain and places a big emphasis on appearing like a noble while being deathly embarrassed of her past as a 'commoner'. A bit of a show off but at heart, she's a good girl. She's also afraid of seeming not cool as her actual youth was a couple of decades behind of that of modern youth, so she can get very embarrassed if someone teases her about liking something way out of fashion.
- Bio: Born of a really poor, hard working family Rachel enjoyed a childhood of simple pleasures, running around in her neighborhood and parks and simply enjoying life to the fullest, with big dreams and little to not responsibilities. However, that changed when her dad's boss took a interest in him due to his keen business mind and hard working nature and then turned him into a vampire like him, to secure their new bond and make sure he got a lot of years to keep being productive. Rachel's father by extension, turned his whole family. Thus began Rachel's life as a New Rich, New 'Undead', New Noble Poser. She got all the toys and pretty things she always dreamed of while at the same time losing a lot of her freedom in exchange as she was placed in a prestigious school and needed to catch up a lot on what being a proper vampire is all about. All in all exhausting, however, she has taken to the lifestyle. She kept a circle of friends outside of her new life however and was more delighted at the idea of the road trip than she let on about. Anyway, she's willing to grace the commoners with her dazzling presence as she goes on this trip.
- Powers/skills:
- Can't drive: Would love to drive but never learned how as she was too young to learn before she turned into a vampire and daddy got her a chauffeur after they became rich. Being embarrassed of not being able to before her friends impedes her from trying to.
- Drink blood: Needs to drink blood once a day or else she goes really sour. Has on her baggage a week's worth of O- blood in vampire friendly juice boxes.
- I Am The Night: Can turn into or attract creatures of the night. For example wolves, cats, bats and owls.
- Enhanced Physical Abilities: At night this is the standard, during the day she can use the power however it drains her of strength quite quickly, nearly making her fall asleep.
- Vampiric Charm: Pretty eyes, pretty face, a nice voice and the right intonation makes all the difference. Vampires are naturally charming and Rachel is good at getting her way when she needs to. She's quite persuasive when she attempt to be, though it works better with people that don't know firsthand how she really is.
- Miscellaneous: Knows a lot about current fashion, can play the piano or keyboard decently as well as being an avid dancer.
- Luggage:
- Baggage of Bursting: A very dangerous item, while seemingly nothing more than a normal, pink and black baggage only fell rituals must keep this thing from exploding. Crammed to the very brim with the baggage of a pretentious new rich vampire girl, the thing visibly vibrates and strains to hold the cargo within. How Rachel opens it and closes it and more importantly, retrieves anything from within is a mystery... only moreso, how even after bursting, all it takes is set the zipper right once again and that's all it takes to fix it. Clothes, a laptop, makeup, sewing kit, first aid kit, teddy bear, books, a Wii U, toy duck, shampoo, conditioner, nails kit, umbrella, hair dryer, curling iron, ironing board... anything the GM decrees can be found within.
- Essentials: Has a top of the line cellphone plus a daddy given credit card for emergencies, oh and a 3DS equivalent as well.

Aaaah... Gosh darn it... I want to give this one another try, since the last one ended before it got a chance to even start.
Right now, I'm way more stable and "clear minded" than during the original run, (in other words, I'm finally getting pharmacological treatment for my clinical depression) but I've also got slightly less time. Nonetheless, I'd try my best to keep up the pace in order to not fall behind and keep the story flowing.
With that said, I'd like to use my original character once again... She's the same she was during the original run, except with a little "upgrade": Now she can recharge devices like cellphones, cameras, computers, power-tools, etc., so the "Plug-n'-Play" moniker applies even more now.
- Name: Alice Asimov (real name unknown, but this is the one given to her by her "grandpa")
- Age: Unknown. Appearance-wise, she looks roughly 18 - 20 years old.
- Gender: Female.
- Race: Ridiculously Human Robot
- Appearance: She looks almost like a perfectly ordinary human girl of petite complexion, with the only evident sign of her robotic nature being sporadic flashes of light on her green eyes. She keeps her long brunette hair in a braid, and has a rather cute and innocent looking face.
Fashion-wise, she doesn't seem to have a particular preference, and she's always willing to try new styles, with the only constant being a pair Purely Aesthetic Glasses that she wears because they were a gift of the old inventor that found her and repaired her. That said, don't bother trying to force her to wear shoes nor other footwear, because she's bound to just discard them a few moments later. - Personality: Despite being socially challenged because of her robotic nature, Alice is a genuinely gentle and sweet girl who likes to help other people whenever she can. She's also really curious about the world and people around her, and she wishes to learn more about them.
- Bio: An amnesiac android salvaged by an old inventor. The only thing she remembers is that she was supposed to go somewhere. Since she has no clue of where to start, the road trip seems like a good starting point to her personal quest.
- Powers/skills:
- Super-Strength: She can easily bend steel, lift cars and punch holes through walls... Though, she usually prefers to use her fortitude with entirely pacifistic and constructive purposes.
- Made of Ironnote : Highly resistant to damage. And even when she's damaged, her self-repair system allows her to recover from almost any accident; even her artificial skin repairs itself over time.
- Fast Learner: A downplayed version of Instant Expert. Her Photographic Memory and robotic aptitudes allow her to learn new things faster than normal humans, but she still needs to practice them several times before doing them right, as her first attempts will always be rather clumsy... Or outright disastrous at times.
- Universal Charger: She can recharge a whole lot of appliances and electronic devices via a series of ports located in her arms and legs.
- Luggage: A medium sized suitcase containing some spare clothes, an umbrella, and some minor personal effects, like a photo of hers along with "grandpa".
- Other:
- Despite her abilities being well suited for combat, she's an Actual Pacifist who doesn't like hurting other people... But if someone would dare to damage an innocent or one of her friends... Let us say she won't kill them, but they might wish she did.
- She can feel emotions, but her Machine Monotone, strange speech patterns and general awkwardness makes it difficult for her to convey them properly. Sometimes she will state her current mood out-loud in order to try to alleviate this issue.
- She has a certain degree of "Literal Mindedness", so speaking around her in metaphors or figures-of-speech may lead to misunderstandings and miscellaneous shenanigans.
- She Does Not Like Shoes. Since she's a robot, it's not like she needs them anyway... Besides, having her feet unrestrained allows her to use them almost like a second pair of hands.
- She likes animals and plants, and seems to be rather good when it comes to dealing with them. Back at the old inventor's house, she used to take care of the garden all the time.
- Unfortunately, since her memory and neural-interface aren't completely repaired, she's prone to "glitching-out" from time to time. Symptoms include shutting herself down at inopportune moments, getting caught in speech loops, inability to control her movements, and speaking in Spanish at random intervals, among other glitches.

"Why does everything have to loop back to YGO?" -Guy who ruined YGO- Name: Alexi Stavros
- Age: 19
- Gender: female
- Race: mermaid
- Appearance: She has a long flowing bleached blonde hair that goes down to her waist with the left part shaven, she has blue eyes guarded behind her thick pair of hipster glasses, and she is 6 foot tall. While all of her skin are scaly the lower half is thicker with scales than the top. Her bottom is blue greenish, the top is pale white. She's a bit plump.
- Personality: She's trying her very best to break out of her shrinking violet personality and be more outgoing. Which, of course, would lead her to be kinda awkward in most of her social interaction. But that doesn't discourage her to try. When she sings, though, she will become a very different person, consumed by her own emotion.
- Bio: Alexis was a very introverted music nerd ever since young, her music taste varies widely, excluding pop, classical and jazz, she tends to favor the more hardcore, intense sounding genre like hardcore punk and experimental hip hop. However, she has became somewhat of a snob to her classmates, declaring them as plebeian sheeps who only listens to crappy pop music. It was only till the last semester of high school that she realised how huge of a prick she is by seeing how little friends that cared for her, and the few that do she suspect that it might be out of pity. After graduation, she would swore that she would clean up her attitude, make new friends at college and create sweet memories with them and she see that this road trip would be that perfect opportunity. Besides, Alexi figured that this road trip would be a good source of inspiration for her songs. she had been hoping to create enough content for a mixtape.
- Powers/Skills:
- Siren training: One of the things she learned from her magic music theory course is the 'Sirening', that is giving out an aura of mood, depending on the song and the singer's intention. So far, Alexis had managed to do paranoia, sadness, anger and disgust. Also, for some reason she prefers to do it shirtless. Don't worry, she always remember to wear a bra.
- Basic transformation: From mer to man and vice versa, like every mermaid, she needs to commute between land and sea and this spell will give them great ease, though the merfolks need a bit of training to get used to walking. Alexi herself was still uncomfortable with walking but she figure that she can handle. Her legs are still the same colour as her fins.
- Instruments: She can play guitar and bass, but she can only play power chords and those really simple but hardcore punk songs. She also played around with hip-hop producing on her laptop but so far nothing that she wants to show off to her friends.
- Luggage: 2 luggages. One big one is a walking luggage full of clothes centered around comfy-core, like sweaters, casual skirts and sneakers. The other relatively small sling bag containing her laptop, phone and her headphone.
By the way, should we get a discussion page for world building or do we just stick to this thread?

http://www.last.fm/user/sgtpendulum Yo, check out what I'm listening, it'll be heat, brah :^)Hmm, a discussion thread wouldn't go amiss, no. One of the issues with the prior attempt is we didn't really plan out our first location. Get that done ahead of time! Also, establish character relationships, entrench connections between each other, to make it more difficult to mutually reject you. Yes, yes. Plot and scheme together, and backstab those you don't like, yess....
The discussion page has been made.

So here's a Driver.
- Name: Damien Fortus
- Age: 24
- Gender: Male
- Race: Demigod (1/4 god, 3/4 human)
- Appearance: A 6'5'' (195.5 cm) muscular man with short curly brown hair, green eyes, clean shaven face, and a nice all-over tan. He wears whatever he finds comfortable, usually jeans and a t-shirt.
- Personality: Naturally witty, Damien likes cracking jokes and seeing people smile, as well as helping others. He's open about his natural fortune, but is quick to put himself down for 'just being lucky.'
- Bio: The grandson of a local goddess of fortune, Damien grew up naturally strong, fast, and lucky, and prided himself on that. But due to that pride he didn't have many friends. When he was 16 he learned what his favorite grandma really was, and where his physique and luck came from. His parents told him they didn't want him to think he was 'better' than others for being a demigod. He's been estranged from them since then. He went to college to prove he didn't need to rely on luck, making new friends in the process. Damien thought a road trip would be the perfect bonding experience with his newfound friends, ensuring he wouldn't lose any of them.
- Powers/Skills:
- Divine Constitution: Damien is incredibly physically fit, comparable to Olympian athletes, and supernaturally tough. He's resistant to the effects of drugs, toxins, and alcohol, and never seems to put on or lose weight.
- Get Lucky: The innate power he inherited from his grandmother. He has natural good luck, and can bestow good luck on others for a few minutes by focusing. Simple things like coin flips and dice rolls always end up in his favor, but more anything more complex than that isn't a given, merely slightly less likely to go badly.
- Driving: Actually has a license and is a pretty safe driver.
- Luggage: One suitcase for clothes and other necessities is all he needs. He also carries a foldable pocketknife.

What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget? Here's the character sheet, sorry for double posting:
Name: Takehaya Hayate (Surname-Name format)
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Race: Tengu (Nature guardian)
Appearance This, but with black hair.
◊
Personality: Hayate is cheerful and curious in nature. He also has ADD, meaning that his attention tends to suddenly switch focus occasionally, but he can be serious when needed. Also has a dislike for the unnecessary destruction of nature and life (such as hunting for sport).
Bio: Hayate has trained in his role as a nature guardian for much of his youth. He has travelled overseas as an exchange student to continue his training and academics.
Powers/Skills:
Nature magic: As a nature guardian, Hayate has some control over nature, which he performs using his flute as a medium. Presently, he is most proficient at air magic and the art of healing, though he is also able to accelerate the growth of flora and summon rainstorms.
Tengu Physiology: As a Tengu, he is able to fly, and has the eyesight of a falcon. Hayate can also appear as a human to hide his supernatural features.
Survivalist knowledge: Hayate is able to identify edible flora and fauna in the wilderness. He also has some skill in fishing and grilling food.
Flute Hayate most commonly uses his flute as a medium, casting magic by playing notes through it. Because of this, he is interested in learning how to play the flute for non-magical purposes as well.
Luggage: A rucksack containing a few sets of clothes, his flute, a traditional Tengu Mask, and some notebooks containing sketches and notes of anything he finds interesting.
Other:
- Hayate has a love for grilled food and folk music.
- Although Hayate is naturally inclined towards martial arts, he lacks training and combat experience, which makes him an average fighter in most situations.

Oh, it's back again? -Prods- Aright, lemme whip something up...
On empty crossroads, seek the eclipse -- for when Sol and Lua align, the lost shall find their way home.@ whizzerd: Sure, just make sure you're able to fit in the car!
@ kagescorpionakki: Alright, adding clause to races. No gods or demigods.
Just seems a bit... I dunno, "high up." Like, I think my minor rant of princes of hell and arbiter of angels extends to that too. Also, we're not on Earth but an Earth analogue, so whatever gods or goddesses exist in this universe, it wouldn't be the Greek gods precisely but some equivalent anyway.
I will begin reviewing characters fully once we have enough to fill all the slots. In the meantime, please use the discussion thread
to help world build and establish character relationships between one another. It'll also help show me that you're serious about contributing to the RP, and make you more likely to be chosen for the limited slots.
I could understand not being an actual god. But you didn't say 'no angels at all', you said 'no high arbiter/prince of hell'. If we could play as lesser angels, I fail to see how a demigod would be particularly different. I can just say his grandmother is a generic luck goddess, or whatever, to fit in with your fantasy world.
And a lot of mythical creatures are said to be descended from gods. Tengu are Shinto spirits, for example. If you ban all demigods, then logically you should also ban everything else that's even the slightest fraction divine.
Sorry if I sound like I'm ranting, but I honestly think you're being unfair. It's your choice all the same though.
What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?I just went for the exaggerated example. Last attempt at this, we had several thousand year old succubus who was the granddaughter of the ruler of hell and had her own personal summon-slaves, which I'm personally looking to avoid in this iteration. I was probably unfair in regards to a blanket ban on such things, yes; please forgive me for jumping the gun. That being said, I hope you can understand my concern that someone with such a direct line to living divinity kind of puts you "above" other players in a certain way.
Hmm... I think if you change it from a sort of The Goddess to a local goddess, like how, if I recall right, there are all sorts of minor local deities in Shinto religion, it could work. It's not that I dislike the character - I think we'd have all sorts of fun coming with him to not-Vegas and getting our asses kicked out of every casino for cheating - it's more that seeing the word "god" or "demigod" kind of triggers warning flags for me.

Main Thread
Discussion Thread
Thrym. A world much like ours. It has technologies, cultures, conflicts much like our own, a planet crawling with all sorts of everyday, ordinary events, with one key difference - countless mythological and fantasy races living side by side with one another, all mingling in this strange new world together.
Lendel, aka "tossed salad country." Nearly every culture, every race, every climate even, every little thing you could find out there in the wild world of ours, you can find here. Gets a little crazy, what with all the different kinds of people here, but somehow it manages to keep itself together and is all around pretty peaceful, barring a few little troubles here and there that every place has.
Averyville. A little town like any other. The sort of place where you might not know everyone in town, but you'll always know someone who knows someone else. About an hour's drive from the beach, Averyville has nothing special, one of its few landmarks being its humble college, and even then there are more impressive institutions a few towns over. But hey, it's a good old humble home, and that ain't nothing to complain about.
The flowers of spring are still fragrant, but classes are out for the summer. The start of those summer days, the perfect time to start the best trip of our lives...
Hello and happy summers, people! And what better way to kick off our coming summers than with a little road trip? A fantasy road trip RP is one I've been wanting to participate in for a while, but since I haven't had any takers on people wanting to GM it, I decided to take up the mantle and do it myself.
Now then, the goal of this RP is a lighthearted romp of a group of friends through a wild country of all sorts of eclectic landmarks, with maybe a light touch of character drama so we can get some good old character development and deepening of relationships going. This is not, I repeat, NOT a combat oriented RP, or one where brooding is the name of the game, so please, keep that in mind when making your characters.
Speaking of, with regards to characters, feel free to go nuts with the races. We're a fantasy setting, so go crazy with them! That being said, don't try to be too special snowflake with your people - high arbiter of angels or great princes of one of the nine hells are both big nos.
Now then, some ground rules! (Shout-Out to desdendelle for writing most of these in our first run of this RP.)
The sign-up sheet:
And that's it! Oh, because this supposed to be basically a group of friends who know each other, it shouldn't be too large - I think the basic limit is "they can fit into two separate vans." Or maybe one van and a smaller, more compact car. With that said, I'm going to cap the player sign ups to 12 characters only.
Two more final notes...
Now then, I think that's everything. Have a good summer and safe travels, everyone!
