My luck has always been odd and streaky. Like I said, when it comes to Ayamur, I'm in clover (and that's from when I was trying to farm up the shard that boosts underwater movement, not specifically farming for stuff that breaks down into gold). Of all things, I also have to farm monster blood, emeralds, and toad eyes. On the other hand, I've had tremendous luck getting my hands on diamonds, the aforementioned Ayamurs, and pretty much every single spear-related drop you can find in the game (Enhance Spear? Partisan? Arheadbar? Yup, loaded). In fact, I've mostly been relying on spears because that's what the game is throwing at me.

Yahtzee's review of Bloodstained (not sure if it was posted earlier here):
He likes the game. He doesn't think it's perfect — he's not a huge fan of Miriam's character design for one thing — but overall he thinks the game is a good distillation of everything great in previous Igavania games.
Most of his ire seems to be about how this game's success will breathe new life into the trend of nostalgia-fueled Kickstarter games that he doesn't think is good for the future of videogames. I think it's tongue-in-cheek, but I can't be sure with this guy.
Disgusted, but not surprisedHe's claiming (not entirely seriously...I think) was that the "big" nostalgia fueled ones like Mighty No. 9 and Yooka Laylee were crap, and another big failure might have put the whole trend to rest. But nooo, Bloodstained had to be a good game! How dare Igarashi run a decent campaign and put out good product! The nerve!
Disgusted, but not surprisedHis argument is that Bloodstained may have breathed new life into it. He's also arguing that this is a bad thing. YMMV on that, of course.
Let's not forget — it's Yahtzee. The man is probably contractually obligated to find something to complain about.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI didn't say it was a bad review. I was just making an example.
Anyway, onto a new line of questioning! Do you think Zangetsu was really taken out by Gremory? Honestly, I think not. Someone as powerful as him wouldn't be defeated that easily. Considering the fact that Gremory got away, and the laughable way that Zangetsu was "killed", I smell sequel potential. Bet you guys/gals 5 bucks that Miriam will have to rescue him in some fashion.
A hero is made when you make a choice.Curse of the Moon was originally going to be prequel, but part way through they realized it wasn't going to work out. Like, in Moon, all the protagonists meet, but in Ritual of the Night Zangestsu has not yet met Miriam. Also, in the first ending in Moon, Zangetsu gets possessed by demons. If you play the game again and beat evil Zangetsu then he wakes up centuries in the future. So there is no way Moon is a prequel to Ritual. They are each their own continuity.
True. I meant more in a broad strokes kind of way. Ritual makes sense out of stuff in Curse. Like that it establishes that Gremory can possess people, and whoever's possessed becomes lord of the castle. Gebel's status as an ally also makes sense since he's not actively being controlled. He's a Shardbinder ally like Miriam.
Considering I didn't play Curse, (the newer one, not the one for GBA. I played the crap out of that one.) I hadn't considered the content in that game. Still, if that game is in it's own timeline, then I still think my therory holds at least some weight and consideration.
And that's how I get the therorist part of my title.
I think Zangetsu doesn't just go into the future, he goes into the Azure Striker Gunvolt universe. The giant building in the background looks a lot like the Sumeragi HQ from the first Gunvolt game, iirc.

aight, finised getting the entire item list to 100%, maxed out every passive shard in both rank and level, and got to level 99 while I was at it.
Jesus christ the final boss gets trounced in a few strikes of the forward-backwards-forward-attack of the katana. this shit hits for like a thousand damage per hit.
I thought Johnathan in portait of ruin and soma in aria of sorrw became quite the powerhouse towards the end of the game, but that shit's on another level. infinite magic, inducing infinite free healing, literally ZA WARUDO,the best and coolest acceleration spell we've ever got because of how it synergises with the high jump, ludicrous attack speed... You can see why that girl was literally as strong as the entire shardbinder army that caused the apocalypse.
"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."Finally got the Warhorse key and went to fight the Revenant... oh man, a traditional Castlevania style protagonist, with all the attendant drawbacks, just doesn't stand a chance against Miriam. I nearly had a perfect run on the first fight against him going in blind (I probably would have if I had anticipated him behaving smart and jumping to let his Ruinous Rood fly behind him). I can only imagine how easy it would have been if I had done Invert cheese or wasn't so lazy about using Directed Shield.
I probably should just get off my ass and fight the final bosses now (seeing as my map completion is over 99%, I have to figure they're down that corridor I haven't explored), but eh, I kinda want to grind out at least the end of the cooking sidequest.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Apparently, there's an Easter Egg in the ending that reveals Zangetsu is still alive, though it's only viewable if you set your display to 21:9.
That's way cooler than the goofy Easter Egg that I found (namely, that Miriam's appearance on the status screen matches how she appears in-game - so if you pause the game right as Miriam leaves the 8-Bit Nightmare, you get a very pixelated version of her on the title screen).
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Yeah, the game can be kind of annoying like that.
To get to the other endings, you need to explore the rest of the Cathedral by accessing the higher parts of it with Reflector Ray. Then beat the boss of the area, Bloodless. Then use Blood Steal to drain the blood fountain and go down to the lower area. Then kill the jellyfish until they drop the shard you need to explore underwater. Then progress through the water areas. From there you should be able to figure out what to do next.
Disgusted, but not surprised

I had barely any trouble getting those swords when I actually bothered to farm them. Heck, I even sold a few of the extra ones before realizing I needed 4 to make the upgrade.
