Anime only so I am only guessing, but my theory is Hermes wants them to fake their deaths so that adventures wont continue to search for them, and didn't think the others would agree so didn't tell them.
As for the episode itself, it was good but Wiene tearing off her claws made me shudder as it was an unpleasant reminder of the time I ripped off a toenail when I accidently kicked a wall.
after seeing the final episode of Danmachi season 3:
holy shit, this season of Danmachi has been great, i can see why LN readers love it so. season 2 was decent and would be better if it weren't rushed, but this season blows it out of the water
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic Socialist
As I've mentioned previously, this season has the advantage of adapting three volumes that form a single, cohesive arc in the novels and rather than having to do sort of beats matching the end of each volume they could pass the arc a little more organically within the epsiode limit.
Next arc in the novels isn't quite as tightly knitted together but they sort of flow into each other.
Also this wasn't made clear in the anime but made explicit in the novels. With that fight Bell just dinged Level 4 and gained a special skill. Ox Slayer. It boots his stats when fighting a bovine type monsters. And yes that does include minotaurs.
Regarding this entry from the series' YMMV page:
- Fandom Rivalry: As of the third season, with Warhammer 40,000 fanbase, due to how the third season has Bell going full on xenos symphatizer... and won almost singlehandedly, despite objections by other in-universe characters as well as some of the Danmachi fanbase itself.
...Seriously? Is this for real? It sounds like somebody writing an entry just to voice their complaints.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut. That sounds like it should be removed, but I know YMMV pages are slightly different so I'm not sure if it hits the threshold for removal.
I finished catching up with the light novels a couple of weeks ago, and I meant to write a short post about my thoughts but it slipped my mind.
I enjoyed catching up a lot. I initially started reading them at the start of 2020, but once I hit the point the anime ended at I ran out of steam. Right when S3 came out I read a few to catch up to the content covered, but once I got back into reading them a month ago I demolished the rest.
I was doing it in publication order, and I think the last run of the both Oratoria and Dan Machi was really strong.
The focus in Oratoria on the other Loki members was a lot of fun to read. I particularly enjoyed Bete's story. And the Volume 12 makes me sad the lackluster Oratoria anime means its adaption chances are probably pretty low.
Plus the most recent volumes of Dan Machi with the dungeon delving focus were a blast to read about.
Because publication order often meant Dan Machi > Oratoria > Dan Machi, I found myself looking forward to getting to the next one with each novel. But not in a way that hurt my excitement to read on, which kind of happened when I lost steam last year.
I also really enjoyed the Freya novel. The backstories were really good to read before going into Oratoria 12 to give context to character appearing. And from what I've heard it'll also help for the next couple of main series novels. It's also nice as neither Loki or Hestia Familia members we can see them act more immorally.
Although I did think it was pretty gross that while checking something related to the novel online I found several people commenting on how they don't want Bell to get with Freya anymore because she's "defiled".
Kind of related to that, but I thought the harem elements have gotten kind of annoying honestly. In that a few of the people in love with Bell now just feel extraneous and not needed for the plot. Namely Lili, Ryuu, Cassandra & Eina. But I guess that's an unavoidable part of it being a light novel.
DanMachi is getting a fourth season!
As I've commented previously, the next three novels aren't as tightly linked as the Xenos arc for season 3 but they do sort of follow on immediately on from and build off each other so we should still get something close to 3's pacing rather than the somewhat uneven pacing of the first two seasons.
S4E2: Nice to have a, err, more wholesome dungeon-diving adventure to balance out Made In Abyss.
Loving the look of the Great Falls. Would have been nice to slowly map the place out but Bell just has a penchant for attracting enhanced monsters. The fight scene was fantastically animated (the goopy moss monster had a cool way of contorting its body) and I can actually see this season hitting the highs of the minotaur fights, which has got me excited.
Also how did Chigusa even get hit, seriously. That was a massive shield she was hiding behind.

S4E3: I am not used to DanMachi being this good.
The enhanced moss monster is the most terrifying opponent Bell has faced so far, because it’s not only strong, it’s also cunning. It knows how to hunt adventurers, it knows how to set traps, it’s intelligent and that’s what makes it so deadly. Bell is going to hit Level 5 taking this thing down. Once he finds the monster again, anyway. For now he’s had to parry a flock of bullet-like kamikaze birds. And meets a mermaid because Bell is a chick magnet. Mermaids should be monsters, right? Or is this one cutie supposed to be a Xenos?
Also loved the character development for Bell and Lily. Bell taking command like a proper leader is awesome, and the strategy Lily devised for taking down the Moss Huge, requesting backup and protecting the injured was sound.
Yes, the mermaid is a Xenos. She's not with the others because she's more or less restricted to the Water Palace since she can't go out of water for extended periods
But yes, the jump in animation quality is awesome and I definitely hope if keeps up for the rest of the season since it's going to make what's coming up awesome.
S4E4: Bell did it boys, he finally picked up a girl in the dungeon! Like, literally picking the mermaid up. Kinda funny Bell is still so flustered with Marie when he’s getting smothered by girls all the time. Apparently Marie has an impressive bust.
While Bell was busy being a harem MC, his party has to fend off the Moss Huge which traps them in a pass parade and monster party. It gets to weaken the adventurers, scout out their abilities and secure itself a free feast of monster crystals Holy. Crap. It’s nice to see Lili, Welf, Mikoto and the rest show what they’ve got. As Aisha says, they can actually hold their own even without Bell. Haruhime seems to be bringing out her level-up spell too, and I’m excited for the crab buffet.
Not sure why Susanoo was embarrassed about the name of Mikoto’s technique; Zekka is really cool.

Takemikazuchi
, not Susanoo. While there is a degree of storm/lightning imagery, he's associated with war, martial arts and sumo wrestling.
It's the martial arts connection that Danmachi chooses to focus on for the most part.
Mikoto named Zekka (絶華) after the alias the gods gave her, Absolute✝Shadow (絶✝影). Takemikazuchi finds it embarrassing because it's a super cringey name they gave her just to make fun of him, as you can tell by the cross that's in there just because.

season 3 episode 11:
Ais had some amazing fight scenes
did not expect that Wiene tearing her own claws and wing to show that she's not dangerous
