Long Light Novel Titles are Long.

Also known as Is it wrong to try to pick up girls in a dungeon?

Anime seems nice so far, though is it just me or They failed to mention in any way or form what is the utility of a Supporter in the episode? By appearances all they did was pick up the stones on the floor so the Adventurer doesn't have to crouch down? By the title I can imagine such a type of character doing other stuff like healing, carrying equipment, potions, buffs and the like but they didn't say so, I think?

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.

The HUGE backpack supporters carry around reminded me too much of Nodwick. Except with less dying.

Man, Not-Kirito/Bell is sure attracting ladies faster than Hestia has feared! At least he upgraded his equipment.

The corpses don't always explode into dust immediately (unless the magic stone is shattered I think). Supporters usually pull the carcasses aside and carve out the magic stone and any items in there. Or just loot any of it if they drop on the floor. Basically the adventurers can just focus on killing stuff instead of looting.

Hmm, I was under the impression that the "date" at the start was supposed to be, I dunno, longer.

That said, this feels like a side chapter pasted on the main plot of a whole volume.

As someone who is reading the official novel translations I can tell you that the date and scenes related to it aw from an interlude while everything else is part of the main story of volume two.

I'm glad I'm not hte only one who felt the pacing took a dip.

Anyone read the manga and want to tell me how that is? I dropped the anime after episode one because I felt it was a poor adaptation of the novel.

[up] I haven't read the LN, so I don't know how the manga stacks up, but pacing-wise the manga seems fine to me.

I personally don't know too much about Dan Machi, just watched half of Ep 1—but I'd feel like to ask something very meta.

Any viewer will notice this universe is basically a J-MMORPG, so... what do the gods equate to?

Watched the first 3 episodes.

Thank God I watched Sword Art Online anime (read light novel). If I kept hearing Kirito's voice, I might have punched someone.

Also, I always imagined Hestia as housewife-type lady. An tight fitting clothes wearing oppai loli...eh, I can deal with it, I guess. Man, Hestia's acting a lot like a jealous wife...wait...

And lastly, yeah, I don't have much trouble with pacing because I'm seeing this more as a slice of life anime, but there's really a lot of going on in each episode.

Still rushing, but not as much as before. Still, it's fairly obvious; quite a few scenes would've had more impact if they were dragged out a few seconds.

I'm not quite sure about some parts. So, Liliruka's used by Soma's familia to swindle other adventurers, or she's a Soma supporter that steals stuff from her fellows on the side?

[up] I don't think she steals stuff from them, but she does swipe stuff from people outside the familia to gather enough money to meet with Soma and get out of the familia. The people in her familia extort stuff from her to meet their own quotas so they can get a sip of wine.

Maybe it's out of censorship reasons, but I'm surprised that Lili isn't a wine addict herself.

By the way, Yen Press seems to translate "Familia" as "Famiglia," but I think we should still use the former spelling. Looks like the full title for the anime is Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka? Familia Myth.

I have heard some rumours about YP's being Totally Radical on their translation, but I'm wondering why they call Soma's brew "ale"...

[up] She never gets enough money to meet her quota because the other people in her familia keep extorting money from her.

If I'm not mistaken, it goes something like you need to meet your quota to actually meet Soma. Most people want to meet him just to drink his wine, but Lili needs to meet with him to get his approval to leave the familia.

Huh? My copies of the light novel leave Familia as...Familia. Same with Soma being referred to as wine.

Well, I saw those on Yen's blurb online for Vol 2:

“Nice to meet ya, white-haired mister!” When someone calls out to Bell with these words, he discovers that the voice belongs to a small girl, who introduces herself as Lily, a supporter. Somewhat goaded into teaming up with her despite the many doubts running through his head, Bell has a successful turn in Dungeon with his new companion. Though their alliance is short lived, the negative rumors swirling about the guild to which Lily belongs, the Soma Famiglia, are anything but. And then there’s the ale they sell, said to steal the hearts of all who drink it–!?

EDIT: But then the blurb on Amazon uses "Familia" and "Wine":

Though their alliance is short-lived, the negative rumors swirling about the guild to which Lilly belongs, the Soma Familia, are anything but. Later Bell is confronted by the tales of a mysterious sacred wine said to steal the hearts of all who drink it, and—?!

I'm guessing it's a typo; Yen Press's official website is...poorly maintained.

Yeah. The blurb on the back of the novels says

"Hello, white-hair."

Shouldn't the trope page include, I don't know… a description of the story? :x

It previously did. But I commented it out two weeks ago as it's a direct copy of Yen Press' blurb.

I would need to ask something here. You know, the romanization of the names in this wiki is pretty inconsistant. So should we unify it to Yen Press usage (following the general rule of "original media says")? The thing is, sometimes the name they use is a bit unorthodox—for example, Bell Cranell.

I don't see the issue with using Yen Press's translations. They're official after all.
