Helps that the story's there are usually quite excellent. Makes you wonder why Transformers can't do the same.
Though the movie bombed, I think we can all take satisfaction in that. Transformer's 6 is coming, no doubt about that cause they already announced it (Which makes you wonder why the adds kept saying this movie was the last adventure). Hopefully this movie's failings will force them to majorly reshuffle & try harder than just adding in pretty special effects.
I mean I have some faith in that Bumblebee movie cause of the director though the person handling the script has me worried.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
Whelp.
I did it. I really did it.
....I didn't watch the movie and went straight to read its plot on TF Wiki Dot Net.
After watching Spider-Man: Homecoming (freaking awesome in the Dolby Cinema btw), I metaphorically threw my hands up in the air, metaphorically made a raspberry and came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth it. So I just read about what the hell happens.
And I feel like I've missed nothing whatsoever.
...have I done the right thing?
Bah, maybe because I was so fixated on watching it to form my own opinion, but then after seeing Homecoming, I found myself worried that TLK would leave me underwhelmed.
So you guys were right. It just isn't worth it.
I guess all that's left now is to see it continue to fall apart and imagine how panicked anyone who worked in this movie must be as we speak.

I haven't seen it & I don't regret it. Gonna watch some good movies like I just did with Spider-Man & then Planet of the Apes this week.
I know enough that this movie is bad such as the fact Cade is the titular Last Knight. Fuck that cause I don't want the Goddamn humans to be the heroes of Transformer legend. Optimus or Bumblebee should be the Last Knight, not him.
I did buy a Deluxe Barricade toy though. Pretty good one too, helps that Barricade is a pretty cool looking bot.
I felt bad for this guy who said he watched the movie at its premier with the cast. Must be sad watching a shitty movie with the people who made it sitting right there next to you.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
Oh man, it must have been like that episode of 30 Rock when Liz sees a movie Jenna made and has a hard time admitting to her that it was terrible...except this is probably worse because that guy you mentioned saw it right next to the cast themselves.
(Side note: didn't 30 Rock foreshadow a crappy fifth TF movie?)
What is it with these movies and humans?! I mean, I'm a human being, but that doesn't stop me from getting tired of seeing them hog the spotlight!
Really, why would these people think audiences would want to see a Transformers movie for the humans?!

I understand the hate for these movies, I really do. You were huge Transformers fans growing up and now you're quite annoyed that your beloved cartoon has been turned into a cash-grab mindless explosion fest. I get that, and it's a perfectly valid stance to take.
I have never been a Transformers fan, so maybe I can't fully empathize with you all. I don't have the crushing disappointment of hoping for a grand, brilliant story featuring my childhood characters, and getting a generic action film instead every time. I just don't know what it's like to see my favorite franchise bastardized in this specific way.
But dammit, movies are supposed to bring people joy. I used to just not care about these films, and I even sometimes would show resentment just because I wanted to echo the feelings of everyone else around me. But when I see a movie, whether it's a masterpiece or a piece of shit, I want to enjoy it. That means finding things to love in every stupid ridiculous detail, whether it's Mark Wahlberg being the Chosen One or that Hispanic girl who didn't do a damn thing the whole time. It is what it is, and I love it for that.
That doesn't mean I blame any of you people for hating it—like I said, I don't quite know what it's like—but I will just say that it feels good to let go and let yourself enjoy something that you know you're not supposed to enjoy.

I just realized why the Transformers hate didn't overly ring with me, and I wasn't too fazed watching Age of Extinction or even Revenge of the Fallen (though that was years ago when I was younger); I never really loved the original Transformers toys, so I just watch the movies, appreciate certain aspects of setpieces, then just move on. Really I just wanted popcorn.
Admittedly I wasn't fazed when I saw the first three films, but I was also a kid when I saw them. When the third film had come out I remembered being a bit exhausted from how long it was but not really thinking about how some of it wasn't that good.
With Age of Extinction, though, it was nearly three hours long and it was frustrating. Like, even if you're not into film criticism and you don't pay attention to a lot of the plot holes, clumsy exposition, and poorly written dialogue, what's frustrating is the action scenes go on forever to the point where it's headache-inducing and boring. The jokes in most of these movies made me laugh when I was 9 and I thought the word "balls" was the funniest thing ever, but now looking back they're annoying and sometimes kinda racist.
If you like these films as opportunities to turn off your mind and watch shit blow up, hey, more power to ya, but I'm not a Transformers fan, I know bits and pieces about the series but I never really grew up with the different shows or toys, and even I despise these movies a good deal.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I on the other hand started hating this movies after getting back into Transformers & realized that these films are mostly a horrible adaptation of the franchise.
Humans take too much screen-time & are either uninteresting or annoying as fuck (Sam, Tessa, the pervert from the 4th movie) & the personalities & appearances of the robots are ranged from Mixed (Lockdown) to downright dreadful (Soundwave, Shockwave & Hot Rod.) As well as while the franchise isn't perfect, there have been garbage fires (Energon, Combiner Wars) a lot of the shows, games & comic books are of stellar quality so its ridiculous that the movies keep sucking.
I've come to expect more from this shit & even then being a Transformer's fan aside nothing justifies the quality of the movie constantly dropping. This is the fifth movie, how the hell can it keep getting worse? Bay has been clearly burned out on making these movies.
Yeah I agree with ya. Looking back, a lot of this shit is not as good as it was when I was younger.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It's a pity. I do genuinely like this series and want to see more entries. Yes, really. This series is probably my only Guilty Pleasure.
On the other hand, well, this series have been going on for 10 years with little to no chance of improvement, so I wouldn't shed a tear over this series dying.
Well, like it or not, the Bumblebee movie is rolling out full speed ahead, because we're getting a plethora of updates:
We have a male lead
and other random people.
In other news, The Bumblebee movie got a $22 million tax credit.
So Optimus didn't go evil and Cade is some kind of Cybertronian hero?
Spoilers, ho.
I'm basically at the So Bad, It's Good stage. Anyone surprised at the depravity of these films, five films in, is watching this for the masochistic thrill. I am going to watch this film through legal means for the masochistic thrill, and the masochistic thrill alone.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!
We Are With You Zack Snyder
It's currently set to open on the same day as Aquaman and Sony's Untitled Animated Spider-Man movie, December 21, 2018.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureWell, The Last Knight's performance continues to throw monkey wrenches for the film series in general.
People at TFW2005 are already speculating that Michael Bay might be next to get the boot, so...good riddance to bad rubbish?
There's a bunch of unused TLK concept art being released.
I love this concept of a movie-verse Optimus Primal
◊. I love how they worked the Prime!head design into the gorilla head.
Honestly, the Writing Room may not have been the best decision to create, since all these ideas that it apparently created just added to the bloat. Like, the film tried to cram too much into just one film, and as a result, felt overly convoluted. When you have more than two writers on a script, you get a case of too many cooks spoiling the broth after all.
And honestly, I want Bay off of the series not because I dislike him, but because I want him to improve. When he is really enjoying what he's making, regardless of the overall quality, you can really feel it in the film, and that has been sorely lacking in the previous two TF movies.

Transformers movies aren't killing anything. Or keeping anything alive for that matter.
Their role is more a hard-earning franchise to keep big studios rolling thunder and to test the ground for cutting-edge CGI (though that faded after the third film). They're dying out because superhero movies have more or less usurped that place.
