I think the biggest reservation I have about Iron Fist coming first is that we ended up going two and a half years between the first two seasons of Jessica Jones, and I don't think Marvel and Netflix would want to repeat that with Daredevil, their flagship show.

The cold never bothered me anywayIs it just me, or are we likely seeing the return of the season 1 costume?
The cold never bothered me anywaySmall flashbacks maybe. Or maybe Matt still has to get the suit repaired.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I wonder if we'll see Bullseye this season.

The cold never bothered me anywayWell, speak of the (dare)devil.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Let's all pray for Karen.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianYeah I'm iffy on this because Bullseye tends to show how effective a villain he is by fridging women to the point it's a running gag in Superior Foes
I don't want that to happen to any of the possible suspects
Forever liveblogging the AvengersBullseye being the physical manifestation of Daredevil's Catwright Curse is a long-lost staple of the character. While I hope Karen doesn't die, some love interest likely will.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Probably Matt's mom
Forever liveblogging the AvengersMatt's mom is a love interest?
Sheesh. I knew the guy had issues, but seriously...

Forever liveblogging the AvengersI know, I know.
But the urge was too strong to resist.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Well, Jessica and Matt can bond over their moms getting killed.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell? That's be quite funny given that Maggie Murdock stayed alive throughout all of DD's history despite being a normal nun and often being a target of multiple assassinations.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Fair enough
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAnyway, I'm not expecting Karen to die. Besides being one of the major characters on Daredevil, I'm sure the Punisher crew still want her around for Season 2 of that show.
If Bullseye kills Maggie (which I DO expect), then not only can Daredevil and Jessica Jones bond over their mothers being killed, but Bullseye and Trish can bond over being mother-killers and the villains of their respective shows.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!I'm not familiar with the comics, is there a reason why she didn't take Matt in after his dad died?
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobShe had become a nun and completely renounced her former life entirely. I don't even know if she knew anything about her son until their paths crossed again much later.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Karen still has value for the series. Her backstory still a complete mystery, and she hasn't yet come clean with Matt about killing Wesley. Her connection with Frank was for the most part, well-received on The Punisher (even though I personally didn't like some parts of that). She’s also a proxy for the public-at-large towards whatever Daredevil does/will do, and I still believe that Karen and Matt have issues to sort out, conversations to be had, and beds to muss.
I’m not at liberty to tell which characters are expendable, but I personally believe there are a few other characters who could be killed off with maximum impact, while not disrupting the main trio. But in my opinion, there are three characters who aren't expendable besides Matt: Karen, Foggy, and Marci. Personally, I'm more inclined to believe they'll kill off Father Lantom, since he's a minor character that's well-treasured by the audience whenever he pops up, and his role has been greatly diminished as more people in Matt's inner circle have become aware of Matt's identity and taken over the advisor role. And as the others have said, maybe Matt's mom too. There are some IM Db credits for episode 11 for "Panicked Parishioners", suggesting a big fight scene happening in a church, which is where my suspicion that Father Lantom might bite it comes from.
Deborah Ann Woll mentioned in some interviews on The Punisher promotional tour, right before shooting of Daredevil season 3 started, that she'd been in talks with Erik Oleson, the new showrunner, regarding the direction of Karen's backstory and her overall character and story arc. Seeing how much Deborah cares about Karen as a character, and how much Charlie Cox loves Matt's relationship with Karen, and of course Karen's job at the Bulletin giving her lots of room for crossovers to other shows, I'd say she's here to stay for the long-haul.

The cold never bothered me anywayKilling off Lantom would be a ballsy and powerful moment, but the consequences would be pretty disappointing for me. His scenes with Matt are some of the best non-action scenes in the series, and even though more and more people know he's Daredevil, he's still emotionally concealed around them in a way he isn't with Lantom. He doesn't just tell him "I'm Daredevil", he tells him things like "I'm Daredevil and I want to go kill a man" or "I gave up being Daredevil but I secretly want to put the mask on again" that he wouldn't ever tell Foggy, Karen, or the other Defenders.
Without Lantom, narratively speaking you lose out on a way for Matt to actually vocalize his darker impulses and inner turmoil. You could just replace him with a new confessional priest, but if he's too similar to Lantom that takes the bite out of his possible death and if he's not similar enough you can't do those scenes anymore.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! What you could do is kill off Lantom and have Maggie Murdock fill in his role as Matt's confessor, as it's done sometimes in the comics.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Whatever the case, let us not forget that Deborah Ann Woll has said recently that she thinks season 3 may be their best season written to date. Season 2 ended on a low note, right after Season 1 ended on a high note, so I'm assuming Season 3 will also end on a high note, and hopefully we get a stronger year compared to season 2. With no more setting up for spinoffs, just back to the basics of what made Season 1 so fantastic. And with Matt's character being redeemed (since obviously, they didn't have time for that in The Defenders).
The cold never bothered me anyway
I kinda hope Iron Fist S2 comes out before Daredevil S3 just so the season numbers can be aligned.
