:D That makes me happy! Wonder who they got to do it. Probably Ken Duncan studios.

Or one their own studios since Disney still does plenty of 2D

Why Ken Duncan studios then?

First time I've heard of them

Ken Duncan is a former Disney animator who simply runs his own studio now and employs past and current friends of his who are the best hand-drawn traditional animators alive today who aren't working at a major studio. And I didn't choose Disney Animation Studios as a guess for this 20-minute-long sequence because they haven't produced any hand-drawn animation that lasts more than 2 minutes since 2011.

Probably involves him declaring Pooh isn't real and violently smash a honey pot

Since Christopher Robin both in reality and in the movie was in World War II, I assume it's going to be scenes from that.

[up] This.

Christopher Robin in the books/movies is named and based upon the author's real life son Christopher Robin, who grew to have a... somewhat resigned - if ultimately very zen - relationship with this as an adult.

In the movie, they seem to be adapting Poohverse Christopher Robin's adult life as having similarities to his real life counterpart, which includes establishing that he served in WW 2.

That movie has a dedicated thread.

Personally, I'd prefer if the 'net was a little friendlier, but you know the GIFT...

@ 541 There's also the fact that AA Milne has a whole series of poems (the "Christopher Robin" poems) famous, or infamous depending on your point of view, for being a mite sentimental and cutesy-poo for most people's tastes. Many, even at the time of publication, felt the same about the Pooh books (Dorothy Parker, in her review of the first Pooh book, said it made her want to "Fro Up"). Christopher Robin Milne went to a boarding school, and apparently got razzed and picked on so much about being the subject of his father's work that he took up boxing.

Despite all that, and despite stories to the contrary, his falling out with his parents apparently wasn't over his father's work (he apparently maintained a cordial relationship with his father) but over the fact that he married contrary to his mother's wishes (she wanted him to marry the daughter of a friend). His attitude towards the Pooh books was apparently simply borne out of the fact that people kept asking him about them; it wasn't really that he hated them, he just got sick of talking about them.

So far, the first thing bad about the Christopher Robin movie is that Pooh and his friends look like CGI plush puppets.
