Is that all… they’ll probably beef it up to a potential apocalypse if they adapt.
Anyone interested in Young Woman and the Sea? Looks like a real Oscar grab from the studio.
You’re Gonna Carry That Weight.According to wikipedia
Slalom courses, bobsled, and toboggan runs became downhill water slides. The creek of melted snow that formed at the base of the mountain became a relaxing tube ride. The chairlift carried swimmers instead of skiers. The ski jump became the tallest and fastest water slide in the world.
News from Hollywood Reporter: they’ve cast their live-action Moana.
You’re Gonna Carry That Weight.I just wanna say how bizarre it is we're getting a sequel to the original animated film (which isn't that old of a film), and a live-action remake within a short timespan.

Like creepy stories? Check out my book!I get live action remakes make a lot of money, and I get sequels make a lot of money, but maybe releasing them so close together for the same film would undermine both? While I think the remakes are unnecessary, wouldn't it be better to remake an older Pixar film (even one that's, relatively recent, like Tangled, I would say Frozen because a remake of that would make boatloads of money, but I think they're focusing on sequels first) than remake a film you're about to make a sequel for? People might be Moana-d out by the time of the remake, or think the sequel is pointless as a new continuity will be made soon.
Oh yeah. I just sort of conflate CGI Pixar and CGI Disney in my head. Still, I think my point still stands (just replace mentions of Pixar with Disney).

Some more news. The Rock’s production company has signed a first look deal with Disney. Source is Variety: https://variety.com/2024/film/news/dwayne-johnson-disney-first-look-deal-movies-1236036046/
...Can I be honest? I'm morbidly curious about this here.
Self-professed Wild Card who thinks cynicism isn't so bad. Both, actually. The Moana remake, it'll be interesting seeing a Maui who isn't the cartoonish exaggeration we see in the film (though whether or not he'll be done well is another matter entirely)... and as for the deal... I'll be honest, Dwayne Johnson might actually bring something to these live action remakes worth talking about. I don't know if it'll be a good something, but you know what, I'm certainly intrigued now.

Apparently, it’s going to theatres. Not streaming.
You’re Gonna Carry That Weight.Rewatching Cruella.
The Baroness is pretty much running a business by having her underlings come up with ideas. Then she approves and models them in public, earning headlines and reputation for her "design."
Also I like this movie. Yeah it's not... a good origin story for a villain, but I don't entirely hate it. Getting a nice "this person was oppressed but was secretly always rotten" twist wouldn't be so bad."
If we got a Jafar where it turned out Jafar was a street rat like Aladdin too, but unlike Aladdin lacked a good heart and refused to sacrifice his desires, leading him to grabbing power as the Sultan's vizier - I'd dig it.
Scar might be harder to portray since the lions are, well, lions. He's getting a comic book prequel though.

Already the case in the live action adaptation Aladdin (2019)
He was just a thief like Aladdin, and served time in jail in another country before ending up as the Sultan's number two.
Of course that Jafar was not as good as the original animated one.
