Armor Outpost

For one, no one was surprised by the hostile welcome they were given.

However, everyone was surprised at just how much firepower was put into those two choppers.

It didn't help that it appeared to be Blacktech.

Still, immediate enslavement didn't sound like it was an option. The commanders gave the crew of the ship the order to bring up the barriers.

Glyphs were activated which soon covered the airship in a green, spherical barrier, 'Faultless Defense', the standard amongst not only the Illyrian army but many magic users. While not 'Faultless' as its name would claim, it would certainly do its job deflecting enemy fire.

The envoy approached the deck, setting his voice in front of a communicator. His finger pressed on a button, allowing his voice to be exerted outwards towards the choppers.

"We come on behalf of the leaders of the Armor Outpost, who have fallen under the protection of the Illyrian Army. Please retreat, or we'll be forced to respond appropriately."

Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Rouge - Angel Island, Master Emerald Shrine - Super Bash Brothers

With one skeleton down, Rouge swooped down to Tails' level and high-fived him for their teamwork. However, there were still two more Trauma Harnesses to deal with. Sonic and Knuckles decided to do a bit of teamwork of their own to pick the remaining two off. The blue hedgehog leaped up into the air, curling himself into a ball, before being caught by the red echidna. Knuckles then hurled the spiked ball of death at one of the remaining skeletons.

Castlevania, Mad Forest

What Candy and Dixie would find was a coven of Witches surrounding the campfire. At the moment, they seemed to be shielding their eyes from the harsh headlights of their vehicle. There were twelve witches in all, dressed in black dresses and boots as well as wide rimmed hats. Candy and Dixie seemed to have interrupted what they were doing though. One of them, the frontmost witch, seemed to be waving them down.

Shell A, Royal Court

As the Knight's opponents were beings made primarily out of cellulose and plant fibre, it wasn't hard to believe that the overgrown spore plants went down quickly as the flames engulfed them. As they burned, the wretched things screeched and hissed, spraying thick, acidic-smelling liquid all over everything nearby.

Shell B, Capitol Town

Gabe had just finished shaking one of the screaming knights in his jaws, waggling them back and forth like a puppy with a bone. His growl was more like a rusty engine than anything organic, and he was just about to open his mouth and take another bite out of his newest snack when Klein's voice cut in over his portable intercom.

"GABE! GABE! BOROUS, MAKE HIM STOP EATING THE TEST SUBJECTS BEFORE HE CORRUPTS OUR DATA ANY FURTHER!"

"Good BOY, Gabe. Klein, I am 78.3 percent certain that he has just IRREPERABLY MUTILATED a member of the local POSTAL SERVICE, as his lovable DOGGY PROGRAMMING dictates. Why, look at him GO! Chase them, Gabe! Chase them, hunt them down as if they were specimens of FELIS CATUS!"

"Excuuuuse me, Borous..." cut in 0, his sing-song voice belying a mixture of frustration and anxiety. "But aren't we forgetting something here? You know, the Collector? His technology? The fact that Gabe is supposed to be tracking him down?!"

"Gabe, forget what I told you! Stick to the MISSION!" With that, Gabe planted his nose against the ground and began sniffing. It only took a few more seconds before the enormous cyberdog picked up a promising scent, and went bounding into the castle, hot in pursuit of something or other. "ARE YOU THERE, COLLECTOR?" yelled Klein through the dog's external speakers.

"COLLECTOR, WE HAVE COME TO... UH... COLLECT YOU. FOLLOW THE SOUND OF SLOBBERING AND HEAVY BREATHING AND WE WILL LEAD YOU TO SAFETY. UNLESS YOU CANNOT HEAR THIS MESSAGE, IN WHICH CASE DISREGARD IT. THAT IS ALL."

Shell C, Near Safety Bunkers

The Knight's fire burned back the rapidly growing toxic jungle, butying them enough time to seal the gates. On the other hand, the plants were still growing quickly and virulently. Before long, they were spreading their roots down into the concrete, filling every space they could reach with green. The bunker itself was secure, however.

Starling City

Volke watched the two leave, and waved goodbye to the little girl. Now that could be an interesting thread to follow up. He returned to his work and resumed listening on interesting conversations.

Fuyuki City Docks

Soren found Ike and Saber by the docks, but stood back as they finished up their official business. Ike was still playing the role of silent man-at-arms, letting Saber deal with the strange flying girl. He wondered if she was some kind of foreign laguz...then the small earthquake happened.

Immediately, he turned northwards, watching the flight of birds. A change on the Battleworld had occurred once again. Had Fuyuki lost a neighbour...or gained a new?

Melior - Guard Tower

"Ah, that I'm afraid I can't give."

So, whatever they used to take those pictures of the territories could not take pictures inside from outside. It was a relief to have that confirmed, at least.

"However, we can give you the necessary papers to enter the city freely and also an introductory letter so that you can easily interview anyone you want."

Melior - Empty lot

John stood back and watched as the plants did Sanae's bidding. He had to admit it was quite impressing.

While Kuvira took off her armor and got ready for the fight, Travis raised his hand to get Jeane's attention.

"Yeah, I got an objection. I saw this bitch first, don't I get dibs on the duel?"

"No, Travis. It doesn't work that way."

She began rotating her shoulders to prepare for the fight when she saw Bad Girl also raising her hand.

"Jeane~ I didn't get to kill anyone..."

"That's too bad."

"Let me fight, please~"

"No. I am fighting, so stop asking."

Badgirl pouted and narrowed her eyes ant Jeane.

"Bitch..."

They were like fucking children, Jeane was going to have to remember to keep those two doing grunt work and away from anything even resembling diplomacy. She would have considered their offer, would save her the trouble of having to do this her self. But the both of them used weapons in their work, she was the most qualified for the match.

With Kuvira ready, Jeane got into a kick boxing stance. She eyed her up and down to make sure that what she said about there being no metal was true and was satisfied. Fair she says. Jeane never knew life to be fair. You do what you have to do, anything less and you end up just another victim at the mercy of the victor.

"You sure you want to lose in front of your men? Guess we couldn't have it any other way. Tell you what, I'll even give you first swing. It would be embarrassing if I ended it before you could even attempt to hit me. Come on, show me what you got?"

Jeane curled her fingers, motioning for Kuvira to come at her. Despite being a standard taunt, Jeane actually meant it. She would dodge and weave while she got use to Kuvira's fighting rhythm, then when Kuvira commits to an attack, use her amazing speed to take advantage of an opening and do some serious damage.

Optimus sighed, taking a step back to give the two duelists some space. Contests of might between leaders were a rather primitive means of ending bloodshed, but means nontheless. At the very least, he could appreciate the leaders of the two factions placing the lives of their people above themselves, even if it ended up involving a fight to the death.

"Alright. Fine. You organics do what you need to do to secure peace. We Autobots will enforce the result and prevent foul play. Just make sure your forces are aware of the terms."

Selima & Horse, Raptor/City 17

Selima stared dumbly at the wan, horrific corpse within the armour. He had only ever known the clean, simple and elegant solutions of Clan medical tech. They both optimised quality of life and reduced the time to recover from injury. This was something else entirely: medical expertise used to turn the body into little more than a puppet, utilitarian and brutal. The freebirths may have had bizarre and potentially superior technologynote , but it seemed a mocking, cruel parody of what the Clans - indeed, humanity - used.

"I will be taking the body with us," said Selima firmly to Horse. The tone he used made it clear that he would brook no argument, regardless of differences in rank or role on the battlefield. "The Star Colonel must see this."

He hefted the body on to his shoulder with ease - in fact, it was too easy, due to the fact the corpse was essentially hollow. The Elemental began bounding back toward friendly territory.

"This is Horse to all units, we are returning to the Raptor," said Horse as he steered his Summoner back toward friendly territory. The rest of his star trailed behind him, with a gaggle of Elementals clustered around the metal titans. They may have retreated for now - though Horse hesitated to call it as such - but they would be back to save this city's inhabitants from its dezgra ruler.

It was almost as though the war between the Clans and the Inner Sphere was being played out in miniature.

The SWAT Cops looked at each other.

"Immediate destruction followed by immediate enslavement of whatever is left, then."

The two choppers spun around, pointing their guns at the Irilyia envoy, the air filling with the sound of guns being cocked and ready for action. "Please prepare for immediate destruction. Por favor preparar para destruccion imediata. Thank you. Gracias." The tip of the weapons started to glow red as they got ready to shoot....

"Oh my gosh Garnet the monkey is TAAALKIIIING!" Pearl yells as Garnet steps out of the house, towering over the other Gem.

"Heh. Monkey." Garnet chuckles, before cupping her hands over her mouth. "FUNKY MONKEY! WHY ARE YOU HERE?!"

Helghast Envoy/Central City

"Excellent. My writers are typing up a draft as we speak, formalizing our intentions to share resources, forces, technology, essentially make our two lands an unified country, with control on my and your hands, Captain. Would you like to add anything to our treaty before Slajavic signs?"

Irilyia Castle Dungeon

The Collector perked up, leaning back on his cell as he continued playing a game of holographic cards. "Oh, is that for me?!" He asked out loud, sticking his head out the cell to grin at the guards. "You two better run. Whoever's coming for me is probably behind all the commotion upstairs.

"Please... we already stopped fighting." The Earth Empire soldier continued, shaking his head. "We thank you for anything that you did, and we really have no intentions to continue. So p-please... don't get close to us. Some of the others are scared, they might try to bend you out of fright."

Stepping outside, Kuvira smiled as her soldiers naturally opened up a circle for her confrontation with Jeane. Stretching her arms, she patted her baggy pants, made sure her shirt was just fine and turned around to face her enemy. "Oh, please. Don't patronize me." She groaned when Jeane offered the first move. "Attack or don't. It's almost like you don't know how to fight."

Axton followed the group outside and quietly inserted himself into the ring of people that had been assembled around the two. Personally, he was cool with the idea of a duel. He and the other vault hunters had been known to resort to it when a bandit dropped a particularly nice gun, and arguments over who got it erupted. Only difference here being that he was fairly sure this would end up being to the death.

Axton was sure of what he'd be doing if Jeane won. Her forces were clearly hurting for guns, given what he'd seen of the cop's armaments, and he'd be offering as many as they were willing to buy from Marcus. Money might be a problem, given he wasn't sure if they used the same stuff that was on Pandora, but he had a couple ideas bout that. After this shitstorm, she probably wouldn't object to that.

As for what happened if the other woman won...Axton was less sure. He'd downed a couple of this woman's men, and she, in her insanity, appeared to be blaming everyone but herself for this crap. Was she gonna hold it against him? It was possible. even if she didn't, he'd now have an insane warmongering empire to the east to add to his already considerable amount of shifty neighbors, and she'd already proven to be stubborn as a brick and insane. Might be better to take her out now rather then wait for her to march on Sanctuary.

He wasn't worried about her winning that fight. If the town could fight off attacks from trillion dollar mega-corps headed by equally insane leaders, they could hold off a group of people with no guns and only limited amounts of control over metal. Hell, if she couldn't even block a shotgun blast, they'd get ripped apart by the hail of gunfire he'd have waiting for them. Still, people would probably get killed in the attack on both sides, and Axton really didn't have much interest in putting the people of Sanctuary at risk any more then they already were.

Regardless of who won here, this trip had opened unexpected opportunities. The big robot dude looked like he'd be easy enough to convince to form an allegiance with. He alone could probably destroy this woman's entire attacking force if he had to. The other person in the armor, he was less sure of, but she, at least, wasn't insane or anything, just cared a lot about honorable combat it seemed. He'd seen enough of that attitude out of Zer0 that he figured he could work with her if she was open to it.

But first, it was time to see how the fight went. Axton held his shotgun in his hand, ready to blow away the woman if she went and tried to cheat or any bullshit like that. he might have her forces all around him, but he'd yet to take a significant hit, so that meant they wouldn't know about the shield he had on him that would block their opening attacks and leave him free and clear to open fire, not to mention that he still had the misses to use. Again, they may have trouble blocking the barrage of simultaneous missiles and gunfire that she would fire.

"Fine, I'll take that," said Hatate, nodding. "Plus a list of the, like, most important people in town."

With the troublesome vegetation out of the way. Sanae clasped her hands together. Immediately Suwako appeared, materializing out of thin air. She did it again, and the oak tree was forcibly uprooted and pushed into a corner.

"Ah, the theurge calls. Phase 1 is done then?" said the native god. "The kappa are eager to see if their creation holds up."

"Yes," Sanae replied, nodding. "It's up to you now."

"You'd better get miracle going then, or it will probably still break on impact."

With that said, the god floated up into the air, surveying the city and surrounding land. She could see Youkai Mountain in the distance, and back on the ground she could feel it. Then Suwako disappeared.

Sanae meanwhile started chanting. Very fast, words that seemed to make no sense to John. After ten or so minutes she stopped.

"That ought to do it. If the kappa's engineering holds up." she turned to John. "I'd brace myself for impact if I were you."

What she was referring to was made clear not long after. It appeared first as a black circle coming from the direction of Youkai mountain, than gradually grew as it hurtled towards Melior. With pinpoint accuracy, almost as if by a miracle, it landed on the plot of land Sanae had been granted. As if by a miracle, it remained intact even as it hit the ground, admittedly with less force than might be expected.

Suwako rematerialized next to Sanae once the dust had settled. The shrine was slight tipped to the side on top of the ground, the stone foundations cracked and crumbling.

"I have awesome aim," Suwako said, obviously happy with the result. "And it survived too."

Putting a hand on the ground, the earth parted for the shrine, swallowing up the stone and straightening the shrine.

"The kappa will be happy. We'll invite the tengu too, and everyone will celebrate!"

Sanae smiled. She had performed two miracles in 10 minutes, that actually had appreciable effects. "I think I'll pass. I don't need tengu quoting long-gone poets at me."

"Oh, the alcohol thing? Sure, whatever works for you."

"Excellent, Miss Shameimaru. Welcome to the Royal Couriers."

Saber looked at him.

"Forgive me, my liege. The Mayoral Couriers."

Mayor Hirai tracked the birds and clasped his hands. He had been waiting for this, it seemed.

"Your first dispatch, of course, will be an investigation into that tremor. I'd like a full report, with as much detail as possible. And please..."

His eyes crinkled.

"Make it juicy."

As the Mayor dealt with the girl, Saber turned to Soren.

"I trust your lodgings were satisfactory, Mage Soren. I apologize for stealing your countryman, but the dawn duel beckoned."

Fuyuki-Akiba Border

"No, Miss Taiga! Don't do this! Please, think of our children!"

The three burly men ran after the schoolgirl, whining plaintively. Taiga turned and gave a dismissive wave.

"C'mon, guys, you can do better than that. You don't even have children. Besides" - and she patted her back - "I have a bokken!"

"Well, yeah, but the boss'll have our nuts if we don't ow!"

"Little girl, man. Little girl. Also the boss's daughter."

"Oh, I'm sorry, princess. This is the yakuza, the salon is that way."

"I'll give you salon!"

"Um, guys?"

The men looked up in mid-scuffle. Taiga was gone.

"Nuts," the first one summed up succintly.

The buildings of Fuyuki gave way to the polished skeleton of Akiba. Taiga grinned, walking cheerily. (Cheerful walking involves much swinging of the arms and application of the head.)

"This place is awesome! Like a video-game or something!"

She nodded, satisfied, as if confirming the accuracy of her own statement. Then she waved a hand in front of her face.

Santa Destroy - Townsend residence

Bad Girl, Death Metal, his bodyguards, Travis, and Jeane made their way to the front yard of the Townsend residence. The LB soldiers kept their position in the mansion and Holly brought up her soldiers from the back to reinforce them. Staying with her men, she pulled out a pair of binoculars in order to get a view of the fight from her distance.

When Bad Girl saw the Zaofu soldiers, she could not help but burst out laughing.

"Hahaha, holy shit these guys got fucked! Haha, Guess that's what happens to a bunch pussies. Haha, did you see their faces, I think they have been crying. God, they are so fucking pathetic, Haha."

"That's enough girl."

Bad Girl turned and shot Death Metal an annoyed look, the sword man giving her one of his own.

"The fuck you say old man? Come on, don't tell me this shit doesn't burn your ass too? Bunch of little bitches playing at soldiers, making a fucking mockery of themselves."

"Enough. Girl."

"You know, I have been real fucking patient. I'm in this for two things, blood and booze. Since right now I am without either, I guess that means you guys have failed to live up to your end of the bargain. Maybe its time I stop listening to limp dick shits like you. What are you going to do old man? Stop me?"

As the two stared each other down, Jeane got into the ring. Travis and the bodyguards took their positions at the ring side. Jeane got into her kick boxing stance again.

Didn't seem Kuvira was taking the bait. With how bull headed her invasion strategy was, Jeane was actually surprised that she was a cautious fighter. Then again, with her don't know how to fight statement, its possible what Jeane was trying to do went completely over her head. Or she may be trying to turn the trick over, get herself riled up and on the offensive while Kuvira played defensively. One of the easiest ways to lose a fight is to fuck up your attack and leave your self wide open.

But unlike Kuvira, Jeane already had a good idea of what her opponent was capable of. She had been watching her fight in the room. Kuvira on the other hand had maybe one attack to guess Jeane's strength, and even then she didn't get a good look considering how distracted she was.

"Just trying to be a good sport. I want you to remember when I kill you that I gave you every opportunity to live."

Jeane got to action. Kuvira would see a blur move behind her, if she did not react fast enough she would feel two punches and a kick to her back. Jeane was just jabbing for now, but the blows would still leave serious bruises and crack bone. Jeane would then continue this tactic, using her amazing speed and a series of aggressive jabs to force Kuvira on the defensive. She was sure to change up which direction she came from in order to avoid becoming predictable and to keep Kuivra guessing. When she had forced Kuvira to focus solely on blocking, Jeane would begin to put some real muscle behind her attacks and just tear through her arms and into the rest of her body. If Kuvira tried to dodge, she would find her self out maneuvered by the much faster woman. If she tried to grab Jeane, she would find one on Jeane's many reversals or escapes. If she tried to attack, she would simply find her self hitting air and open to more attacks. Even if she tried to cheat and use her powers, since they were tied to physical movement, Jeane would just take advantage of the opening such a motion would create. Kuvira would quickly find her self in a bad place unless she could come up with something.

Beach City

"It's a FLYING and TALKING MONKEY!" Pearl freaked out again.

"Sure! You can come up!" Garnet said, prompting Pearl to almost tear her hair out.

After climbing up the stairs, Funky Kong would be allowed into a quaint wooden beach house connected to the rocky interior of the mountain. Lounging lazily on one of the sofas was a purple-skinned girl, who promptly popped the gum she was chewing once Funky came into view. "Woah." Amethyst chuckled. "A monkey wearing glasses. Cool."

"No, this is most definitely not cool!" Pearl said, glaring at Funky. "Who are you? What are your intentions to us?" She gasped. "Are you from that neighboring town? Did you capture Steven?!"

"Sorry for that." Garnet interrupted, as chill as ever. "Pearl can get a little bit anxious."

Citadel of Amn

"Sounds sweet!" Steven said, before noticing his father cleaning his throat. "Uhm, I mean, verily, Lord Leofric! Tis an addition I can agree on!... as just as it isn't someone who wants to hurt my friends, alright?"

Helghast Envoy/Central City

"Modifications will be made, Captain." King Bradley said, tapping his fingers on the table until a page-long draft was given to him. "Ah. Here we go." He held the paper in front of the screen for the Captain to read- it'd be the usual treaty, declaring the two states' union, how they'd work together to solve all problems dealing with people outside of their alliance, how they would share resources, name change, all that. There was one empty space, though.

"A flag. We will need a flag to hold proudly up in the skies, won't we, Captain?"

Santa Destroy

Kuvira remained completely still. Straight back, eyes front, hands behind her back, clasping one another. And she didn't even move as Jeane dashed behind her. But there's one thing Jeane couldn't ignore: as she moved, faster than a normal human- or heck, even a superhuman- Kuvira's eyes followed her all along the way, moving in the same speed as her. She spun around on her heels, hands still behind her back, that obnoxious confident smirk still on her face.

Jeane's jabs came, and once more, Kuvira did something no one expected, not even Jeane herself: with cool confidence and a smarmy attitude, she inhumanly dodged every one of Jeane's jabs, no matter how much she changed up the attack. And all the way, Kuvira's eyes didn't just follow Jeane's, they practically stuck themselves to the Santa Destroy's leaders orbs and would not let go, like a stalker caressing its prey. If she kicked, Kuvira jumped. If she went for an uppercut, Kuvira spun around. All throughout the way, the Earth Empire leader wasn't just exhibiting superhuman abilities: she was rubbing them all over Jeane and her soldier's faces, doing a display on just how much she was holding herself back. "I think this is all getting rather tiring, isn't it." Kuvira said, sliding back and out of Jeane's range. "Is that all you got?"

However, all the Earth Empire soldiers- at least those unmasked- were sharing similar looks of surprise and complete befuddlement at their leader's sudden display of ability. But Kuvira's smile meant one thing, and one thing only: I'm cheating, and you can't prove it, bitch.

BEACH CITY, TEMPLE HOUSE

Funky looked around, admiring the cozy, quaint, near retro style of the house interior. "Lovin' the digs, mon," he complimented. He then spotted Amethyst lazing about. The Kong gave paused for a moment to give the purple-skinned a flirtacious smile and a wink before sitting down the larger sofa.

"Whoa lady, cool your jets, no need to aggro," Funky assured Pearl. "I'll help ya find your son later if that's what ya want." Then to Garnet. "Anyway, I've flown to a couple places around the world a few times, even gotten a few mainland expansions to my business, but I've never seen this place before. This place near the Mushroom Kingdom, or a different human country entirely?"

CASTLEVANIA, MAD FOREST

"Wait, Dracula?" Candy said in slight disbelief. "As in, the Dracula? Famous movie monster, Lord of all Vampires, based off an ancient warlord known for having breakfast in the fields of his dead victims and called the Impaler for shoving sharp pikes up their - "

"What are you guys doing out here, anyway?" Dixie interrupted, asking the witches directly.

"Yes, that is me." said Miko, smiling at the envoys "I'm guessing you've come here for business? I'm afraid there's not much that we can talk about as I talked to your leader just yesterday." she giggled, already feeling bad for the trio for pretty much coming there for nothing, unless they were there just to investigate the area.

Sekibanki stopped to think for a moment before focusing her gaze on the succubus "I see, where was it heading to?"

Marisa - Angel Island

Marisa got some distance away from the fight as she saw the rest of the group laying down the beatdown on the creatures attacking them. She just stood floating in the air observing their fighting style, she was quite impressed with how Knuckles and Sonic worked so well as a team, though their idea of a combination move was a bit amusing to her.

"Tch... This would be done a lot faster if I still had my mini-hakkero with me. Though..." she then glanced at Tails and his vehicle "Hmm... Maybe he could help make another one? He seems to be the kind of guy who would be good at building things even if he might need some magic to do it." she gave a playful smile.

Santa Destroy - Townsend Residence

Hearing the fight starting, Bad Girl turned her attention away from Death Metal.

"Asshole, your making miss it!"

She made her way to the ring, shoving her way to the front. Death Metal kept an eye on her but also began watching this show of skill. Travis was smiling from his vantage point at the ring side.

"This is some crazy shit, straight out of a shonen anime."

Jeane kept a straight face, keeping her eyes on Kuvira's body for any hint of movement so she could react if need be. It was not looking good. Where did all this extra speed come from? Jeane had trained her body to be able to move at inhuman levels. She relied on it heavily to evade whatever her enemies threw at her and close the distance for the kill. If she could not completely out maneuver her enemy, she would have been shot dead or cut down a long time ago. But here there was this woman making a complete mockery of her skills. She wasn't even trying either. With this difference in skill, It was very real possibility that this simply wasn't a fight that Jeane could win.

No, fuck that. Jeane couldn't think about that. Eye always on the prize, no room for doubt. Survival was always a game of adaptability. While this development greatly reduced her paths to victory, it did not close all them. She would just to concentrate on what was still available to her.

Kuvira had chose to dodge all her attacks. It was possible this was purely to show off, but then this may have been a tactical decision. Could she have known what her fists could do? No, how could she? But for all her speed, she was moving purposely avoid putting muscle to muscle. She could be trying to cover what she feels is a weak point for her. She may lack the proper muscle and bone structure that Jeane had, Jeane could still be stronger in this fight. And since this was still hand to hand combat, taking a hit wouldn't be as much of a death warrant to Jeane as other scenarios. Hoping for weakness in one's opponent was a fool thing to do though, she couldn't rely on it.

Where did she get all that extra speed? Jeane had watched her in the previous fight and she didn't approach anything near this. Why didn't she move this fast before? Around this time Jeane began noticing the reaction of the Zaofu soldiers. They weren't cheering for their leader's show of skill, they were as confused as she was. So something was up. But given the rules were for no weapons and no armor, what ever is giving her this boost may still be legal in this fight. Still wouldn't hurt to try. If she couldn't get her disqualified, perhaps she could at least get her talking, let something slip about what the hell is going on so she could think of a way around it. If nothing else, she could at least try to get Kuvira angry and stupid, prone to making a mistake.

"Not bad. You're fast, real fast. Fast enough that saving your men back in that last fight should have been a piece of cake for you. Guess you can't be bothered to haul ass to save the lives of those trying to protect you, got to save it so you can show off huh? You even gave that half ass attempt. I bet they really thought you were trying to save them. But instead you purposely kept your abilities just under what it would take to assure their survival. You knowingly let them die to maintain a bluff.

Actually that makes a lot of sense now that I think about it. These soldiers here are, what did you call them, peace time soldiers? Doesn't sound like the type you want heading the vanguard into unfamiliar territory. Then rather then gear up for a proper war, you march these guys straight into a slaughter. But that was your plan wasn't it? Use the the blood of your men as camouflage for what you could really do?"

It wasn't proof of misdeed, but it should at least get people talking. With any luck, at least one of the Zaofu soldiers would be pissed off enough to take a crack at Kuvira, nullifying the match. Given that this was an empire though, they probably have some indoctrination that keeps them from having individual emotions. Still, if she could get at least get the ball rolling, other people could get talking and perhaps shed some light on what the hell this is.

At the end of it though, Kuvira had to be prepared for a fight. With the difference in skill, she couldn't risk a long match. Kuvira had already seen through everything she had thrown at her, she could not risk her getting accustomed to what few tricks she still had up her sleeve. She was going to have to move like when she learning to dodge bullets, predict the action and begin moving before hand. It was the only hope she had of closing the distance in speed. She kept her position and prepared to move at the hint Kuvira was making her attack. She would raise her foot and slam it to the ground, creating a small shock wave. If it was timed right, Kuvira would be hit with the shock wave about the time she closed the distance. Jeane would have to make use of that opening. She would take only a slight glance to see if Kuvira was in front of her, if she was not, Jeane would turn and put all her strength into a punch behind her. If she was lucky, her fist would be buried in Kuvira's chest. If she was unlucky, she would be wide open to a counterattack.

Armor Outpost

The order was to refrain from firing until they were being fired upon, a standard of an attempt of peace.

But the commanders figured they could stretch things a little. I mean, they were about to be fired upon.

"Ready cannons!"

Four cannons sprouted to life on the airship's sides, each side bearing two which were pointed at that side's corresponding chopper.

With fervor, the commander screamed from within the airship's inner deck.

"Fire!"

These cannons took a certain amount of time to aim at the choppers, and the SWAT cops would likely be able to fire the first shots, shots that the Knights trusted would be kept at bay with the airship's barrier.

But once those precious seconds were up, the cannons fired, unleashing bolts of raw magical energy at the choppers. These bolts were neither cannonballs, nor missiles nor guns, instead they took the form of straight beams that traveled extremely fast, but with a rate of fire of about five seconds between each shot.

The cannons unloaded themselves, while the SWAT cops likely did the same. It was now a matter of which ship took a hit first.

Human Village

"Is that so? You've spoken with his Majesty, Ky Kiske?"

The envoys seemed less surprised and more inquiring. Sure, it meant they've wasted a trip, but it was nice to know a potential ally would come to them to discuss matters first.

"If I may...what matters were discussed?"

Shell A, Royal Court

"Back up, back up!"

The knights of Illyria were a diligent, organized force. Though some might get reckless every now and again, few ever broke formation when they were dealing with organisms like this; organisms which reminded them far too much of Gears not to demand similar tactics of keepaway.

The various formations backed up, maintaining their distance from their enemies and the fluids they produced upon death. No doubt, however, the acid would do a number on the architecture.

There goes Ky's rebuilding fund.

Shell B, Capitol Town

As Gabe continued, the beast would find that the town was swarming with troops, most cleaning up on the hostile plant life in a similar manner to the forces in the Royal Court.

As the lobotomites charged, the knights answered suitably, switching formations to a more melee focused one.

Swordsmen charged and locked weapons with the lobotomites, while the support units stayed close behind and buffered their assault with blessings of strength and healing, while giving aid in the form of an occasional fireball aimed at a lobotomite to give their corresponding swordsman some breathing room.

Only a few swordsmen and and their leader stood in Gabe's way.

The Convict Hammer stood in the beast's path. Aware that it'd be an issue, he muttered a chant and graced his fellow Swordsmen with the Warrior's Breath, granting them increased strength and fervor.

"Converge on the beast! Charge!"

With that, a total of three Swordsmen surrounded Gabe, attempting to drive him back with their swords, while the Convict Hammer slowly approached, the unusually large implement he held in both hands intending to strike the beast's head when it gave an opening.

Prison Cell

"We request that you maintain silence, sir."

The guards refused to pay the Collector any mind. However...

"Jesus, he gives me the creeps."

"Shut it! Just...don't talk! Don't even give him the time of day!"

Shell C, Near the Bunkers

With the closing of the gates, the bunkers, as well as the civilians, were secure.

However, the hostile plant life just kept growing, threatening to corner the knights and their support units.

One knight tapped a hand to his ear, calling for backup.

"Requesting backup in our sector! We're being cornered!"

"Roger that. We'll come in and attack from the other side."

On cue, a similar group of Swordsmen and Wise Men (the support units) sandwiched the hostile plants on the other side, wherever that might have been, and attempted to clean house on their side.

The hostile plant life was surrounded in a pincer attack on both sides. The knights, together, attempted to stave off their continued growth.

Armor Outpost

"Enemies have weapons. Enemies have weapons with no charge factor!" The SWAT Cop Weapons Master informed, as their weapons still had a few seconds to charge up. "Leader, leader, what are we to do!"

"Assume Humorous Response Delivery Position." The SWAT Cop Leader ordered, as all of the SWAT Cops turned their heads to face one portion of the empty sky. "Uh-Oh." They all said in unison, before their choppers were hit full on by the cannon fire. The blocky exterior of the choppers created minor explosions (which the Irilyia soldiers would note were also, somehow, made out of blocks) forcing the choppers to slowly descend into the grassy areas of Armor Outpost.

"Wait, wait, what's going on?" Lord Business asked from the ground as he saw two of his choppers falling from the sky. "Oh, that's it. You fellas have rustled me too much! Micromanagers... MANAGE!" The clawed flying blocks took to the air, surrounding the Irylia airships before digging their claws deep into their outer shells, trying to pierce their barriers in an attempt to disassemble the airships piece by piece.

Beach City

"Noooope." Amethyst mumbled, rolling to the side, off the sofa, and disappearing into the kitchen.

"Steven is not our son!" Pearl grumbled yet again, clenching her hands into fists- yet still keeping one foot in front of the other like a ballet dancer. "And this is not some... some Mushroom Kingdom!"

"This is Beach City, Funky." Garnet replied, cooly. "And we ain't never heard of a Mushroom Kingdom. Not now, not ever. I think you got relocated like the rest of us."

"Yeah, man!" Amethyst yelled from inside the fridge. "Welcome to... Battleworld! Dun dun duuun!"

Helghast Envoy/Central City

King Bradley leaned back as he waited for the Captain to return. "So... it's like radio, but for pictures?" He asked Slajavic, glancing at the tablet. "Imagine how I could use this for a speech. The Fuhrer in all of the people's homes. As if... I am part of their family."

Santa Destroy

Kuvira stared right back at Jeane, her eyes twitching at the accusations that she didn't care for her soldiers. For a moment, she gritted her teeth and clenched the side of her head, closing her eyes to concentrate... but just for a moment. When she returned, a smile spread across her face like butter over a piece of slightly burnt bread. "Don't be ridiculous. Did my sudden display surprise you so much that you had to resort to meager tactics like discrediting me in front of my soldiers to avoid fighting me? If that is how long it takes to force you to change plans, this won't be a battle."

"The reason why I, regrettably, did not reveal my abilities earlier is because I held onto the belief that you would listen to whatever shred of decency and common sense still resided in your mind and give Santa Destroy to me. I did not show just how fast I could go because there was no need to. I thought, in my foolishness, that you had the best intentions of your people in your mind. That once you saw my act of goodwill, you would allow me to protect them as if they were my own. Even when you turned your weapons on me, I still held onto that belief. But seeing my soldiers— no, my brothers and sisters slaughtered made me realize something."

Kuvira glared at Jeane, narrowing her eyes. "You're not a leader. You're a disease, and if you're allowed to walk freely, it won't be long before more lands succumb to the madness you exhibited today. I doubt the automatons will be in hand to stop whatever genocide you unleash because you misunderstood a peace offering for a direct attack. It was when we were forced to stop and you refused to admit your part in the massacre committed today that I knew what had to be done. I played the part of the fool. I lulled you into a sense of superiority. You stepped into this duel with the intention to kill me, did you not? Do not lie to me, I saw it in your eyes. I must admit, I have that same intention. I just knew how to hide it."

"That is not the only difference between you and me, though. You want to kill me just for the fun. There never was any desire to protect your people behind any of your actions. The people you hold under you employ are the perfect example of that kind of thinking. But me? I will kill you to avenge my brothers and sisters who died today. And once all of your forces are unarmed, I will show them true kindness... mercy... human emotions." And finally, another smile. "Something I believe you completely lack." She placed one hand behind her back and held the other out. "Bitch."

Sliding from one side to the other, Kuvira rushed towards Jeane, hoping her zig-zagging motion would distract her enemy. But she was going for a shockwave... which meant the Earth Empress had to change her attack on the fly. She jumped, trying to cover that distance as quick and cleanly as possible with a flying kick to the face.
